Gurney's Montauk Resort & Seawater Spa

WARNING: the rates for this venue have over DOUBLED for the 2022 year. They bate and switch, providing the 2021 rates to lure us in to see the venue, which are a fraction of what they plan to charge for 2022, then when we drove hours to tour the space, after a tour they dropped a bomb on us that they have raised the rates making this venue on a price comparison to the Cirpriani in NYC (HAHAHA). The best part is that the difference in what they offer is so obscure that the manager could not even explain it to us. She said that they are now offering "blow out" weddings, with a "top of the line chef," however she does not even have a menu to show as an example with the specific differences. If you are inquiring about 2022, make sure you ask for a 2022 price list and good luck!

Trying to document why funds to this hotel should be refused, rejected and withheld is equivalent to describing why Weimar Germany in 1939 didn’t understand why they were breeding the worst amongst them. From the outset this location was discriminatory. We were the only gay couple in the hotel, and despite arriving at 2PM they allowed 2 other parties to check into rooms that were in the same “floor” as us. This hotel has ~200 rooms. I reserved a room with the name “Deluxe Suite, Ocean View”. They placed us in 1 of 8 rooms that face the parking lot of the hotel itself. Said another way - they put us in the worst room possible in the hotel despite paying for something else. Calling the room we stayed in “a suite” of any kind is a joke - it was a basic room in every way. The room given to us was in disrepair. The curtains did not work and the bathroom had not been cleaned. The hotel refused to repair anything in the room. They did not clean the room throughout our stay, and did not give us an in-room dining menu despite asking for it several times. Even getting ice from them was a challenge - I had to go to the lobby and plead with them several times before they would send a bucket of ice. More, the room acting as a parking lot for the building on top of it - loud noises would come from our ceiling at all hours of the day. Even at breakfast, I needed to wait 25 minutes (and after 5 other groups before me) to get my meal - all with them making looks at me. Not only did they not allow me beach access or restaurant seating because of who I I’m - this location used my money as a way to degrade me and make me feel like less than a human. What this establishment does is clear - prioritize white, straight, men and push everyone else aside. In the age of Covid-19 for them to purposely degrade or refuse services from me is astonishing and hurtful. Shame on them. This should not be an establishment that can be allowed to take the Amex card. More, this is not an establishment that should be allowed to continue operating.

I cannot say enough about this venue and about the staff. We had the most amazing wedding at Gurneys in Sept. The facility is gorgeous and right on the beach. The food and drinks are amazing. We also had kosher guests which Gurneys was able to easily accommodate. The views from the tent are gorgeous and feels like you're at a destination wedding. We saw many venues probably about 20-30 and Gurneys was by far the most beautiful - it was marginally more expensive than other venues but worth every penny as you receive so much for your money, its top notch. Montauk is also great because in addition to Gurneys there are lots of things to do and places to hangout for guests. I am sure that our wedding would not have been the same without Ginny. She is basically your wedding fairy god-mother. Up until our wedding, all of Ginny's emails totally alleviated my wedding anxiety. She helped us coordinate everything right before the wedding, answering emails at all hours and available for phone calls. When we arrived prior to our wedding, we came in quite late, close to 9pm and Ginny stayed late just to welcome us at the door with champagne. She helped us coordinate absolutely everything; seating charts, places for pictures, areas for families to gather etc. She was there the whole day of our wedding from morning up until our after party. You feel that are in amazing hands with Ginny and that she will make sure everything goes smoothly and she did just that and so much more! I also asked her to make a birthday cake for my husband the day of the wedding and she was able to miraculously make it happen with the chef, but would've driven into town if she couldn't. It's obvious that she loves her job and is so sweet and wonderful you feel like she's family at the end of it. I truly cannot say enough. I am so grateful for Ginny!! We also need to mention Danielle as she was the person who initially showed us the venue and helped us plan everything (menu, vendors, seating etc) up until Ginny took over. Danielle is so sweet and gets things DONE. I bombarded her with so many questions/calls/emails and she was literally answering all our emails up until she went into labor. She is the best!! Gurneys is an amazing venue and we would have our wedding here a million times over. I am sure it would not have been the same without Ginny and Danielle. Thank you so much!!!

