Our cake was absolutely delicious and VERY affordable. Lauren at Haydel's worked with us to create the design that we wanted -- a deconstructed layered cake with different flavor options -- and we LOVED it! We heard so many compliments on how great it tasted and we thought it was beautiful! We also ordered handpies from here as a wedding favor and they were all gone at the end of the night. We loved everything about working with Haydels and recommend them highly!

Stephanie at Haydel's went above and beyond to work with us on orchestrating their first groom's cake that would be two different college stadiums in one cake, half LSU Tiger Stadium and the other half FSU Doak Campbell Stadium. She also helped us with our mini king cakes that we gave as welcome gifts to our guests staying at The Westin for our Room block. Our wedding cake was absolutely gorgeous too! Both of our cakes were absolutely amazing and they tasted delicious! We had so many compliments on the cake, they are the best! We highly recommend Haydel's Bakery!

I had several guests text me the following day asking about the cake. It was incredibly delicious!!! It felt like I was eating a piece of a cloud. Our top layer only partially made it to the freezer, we couldn't stop sneaking pieces! 11/10, would recommend!!

Haydel’s provided both our wedding cake and grooms cake. The whole process was easy and wonderful. We met with Cindy at the bakery where she was able to help us bring our vision to life. We did the original white almond cake with different fillings for each tier and the grooms cake was chocolate and red velvet. We got many compliments on how delicious both cakes were. The decorating was perfection as well. I highly recommend Haydel’s for your next cake!

Haydels provided the wedding cake and groom's cake for our May 2023 wedding. Both cakes tasted phenomenally! They were delivered timely and intact. I was not impressed with the cake testing process. We met with a representative at the bakery and talked size and pricing. We did not taste on site, that day. We were sent home with a plate of small pieces of cake to try and pick filling flavors. Communicating with the bakery was challenging, as well. When I would call, I'd be left on hold for a long time and sometimes not be answered at all. They were also slow to respond to emails. All and all, we were satisfied with the cakes not so much the before process.

Not only did our wedding cake look picture perfect, it was SO DELICIOUS. Haydel's really does everything right. Our wedding guests really enjoyed the cakes. (We also had a German chocolate groom's cake that made my husband and all the other chocolate lovers super happy. ) A special shout out to Lauren at Haydel's for being so knowledgeable, kind, and fun when helping us! We went to Haydels for our groom's cake. We decided on the carrot cake and it was delicious. However, we did have some issues leading up to the wedding day. First, they put down the wrong type of cake twice. Then they double charged my card and I had to call to correct this. Lastly, my cake order for my husband was rather simple, yet they still messed up some of the details. I would still recommend them, however, I would make sure to stay in constant contact with them and clarify all the details several times.

I love Haydel’s king cakes, so we decided to look into their wedding cakes. I cannot recommend them highly enough. Every single person at Haydel’s was kind, professional, and eager to make our cakes as perfect as possible. We ordered both the traditional wedding cake and groom’s cake from Haydel’s, and both were spectacular. The traditional wedding cake had a praline pecan filling, and it was absolutely delicious. The groom’s cake had a pineapple filling, and it was also very delicious. The decorations on both cakes were perfect. For the groom’s cake, we provided the decorations, and they placed them on the cake. You don’t have to do this—there’s many designs and decor that they can make for you—but this was the best choice to create a backyard bird bonanza cake for our bird watcher groom. Bottom line: We love Haydel’s. 💜💚💛

We had a classic traditional tiered cake white icing with black detail! It was sooo fancy and omg EVERYONE said how the cake melted in your mouth. People contacted us after the wedding to comment on the cake soo yea they're good. Worked with them as a part of my venues contracted vendors (federal ballroom) Thanks so so much!

They did our Wedding Cake, Groom's Cake, and individually wrapped Hand Pies for our guests to take home as a treat! everything they provided was beautiful and tasty! Haydel's made the most delicious wedding cake, and I am already looking forward to devouring our frozen top tier. We got an almond cake with pineapple filling and it was so good. The almond flavor was nice and subtle. We didn't get to try the chocolate and buttercream layer but heard it was great as well. We also enjoyed working with Emily at Haydel's. She was very responsive and helpful throughout the whole process, and made it easy!

