Friends Lake Inn

Friends Lake Inn is an excellent venue for an Adirondack destination wedding. There are three packages to choose from. We chose the Adirondack Petite Wedding package, which best suited our budget. The FLI event planner was friendly, personable, and available to answer our myriad of questions. Accommodations were amazing, both in offered amenities, cleanliness, and attention to an Adirondack vibe. Cuisine at the Inn satisfied our palate with a variety of fare enjoyed by ourselves and our guests. Vendors utilized by the Inn were professional and delivered excellent services in cake, floral, photography. We did not use the officiant provided by the Inn, as a family member filled that role for us. We have amazing memories of our wedding day, 9/23/23, thanks to FLI. Hopefully, we can explore the hiking trails adjacent to FLI on a future return visit (anniversary)!!

As someone who had never thought she would get married and certainly never dreamed up a perfect wedding day, I was so pleasantly surprised that my wedding day at the Friends Lake Inn was, in fact, perfect! From the moment we met Julie, the coordinator, we were put at such ease with her calming presence, and we knew we were dealing with a serious professional. The communication in the months leading up to the wedding was so easy, as was all of the planning- because we didn't have to do any of it! The Friends Lake Inn provides their own delicious food, connects you to their partnered florist, bakery, hair/makeup, photographer and officiant. All of the above were incredible- my flowers were beautiful, the cake was delicious, I felt beautiful, the photographer made us feel so comfortable, and the officiant helped us put together a beautiful ceremony honoring my husbands Ukrainian culture. The day itself was so easy- my husband and I had so much fun, and had no stress whatsoever. It was the perfect location for 40 of our closest friends and family as many of them stayed at the beautiful Inn and were able to experience the beautiful Adirondacks. The staff are all outstanding- the service of the fantastic food and drinks were incredible, and many of my guests are still talking about how this was the best food at a wedding they had ever had. The value of the whole package was so worth it- I was always one that couldn't believe that people would spend so much money on weddings. We received the most perfect day for an incredibly reasonable pricing package where everything was done for us. I cannot say enough good things about this place, and my husband and I plan to return several times in the future to reminisce!

We had a fantastic time getting married at the Friends Lake Inn. We were lucky to have beautiful weather and get married outside in the scenic grounds. There was a great room downstairs for me, the bride, to get changed and ready in. After the ceremony there was also an open bar and game room for everyone to relax while the dinner was being prepared. Jullie collected all of our personal decorations and the staff did a fantastic job at setting everything up. There was a slight hiccup with our menu, but the staff adjusted and made sure we all had fantastic food with plenty of options, even if it was not what we originally planned. The included breakfast was also delicious. We stayed in the cabin with a full kitchen, living area, and dinette. This was very useful since all of our guests could hang out with us, since they were coming from out of town. We finished the night outside together by the fire pit.

My now husband and I eloped with a small group of family and friends. Having to find a venue that is affordable and makes life easy with planning for a short-notice wedding was challenging until I came across Friendslake INN. From the venue to the food and atmosphere were terrific. The team that was hired for the cake and flowers did an excellent job on my requests, and the Hair and makeup were beautiful by their personally hired stylist. Jullie, the planner, is super lovely and made life so much easier and works with your personalized requests. The officiant created a beautiful ceremony for us as well. We LOVED Friends Lake Inn. My husband and I are from Kansas but wanted a destination wedding and found Friends online. From the first conversation I had over the phone with Jullie I felt so comfortable and she provided so much information and was so helpful. My only complaint is that I wish we would have spent more time there! Everything from our room decorated with flower petals and champagne to the amazing vendors to the beautiful outdoor ceremony and the special dinner afterwards was perfect and amazing. I can't wait to go back at some point, maybe to celebrate a big anniversary a few years down the road. Our day of coordinator, Kathy, was amazing as well and took care of everything with the vendors and got us drinks when we needed them and made sure everything ran smoothly so there was nothing for us to worry about. I can honestly say they helped give us the wedding of our dreams and we are so happy and grateful!

You will love your wedding day!!!! My wife and I were married here and it was truly the best day of our lives.

Friends Lake Inn ended up being the perfect destination for our wedding on 8/26/23. Jullie was a pleasure to work with in coordinating the event and helped ensure our day was as special as we set out for it to be. The food was delicious, the rooms and the property were gorgeous, the staff is incredibly friendly and accomodating. Vendors the Inn partnered with were fantastic as well. We are so, so happy to have chosen Friends Lake Inn to host our wedding.