We just recently got married at Gurneys in the beginning of November and I can't say enough good things about this venue! From start to finish throughout the whole weekend of the wedding, I felt so taken care of. Leading up to the big day, Danielle was so accommodating and patient with all of our requests, questions, and planning. As the day approached and throughout the weekend of our wedding, Ginny was amazing! She was so efficient, sweet, and made everything stress free. Ginny handled every detail and made sure nothing was overlooked to make everything perfect. The rest of the staff was also so wonderful and professional. In addition the the dedicated team, the venue itself is spectacular and you can't meet those ocean views!

We just got married at Gurneys in the Top Deck. Ginny and Danielle made our wedding day unforgettable. Danielle handled all of our pre wedding requests and coordinating from the wedding tasting to seating. And working with Ginny made the day of so smooth and stress free. She even helped squeeze me in for a last minute pedicure when the spa was booked the night before the wedding! We also had our welcome bonfire the night before at the beach with Gurneys and it was magical.

We had the most wonderful experience working with the entire Gurney’s team to plan our dream wedding and the special day was just that, our dream wedding. We couldn’t have imagined a more amazing team team to work with during our wedding planning process. Wedding planning can be extremely stressful and it was such a relief that we had the entire Gurney’s team to lean on throughout the planning process. Danielle, our wedding coordinator, was there with us from start to finish. Every question we had, every concern we raised, Danielle was there to ensure we had all the information we needed. She was so patient with us and really worked with us to ensure the wedding was exactly what we envisioned and within the budget we had set - which is something that is so important when working with a wedding venue. Brian, and the entire catering staff, were absolutely tremendous. The day of our wedding tasting stands out to us and our families as one of the funnest times of the wedding planning process. They were so helpful with the menu and catered to special requests and allergies. Most importantly, the food did not feel like “wedding” food or “catered” food it felt and tasted like a five-star restaurant. So many of our guests absolutely raved about the food selection at our wedding - from the cocktail hour display, which was out of this world, to the three-course plated dinner, which included the most perfectly cooked filet mignon, at the reception. And maybe more importantly they kept our guests drinking all night long!! Ginny, our bridal attendant, was out of this world amazing. Her energy was so contagious and she kept us so excited the weeks leading up to the big day and most importantly the big day itself. Ginny sent us amazing tips and reminders leading up to the wedding day, which was so appreciated and extremely helpful. We were in the Hamptons the week leading up to the wedding and upon arrival Ginny made us feel overly welcome and catered to our every need. Most importantly and impressively, she ensured the day of the wedding went off seamlessly and when any problems arose she jumped right in and took charge to ensure nothing fell on our shoulders. Ginny was always there, anything we needed during the day of the wedding, any question that we had or concern we raised Ginny was always there. Not just there but there with a smile on her face. We can’t say more great things about Gurney’s - we highly recommend choosing them for your special event. We would do it all over again if we could!

I just got married 4/26/19 and there are not enough words to describe how INCREDIBLE Gurney's Montauk Resort & Seawater Spa is!! From the time my husband and I booked our wedding at Gurney's (with the help of Danielle, Catering Sales Manager) we were made to feel so special. Danielle was beyond kind, professional, and organized! She consistently followed up with us and always showed genuine excitement about our wedding. Leading up to the wedding I worked more closely with Ginny, the Bridal & Catering Manager, who has an amazing ability to make you feel so comforted, loved, and CALM (which is huge with all the pre-wedding jitters). I was beyond grateful to have Ginny by my side! Ginny communicated consistently, answered all my questions, and was always thinking ten steps ahead. The work that the ENTIRE TEAM at Gurney's put into making our wedding day so special was obvious to us and ALL of our family and friends. The staff at Gurney's knows how to leave an impression on their guests; for example, welcoming us with champagne, upgrading our room, and even smiling ear to ear when packing up our car. Between the hospitable staff, gourmet food, and breathtaking ocean views, there is no better place to celebrate the best day of your life!!! p.s. if your wedding timeline allows it, I recommend taking advantage of the spa as well! The best couple's massage I ever had!

My husband and I just got married at Gurney's this past weekend and it was nothing short of incredible. The entire staff was so unbelievably accommodating, welcoming and friendly. Working with Danielle and Ginny was such a pleasure. They both made sure I was calm and had absolutely nothing to worry about. The entire process from start to finish went so smoothly. Any adjustments that had to be made the day of due to weather challenges were handled so quickly and gracefully. It is such a beautiful location and the food and amenities are 5 star. I highly recommend this venue.

