Many things in 2021 are not what they used to be as a result of the pandemic. That is not the case here. The FS is just as amazing as they have always been. They are in an elite class of hotels. We stayed at many top tier hotels over the last two weeks for our honeymoon and none can compare to the FS.
Despite the pandemic and trying to plan a wedding thousands of miles away in New York, everything on our big day exceeded our expectations — thanks to Maria Hirt at Four Seasons Wailea.
The idea of planning a Hawaiian wedding from the mainland is daunting. Chances are you’re a busy professional with limited time, yet you want absolute confidence that your wedding day will go smoothly. Working with Maria Hirt at FS Wailea gave us that kind of assurance. She is friendly, thorough, responsive, and the entire staff is just exceptional!
We chose to get married on Plumeria Point and it was stunning. If you are considering a wedding in Maui, this is the place to do it. Contact Maria and you’ll be in good hands. Your wedding will be beautiful and your guests (we had about 20) will be delighted.
The only problem is that you will not want to leave this beautiful resort!
Stephanie L. was the Manager that helped me plan and execute our wedding. From beginning to end, she was kind, professional, knowledgable, and so patient with me. Went over all the options with me and respected that I wanted to stay on my budget. Stephanie also coordinated everything on the day of the wedding so I didn't have to worry!
The vendors that were recommended were amazing, you're only going to get the best at the Four Seasons. Everyone from our officiant, instrumentalists, photographer, people working during cocktail hour went above and beyond to make our day special. They only do one wedding a day so you don't have to worry about taking down your decorations for the bride after you!
We stayed here for a few days before and after the wedding, and it was totally worth it.
My husband and I got married at Four Seasons Maui on 4/11/19 and we could not be more thrilled with how our wedding turned out!
While I was in Maui in March 2018, I looked at a few different venues on Maui and FS immediately stood out. The FS is a cut above the rest and the most beautiful resort I’ve ever seen. I met with one of the wedding planners to tour different ceremony and reception sites—every space she showed me was stunning.
Many of the other places I visited didn’t hold a candle to FS. Lots of resorts book multiple weddings in the same day and the event spaces are ugly/very public. At FS, they only do one wedding a day so they can focus all of their attention on you. While no resort wedding could ever be “private”, the spaces FS provided were intimate and significantly more private. Another plus to FS is that it had direct beach access. We could easily walk down to the beach for pictures and there weren’t that many people there.
Once we signed our paperwork and booked FS as our venue in May 2018, we were assigned a wedding planner, Samantha. Samantha was instrumental in coordinating our other vendors--we had a dream team!
Planning a destination wedding is a lot of work, but Samantha was always very patient in answering my questions and offered great suggestions. I’m very much a type-A person—I love to plan and organize everything and I ask a TON of questions—and Samantha took it all in stride. Samantha helped me to make my vision for the wedding a reality and I will forever be grateful to her.
When it came time to walk down the aisle, I was absolutely floored with how stunning the ceremony site was. It was beautiful by itself, but Samantha transformed it. The florals were gorgeous and the setup was just lovely. I felt this way again when we made it down to the reception dinner. The décor and design was executed flawlessly.
When my husband and I made it back to our (upgraded!) room, there was a large bouquet of flowers, chocolate covered strawberries, two bottles of champagne, and a fruit/cheese platter. I couldn’t believe how thoughtful it was…we were treated like royalty. They even delivered all of our wedding flowers to the room—it smelled amazing in there!
Samantha and FS went above and beyond to give us the wedding of our dreams. Wedding day was no joke one of the most relaxing days of my life. Because it was planned so well, I basically just showed up and enjoyed myself. Our wedding was pure magic and we will always look back on that day with great fondness and love. We are FS customers for life!
Advice to other brides who are planning destination weddings: everything really does come together towards the end of the planning process. The bulk of the planning happened in the 2-3 months leading up to the big day.

BAIT AND SWITCH! I will preface this post by letting you know that we did not have our Wedding at this venue. We were turned off after a very stressful ordeal working with the event staff. We are very upset with the way we were treated and dragged along by the event staff at the Four Seasons Maui. After our sight visit which went GREAT! My Fiance, was head over heals for the property. It is beautiful. We chose the Four Seasons as our Wedding Venue and returned to Chicago. After a MONTH of trying to get in touch and going back and fourth with them between "island time" and the coordinator, Stephanie's, travel schedule. We learned that were were "misinformed" almost everything were told on the site visit. They now wanted to charge us TWICE for the Ocean Lawn site (once for the ceremony and once for the reception) Yes, you read it right! TWO site fees for the same location, when were were specifically told on our site visit, that there would be no additional fee. They did not honor what they told us or the many other things she "misinformed" us of. They even tried to pass blame at an outside wedding coordinator for the misinformation even though we all heard it come directly from Stephanie as my Fiance took notes. We even had to point out the fact that they UNDER priced our alcohol package which I am sure they would have eventually added to the invoice. Very unprofessional, VERY upsetting! When I called to discuss this, Thursday, they again asked if Stephanie could call me back on Monday. I told them absolutely not, we can not let this go another 5 DAYS! After requesting Stephanie to honor what was pitched to us at our site visit, she declined, and we ask to speak to her supervisor, who called us the next day. After talking with the Director of Events, Raina, she backtracked EVEN MORE information that was told to us by Stephanie, whom told us that we had to choose one of the packages that they offer, which meant it would not make sense to use our coordinator. This was also found to be untrue, which we just found out today (1 month later). After expressing our deepest frustration to Raina, although she remained professional, all she had to say is "Sorry, that the Four Seasons is not a fit for us." Well NO, not when we were blatantly lied to and mislead by your staff. Then tried to be taken advantage of after we have our mind set on your location, after considering everything we were told by our site visits. She did admit to their mistake and oversight of the incorrect pricing of the bar package but the rest must have been our imagination...
