I got the chapel/bridal suite package.
The bridal suite was AMAZING with a modern lighted mirror, lots of counter space and plenty of outlets as well as a very modern shower and bathroom. My makeup artist/hair stylist found it to be absolutely perfect for her needs. It was so much easier getting ready there rather than doing it all at home. It was a perfect retreat for my mom and maid of honor, too!
As for the chapel, it was STUNNING! It's beautiful on its own, but with a little touch of a floral arch, simple pew decorations, and a runner, it looked perfect. No need to overspend on decorating unless you want to.
We had a small wedding so this was perfect in size. It has 16 small pews and could probably fit at least 65 people comfortably.
The chapel also has a REAL bell and we had a special someone pull it when we left the chapel. (I mean....really....how many places can offer that?!?)
There is a beautiful grassy courtyard for brides and grooms to receive their guests outside as well as a large gazebo. Beautiful scenic southern oaks with vintage buildings in the background also offer many photo ops.
Overall, it was a wonderful and magical experience for us. It was the wedding we've always wanted. We are so very grateful we chose the George Ranch Historical Park as our wedding venue! It was totally worth it.
I can’t say anything other than great things about George Ranch and their coordinator Chris Reyes!
Not only is this the perfect place if you’re looking for a truly historic ranch with rustic appeal, it’s also the most reasonably priced wedding venue in all of greater Houston areas. Looking around at beautiful wedding venues that are out of every normal persons budget is a major blow. George Ranch offers a more than fair price for both the ceremony and reception, and it was the perfect place for us! Chris Reyes is absolutely phenomenal and was 100% upfront and ready to go the second we met him, and not once was he ever pushy or the “sales person” type. He was with us all the way through, answering every question and remaining flexible to our wants and needs (not to mention super friendly!)
He’ll be there on your special day to make sure everything is where it needs to be and that everything goes smoothly. My husband and I are forever grateful for his help and guidance, and George Ranch is a truly special place.
We worked with David for my daughter's June wedding. Everything was well organized and communicated. It was a pleasure working with him and his team and we would highly recommend the chapel at George Ranch!
George Ranch is beautiful and Chris was amazing to work with. He helped us make many decisions, as we were not to concerned about all the details. As most of our guests flew in from overseas, George Ranch was the perfect venue to share a little bit of Texas charm with everyone. The little chapel is perfect to make a smaller wedding feel intimate and the reception hall has a great atmosphere. All in all, we couldn’t have wished for a better place to spend time with all of our friends and family!
Where do I even begin? If you grew up in the Fort Bend area, you likely visited the George Ranch in 4th grade. I never imagined I would have my wedding here. We looked at a few venues around the Sugar Land/Houston area- all costing a fortune with no real benefits. We thought we'd see about the George Ranch... upon meeting David we were hooked right away. He was so kind and didn't feed us any BS- straight to the point & took care of all our questions and needs. The cost couldn't be beat. David's vendors were phenomenal- from the food to the music! As the planning steered more into decor and other fun stuff, we were introduced to the coordinator Chris. He is the BEST. Just like David in that he was also very responsive and took care of everything. Everything I asked for, Chris was right on it. Sending lots of pictures of table settings and ideas. He has such a great eye for decorating and making your visions come true... actually he surpassed my visions. I saw the hall fully decorated when we arrived the day of the wedding after our church ceremony and about cried- it was more beautiful than I could have dreamed. Chris went above and beyond, the hall was gorgeous. The charm of the historic hall really gave our reception that extra special touch. Our guests had nothing but nice things to say- everything from the decor, the food, the bar, and atmosphere was fantastic. David was in attendance and danced with us, while Chris buzzed around making sure everything was perfect and that we always had a drink in our hand. We can never thank David & Chris enough for everything they did to make our wedding so wonderful; they have both really become part of our family. If you're looking for a venue that will genuinely care about you and what you want for your wedding, I highly recommend booking the George Ranch. We wish we could relive that day 100 times over!!
We had our rehearsal dinner and wedding ceremony at George Ranch and absolutely loved it! The park is beautiful and each of the historic buildings add so much charm. We loved walking around the park after our wedding to take photos; there’s so many perfect spots. The George Ranch team, specifically Chris and David, were so kind and accommodating! They exceeded our expectations for decorations and made sure to communicate all information so our day went smoothly. We had a perfect wedding day and couldn’t have imagined a better venue!