I just had my wedding at Gurneys Saturday, November 10th and it was a dream. There are no words to describe how amazing and picture perfect the wedding turned out from start to finish, and it could not of been done without Danielle, Ginny, and the entire staff behind the scenes. From the moment we booked the venue until the after wedding brunch, Danielle and Ginny were extraordinarily helpful and thought of everything to make our day perfect. I can not recommend Gurneys enough, and thank the team for all of the efforts for our dream wedding.

Phenomenal! The Gurney's team (Danielle, Jenny and Michael) did an amazing job from start to finish on my wedding. They are very organized and helpful. I was so happy with how my wedding turned out as they bent over backwards for me and always had a great attitude. The team was a pleasure to work with and was able to make my dream wedding come to life. Highly reccomend this venue and team.

We hosted our wedding at Gurneys and I had helped plan another person's wedding their as well. The team is amazing and the entire staff is always warm and hospitable. Danielle was always very helpful with all of the planning, details and logistics. Ginny was a rockstar the few days leading up and day of. We could not have asked for a better team to help us celebrate the best weekend of our lives. We cannot wait to go back!

My husband and I only looked at one venue which was Gurney's and we were sold. It was everything we could have possibly wanted and more. Danielle and Ginny were awesome throughout the process up to the actual day of itself. Our wedding day exceeded all expectations that we had. Everyone raved about how amazing the food was, starting with cocktail hour. The servers and bartenders were awesome and there were no hiccups throughout the night. I can't say enough amazing things about Gurneys in general. We have stayed at Gurneys many times, used the spa and ate at all the restaurants inside and never have we had a bad experience. It has the most stunning views, great staff and food- what more could you possibly ask for?

Gurneys was a fantastic choice for a wedding. The planner Ginny was professional and incredibly in control of all the details. We had BbQ on the beach evening before for rehearsal and was casual and perfect. It helped having a gorgeous evening. The venue for the wedding was beautiful and although the morning of poured , based on the weather apps , we stressfully made the decision to have ceremony outside. The staff wiped chairs until the event and we thankfully made the best decision. Cocktails hours food we heard was excellent especially sushi. Reception requires a costly tent but necessary. Evening flowed perfectly and was really a beautiful event- obviously flowers, decor ,rentals ,music all contribute and are very integral to making a tent seem warm, special and stunning! Ours did! Would recommend it - just could be risky with weather.

My husband and I recently had a wedding at Gurneys Montauk this past June. Like many couples our wedding was the best day of our lives! We searched many venues out East and initially we did not think we could even afford Gurneys! After much research we realized that it was not far off from many of the places we considered! The extra cost was WORTH every penny! From the FOOD, the ambiance and service it was nothing short of perfect!! Danielle who is their sales manager worked diligently with my husband and I to ensure not one detail was missed! Ginny our day of coordinator was everything and then some! These two know the business and what it takes to have such a successful wedding. They truly CARE about your experience. To be able to have the both of them supporting us and helping make our day as perfect as it was - WAS PRICELESS. Our guests to this day (1 month later) cannot stop talking about how memorable our weekend was! There are so many things to think of when planning a wedding and Gurneys makes sure that everything you want is executed! Thank you so much Gurneys!!!

Can we do it all again?! :) Our wedding and experience planning our wedding with Gurneys was nothing short of exquisite! We had a beautiful Deck Ceremony, Cocktail Hour and Spa Deck Ceremony. Danielle Sherley was a gem starting with our first meeting and then guided us through the planning process with grace and ease. Ginny Davis, the bridal coordinator made everything on our wedding day absolutely perfect. She’s amazing!! The ENTIRE staff is fantastic... they truly made our day personal, smooth, and top notch. No detail is forgotten at Gurneys and there is nothing like the ocean views! :)