My husband and I chose to get married at the Friends Lake Inn due to it's beautiful intimate setting and inclusive wedding packages. Our day was nothing short of perfect from start to finish. The entire planning process was a breeze and the vendors that were included in our package were all incredible. Julie is amazing and we could not have done it without her. Anything you can think of she's got it handled. She coordinated the whole day to flow smoothly for us, and we really didn't have to do a thing besides show up and enjoy ourselves! The waitstaff was outstanding and attentive, and our guests have not stopped raving about the food! I cannot recommend the Friends Lake Inn enough for a wedding venue!

Our wedding at Friends Lake Inn, within the Adirondacks was magical. We loved how Jullie coordinated with the vendors and took away much of the anxiety related to planning a wedding. The vendors for the hair & makeup, cake, flowers, and photography were absolutely fabulous. The food at Friends Lake is incredible. We received many compliments on how much fun people had at the wedding. And nearly everyone that gave us comments also added how good they thought the food was. The wine is spot-on too. Definitely sign up for the tasking if you are able to. Everyone on staff at FLI is so very friendly and welcoming and professional. The beds have the softest sheets and the Lake rooms have real fireplaces with firewood ready for you. If you are looking for a relaxing, romantic, intimate (we had just over 30 guests), scenic Adirondack venue, then this is the place for you to get married.

I held my wedding here last April (2022). The place has a ADK theme and is cozy. Unfortunately, my wedding didn't go as well as I hoped partially because 2 days prior to my big event I got an email informing me that the wedding coordinator couldn't make it to my wedding because she and some of the staff got Covid-19. I was really worried about my big day after this news, but she assured me I was in good hands. Unfortunately, that wasn't entirely the case. The day prior to my wedding, once my family and I arrived, there was a lot of confusion about what rooms my family would be staying in even though they had been reserved for quite a bit of time prior to the wedding. The day of the wedding the staff in charge of now coordinating my wedding were very disorganized and unaware of all of that was to be accomplished on my special day unfortunately because of a lack of communication with the wedding coordinator and because guidance was absent. They were very short staffed. My center pieces and other floral arrangements never made it to the guest tables, enterance tables, or the wedding couple table. Two dozen of rose petals we had prepared were supposed to be sprinkled over the reception tables which also didn't happen, and they never left the fridge. The flowers were one of the most crucial aspects of my wedding and I emphasized this to the coordinator. A refund for all of the flowers was not offered, the Inn instead simply delivered them to my honeymoon room the next day with an apology. Unfortunately, the young lady that was placed in charge of coordinating the wedding on the wedding day was nowhere to be found until about a half hour prior to the event, so my husband had to run around like a chicken with his head cut off while trying to tell people where to go and what to do until I was ready. That was not my husband's responsibility. I did inform Friends Lake Inn about why I was upset the next day and after, and I spoke with the owner. He offered me a free night stay at Friends Lake Inn and then proceeded to ask me, "Will that make me happy?". I sincerely hope this doesn't happen to another couple. The owner asked me to leave a good review after he offered me a free night stay at the Inn, and I believe a truthful one is indeed just that. If you are having a small-moderate sized wedding, I would consider looking else where for a dependable venue. The Friends Lake Inn proved that if they are thrown an unexpected curveball, they may not be able to pull through. It is my strong belief that this particular Inn caters better to couples that are looking to elope or have a very small more intimate wedding. I hope this review helps those special couples out there who are in the process of deciding on their dream place to share their vows.

We just got married here on 2/03/23. It was amazing and so easy. We planned on having a small wedding and I personally wanted to be as hands off as possible and this was the perfect fit. Jullie (wedding coordinator) was very easy to work with, helped with the planning and the day of coordination. the inn itself is lovely. The food at the wedding was delicious and all of the vendors were great as well (cake, flowers, hair and makeup). The vendors reached out a few weeks prior to the wedding to get my input on certain things and that was the extent of work on my end. All of our guests loved the food and the rooms they stayed in. The staff was excellent as well - the bartenders and the servers!! Would absolutely recommend for an elopement or small wedding!!! Awesome locations for pictures too, indoor and out. The final price we paid was $5274 which includes the tab of an open bar we had from 2-9 (came to $717 if I remember correctly). The package we chose was the Adirondack petite wedding package which includes 14 guests.

Our wedding day was pure joy, in no small part due to FLI’s amazing staff. The staff were hospitable and competent. Everything—and I mean everything—went flawlessly. We literally have no complaints. The Inn itself is beautiful and the food is arguably some of the best in Upstate. Our families are still raving about our wedding. We will be coming back to FLI every year to celebrate our anniversary.