I will find somewhere else to spend $75,000 and bring upwards of 100 guests.
I couldn't imagine having a better overall wedding experience, and I would choose the Four Seasons all over again if I had the opportunity. Laura Creider was my wedding planner and not only was she sweet, but proficient and she thought of EVERYTHING.... down to the very last detail including which way the wind was blowing the day of the wedding! I had my ceremony at Plumeria Point and my reception at the Oceanfront Lawn and I could not have been more pleased - the service, amenities, and the beautiful property won me and my husband over and we have no regrets! As a side note, I was surprised at how affordable the Four Seasons was compared to hiring an external wedding planner and having the ceremony at a private estate.
The quality of service is immeasurable at the Four Seasons Wailea. After encountering several bumps in the road with my initial wedding planner (I should have addressed my challenges with hotel management sooner) the hotel was not only empathetic, but jumped to fix and eliminate any additional stress and frustration the day before my 11/2 wedding on the Four Seasons Property.
Not only did they make the situation right, but they swapped out my wedding planner last minute, and added extra beautiful things to make up for the shortcomings I experienced in my wedding planning journey. Many thanks to resort manager, Martin Dell and my new wedding planner, Laura Creider, who were instrumental in fixing a stressful wedding planning situation. Can't thank them enough for their helpfulness and the memories they helped create for my family and I.
Lovely wedding- food was delicious, scenery unbeatable- perfect for a destination wedding. Paola Fernandez did a lovely job coordinating the event.
We knew this would be an amazing location for our wedding, but could not have imagined how perfect a day could go.
Working with the hotel, and Denise Black, our coordinator specifically, was SO EASY and had me asking the question (multiple times) "Should I be doing more to plan this thing?" I knew I would be pretty easy going and feel comfortable trusting the hotel and their wedding department to take care of things, but I didn't know it really could be that easy. It was! Things came together so naturally over the course of the seven or so months that we had after we booked the hotel. A few emails and phone calls to iron out the details, and that was it!
One of the biggest selling points on the venue, for me, was that they only do one wedding a day on the property. That isn't the case at a lot of the other venues in the area and, when we got there I realized what we actually got with that promise.
We showed up for the rehearsal the day before our wedding with our party, parents, etc. I expressed some concerns to Denise about the location I thought we would like best (Plumeria Point) because I'd visited a couple days before and noticed that it was pretty shady that time of day, and not as grand and breathtaking as I'd expected. She had a little sparkle in her eye and smirked a bit and said "well, let's take a walk around and see what spot feels right - you can pick any one you want." Any.One. the DAY BEFORE. So awesome. So she took us to a few spots, then saved the most mind blowing location for our final stop and I realized that this was the reason for that smirk - we were sold in about .0001 second :)
The flexibility provided by being the only wedding of the day, coupled with the amenities and service you expect from a world-renowned resort made for the single most memorable few hours of my life. Plus we HAD to stay at the amazing hotel for three nights, and experienced how good life can be :)
Thank you to the whole staff, and most of all to the talented, unfrazzle-able, wonderful Denise!!
I had my wedding here and it was more than I could of ever expected. It was amazing. The resort grounds are stunning and I had the pleasure of working with an amazing wedding manager. It was an unforgettable day and everything was perfect!
My wedding coordinators, Denise and Diane, were amazing. The hotel is beautiful.
Karen Lincoln was my wedding manager. She wend above and beyond to see that everything was perfect. I did not have to do anything. I got to really enjoy my wedding while she made she everything ran smoothly behind the scenes. They only do one wedding a day so you really get the best treatment unlike some of the other surrounding hotels where there is another girl in a white dress on the hour every hour. It helped me feel like the day was all mine!
We had our reception at ferraros. The food was amazing and the ambience at ferraros makes it he best restraunt on Maui.
This is the greatest resort, most acccomodating, and friendliest, place on earth! If you are having any reservation on where to stay in Maui, stop here!!!! I cant say enough about the staff of the FS! The accomodations are amzing, and they are very detailed oriented!! We will be back for our one year annv!
There are not words to describe how pleased we were with our dream wedding at the Four Seasons Wailea. We worked with Sandra Merz and she made our wedding absolutely flawless. She was so professional and a joy to work with. The catering was delicious, the flowers gorgeous, the cake beautiful, and the service was definitely 5 star. We would not be more pleased.
Having a destination wedding is difficult so I chose the 4S because I thought they would do the little extra to make sure everything is planned and perfect.
It was a small wedding and I felt like it was treated as such. I also brought my own photographer which I felt may have alienated me and the provided 4S wedding planner for some reason.
There were MANY elements that were forgotten or completely dropped. I was credited for some money back because of the miscommunications but money can not give me back missed moments for my husband and I and our guests.
(one example, is the sparkling wine I picked was not available for our reception dinner for some reason. So instead of sub'ing another, the head server told us to just do our toast and that 'everyone's glasses were filled with something.')
anyway, the 4S did compensate us so I feel badly writing this, but I gave them 3 stars instead of the 2 or 1 I would have if they didn't follow up with me.
The resort is beautiful.
Our room was upgraded and beautiful and the staff at hotel were all wonderful.
The florist used for wedding, I don't know their name, was amazing. the flowers were incredible.
My wedding was flawless and so much fun, the outdoor Ocean View Lawn was amazing at Sunset and the decor/flowers were amazing! The Four Seasons is pricey but you get what you pay for.
It was on an oceanfront lawn overlooking the beach the moutains the water. It was very intimate and stunning! The food was also phenomenal.;The hor's d'oerves are small but delicious. You should overorder... Also expect a LONG cocktail hour. it takes them almost 2 hours to turn the ceremony space into a reception space.