I know it sounds cliche, but my wedding was the best day of my life, and I couldn't have done it without the extremely talented and outstanding staff at Gurney's. We hosted our Rehearsal Dinner, Ceremony & Reception and Farewell Brunch at Gurney's. I also utilized the Spa services for hair, make up and a pedicure. Everything was flawless and simply enhanced my big day. I wish so much that I could go back and relive it. I planned my own wedding, and while it was totally manageable and I loved every second of it, it was extremely reassuring and helpful to have Ginny (Virginia Davis) and Danielle assisting me every step of the way. Danielle is a kind and organized soul who you will love working with! She always answers your questions in their entirety and is great at following up, but also allows you enough time to respond so you don't feel chased down. Additionally, she is amazing with logistics and knows how to deal with last minute changes. Ginny (Virginia Davis) is an absolute treasure. From the moment we first interacted, she greeted me with warmth and excitement. Her passion for her job is so obvious to me, and it was such a treat to work with a woman as skilled and happy as her. While I was fine being my own wedding planner, I loved having Ginny at the day of the event, so that I could take a step back and enjoy it. She was fantastic and gathering our families at the right moments and being the liaison between the band, the families, the guests and all the vendors all together. She made sure the night went as smoothly as possible and I was amazed to see her hanging out all the way until the end of the reception. You can tell she is very dedicated to her job and it truly shows. At the end of the night, she escorted my groom and myself back to our rooms where she had carefully assembled a heart made of flower petals on our bed. Wow! It felt good to be surprised after a night of a years worth of planning. Additionally, Divina and Christina in the salon are true artists. They carefully listen to your interests, aesthetic and comments and work with you to create a beautiful and picture perfect look. I was ESPECIALLY impressed with Divina's handling of my wedding day hair. I never planned to do an updo, and she landed on my gorgeous hair style after pinning it up to give Christina more real estate for the make up. I was so glad that she accidentally did this because I kept it up for the ceremony and ended up taking it down at the reception. Even though it was an accident, I have never felt more beautiful in my life! Thank you so much!! And then, at the reception, I put my hair down following careful instructions that Divina gave me and the hair was immaculate. If you're on the fence about booking Gurney's for your wedding stop right now and book it! Working with Gurney's means you're going to have a gorgeous backdrop to all your photos, an immaculate venue, DELICIOUS FOOD (Seriously! The best food I've ever had at a wedding), and a warm and talented staff who are not only professionals but also kind and thoughtful human beings who want to help you have a night to remember.

Everything about our wedding weekend at Gurney's Montauk was picture perfect. From the unforgettable location to the incomparable service, Gurney's Montauk literally took our breath away. It was everything my husband and I could of dreamed of and more. Every detailed was precisely executed and handled with great care. I literally had the BEST night and weekend of my life at my wedding at Gurney's! We went the wed before our wedding on a Saturday and really enjoyed friends and family by the fire pit every night and Scarpetta dinners! I was really expecting for a few things to go wrong at the wedding as these things happen, but my wedding was PERFECT without ANY mishaps. Ginny, the wedding planner was SO amazing and went way over and beyond. She spoke to me months before the wedding ensuring that everything was handled and would go smoothly...and it did! She was with me every part of that day and really made sure my husband and I were at ease and had everything we needed. We are still getting calls and texts a month later that tit was the best wedding ever! Last, we did add the raw seafood bar for cocktail hour and it was really impressive...tons of lobster, oysters, shrimp, crab-- it was beyond what I thought I would get (coming from a family in the food industry it was a worry of mine initially). The food was amazing and really didn't taste like a crummy wedding meal. Their cake vendor also made a delicious cake (usually I don't like wedding cake). All in all this is the PERFECT venue to have a wedding and Ginny is an absolute doll and makes the whole process completely seamless!

We had our rehearsal dinner, ceremony, and reception at Gurney’s at the end of August 2017. Everything was perfect, from start to finish. We worked with Peter and Samantha during the planning process. They were prompt in answering any questions and extremely helpful with everything. The food throughout both the rehearsal dinner and the wedding was delicious. Ginny, the bridal attendant, was absolutely wonderful. She worked along with my day of coordinator to make sure the day went absolutely perfectly and that I didn’t have to worry about a thing. I can’t say enough good things about her. We had the most perfect wedding day. It was a dream. And it was that way because of Gurney’s!

Gurney's is truly a dreamy, once-in-a-lifetime venue. From the moment we stepped on the property, we knew other venues would pale in comparison (and they did). Our team (Peter, Marinela, Samantha, and Ginny) took excellent care of us from the early stages of planning to seeing us off the day after the wedding. Even with subpar weather (what we expected for a late April wedding), our guests were completely amazed by the property and the level of service they experienced at Gurney's, both as hotel and wedding guests. Our families and friends continue to rave about the cocktail hour, reception, and after party on site. We will remember this day fondly and hope to come back often. A special thank you to my bridal coordinator, Ginny, who truly goes above and beyond to ensure that every moment that you are at Gurney's (and away! She even called to check in on me that morning at the beauty salon in town) runs smoothly. I only wish we could do it all again. Thank you!