TLDR: have your wedding at Friends Lake Inn!!! I can honestly say that reviews from The Knot convinced me that Friends Lake Inn (FLI) would be the right place to have my microwedding. I wanted a cozy, elegant, STRESS-FREE, and meaningful wedding day, and I can honestly say without any reservations that I got those things and more. Our event took place over the course of 3 days (2 nights) on a Monday–Wednesday in October. We chose the Petit Wedding Package and made a few add-ons, like an extra hour of photography, the bridal lounge for hair and makeup, and some snacks. While a weekday wedding asks a lot of your guests, it was an incredible way to save a little money—and we just happened to get the Inn mostly to ourselves. We enjoyed all of the amenities: dry/steam sauna, hiking trails on the property, game room with a pool table and board games, complimentary breakfast, outside fire pit for s’mores, and even a bridal lounge stocked with delicious snacks from the kitchen for the hours leading up to the wedding. I highly recommend that any couple stay in one of the Lake Rooms with a private entrance and a fireplace—we were so cozy the entire stay, and it felt very intimate and romantic. The Inn itself is so incredibly charming, cozy, and warm—what an amazing backdrop for any wedding. FLI may be in the middle of nowhere (that’s kinda the appeal), but it is staffed by consummate professionals who truly understand event planning and execution. Jullie, the Wedding Coordinator at FLI, is incredibly warm, understanding, and easy to work with. Jullie is a very competent person you can trust to take a list of what you want, and make it happen without any effort on your part. She’s just a gem of a human being too—5 minutes before the ceremony, she got me tissues and a glass of water as the “my grandma can’t be here because she’s dead” waterworks started. Jullie and her staff were incredibly attentive to food allergies. Including myself and several other guests, we have about 4 different food allergies between us. Jullie made sure we knew what ingredients were in every dish and even had her incredible chef run out for different crackers when an allergy my family didn’t communicate to me popped up. That being said, with our meals being gluten-, dairy-, soy-, and nut-free, we had incredible welcome-night and wedding-night meals. Our guests were completely blown away by the quality (and quantity!) of food. The other part of this wedding that blew me away was the extra mile Jullie and her staff went for little details. She made sure that my specialty s’mores ingredients were plated up beautifully and waiting for us on the patio after dinner. When we wanted to do toasts during the reception instead of dinner (and forgot to tell Jullie), the photographer told her the plan and she very quickly moved all the glasses and made sure everyone had prosecco in hand within 5 minutes. The appetizers during our reception were tiered with tasteful fall decor, and our wedding favors were artfully arranged in the dining room with our cake. The attention to detail Jullie and her staff have is incredible, and not something you can guarantee when you’re planning a wedding. As a bride who booked this wedding without ever visiting the Inn, my leap of faith completely paid off. Get married at Friends Lake Inn!!!!

Absolutely fantastic! Jullie is a wealth of knowledge and helped keep us calm and organized throughout the whole process. They handled just about every aspect of the day and made sure that everything ran smoothly.

Friends Lake Inn made our dream wedding a reality. The location is scenic, the staff is accommodating, and every detail was accounted for. I want to thank Jullie and the wonderful folks behind the scenes at the Friends Lake Inn for their help with our petite wedding. We chose a wedding package that suited our needs, and we were able to add or subtract amenities as needed. The Arch and wedding area are absolutely gorgeous, with every portion of the property set up for picture perfect moments. The Inn itself has gorgeous rooms for guests with lots of space, and plenty of privacy in the cabin as needed. Friends Lake Inn also partners with fantastic local vendors who all exceeded our expectations. We had an amazing wedding and absolutely wish that weekend wouldn't end. We can't wait to come back to visit and relive the memories made at Friends Lake Inn all over again.

If I could give them 10 stars I would. First of all, their packages are extremely comprehensive and affordable. I didn’t have to worry about finding any of my own vendors (and the vendors they work with are top-notch). Jullie, their wedding coordinator, was a dream to work with and made sure everything went smoothly and perfectly on the day! I truly would not have changed a thing. And the food is absolutely fantastic!!!

Everything about our wedding was beautiful and perfect. FLI payed attention to details ensuring our day was exactly how we had hoped it would be. They did everything. All we had to do was show up and enjoy…and we did! Thank you for making our day a dream!

On October 1st of this year we got married at Friends Lake Inn. We have always loved the Adirondacks and wanted a small initimate wedding so we decided to follow through with Friends Lake Inn. We first visited in January 2022 where we stayed overnight and had an amazing dinner where all the accommodations, the staff, and the beauty of the inn won us over. Jullie worked closely with us all year to ensure everything went smoothly. She was very responsive anytime I had any questions. She coordinates the flowers, cake, officiant, photographer, menu, hair and make up, basically everything. It took the stress out of planning for all those things especially being from out of town. We had our ceremony outside by the willow tree which was so beautiful during this fall season and had our reception inside the inn and then afterwords ended the evening with music and a bonfire outside on the property. The food and the drinks are truly amazing, all of our guests raved about it. The wedding weekend was everything we imagined and more. We will definitely be returning for our anniversary next year!!

