We got married here on 12.18.21 and did the Elopement Package and it definitely exceeded our expectations. It was such a relaxing and perfect long weekend. Carly was so easy to work with and the whole team at the Gunflint Lodge was so nice and made us feel very welcome. The Romantic Cabin we stayed at was perfect as a "mini-moon" spot where we could relax in the tub and pop over to the lodge to have some hot chocolate and great food. Not to mention the fact that this is on the edge of the BWCA (aka great outdoor activities year round) - could you ask for anything more? :)
We got married on 10.12.20 at Gunflint Lodge and it was magical! Although this was not Plan A or B, we are incredibly happy with the day. We had our first look photos near the lake next to our cabin, the ceremony on the dock, bride & groom photos at Lookout Point and Lonely Lake, cocktail hour on the Lakeside patio, our reception inside Justine's with a small group of our closest friends and immediate family, followed by a lakeside bonfire. The Gunflint staff were incredibly gracious and patient considering the wedding was planned in 7 short weeks! The food was delicious and the cabins served as a great rustic getaway. Thank you to all who worked so hard!
We stayed here for our honeymoon in October. The weather was too cold/rainy to do any of the outdoor activities that we had planned such as hiking, canoeing, boating, etc, but we still enjoyed our stay here. The lodge was cozy and the fireplace gave off a ton of heat! I loved it. The bar/restaurant staff was also nice.
We stayed at an odd time, too late for the zipline to be open and too early for snow on the ground. But the staff was very friendly, and the cabin was very cozy. We were bummed the fine dining restaurant was only open on the weekends, so we did end up checking out one day early to find a nice steak restaurant. If the weather had been less of a rain/snow mix, I'm sure we would have done some hiking. We plan to go back sometime during their peak summer season.
We honeymooned in cabin 25 at the Gunflint Lodge. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The main lodge was beautiful and fully stocked with games, sofas, and a bar/restaurant. It was perfect. Our cabin had fireplace with wood split and ready. A huge whirlpool tub. A fully equipped kitchen. Hiking trails near by. Beautiful views. Peace and quiet. Best of all... no cellphone reception.
I don't even know how to describe this place! The people were so nice, the cabin was so beautiful and write on the lake front. The food was amazing. Out of the 15 meals we ate there we did not have a single meal to complain about. We had access to canoes, kayaks, motor boats, horse back riding and trails. There were some beautiful falls that we found and it was fun to be on the Canadian border. I would highly recommend this as a honeymoon location!