Do NOT, do NOT, do NOT choose this vendor... Absolutely horrible experience with the cake. I spent weeks with about 80 emails passed back and forth with the coordinator at the Jefferson Hwy location and even went in for the meeting. I gave a VERY simple image of a wedding cake which I was charged $400 for... My fiance went to pick it up the day before...and it was NOTHING like the picture. It was hot pink and light blue like a gender reveal cake. When my family called about the frustration and I sent an email, they offered to have us bring it in to fix it the DAY of the wedding which has 50+ miles away. No offers of delivery assistance even if it was out of "the range" and all they gave was $90 off the original price. And to make matter worse, we tried to cut it in the back so people wouldn't see it. NO ONE would even eat the cake because they said it tasted like garlic....GARLIC when the flavors chosen were praline and Irish cream. Please do not chose this vendor when there are hundreds of talented cake bakers that would actually go the extra mile for a wedding day.

Haydel's went above and beyond to make sure both our wedding cake and the groom's cake was perfect! Both cakes tasted delicious. The design of both cakes was exactly what we wanted! Haydel's answered all of our questions and made everything easy. We did not have to worry about a thing. We will continue to recommend Haydel's in the future to other couples and will continue to eat their other yummy desserts!

Haydel Bakery staff was really easy to work with. They were responsive with communication. Our wedding cake was delicious, moist, and beautiful. I will note one issue, I did request to have fleur de lis designs added to 2 layers of the cake and they did not remember to do this. BUT the cake was beautiful regardless of this oversight.

Haydel’s did a fantastic job with our wedding cake! We ate leftovers for a week and I'm already looking forward to next year when we get to break out our frozen top tier. Jeanine and the rest of the Haydel’s staff were incredibly professional, easy to work with, and adaptable when we had to postpone and then downsize our original wedding. Our cake was beautiful and delicious! Would highly recommend!

Jeanine & staff at Haydel's were wonderful to work with during the planning (& replanning - thanks COVID) of our wedding. The cake was beautiful & delicious! Spectacular!!! From the planning, to phone calls, to finally getting to eat the cake, Haydels is THE BEST! Cindy was an absolute dream to work with and could not have made this covid bride feel more at ease. Our cake was absolutely stunning and we received so many complements on how great it was! People are still talking about my husbands three tiered King Cake! We also purchased the individually wrapped hand pies as welcome gifts, we have guests ordering them and getting shipped to Texas now! Haydels will always hold a special place in our heart!!

HAYDELS IS WONDERFUL. Our cakes were absolutely delicious. I honestly wish i was able to eat more of it. My husband got a cookie cake two tiered with all different types of cookies and he loved it. My cake was 5 tiers and was buttercream and was very moist and yummy. I would highly recommend working with Haydels for your wedding cake needs!

We purchased our wedding cake along with 200 cookies for our groom’s cookie bar for the wedding reception. Emily was very helpful describing all of our options during the cake tasting appointment. She was also very prompt with email correspondence about cake designs and possibilities. The cake was beautiful, delicious and the guests loved it. You could smell the cookie bar when you walked by, and it was destroyed before the reception even began! Thanks, Emily, for your help and correspondence during the wedding planning.

With the stress of wedding planning, and traveling the very last thing we needed was stress from vendors. The cake was very beautiful. Haydel’s was a dream to work with for our wedding. I am allergic to all nuts and got worried because, in New Orleans, it’s common to use almond paste for the cake, but Haydel’s immediately understood and said they could make the cake out of pound cake, which was delicious! In our first visit, Cindy brought out slices of the cake with different fillings to try for both of us and our moms and Cindy sat with us, explaining all of the different styles of cake. Cindy was so patient and charming and it was a pleasure to work with her. At the wedding, the cake looked beautiful and our guests enjoyed it. As a Brooklyn, New York-based LGBT couple planning a wedding in New Orleans, we needed vendors who were organized and responsive and also accepting and Haydel's delivered. We would highly recommend Haydel’s as they made the cake process easy and enjoyable. (Definitely get the pineapple filling – it was our favorite!)