I was beyond impressed with Friends Lake Inn. My fiancé and I decided to elope after my mother passed away unexpectedly last year. I really didn’t even want to go away because I had been so depressed over the passing of my mom but we settled on eloping to the Adirondacks (which is close to our home town). I looked at two places in Chestertown to elope and settled on Friends Lake Inn after contacting both places and not getting great customer service at the other place. I spoke with Julie via email and began to plan our elopement. Julie was very responsive to all of my questions and made the process very simple and easy. As the wedding date approached I was contacted by the florist, bakery and photographer. I figured I would get to choose from a standard 3 or so wedding cake choices or floral arrangement choices. I couldn’t have been more wrong as the cake, floral arrangements and photography was very much customized to my fiancé and I. The week of our elopement my MIL had surgery and was not able to watch our daughter (age 2) so we had to bring her to our elopement weekend. I sent Julie an email letting her know and upon our arrival Julie had a guest bed made up for our daughter in our room🥰. We were also able to get into our room earlier than expected and prepare for our ceremony. We had a very simple ceremony outdoors under a beautiful willow tree. The options for ceremony spots are plenty and Julie went out of her way to make us feel comfortable and pampered. Our officiant and photographer both arrived early and Julie helped with our fussy daughter while the ceremony took place. We had a blast taking photos with the photographer. That night we had a delicious dinner at the inn and our server was so sweet! We were able to meet and chat with a bunch of other couples (regulars) and had so much fun. Everything at the inn went above and beyond my expectations. The rooms were extremely clean and well taken care of (we had a nice soaking tub and steam shower in ours). Every single staff member we encountered (from check-in to servers/bartenders to cleaners) was very friendly and attentive. The grounds are beautiful with so many options for photographs as well as outdoor games, hiking trails, sauna and fire pits. The food we had at dinner as well as breakfast the next day was delicious and the menu was well thought out. I’m so happy we ended up choosing to get married at Friends Lake Inn and we look forward to going back to stay again (hopefully kid free this time 🤞)

Our wedding at Friends Lake Inn (FLI) was AMAZING. The entire day (and weekend) felt like a fairytale storybook wedding. We booked the entire property from Friday-Sunday with the wedding on a Saturday. The outdoor ceremony was beautiful followed by cocktail hour in the Bistro and reception in the main dining area inside. We utiized the outdoor space after the wedding for dancing and a fire. We chose FLI because of the unique and intimate vibe, beautiful scenery, fabulous food, on-site accomodations, friendly staff and the fact that it was a one-stop shop by just dealing with the wedding coordinator, Jullie. Jullie exceeded our expectations and really made our wedding weekend PERFECT. She was the glue that held this wedding together. Jullie arranged all of our vendors; Mary with Brides2Go did an amazing job on our hair, Jason Hupe Photography capured the most brilliant and beautiful photos, Rebecca's Florist did a fantastic job with all of our flowers, Friends Lake Inn Bistro Bar and Resturant served the best food and drinks and Melissa nailed our wedding cheesecakes. We had 55 guests and all of them raved about the amazing food, the beautiful property and how this was the best wedding they've ever attended. I HIGHLY recommend having your wedding at Friends Lake Inn. My husband and I can't stop talking about how this was the best day and weekend of our lives.

Beautiful ♥️ Everything was taken care of. The officiant, the cake, flowers, dinner. All we had to do was relax and enjoy! We stayed in the cabin, which was wonderful! Staff is very friendly.

My husband and I were married here in July 2022. We looked high and low for a venue that could accommodate an intimate wedding of 30 and offered value, great food and hospitality. Friends Lake Inn came through with meeting all of expectations and then some. They designed a brunch menu specifically for us, that included food for vegan and gluten free guests. The food was phenomenal, and we were impressed (it's typically not easy to impress us!) My husband and I opted to stay for two nights at the Inn, before and after the wedding. We stayed in the Raquette Room which provided us with the whirlpool tub and a private screened in balcony. The room was extremely luxurious, and the included breakfast was absolutely delicious. Everyone on the staff -- from the friendly lady at the check in desk, to the servers in the restaurants & bartenders were down to earth and truly hospitable. Special shoutout to Jullie, the wedding coordinator, who made our wedding day so special. She was extremely friendly and so great to work with. The wedding package we purchased included the wedding cake, photographer, flowers and an officiant (all local contractors). I was initially a little worried since I didn't get to meet any of the contractors before the wedding. I shouldn't have been. AT ALL. The floral arrangements were gorgeous and the wedding cake delish! Jason was our photographer and Holly was the officiant- both super warm people that made my husband and I feel at ease. We loved the Inn and the area so much- we are already planning our next getaway to Friends Lake Inn.

