I have nothing but great things to say about my experience working with Jay! I had a unique vision for flowers, which he was excited about, and he delivered! When I went for a preview of what my centerpieces would look like, and to give my final payment, I had some feedback that he perfectly implemented. He is responsive, proactive about communicating with venues, and has so much experience that he brings to your consultation and floral experience. He was incredibly pleasant to work with. Not to mention he is an incredibly affordable option compared to some of the other quotes that I received in the process!

Jay is incredible to work with. He is super knowledgeable and confident in what he does. His floral designs are gorgeous!!! He listened to our vision and just ran with it creating beautiful bouquets that captured the coastal feel we were looking for. 10/10 would recommend. Once you see his work you’ll be blown away like we were. He communicates well leading up to the wedding and was on time and excited on the day!

Wow, wow, wow did we love the work of Jay and his team for our May 2023 wedding at the Graduate Hotel in Providence! As we do not live in Rhode Island, much of our communication with Jay was over the phone and via email, but he values in person meetings, and it allowed us to not only thoroughly talk through our event’s needs but also allowed us to see both our lower and higher table arrangements in person leading up to the big day. We also loved that he had all of accessories from the lanterns and candles we used both to line our ceremony aisle and throughout our tables and lower floral centerpieces, to the beautiful chuppah, Jay made all of our visions for the space come true. He even added floral sprays to our greenery wall, welcome sign, and accented the cake. He was recommended to us by the venue, and we know why, he knows the space inside out, and we were so confident in his work every step of the way! Thank you Jay and everyone at Golden Gate Studios!

Jay created a gorgeous display and met my vision perfectly for my special day. He was extremely helpful in planning a wedding from out of state. All of the flowers were fresh and beautifully arranged from the ceremony to the cocktail hour and reception. Jay is a full service florist and stays through the ceremony to relocate the flowers to the cocktail hour and reception. The beautiful sprays from our arbor looked stunning on our cake and sweetheart tables. He pinned up all of the men and mothers and made sure everything was perfect! We highly recommend Jay for any event and would use him again in the future.

When it came to flowers for my wedding day I knew I wanted something classic and timeless. Jay was great to work with! I told him a few things I wanted and he made the vision come to life and it was more than I could have hoped for! The blue hydrangeas were perfect and I was so happy we added the blue delphiniums to my bouquet! I would definitely recommend Jay to any bride!

As a person who had no idea what type of flowers I wanted, or where I wanted them, Jay and his team at Golden Gate made all of those choices one of the easiest things about wedding planning. A long-time expert in his field, Jay is amazing to work with, and his floral pieces show it. With plenty of picture books showing examples of arrangements and colors when you meet with him, Jay helps you create your vision, and thinks of all the little things that you may not have thought about. From arranging in-person meetings, to us calling to ask questions and make small changes, Jay was so considerate of our schedules and changes, and managed it all with stride. His expertise is first-class, and arrangements are truly a work of art.

Jay at Golden Gate Studios can't be matched. He knows what you want better than you do. They are truly masters and it was more than what we could of hoped for. They made it an extremely easy stress free process and we would recommend them to anyone for any occasion

Jay and the team at Golden Gate Studios were recommended to us by our venue, and I am so glad they were! Jay made the process of selecting our florals so easy and was truly patient and accommodating throughout the entire process. Jay was amazing to work with! Communication was great whether it was on the phone or in person. He listened to all my requests, he was very patient and dedicated to making sure everything looked beautiful. I was nervous my bouquets weren’t going to have enough color but Jay reassured me and captured exactly what I was envisioning. My bouquets, centerpieces, pew arrangements, sweetheart table, the list goes on were absolutely GOREGOUS, I had so many compliments. My mother-in law even cried when she saw the beautiful centerpieces at the reception. I would highly recommend Golden Gate Studios, they were fantastic!