The second I stepped foot on George Ranch Historical Park, I knew it would be the perfect venue for us. They offer an all-inclusive package that literally has everything and anything you could possibly want for your wedding. We decided to use some of our own vendors, for example we hired a pizza food truck, and the workers at George Ranch were so easy to work with and beyond accommodating to our requests. I have to give a special shout out to Chris; he decorated the chapel and reception hall for us and was so easy to talk to and work with. He let us make any changes we wanted, and his wife even helped put together flower bouquets for us. After our small private ceremony Chris drove us around the park with our photographer to get some special shots at the historical sites. Then during the reception, he was actively ensuring everything went to plan and on schedule.
Best day ever!!! Gorgeous venue, amazing photo ops, and great staff!! Ashley helped my wedding dream come true, and it turned out gorgeous!! She made everything so easy, and I still can't get over how much fun everything was from start to finish! Thank you so much for everything!! Will never forget it!
BEST. WEDDING. VENUE. Chris and David are LITERAL angels to work with and made my husband’s and my Big Day so memorable and so special. David was so responsive to every (I mean, every) question I had as we coordinated all the wedding things, and he very much put me at ease in knowing all the details were being handled. Chris was also SO hospitable and helpful with all things logistics. The venue is absolutely gorgeous—our guests raved about how it was the most aesthetic wedding they’ve been to in a while, and how the chapel and hall really felt like a “Texas wedding”. The vendors recommended by David were outstanding, food was incredible, literally cannot go on enough about this dynamic duo and all their work they put in to ensure a wonderful time.
From the bottom of our hearts, Maciej and I thank you both, David and Chris! And we will always, always, hold George Ranch in a special place in our hearts!
So the song goes...The stars at night are big and bright deep in the heart of Texas. Well, the stars at George Ranch Historical Park, namely David & Chris, both have big hearts & bright ideas when it comes to planning & preparing for what I would have to say was the "perfect" wedding! Our daughter was looking for a special place for her special time. The Ranch speaks for itself as far as a venue. It has character, history & charm. Put that together with a team like David & Chris and you couldn't ask for a better package anywhere. From the moment we first toured the venue to the final dance at the wedding reception they were there for us. Our out of state guests who had never been to Texas got the complete "Texas" experience from the moment they walked into the historic small chapel, to the outdoor games and finally to the historical hall where we dined & danced and even stepped outside to view the "Stars at Night deep in the Heart of Texas". Thank you David & Chris for making our daughter's wedding one full of Texas-sized memories!!
If you're interested in getting married at George Ranch then you need to contact David. He is very professional and was very receptive to our wants and needs for our special day. There is a Gazebo if you want an outdoor wedding ceremony, or a Chapel if you want an indoor wedding ceremony. David was kind enough to set up both options for us so if the weather was clear we could have gotten married in the Gazebo, but since it rained we were able to get married in the Chapel. For the reception there is an indoor location, or there is also an outdoor covered pavilion that we chose to use instead. George Ranch also has multiple places for wedding photos on location (both indoors and outdoors). George Ranch is also located in a low traffic and quiet area where you can enjoy your wedding with family and friends. George Ranch is also VERY AFFORDABLE and depending on your wants and needs David can work up a price that is good for you. We chose our own catering service for food, but David does have connections to catering services to get all your meals ready for your big day. Lastly, we chose George Ranch for our wedding instead of Galveston and a bunch of restaurants and banquet halls around Houston. George Ranch is a spot you can definitely enjoy your big day. Photo spots : Gazebo, Chapel, Pavilion, Fields with flowers, Houses, Tree House, Flower Areas, Paths & Walkways, and a bunch of other places we didn't even use. Time: Early morning, mid-day, or late afternoon. Parking: Huge parking lot fits easily over 100 cars and maybe even 200-250. Price: About 1/4 of the price everywhere else was going to charge us. We did have a small wedding and did own own catering. I think the venue for 4 hours was about $600 and then we did our own catering for about $600 also. Lastly, David didn't tell us no a single time. He was very accommodating to our wants and needs. The answer was always yes he could do it.
George Ranch is the perfect venue that met all of our wishes for our wedding! It’s far enough in the country, but close enough to the city. The drive is easy and you don’t have to worry about taking winding back country roads to get to it. The property is breathtaking with trees that are older than Texas. The historical buildings are amazing and well taken care of. With those two combined you hardly need to decorate or do much to make it look good, which saved us from a lot of extra money and work. It’s also a HUGE property that has an endless amount of places to get amazing photos. Ashley the event coordinator was such a joy to work with. She is so calm and sweet and that really helped while planning an event that is notorious for being stressful haha. If my husband and I were to do it all over again, we would 100% go with George Ranch. It’s almost been a year now since the wedding and people are still raving about the place! It was seriously a dream come true.
