About this vendor
We’re proud of the place the Grand Traverse Pie Company calls home. It is a land defined by the seasons, influenced and inspired by water, wind, snow, and sun. A land of bounty that goes far beyond our famous cherries. First and foremost, we are pie makers. Pie is a celebration of family and tradition, neatly and deliciously packaged in a flaky crust. Our passion is to recreate those memorable “pie moments” from long ago. Our bakers take great pride in crafting each or our pies by hand and baking them slowly until they are just right. Like our grandmothers, they have the “eye for pie.” To that end, we celebrate pie.

The Brighton location helped us with our pies! They did a beautiful job! The reason for 1 star off is because we initially booked through the Rochester location, and we were not contacted by the company when they closed. We ended up calling Brighton, and they were able to help pick up our order that we already had reserved. I am so glad they helped us though! They were very organized and provided helpful advice with how many pies to order.
We loved using Grand Traverse Pie Company for our wedding deserts! They were absolutely delicious and we got so many compliments on them. Many of our guests were impressed with the natural sweetness of the pies and how fresh the fruit tasted! Working with the staff at GTPie was very easy (via both email and phone) and they made the pick-up process simple. We did an assortment of the 9’’ pies and displayed them on glass pie stands in our reception space. We loved that they baked our initials and little hearts into some of the pies. It was a really fun alternative to cake - and much more affordable!
We had GTPC in Norton Shores cater pie for our wedding dessert. The original catering person was IMPOSSIBLE to work with (did not return phone calls or emails, lost our order, etc).
I finally called and talked to a manager... that catering person left the company and the manager went leaps and bounds to try and make up for the stress. She added hearts to our pies free of charge, helped us find the right options for guests with allergies, and worked quickly.
The pies were delicious and our guests loved them. We are grateful for the customer service that went into fixing the issues at the start!
These pies are so delicious! We served a variety of pies for our wedding from Grand Traverse Pie Co. and all our guests enjoyed them to the very last piece! I would definitely recommend TCPC for any easy but delightful dessert option for a wedding!! Thank you!
We used the location in Grand Rapids and could not have been more pleased! To start with, we stopped into the store a few months in advance to talk to someone about placing a wedding order. They were happy to help and asked us to pick out 5 flavors. Those flavors then magically manifested into 5 slices of pie for us to try, completely free of charge! My husband to this day still says pie tasting was his favorite part of wedding planning. Then a few months later, once we had completely settled on all of our dessert selections, I called the store to place the order. The women who took my order repeated everything back to me and took my payment. Two days later, I called to confirm everything with one of the managers, Mike. He was very helpful, and even credited us back the cost of a pie for ordering more than 13. They handled delivery to our venue on the day of the wedding as well, free of charge.
All in all, we had about 1.5 servings of dessert per guest and were left with only 4 pie tins that had less than a 1/4 of the pie in each. Our guests couldn't stop raving about these pies! Thank you GTPC, we were very satisfied customers.
We had three flavors of pies are our wedding from Grand Traverse Pie Company and they were the perfect addition to our big day! Everyone loved them and it was an affordable option to add with our cake.
Could not have been more thrilled with GTPC and our decision to go with pie over cake! We did a combination of apple crumb (our personal favorite) and pumpkin pies for our late October wedding! Our guests LOVED the idea and raved about how delicious the pie was! They were so easy to work with and super friendly! They helped to make our day everything we wanted & we highly recommend working with them! Affordable & fantastic!!! Yum.
We decided to serve pies instead of cake in order to tie in our love for Traverse City. We received nothing by compliments and they were a great conversation piece.
We went with Grand Traverse Pie Company for a few reasons for our wedding pie, in lieu of cake. First, they're a Michigan company, which is very important to us. Second, they have locations all across the state, including down the street from our venue. Third, we can always go back on our anniversary for their ABC pie (our wedding pie). We had an assortment of 4 different kinds of pie, for 200 people, at an absolutely amazing price. Our guests were thrilled to have something other than traditional wedding cake, and the staff at GTPC was incredibly accommodating. Getting our pie here was by far one of our best decisions!
I work in downtown TC and frequent the Pie Company on a weekly basis. We had a fall wedding and pies from the pie co was a no-brainer. We ordered 10 pies for our 50 guests and it was so delicious. Jason was super helpful and easy going and made ordering so easy. We only had to order about 10 days in advance. We had a friend pick the pies up and deliver them, but they do deliver also!
We purchased pies from here for our wedding and they were amazing! They decorated the pies to incorporate our wedding theme, and their pies are so delicious! They do a great job. Highly recommend.
I have always loved GTPC as I grew up in Northern Michigan. I wanted to do something different from the traditional wedding cake, not to mention I don't really like cake, so pie it was. My guest LOVED that there was something other than cake and loved all the flavors. Definitely a hit!
We had a dessert bar at our wedding and ordered 4 different types of pies and paid for them 2 months before the wedding. When my mother called 2 days before she was told they did not have an order. After calling multiple employees they finally tracked down our order. However when we recieved them the day of the wedding, the order was wrong. We only recieved 2 types and only got half our order. They were not organized and we would not have even had these, had we not confirmed with them. We used Grand Traverse in Okemos, MI
Pie was such a fun alternative at our wedding, everyone loved it.
We had blueberry and lemon meringue pies at our wedding and they were WONDERFUL! Everything was delicious, service was great and affordable!
Pie was a hit! Way cheaper then cake
We had pies for our fall wedding (with gelato) instead of cake and it was amazing!
We had a fall wedding and decided on Pie, we had a quoted price almost a year before hand, a new manager was in place when we actually ordered, same price, no delivery charge due to being very close to their shop, pre sliced pies except for our ceremonial one, 5 different flavors. We were able to come in for lunch and try various full slices of pies for free to pick our flavors. Great!!!
everyone loved the pies!
We decided to have pie at our wedding instead of cake because we both love pie. True, it meant we had to use forks for the traditional cutting of the "cake" and feeding it to each other, but that was no big deal because it was delicious! We may have gone with a bit fancier of a bakery, but we had 350 people coming and at $10/pie, Grand Traverse Pie Company was hard to beat. They have great selection too, and if I remember correctly, delivery was free.
I am allergic to dairy, and therefore can't eat any cake made with butter or milk or anything like that. No cake company I contacted was even willing to make a cake without real butter or milk products. So instead, we decided to have PIE!
The GTPie Co has a huge variety of pies to choose from, and their "crumb top" pies use shortening instead of real butter, so I can eat them! So we got 2 dozen pies in an assortment of flavors, with an assortment of both traditional and crumb-top crusts. They were a HUGE hit at the wedding - our guests loved the variety!
Also, the staff at the pie company was OUTSTANDING! Both on the phone and in person, everyone we dealt with was so friendly, welcoming, and helpful. We also highly recommend stopping in at the downtown traverse location (can you say ambiance!) to have lunch and sample different pies to choose for the wedding. Their chicken pot pies, soups, sandwiches, and coffee & tea are all sensationally good as well!
Also, the cost for pies for 150 people was probably a third of what a traditional wedding cake would have cost. We are so happy we decided not to be traditional with this one! We HIGHLY recommend these pies in place of cake!