Golden Gate was one of my favorite vendors to work with! I was planning our wedding from out of state and unable to meet in person, which wasn't ideal, but he was very responsive to text messages and we were able to share photos back and forth to lock in the vision. I sent Jay a few inspiration photos and let him take creative freedom from there. The arrangements turned out even better than I imagined! The roses were some of the biggest I've ever seen and my bouquet was so full and lush. I just wish I could have saved it forever, everything was completely breath taking.

Jay and his team are true professionals in every sense of the word. They are thoughtful, patient, kind and true artists. Jay takes his time to write out exactly what he plans to provide you down to the color of the wrap on the bridesmaids bouquets. He makes a sample centerpiece to make sure your visions are aligned before the big day and is always open to questions, changes and suggestions. Our wedding was in southern NH and that didn't deter them at all, Jay and his team are nothing short of amazing and are an obvious choice for your wedding florist!

Golden Gate came highly recommended but I was quite dissapointed with their service. I was planning the wedding from outside the country (Canada), but Jay refused to accomodate by using Zoom so I could explain what kind of flowers I would like, instead defaulting to email, in which was a lot harder to explain pictures of what I was thinking of. I was also in for a rude surprise when, only a couple months from the wedding date, after having waited a few weeks for an email reply from Jay on a particular flower piece I was thinking of, I got an aggressive phone call telling me that I either payed the deposit in the phone call then and there (without yet having received the updated invoice with the changes I asked for), or I could find another florist. I was extremely shocked at the unprofessional behaviour, but payed the deposit anyway for fear of not being able to find another florist so close to the wedding day. As well, though I had sent very specific instructions in my email correspondence with Jay about what I wanted for my bridal bouquet, it seemed all that was thrown aside on the day of the wedding when I received my bouquet: not a posy like I had asked, pink carnations (when I asked for peach), cala lillies (when I only asked for these in the boutonieeres), and it was a very tightly bound ball-like bouquet (when I had asked for a more free-flowing one). Epecially given that it was my bridal bouquet and was hoping to preserve it for posterity, I was very dissapointed. In all fairness, I was very happy with the baby's breath bridesmaid bouquets, the chapel arrangement flowers, and the centerpieces for the tables. It was really just the bridal bouquet where I felt my directions were thrown by the wayside, as well as Jay's unprofessional and unaccomodating service.

Jay is unbelievable! His team creates MASTERPIECES. You give him a vision and he runs with it. He’ll create something better than you even imagined! Our flowers were absolutely beautiful and everywhere you looked they were the perfect touches. Highly recommend jay and his team!!!

Hands down the BEST most professional florist I have ever worked with. Jay takes pride in his work and it shows. The flowers for our wedding day were beyond what I expected and we could not have been happier. He dealt with some difficult family members with grace, especially during a busier than normal wedding season. We worked with Jay at Golden Gate Studios to customize our beautiful centerpieces. We weren't that couple the knew exactly what we wanted so we had to describe the feeling we were going for and Jay helped us get to the exact flowers that gave us that feel. We also had the gazebo for the ceremony decorated with flowers and they were just amazing. We even used those same flowers at our sweetheart table and everything complimented so nicely. I'm so thankful to Jay and his group for helping us find what we wanted and guiding us to such a fantastic end result. We couldn't be happier and highly recommend Jay and Golden Gate Studios.

On October 9th , 2021 , my husband and I had our rescheduled COVID Wedding celebration. We had contact Jay about plans for our October 17th, 2020 scheduled wedding date but as we came time to reschedule we were so happy that Jay and his team were available to be our Floral vendor on our newly scheduled date, one year later. The day was all we had hoped it would be and more. Working with Jay was such a great experience. He is very knowledgeable about flowers, super kind and responsive, very reasonable and flexible with the circumstances our world was facing & was very familiar with our venue already which was very helpful. He took my visions of having a dusty rose/elegant look and made them come to life. Our flowers came out beautiful. We received so many compliments. Some guests even took some of the center pieces and bouquets home and said they lasted longer than they expected. My husband comes from a family of florists and even they were raving about the flowers saying how beautiful they looked. I highly recommend using Gold Gate Florists for your floral needs!