I don’t even know where to start expressing my love of this venue and for Ashley. The pictures on the internet do not to the chapel and the grounds justice. We fell in love the moment we first showed up to view the property- it was the first venue we toured and we immediately knew we didn’t need to tour any others- that this was the perfect place for us. From the beginning I felt like Ashley understood my wedding vision and was always on the same wavelength even sometimes ahead of me reading my mind. She was the saving grace for my anxiety and if I ever felt overwhelmed or had a 1000 questions/thoughts she always immediately calmed me down and made me feel so reassured and at ease. I trusted her the whole process and let me tell you when I say our wedding day was perfect because of her - it was perfect because of her. Every little detail was so beautiful. She brought my ideas, thoughts and Pinterest pictures to life. There literally wasn’t a single thing I would have changed after the fact. It brought tears to my eyes once the wedding ended because it was the wedding of my dreams. Ashley felt like a friend not just our wedding planner. If you see this Ashley we love you and can’t thank you enough!!!
George Ranch was an absolutely gorgeous venue and Ashley was wonderful and very helpful! Great location for a small wedding! My only complaint is 4 hours is not enough time and the wedding felt SUPER rushed. But we loved the location and everything turned out wonderful!
The four stars for this venue are for the beautiful location as well as vintage/rustic style I wanted for our wedding. It also helped that it was the most affordable out of the options in the surrounding Houston and Ft. Bend area we were looking at. We chose the chapel for our ceremony and Guy Lodge hall for the reception and it looked beautiful, but sadly the event coordinators did the absolute minimum of what was discussed and expected. And even then, I felt let down.
Coordinators were nowhere to be found 2 hours before the venue which wasnt very reassuring for a bride who was being told things weren't done/set up that our main coordinator Natosha said she would take care of the day before. I also thought it was weird how after the ceremony, it was obvious a coordinator was needed to direct people to the reception venue to allow the photo session to begin, but both coordinators just walked over to the venue doors and stood there while people were congregated around the chapel, not sure of where to go. Thankfully the photographer stepped in to guide people over to the reception. I was even told by the venue that signs wouldn't be needed because the coordinators would guide and help guests find their way to the ceremony and reception, but that clearly didn't happen.
We also sacrificed choosing our own catering & alcohol due to their turnkey policy. Food was ok, but definitely would've catered elsewhere if given the option.
Great people to work with and pretty venue!
Beautiful place!
I want to begin my review with saying how amazing our coordinator Kristi was. She is an absolute gem and made our entire day so perfect, organized, and stress free. Even before the big day, Kristi did absolutely everything she could to ensure every detail for the wedding was together and she went out of her way to make sure I was happy. I am beyond thankful and can’t even put into words how much she positively influenced my whole wedding experience. She worked with us on specific details, let us do some things ourselves to save a few dollars here and there, and made sure we were getting everything we asked for and then some.
Brides… if Kristi is your coordinator and George Ranch is your venue, I promise you that you’re in excellent hands!!! I can also tell you that if you are looking for a venue, this is the venue you should book if you are looking for a place your guests will remember and talk about around the water cooler on Monday! The ceremony space we chose (early April, outside, at dusk, on the steps of the little chapel) was breathtaking and the reception space is absolutely everything I could have asked for. The service was outstanding and they make the planning process SO stress-free. Thank you George Ranch (specifically Kristi) for making me feel like a queen on my wedding day. My husband and I could not have asked for a more perfect wedding or a more perfect coordinator and venue to trust with our big day!
The George Ranch is beautiful venue!! We chose it for it's beautiful oak trees, delightful chapel and historic dance hall. Our guests had a great time and it was a great evening. Natosha was super responsive coordinating all the details and the day was flawless. Perfect, just absolutely perfect for our Texas casual wedding and reception.
We chose George Ranch Historical Park because of its beautiful views and historic charm. This was a perfect venue for family visiting from outside of Texas and provided the perfect scenery for our wedding. The staff was wonderful to work with, prompt and professional. I would highly recommend George Ranch for brides looking for a historical setting and top notch service!
My husband and I got married in front of the church with our guests sitting on the lawn. I could not have asked for a better venue to have our wedding (ever since I was a little girl I said George Ranch was were my wedding will happen). From the venue to the staff (who will answer every single question you have) to the food and the DJ. I could not have had our wedding day happen any better with out Notasha she helped us out so much, we didn’t want a traditional wedding by any means so she helped us come up with our own wedding package, I highly recommend working with her she is the best!!
Fran at George Ranch took such good care of me. Any questions and concerns I had, she answered them quickly and efficiently.