I would recommend this venue to anyone. They offered everything you can ask. I would come again. The service phenomenal and my wife loved the room will come again

The food at Friends Lake Inn was delicious . Everything!! Breakfast, appetisers our main meals all of it. Our cake was from Belle Dolci and was perfect !! The staff is so friendly and made us feel very welcomed and part of the Friends Lake Inn Family . Also very important during COVID. Was so clean all of it! The staff all followed the rules and everything was clean and spotless . I felt safe enjoying ourselves at the Inn. This place helped us make our Wedding Day Special! We definitely will return for some long weekends or even a nice drive for a fabulous meal. Thank you everyone at Friends Lake Inn for enjoying your jobs and making the Inn a special place to enjoy! If you're looking for a petite wedding venue that does it all, look no further! From beginning to end, there wasn't a single need or want that wasn't addressed expertly and professionally. To start, Friends Lake was just another venue on a long list of options for us. We were looking for a small venue on a tight budget and a tighter time-line. Nothing seemed to fit our needs, until we came across Friends Lake Inn. An afternoon talking with Jullie (event coordinator), and a lovely dinner for two was all it took to sell us on having our country chic wedding with them. Not only was the price super affordable, but we were able to customize everything! From family style dinner, to what we wanted served at the bar! As for the package deal, they cover everything and everyone. Chef Josh and crew were on point in the kitchen since day one of choosing them. Every single guest commented on it being the best meal they've ever had at a wedding. Not just flavorful, but locally sourced as well. The florist met our color scheme needs. The photographer was incredibly nice and even got us a sneak peak of some photos before the day was even over! The baker covered some dietary restrictions at NO extra cost all the while making a delectable cake and extra matching cupcakes. And the real kicker, all of them work regularly with Friends Lake. Well acquainted with everyone, knew the venue in and out, no hiccups no problems. Even Holly, the officiant was recommended by Jullie. The inn itself is a perfect setting on its own. A quiet, scenic, rustic charm of a setting nestled in upstate NY a stone throw from the Lake George area. The rooms were elegant but cozy. And not to mention romantic. Nothing like a king size bed, a roaring fire place and a mountain breeze at the window to melt away any woes. All in all. We could not thank Julie and everyone else at Friends Lake Inn for providing us with our dream wedding.

So happy we chose to elope at Friends Lake Inn. Easily the most bang for our buck, and everything worked out beautifully. Dawn was our coordinator, and we couldn't have asked for better. The weekend was as stress-free as possible, and we only planned it a few weeks prior. The fee listed on the website includes everything except hair/makeup and photographer. Dawn took care of everything - rooms, meals, officiant, flowers, cake. The rest of the staff made us and our 2 guests feel special and welcome. We were able to customize our mini cake, bouquet and boutonniere. Our room was so lavish and comfortable, with a king size bed, jacuzzi and fireplace, and an outdoor sauna steps away. The food was delicious, and we had a dining room to ourselves after our ceremony. I was even able to get ready in a private bridal suite. We chose to have our ceremony under the weeping willow in the garden, which was lush with flowers and provided great photo ops. If you're looking for a turn-key, low-stress elopement that feels special and intimate, I would definitely recommend Friends Lake Inn.

Friends Lake Inn made our wedding day perfect! The staff were so friendly, helpful, and accommodating. Our room was cozy and decorated beautifully. The food is exceptional too! We truly appreciated all of the coordinating that they did to ensure we had a wonderful cake, floral arrangements, and officiant. We found Friends Lake Inn from a quick google search. We love the Adirondacks so we we're hoping to find something in the area that wasn't too far from home. We also wanted to get married outside. We knew from the start we wanted a very small and intimate wedding. Friends Lake Inn had everything we needed. The grounds were absolutely beautiful. We stayed in the Great Lakes Room and it was beautiful. It worked great to have the extra space for everyone to get ready as well. Dawn was so great to work with. She answered all of our questions in a timely manner- and I had a lot! She was so sweet and helped us in any way we needed. It was so easy to work with the Inn since they do all the hard work for you! We had 12 guests. We added photography with Jason Hupe and he was amazing! We did the ceremony outside, then hors d'oeurves in the bistro for our guests while we were finishing up with photos, then joined them. Then we moved to the Breeze room for the reception. Dinner is served family style to each table. The food was absolutely amazing. Best food I've ever had at a wedding. We can't say enough great things about Friends Lake Inn. Everything was absolutely perfect. We couldn't have asked for anything more. We can't wait to return for our anniversary.