The flowers at our daughters wedding ( bouquets, tables, ceremony, reception, farm tables, sweetheart farm table for Bride and groom) were beyond stunning !!! At all our meetings Jay listened and made suggestions to make our daughters dream come true !!! A true professional !!!!

Beware - I got fake flowers...I was super excited to work with Golden Gate as they came highly recommended by several vendors. Unfortunately, on my wedding day, I was super disappointed as my centerpieces included FAKE flowers (GASP!) and the vessel I selected was not used. The flowers on my arch were also much smaller than anticipated, but wasn't my biggest issue. Upon meeting with Golden Gate I was happy with what I was hearing regarding design, floral options and cost. I liked the idea that a sample centerpiece was also offered so I could see my vision come to life before the big day. When it came time for my sample centerpiece, it was gorgeous - big, lush and romantic with the flowers I wanted. Fast forward to my wedding day, I look over while taking photos and notice that a different centerpiece vessel/vase was used. It was big and clunky and the opposite of what I wanted for my romantic wedding. Albeit, I sighed and moved on. I also noticed the color of the roses in the centerpieces were off, more peachy then faint pink. It was my wedding day so I went on and enjoyed the day without inspecting the flowers. To my dismay, the next day, I noticed the wrong colored roses were indeed FAKE. Fake flowers for $$$$ spent on centerpieces. I was mortified. Imagine what my guests would think?!? I called Golden Gate the next day to articulate my frustration. The response was, "I don't know what to say..." Apparently the color rose I selected was not available and the executive decision to use FAKE flowers was made. I wouldn't pay $$$$ for fake flowers.... I spoke with Jay a few days before the wedding to clarify the arch (in which he was quite snippy about and later apologized for)- he could have mentioned at that point the flowers were unavailable and maybe substitute for white or other shade of pink. Even if we hadn't spoken, he could have called me. I understand things don't always go as planned, but its my wedding - I am paying for it. If I opt to use a florist, I don't want fake flowers. Jay tried to downplay the issue with stating the flowers were "high quality silk flowers" and that I didn't even notice until the following day - they're still fake. At the end of the day, the my wedding bouquet was beautiful (not the right color) but beautiful. I didn't appreciate the tone I received after voicing my displeasure and the condescending laugh. We resolved the issue thereafter, but I would have preferred to get the flowers I paid for originally. I am sure Golden Gate does great work usually. but do you want to run the risk of fake flowers? If I knew, I wouldn't.

jay is a visionary. so sweet and thoughtful. Our flowers came out amazing and were very affordable compared to most quotes we got. 10/10 recommend.

Jay was awesome!! My wife and I were thrilled to work with him, and the flowers looked so good folks thought they were fake!!..nothing fake about them though, very beautiful and very real :) Definitely would recommend!!

Stop everything and book Golden Gate. From my first phone convo during the pandemic with Jay, I knew there was no one else I wanted to do our wedding. After getting quotes from MULTIPLE vendors in RI/southern MA, I am certain that the price/work can not be beat. I was totally blown away walking into my venue and seeing the floral arrangements, I got so many compliments all day long and after the wedding about the flowers. Also, just trust Jay. I was definitely a type A bride and Jay reminded me time and time again to just take a deep breath and let him work his magic... and boy was he right. Thank you golden gate for making my flower dreams come true!

Flowers are my thing! They were the core of decorating for our wedding day. Jay took my vision and brought it to life. His prices are very good. We did high and low centerpieces with roses, white and purple, calalillies and a bunch of other beautiful flowers. Loved how they look the flowers from the ceremony to the reception to help reuse the flowers instead of charging more for more flower. The room was beautiful and looked just as I imagined! I would recommend them to anyone looking for a florist!

Jason Lane is an artist. All I had to do was tell him my vision for the day, and he made it happen! All of the flowers were absolutely stunning, and exactly what I wanted! You do not have to be an expert florist to work with him. I told him my color scheme and theme, and let him be creative and it definitely paid off! I cannot express enough how much I appreciate him. Seriously you need him for your wedding!