The setting was just perfect!!!!
My husband and I got married in the Tree House at the park. It's was magical and really different. The area was beautiful! We worked with Jane who helped us put everything together. The have specific vendors they use such as the food they prepare, alcohol, DJ, and extras to make your wedding fun! These vendors they call and set everything up for you so it's no hassle to you. You can have a wedding and reception, wedding only, or reception only. The only thing not so pretty was the bridal changing room. The few things we had to take of was the cake and cake accessories, someone to cut the cake, florist, and photographer.
The venue fit our personalities. We had a full buffet consisting of beef tenderloin with all the trimmings and it was the best! Our package was all inclusive, which was fairly expensive.
We chose this venue over all that we visited due to the beautiful scenery and historical significance. The scenery is absolutely breathtaking from the huge oak trees to the beautiful chapel and gazebo. Many of the buildings were actively used in the 1800 and early 1900's and are filled with artifacts from that era. The photographs turn out beautifully with the natural scenic backgrounds. The staff is very attentive and Jane the wedding coordinator is great at keeping all of the details in line and reponding quickly to questions and requests. The food was also great(from what I tasted as a nervous bride) and I heard many compliments on it.
One complaint was that they do not provide the cake service(luckily I have some family members in the catering business that served the cake for us) and you must provide the disposable plates and silverware for the cakes, which for the price I think should be included.
Otherwise, I highly recommend the venue!
Throughout the entire planning process, Kristi @ George Ranch was amazing. She gave us ideas and loved ours, and let us get away with a few things that we requested that weren't typical requests. George Ranch was a beautiful setting for our wedding and all of our guests--including many from all over the country--adored the charm and relaxation of being on a ranch. Everything was set up wonderfully, and I felt like the utmost attention was given to us leading up to the wedding day. I cannot say enough lovely things about this place, but I do have some issues that bothered me, although it wouldn't have caused me to choose a different location in hindsight, I just probably would have hired an outside day-of coordinator. During the rehearsal the day before the wedding, I was told Francesca would be our day-of coordinator. Francesca did not stay to watch the run-through of the ceremony, and I'm pretty sure she left the moment she was introduced to me. Anyway, let's just discuss my main issues. My new husband and I were the ones to have to go up to our band manager and ask "Is it time for father/daughter dance?", "Is it time for speeches?", "Is it time for bouquet toss?", "Is it time for cutting the cake?"---that seems like the coordinator's job, not the bride and groom's. Our band's manager did an excellent job of coordinating with the band when it was time for certain things, but the only think I recall the GR staff controlling was the post-dinner breakdown of the head table which was on the dance floor. Actually, we didn't even get a toast from my Dad because nobody was there to say "Ok, it's time for the toast". I had multiple copies of a specific timeline. WTF? No TOAST!?! So we didn't have a toast, wedding NOT ruined by any means, just woulda-been-a-nice-thang-to-have-on-video, you know? Next. We don't have a knift to cut the cake. Were we supposed to bring that? Yeah I guess a lot of brides bring their own so that we can take the blame for. But what about staff to cut the cake for our guests? Where are they? Two of my bridesmaids found Francesca and asked who was supposed to cut the cake and she (supposedly) told my friends "I'm not touching it." Ok awesome, so my mother-in-law, a friend of the family and my aunt all attempt to cut the cakes. Nice. Not the hired help I expected but whatever. Wedding not ruined. Just I never got a piece 'o cake beyond the bite from my husband's hands because it was super delayed. No offense to my wedding guests cutting it, that wasn't your job. Honestly it just felt like there was nobody there besides the bartenders and a cop, like no staff. I know that Kristi was helping out in the beginning of the day, but I think she left or something after the table breakdown, and along with it all the staff must've though "great my boss just left so now I can fuck around and not work! Party in the barn!" IDK, that's harsh. But seriously, we shouldn't have had to coordinate our own reception. That's dumb. My advice to brides looking into GR as a location is to either hire your own coordinator, or tell them "I don't what what happened at Jessica and Steven's reception to happen at mine--you guys need to be on top of this shit!" Otherwise, book it. It's incredibly romantic, Joe's BBQ was amazing, bar was fully equipped, place was clean (except for the chairs in the dance hall that a bridesmaid requested to be cleaned when she saw dirt on several of them), Kristi really was very helpful throughout the planning.
It was all around beautiful. There is an old wooden white chapel that we got married in with beautiful stained glass windows. The reception was held in an old dance hall with wood floors and tin ceiling. The atmosphere was warm laid-back intimate and romantic.