While Gurney's is a beautiful venue, we attribute these stars to Ginny, who macguyvered every mishap and served as a calming energy from the moment we stepped on the premises. She truly is a wedding angel and anyone would be lucky to work with her. Also-- Divina in the salon is a masterful hair artist and even checked in on my hair post ceremony to make sure I was happy. The food was delicious and the cake looked impressively like the photo I sent. The only difficulties we had were reserving the room blocks. (The hotel acts as a separate entity and it could get stressful if you have a lot of guests you are trying to accommodate) and our original wedding coordinator quit mid process which left us in radio silence for a few weeks-- not fun while planning a wedding!

Our unforgettable wedding on September 25th is still raved by our guests, "the best wedding, ever!". The wedding manager, Peter was extremely accommodating; he and his team worked with us through every detail to make us happy. We had our party moving around -- from the ceremony deck overlooking the ocean to Scarpetta, the main restaurant, to Regent club for the after-party, then to the beach for the bonfire -- so the guests can enjoy the beauty of the whole venue. They were utterly impressed. Our wine and food selection were exquisite, along with their top-notch services to our guests. The whole experience was sophisticated, beautiful, and memorable.

I could not imagine a more perfect setting for my Fall wedding weekend! I hosted two events at Gurney's - a welcome bonfire on Friday night, with food and drinks, and our wedding on Saturday. The details of both were executed perfectly - the guests raved about the food and the service and were SO impressed with the property. The renovations are absolutely breathtaking - it is such a beautiful place to spend a weekend and had SO many amenities for guests - from spa and salon services, to great options for dining and drinking. The Gurney's staff were friendly, accommodating, hardworking and professional and completely nailed the vision I had for my wedding. Peter Pizarro and Ginny were our main contacts with the hotel, they were very accommodating to our requests and wanted to make our weekend special. For example, the pastry chef honored my request for a funfetti cake and even came to greet me after the cake cutting to make sure I was happy with it. He was so proud of his work and happy that he was able to deliver on my request. My guests are still raving about our wedding at Gurney's - it is such a special place to be married and I can't recommend this venue enough. Thank you to Peter and Ginny and the rest of the team for helping bring my dream wedding to life!

The rooms were all recently remodeled and revamped. They are modern and classy. I felt like I was on vacation immediately and the view from the balcony in the room was spectacular!

Overall the venue was very good. The location and view cannot be beat. There were a lot of transformations going on during my wedding time. The venue just got bought by a new NYC company and mass renovations were being done. At times the staff were very hard to reach and they did not stick to the original prices they quoted us for (esp room rates) but the day of the wedding was great. Ginny was so wonderful in making myself and the groom's vision come to life. She dealt with us the most and was very honest and straight forward. Food was okay. I think they still have some work to do on that department.

John and I married at Gurneys on 04-12-15, and it was a day everyone will always remember! Beach wedding, tent cocktail hour, reception in designated room and bonfire! We suggest doing it all! Amazing day/night! Beautiful views from every angle, our guests enjoyed indoor and outdoor views! Mrs. Ginny and Ana made our wedding perfect, Thank You again to everyone who helped make our day PERFECT!

Ginny and Ana at Gurney's are literally a dream team when it comes to planning a wedding. When my husband and I got engaged we knew we wanted a Montauk wedding, but weren't sure where. While Gurney's has an amazing location, has been renovated beautifully, has incredible food, and many other awesome features- it was having Ginny and Ana as a part of our wedding experience that really sealed the deal. They worked with us (and our parents) on every single one of our needs, and there were many! We spent a few days at Gurney's before the wedding and fell in love with the rest of the staff. The all made us feel like we were so special. The whole experience was so amazing.. we can't wait to go back to visit!

Great wedding

I got married there in June 2014 - Everything Gurney's had to offer was amazing - the staff was incredible, very detailed - especially the wedding coordinator Virginia Davis - she is simply the best and made the whole process easy and stress free. The views are breathtaking. We got married on the beach, had our cocktail hour under one of their tented decks and the reception in their ballroom. The night before we also had our rehearsal dinner there - a lobster bake. Our guests loved it and then at 8:30pm, when the sun was setting we had a private bonfire on the beach for 3 hours. I couldn't be happier that we chose to have our wedding at Gurney's.