The elopement package at Friends Lake Inn was absolutely amazing! They did everything for us….we just told them what we wanted and they made it happen! The inn is beautiful, the food was delicious, and the staff - especially Dawn - went out of their way to make our day special. For a very reasonable cost, they provided my husband and me the wedding of our dreams!

After changing our wedding plans again and again due to COVID, we found Friends Lake Inn online. Instant love of the venue for the pics and couldn’t wait to have our elopement there! It’s even more beautiful in person. The Inn and it’s staff (including the wedding vendors) were truly amazing! Our COVID story includes quarantine 24 hours before our original date (10.24), the one we had picked and planned for all year. The Inn staff and Brittany, Jason (photographer), April (hair and makeup), and Melissa (bakery) were all so understanding and kind, able to accommodate us and change the date to whatever would work. Released from quarantine and at the Inn for our new date - November 20th! Everything was perfect and beyond what we dreamed. Brittany planned and assisted us the entire day and set us up in a private dining room with a romantic fire and candles. Our wedding supper was wonderful - the food was gourmet, delicious and beautiful! Breakfast at the inn is just as delicious, too. We stayed in the Mirror Lake room, with a working wood fireplace, jacuzzi, and private porch - it was perfect! There is not one thing I would change about our experience and our elopement (well, except maybe the engraving in our wedding rings, 10.24.20 - the date we had to cancel, lol). Friends Lake Inn was the perfect choice! We are so glad we found them for our day!

This is a relaxed, beautiful, quiet, and luxurious atmosphere. There is a restaurant on site and Chef is amazing!!! Our 8 and 10 year old daughters ate 1 1/2 filet mignon portions for dinner they were so tasty! Brittany takes care of EVERYTHING, and I mean she does it all. She coordinates the entire ceremony, reception, and stay at the Inn. She contacts all of the vendors for you: hair, makeup, cake, masseuse, florist, etc. The set up and decorating is accomplished with the same ease as she serves you meals and drinks the entire time. We honestly felt like her sole purpose was to sore on us 24/7!!!! BEST WEDDING COORDINATOR EVER at the BEST LOCATION in the Adirondacks. If you don't want a big to-do or even if you want grand, they can do it all. Indoor/outdoor ceremony on site, choice of reception locations, s'mores (we're talking homemade chocolate and marshmallows here) on the patio and unbeatable service from the staff. They aim to please and it is a bullseye all day. We LOVED how much fun and relaxation could be incorporated into our wedding day. it was stunningly beautiful too. We plan to go back every anniversary.

This place was wonderful! My wife and I's plans for a big wedding got cancelled along with so many others. We reevaluated what we wanted from a wedding and it couldn't have turned out better. We decided on doing a pretty spur of the moment elopement (less than a month between the time we decided that's what we wanted and the date) and Brittany was able to put all of the pieces together for us. The whole staff was courteous, professional, and extremely accommodating, even with such a packed month. They made us feel like we were important and their only focus was making our day special. The vendors we used for photography, cake, flowers, and makeup were all lovely and turned out better than we hoped. We are already planning on our 1 year anniversary!

My husband Christian and I decided last minute to elope at Friends Lake Inn after having to postpone our large wedding due to COVID-19. Brittany and the team at Friends Lake Inn were so accommodating, helpful, and ridiculously kind. The food was delicious for dinner, and breakfast in the morning was great as well - we didn't realize that breakfast closed at 9 am and walked in around 9:30, but the waitress and kitchen staff served us anyways! With the elopement package we had beautiful flowers, delicious cake, and wonderful photographer. If you're looking to elope in the ADKs, here is the place! We can't wait to go back for anniversaries to come.

2020 was the most stressful year of wedding planning, but the second we changed our wedding to a micro wedding at Friends Lake Inn, the stress almost evaporated. They took care of everything. Brittany was amazing to work with and helped us plan every aspect. She was available to contact at any point in the day, and the open communication was huge for us! The property of Friends Lake Inn is beautiful. The bridge behind the ceremony site with the weeping willow tree is just beautiful. I cannot stress how beautiful it really is. Your photos will be AMAZING. And, they have access to Friends Lake, so after the wedding you can walk down there and grab some shots by the water! Dinner... Dinner had the best food I have ever had. Every guest loved their food. The presentation was spectacular and the taste was worth every penny. The food was above and beyond our expectations. I think what we loved most is how this Inn really felt like a home. Every person was so kind and friendly. The rooms are beautiful. Every guest enjoyed themselves in this wonderful atmosphere. If you are considering a wedding here, do it! I cannot say enough about this place. It will always hold a special place in my heart!