Jay is one of the NICEST human beings I have ever met! As a COVID-19 bride, I had the pleasure of working with Jay two times: once for our small ceremony in 2020, and then a year later for our big wedding in Newport. Each time, our flowers were PERFECT! Our bouquets, center pieces, and floral arrangements exceeded my expectations! When your other vendors get excited when you tell them that Jay is your florist, you know you’re working with the BEST! If you are looking for a florist you should absolutely go with Jay. I went to a wedding expo and saw Jay’s work there and thought it was absolutely beautiful. I knew I wanted him to be our florist. When we met with Jay I wasn’t quite sure what types of flowers I wanted but I knew the color. Jay was able to help me decide what I wanted and what he thought would look nice together. He was extremely helpful and that really took the pressure off! Due to COVID we had to postpone our wedding and Jay was extremely accommodating. My husband and I actually did get married last year and my dad contacted him to see if he would still make a small bouquet for me. He did and it was stunning. After postponing our wedding to this year there were some slight changes we had to make and Jay was on top of it. He went above and beyond to make not only my flowers beautiful but my centerpieces, cake and toss bouquet. I got so many compliments on my cascading bouquet and they look gorgeous in the photos. You can definitely tell Jay loves his job and he is excellent at it. You should absolutely book him for your wedding!

Jay and his team are incredible! Golden Gate was recommended to me by a few friends who had used them for their wedding florals.They truly have a talent and their floral arrangements are a work of art! For our wedding this past weekend, Jay and his team constructed a stunning floral arch for our ceremony. It was adorned with gorgeous white flowers and greenery and just completed our ceremony. It looked beautiful in pictures! My bridal bouquet was more gorgeous than I could have ever imagined. Jay constructed a beautiful cascade of greens and white florals that worked with the color scheme of our wedding. It complimented my dress perfectly and was exactly what I wanted. His professionalism is unparalleled and all of the floral arrangements for our wedding were stunning! I would highly recommend Golden Gate, Jay, and his team! They were a true pleasure to work with!

Jay is by far one of the nicest individuals I have ever met. You can tell he has such a love for what he does. Every single guest has asked me about my wedding flowers. They were simply gorgeous! Jay was able to design all my floral arrangements off a few photos and they were so much better then I could of imagined! There were a lot of hiccups given my wedding is during this pandemic. He could not of been more supportive or offered to help me more. He was open to every change with complete patience. The church during the rehearsal told me all the flowers had to go right after the ceremony. I originally asked my brother to get them but Jay stayed, collected them all, and then drove to the venue to display them throughout. Something he completely did not have to do. He even gave me money off and told me to use it for a spa day because of all the extra pandemic wedding stress. I can't even say how lucky I feel to have had a co-worker refer him. He was spectacular! I plan on using him for life!

We met J through Rhodes on the Pawtuxet and I am SO glad that we did! I had a dream and vision of our winter wedding and he helped that come to life. The first time I met with him, I didn't expect to book right away. However, when I told him my thoughts it took him just a few minutes to come up with a plan that seemed to be exactly what I was looking for! So we ended up booking that day! I'm not a huge flower person, so when he was saying certain flower names I didn't always know exactly what he was talking about, but I knew that I trusted him and he would do exactly what I wanted. I was not wrong. The day of our wedding I was SO happy with mine and the bridesmaids bouquets. They were so perfect and the exact match to my vision. The ceremony and reception decorations were phenomenal as well! J helped me remain cost conscious while making my dream wedding come true. I definitely recommend Golden Gate Studios!

We met Jay the day we visited our venue in Middletown, RI and knew immediately that we had to work with him. Not only is his work stunning, but he is the nicest and most accommodating person. One of the best things about Golden Gate is they are a full service floral studio--they go above and beyond. They will pin on the guys' boutonnieres and, if your ceremony flowers are being repurposed for your reception, they will stay until after the ceremony to make sure everything is perfect. Jay's entire team is wonderful. Kristi did our flowers and everything looked beautiful and exactly how we envisioned. She even put together a sample centerpiece for me to look at a couple months before our wedding. I can't recommend Golden Gate enough!
