Highland Dell Lodge

Low stress thanks to Herb and Ingrid taking such great care of all of us. From moving furniture for the ceremony and following reception, to the wonderful meal, to clean up, to accommodations. They allowed us to really savor the day. The inn has such charm decorations can be kept to a minimum. There is really a great deal of bang for the buck. If you are looking for a venue for 70 or so guests I couldn't recommend Highland Dell any higher, and we looked a lot before choosing for our daughter's and son-in-laws November 5th. 2016 wedding.

We held our daughter's wedding here a few weeks ago. The owners, Herb and Ingrid, helped to make it a wonderful weekend. The wedding ceremony was held at the nearby community center. Herb set up the chairs, and then cleaned everything up afterward. The reception was held at the lodge. It is a beautiful setting. The lodge is charmingly older, but everything is well-maintained and clean. If you are looking for the blandness of a chain hotel, this isn't the place for you. If you are looking for natural beauty in a relaxed setting, this is the place! We held a reception for 100 people, who fit comfortably in the main hall and large deck, which overlooks the Russian River. There is plenty of parking available. The food was prepared in house and was delicious. We had the prime rib, onion crusted chicken breast, and vegetarian pasta. We had numerous compliments on each. Everything was fresh, beautifully presented and cooked properly--even the vegetables were cooked properly. There are many options for customizing your bar selections. The rooms in the lodge are quaint, well-maintained, and clean. I am disabled and stayed in the accessible room, which worked well for me. And, there is a ramp at the front of the lodge as well. Herb and Ingrid and their daughter were friendly, charming, and wonderful hosts. They know what they are doing, and they do it well. Herb is very well organized and has good suggestions to keep things organized and running smoothly. We were very happy that our daughter chose this establishment for her wedding weekend!

The venue is great for a small wedding. It is a beautiful lodge right on the Russian River. Everyone loved our venue and it is intimate enough for everyone to mingle. Herb and Ingrid are great. The only reason that I didn't give them 5 stars is that the communication was lacking at times such as when they would be set up or that the restaurant/bar would be close the days prior and after the wedding. It is just the little things that we would have been able to come up with some alternatives had we know. However, overall, it was a great day and they helped make is very special!!!

I booked the Highland Dell Lodge for my wedding reception. It's a lovely spot right on the Russian River with 12 sleeping rooms. They have a great dining room with high ceilings, an adjoining bar and a wall of glass doors that open onto a deck. Not only is the venue a perfect spot for a wedding reception, but the staff is incredibly friendly, accommodating and easy to work with - we had the best experience. I knew from the moment I met Herb and Ingrid, the couple that runs the lodge, that I wanted to have my wedding at the Highland Dell. They were so open about many of the ideas I had, and offered their assistance to make so many of them happen. Since we reserved all the sleeping rooms for our guests (it was so fun to have the entire wedding party and other friends stay with us at the lodge!), we were able to have the music go later the Saturday night of the wedding, and I was able to extend set-up and clean-up from Friday evening until Sunday morning. They also provided assistance in renting chairs and doing the entire set-up of our ceremony at a meadow across the way (including a mobile sound system!), even though it wasn't part of their property. Since they have a full restaurant at the lodge (with some delicious German specialties, I might add), we didn't have to worry about bringing in any additional tables, chairs, linens, etc. - the lodge took care of everything. My groom, guests and I had SUCH a wonderful time at our wedding at the Highland Dell. And the site fee is so much more reasonably priced than many of the other venues I looked at. I would highly recommend it as a wedding venue.