Like many other couples, my husband and I had to cancel our original plans and downsize. We reached out to friends lake inn and planned our whole intimate wedding in just over a month. Our wedding coordinator Brittany worked so so hard to make our wedding a dream. Unfortunately, it rained on our wedding day, but my husband and I were able to get married in the main dining room and it was beautiful! I cannot say enough good things about the inn. We stayed for the whole week and had a mini honeymoon, the food was amazing all week and everyone went above and beyond to make sure we were happy and taken care of. We can’t wait to come back every year for our anniversary! We’re so happy! 2020 has been such rollercoaster of a year and we cannot thank the staff at friends lake inn for making our wedding and honeymoon so special. The whole week we got to spend there felt like we stepped out of the chaos that is this year and we really can’t put in to words how incredible it was. Thank you!!

After our large wedding was cancelled because of the pandemic, we reached out to Friends Lake Inn in hopes of still eloping on our original wedding date. Even though they already had a wedding scheduled for that day, Brittany and the entire staff was still able to accommodate us. I am SO glad that they were, because we had the absolute best time, and it was so, so easy! I opted for the hair and makeup package (April was incredible), we got a couple's massage the night before (also so great!), and my husband and I were able to have an incredibly intimate, private wedding that took our breath away. All we had to do was show up with the marriage license, and Friends Lake Inn took care of everything else. We're vegan, and this was no problem for them-- Brittany coordinated with their bakery contact, Bella Dolci, to get us a vegan wedding cake (which was DELICIOUS), as well as to serve us a vegan dinner on our wedding night. I had a pasta primavera in a white wine sauce and my husband had a mushroom rice noodle dish that looked incredible. We stayed in the Lake George room, which was beautiful. After our wedding dinner, we had the best time curling up in front of the fireplace and relaxing together. Although it wasn't our original plan to elope, I am so glad that we did. Instead of running around all day focusing on everyone else, we were able to enjoy ourselves and celebrate our love for each other. I can't thank Friends Lake Inn enough for the incredible weekend. We're already talking about how we can't wait to go back to celebrate our first anniversary. If you're thinking about eloping or having an intimate wedding, I can't recommend them enough.

Friends Lake did a fantastic job of putting together our elopement! We had to postpone our big wedding until next year because of Covid. My husband and I still wanted to get married on our original date--a tall order, given that we moved to New York state three months before our wedding. We knew no one here, and we knew nothing about the wedding industry here! I lucked out and found Friends Lake on Google, and they put together the most beautiful elopement for us. They handled everything for us (exactly what we needed to happen, after planning, then postponing, our other large wedding), and the entire weekend was beautiful. The staff was all lovely (our breakfast server, Mary, even served as our witness!), and Brittney did a fantastic job of coordinating our flowers, meal, photographer, cake, and the gifts that our family and friends sent us. The inn is beautiful, and we had a great time canoeing and walking on the private trails the morning of our wedding. I couldn't have asked for a better elopement!

My husband and I just got married at Friends Lake Inn this past month (the elopement package with 14 guests) and can’t stop talking about how amazing our wedding day was! Brittany was absolutely wonderful from the moment she created our contract until the day we checked out. She listened and responded to all of our questions and made sure we had the best wedding day. Also, the food was so delicious, our room was so cozy (wooden fireplace was awesome), and the fall foliage was the most beautiful! We are so happy we chose Friends Lake to promise forever together :-) we highly recommend for a small intimate wedding, we truly got to enjoy ourselves and each other the whole weekend!

We got married at Friends Lake Inn this October. Everything was absolutely incredible. The staff is so friendly, professional, and willing to go the extra mile. The food is delicious, and the scenery is gorgeous. We would highly recommend FLI for any wedding needs.

There is a reason they are ranked the top place to elope in the Adirondacks. We cannot say enough good things about Friends Lake Inn. The entire staff is friendly and attentive. The rooms are spacious yet cozy. The food (breakfast for our 2 day stay was included, and our reception dinner) was phenomenal. We stayed in the cabin and loved it. Especially the steam sauna in the shower! We put the private fire pit to good use too and was one of the reasons we chose the cabin. We also took advantage of their canoes and kayaks and lake access. It was so serene and seeing the foliage was gorgeous. Our wedding was everything we wanted it to be. Brittany, the event coordinator, went above and beyond for us and we cannot say thank you enough. It rained the entire morning but the skies parted just in time so we were able to have our outdoor wedding like we hoped. They said they haven’t had to have an indoor ceremony all year and I’m glad their streak didn’t end with us! Our cake from Belle Dolci was as delicious as it was beautiful. The florist also brought our vision to life. We will recommend Friends Lake Inn to everyone we know. And we cannot wait to return next year for our anniversary!

