I worked with Grace for my wedding and enjoyed every single aspect. She is undoubtedly a talented makeup wizard, but she is also down-to-Earth, funny, and easy to talk to. She's a professional first and all business when the situation demands, but she otherwise has a gentle, easygoing presence. I found this very soothing the morning of my wedding and was really thankful! I absolutely loved my makeup look. It was natural, light, and elegant, and it was exactly what I was hoping for. Grace also perfectly recreated the hairstyle I wanted. When she was done, I actually thought to myself: no wonder celebrities look good! Anyone can look good if they have someone like Grace working on them everyday! Haha. I am seriously in awe not only of Grace's artistry but also of her technical skills. I have psoriasis and developed small patches on my forehead right before the wedding. (Hellooo stress!) Somehow Grace completely hid this and made my skin look flawless. My makeup never got cakey even though I was outdoors all day in 87 degree weather. I shed quite a few tears during our ceremony, but needed very little touch up afterward. Best of all, despite the natural look, my makeup looked just as amazing in our wedding photos! I feel lucky to have had Grace as my artist for my wedding, and recommend her whole heartedly. My newly minted wife had her hair and makeup done by another artist from Grace's studio and was very satisfied too. As a queer Asian-American couple, we felt supported entirely and never felt judged. Hiring Grace's team for my wedding makeup and hair is one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. I've taken some makeup classes with Grace before and really enjoy her romantic/natural make-up style and professionalism. Grace is super efficient with communication and made the scheduling flexible for us even with some last minute changes from our side. May is the senior artist who did my make up trial and bridal make up. She's very skilled and detail-oriented, yet efficient at her work to achieve the natural look I'm looking for within 2 hours. All artists were punctual on the day of wedding and easy to work with. Thank you Amy and Sarah who did a wonderful job for the bridal party! Although I'm sure yelpers can find other makeup artists in the area for cheaper, but remember that you are paying for the skills and experience from Grace's team... and I would not want anything less for an important event such as a wedding.

Grace is truly a perfectionist - that’s exactly the kind of person you want working on your makeup on one of the most important days of your life. I would not trust anyone else. EMAILS/CORRESPONDENCE: I would not say that I am an easy bride to work with, but Grace was so patient with me. She answered all my emails quickly and with so much detail. She even reached out to my wedding planner on her own to check on schedule and timing! If you have been planning your wedding, you know you are usually answering a million emails, so this was AMAZING — she’s so proactive and organized in her work. She truly CARES about her clients. You won’t just be another number to her. My maid of honor had multiple friends who had their make up done with Grace, and Grace remembered all of them - down to the venue! Can you imagine anyone else who’s that dedicated to their clients? MAKEUP: I was gifted Grace’s bridal day make up by my maid of honor, but I decided to pay for a second trial to experiment with my look. My first look was very natural. I loved the way she made my skin look smooth and glowing. We did light and warm eye make up with natural lashes. I ended up having to postpone my wedding, and I decided I wanted to go with a more dramatic style since my wedding would be later in the day. Although the look I chose was not her typical style, she replicated it with ease. At the same time, she put her own touch on it. Sometimes you see a makeup artist’s work and every girl looks exactly the same. It seems almost like a mask. Grace will NOT do that to you! She didn’t just copy and paste some other girl’s look onto my face. She truly studied the image and pointed out what could work on my face, as well as what would be good substitutes. She worked with my face like a canvas, and she explained what she was doing every step of the way. Grace treats makeup as an art. She’ll make sure your natural features are accentuated while still enhancing and refining the ones you love the most. For me, I wanted soft glam eyes, without it looking like I was on my way to a Vegas club. Grace gave me the glamour while still keeping it softer and wedding appropriate. She listened to my requests to keep my brows, but at the same time she helped shape them to look more delicate. I truly wish my brows always looked this good hahah. HAIR: For my original look, I went with an updo. I thought it would help my face look smaller. However, Grace was HONEST with me! She explained that having my hair down would help shape my face. She showed me how she would create volume to make a slimming effect. The finished look was soft and romantic. If you think you can just curl yourself hair really quickly and get the same effect, I’m telling you that it benefits you to go for the full package because she makes sure that it complements each other. With Grace, every part of your make up and hair works together to create a complete look. If this review is super long, it’s because I really appreciate the kindness Grace showed towards me. She went out of her way to make me feel beautiful on my wedding day. I think I researched every single makeup artist from OC to LA and then back again. Save yourself the time and just choose Grace because there is truly no one better.