We had a destination wedding and very limited time to do cake tastings while in New Orleans. Haydel's tasting was the best of the bunch. When the actual cake arrived, it was even better than expected! Guests RAVED about the cake (even people who don't like cake)! It was beautiful and perfect. Everyone there was completely professional and very responsive. I'd totally order from them again!

I was disappointed in this bakery as it has been a favorite of mine for king cakes for a long time. They have restrictions to their cakes on height and what filling you can use. Can’t use raspberry filling in a chocolate cake.... says who?? There are a fair amount of the bakeries in the city can create a tall four tiered cake in almost any combination. When I told them that I wasn’t going to use them anymore and was going to go in a different direction, no one contacted me to inquire as to why. To me, this said they didn’t really care about my business as we were about as far down the line of creating this cake as you can be without paying for it. The only pro is that their wedding cakes are affordable. If your cake budget is flexible, I’d recommend going elsewhere.

Haydel's did an amazing job with everything they provided. I ordered my wedding cake, groom's cake, some hand pies for favors, and also ended up adding some "referee" cookies at the last minute (my wedding was after we got robbed in the NFC championship WHO DAT!!!). Everything turned out beautifully and tasted even better! I wanted a very simple cake and we did a king cake for the groom's cake. Haydel's is just an amazing bakery, hands down. Didn't even have to think twice about it and I mean, who doesn't love a good king cake? We gave out hand pies as favors and they were a huge hit! Perfect end of the night snack. Great pricing, everything was delivered on time, great experience all around!

We got the tiered king cake for our groom's cake, and it was so delicious. Several people said it was one of the best, if not the best, king cakes they had tasted. Haydel's was also super easy to work with from initial consult to the ordering to the dropping off the cake topper to the delivery. We would highly recommend.

I can’t rave enough about how awesome it was to plan our cakes with Emily! My now-husband and I had two meetings with Emily because a certain someone couldn’t decide what to do for his groom’s cake the first time around. Emily never made us feel rushed, and she talked us through different sizes and design options so we were able to choose the right cakes for us. I’m so thrilled that she helped us come up with a pretty distinct custom groom’s cake - a three-tiered horror movie themed masterpiece that was perfect for my groom. Our wedding cake was beautiful in the more traditional way, and both cakes were delicious! And thank you, Haydel’s, for delivering to my venue!

I was a little disappointed in Haydels. They are always my go to for any party’s, birthdays, or just when u want something sweet so it was a no brainer when I got engaged that they would be the company to make my cake. We designed our wedding cake and it came out beautiful however it was incredibly dry. So dry that it tasted awful! Both my wedding cake and the grooms cake looked beautiful but it didn’t taste good. On the most important day of our life Haydels really dropped the ball.

When I first started planning my wedding the one think I knew was that I had to have a Haydel’s wedding cake! Our cake was everything I dreamed and more! We also got the Haydel’s hand pies as a favor for our guests. Everyone LOVED the hand pies! Everything from Haydel’s was beyond perfect!

If you don’t go to Haydel’s, you’re not getting the best quality cake. The flavors are amazing, the cake is baked the day of, they have the most delicious hand pies for favors, the cake is literally a piece of heaven, and I stopped by about six times just to get a petit four so I could eat the cake before the wedding. I worked with Dana before the wedding and she dealt with all of my last minute changes with grace and always responded in a timely fashion. I went to a bridal show before going with haydels and tasted what felt like 20 different cakes, and not a single other bakery held up to them. They had the freshest cake there. Other bakery’s may be better with the intricate designs but the sacrifice the quality of the cake completely. Haydels does not and you will get the best cake ever.