We decided to get married this year at last minute's notice. Friends Lake Inn was so accommodating and friendly to our guest. The hotel was clean and made sure we felt safe during our stay. In terms of the wedding, we hardly had to lift a finger! The florist and bakery reached out to us in advance to make sure the flowers and cake matched our wedding colors. Both were STUNNING. The ceremony grounds made for some beautiful pictures. And the best part was that after the wedding we had a nice dinner in their private dinning room. Again, we felt safe during our indoor dining experience. The next day we took advantage of the lake and the canoes and kayaks the hotel offered. We had a blast. My husband and I stayed in their cabin and that made for an even more special weekend. We took advantage of using the firepit area and made smores. The cabin was clean and our guest confirmed that their rooms were spotless as well. We plan on visiting the Inn again next year!

Friends Lake Inn is nestled away in the beautiful rural area of Chestertown, NY. I booked the elopement package for myself and my husband to be and I was able to have lots of contact with Brittany who was such a pleasure to deal With, she went above and beyond for us leading up to and during our special day. Because of Brittany, the amazing photographer Jason and the team at Friends Lake Inn, our day was amazing! Our private dining room was laid out beautifully with the wedding cake as the star of the show on display, a delicious menu and very attentive staff. This Inn is a place that we will return to again and again.

Omg we loved loved loved our wedding there at the Friends Lake Inn! Thanks to Brittanys help with planning everything was perfect. Jeff was so nice and helpful and accommodating. Dawn was an absolute doll and took wonderful photos for us. Mary was really sweet as well. Holly could not have been warmer or kinder. As our officiant. The flowers were beautiful and the cake was absolutely delicious. We are so thankful that they all took such care with us and truly shared in and celebrated the happiest moment of our lives. Our room was so romantic. We enjoyed the pool room as well as a nice walk to the lake. We’re hoping it was the first of many memorable visits. We have many more trails to walk!❤️

7/7/17 was our wedding day at Friends lake Inn. The weather was torrential downpours damping my garden wedding , but fear not as the Inn prepared for an indoor wedding without hesitation. Mary was our room keeper and she keep me posted on every detail that day and I was told " rain on your wedding day is good luck" We were married without a pause and the wedding photographer they provider was sassy and wonderful, she made the inside photos shine and when there was a 10 minute break in the rain she took out outside so I could get my garden photos. The Inn also provided my bouquet, boutonniere and wedding cake. We had a small reception with 12 quest and the food was delicious and unique! We stayed in a 5 star room the overlooked the garden, played pool, canoed and lounged by the pool the next day. The bistro has tasty food for breakfast, lunch and dinner with a full bar. If you are looking to Elope, have a handful of quest or a big affair then The Friends Lake inn is the place to go. They will provide everything for your special day, you just have to show up. You will not be dissapointed!

My wife and I booked a wedding package at Friends Lake Inn after visiting the inn and falling in love with it! I honestly cannot say enough positive things about my experience with Friends Lake Inn! The owners, and entire staff were amazing! They stayed in constant communication with me throughout the planning process to make sure that they understood my vision for the big day. My wife and I live in Florida so communication was huge! They really went above and beyond to make sure our wedding ran smoothly, and was all that we dreamed of! The inn itself is beautiful! Every room is slightly different, so it was fun to see all of our guest’s rooms. We stayed in the Field Stone and it was beyond gorgeous! There was a king bed, a fireplace, a Jacuzzi tub and a porch that overlooked where we got married. It had everything you needed for a relaxing or romantic retreat! We brought welcome letters/wedding timelines and cookies for all of our guests and the staff placed them in each room for us prior to everyone checking in. The ceremony took place in the back garden area under the willow tree which was so beautiful! The staff at the inn set up the ceremony space just as I envisioned it. From the basket for our blankets, the chairs on either side of the arbor to create an aisle, to the champagne table (where they stayed and poured champagne for the guests!), they made sure every detail was perfect. The officiant provided as part of our wedding package did a beautiful job with our ceremony. The food at the inn was phenomenal! We ate in the main dining room one evening before our guests arrived and it was delicious. We planned a dinner for all 18 of our guests the night before the wedding from the bistro. The staff at the inn set a table for us in a private dining area and took great care of us. Our wedding dinner was in the lakeview room which was so pretty with views of the lake! The food was again delicious and everyone loved the menu. The food from the bistro bar, main dining room and breakfast were out of this world! My guests are still talking about how good the food was. We finished the wedding night with s'mores outside at the outdoor fireplace and silent disco dancing on the patio! The s'mores package that we purchased through the inn really exceeded my expectations. The spread was a sight to see! Not only did it look amazing but there was plenty for everyone to enjoy! If you are looking for a place that is more than just a venue, look no further! At Friends Lake Inn the location is beautiful, the inn is charming, you are treated like family by the entire staff, and the food is so good you’ll wish the chef was actually family. Friends Lake Inn made my dream wedding a reality and they will do the same for you!
