Hillside Florist was one of two florists we could choose from with our venue. We are so happy we decided to go with Hillside! Everything on our wedding day was absolutely perfect.
We met with Sarah initially and she was so helpful and truly understood my vision. While our centerpieces with Hillside were already part of our venue contract, Sarah took all my pictures and visions and made them exactly what I was looking for. All of my bridesmaids bouquets were gorgeous, as well as the boutonnieres and church flowers. They delivered to three separate locations the morning of the wedding, which made everything so much easier for me. Sarah was amazing to work with and I definitely recommend Hillside!
The flowers were perfect! The team at Hillside have us exactly what we were looking for, we could not have been more happy with how they came out.
10/10 would recommend Hillside florist. I had sent a photograph of a bouquet I wanted to aim to resemble, and I could not believe the flowers on the day off. I was in complete awe - they were even more beautiful than anything I ever could have imagined. The time, effort and compassion put into the assembly of each and every arrangement was clear as day (not to mention that Ann stayed with me at the church to fluff my dress). They are amazing!
My family has used Hillside for generations so it was a no-brainer choosing them for my wedding on 8/21/21 at Cafe Escadrille in Burlington MA. Steve was great to consult with and Sarah really delivered on the arrangements - just WOW! I didn't get to see any of it until I walked down the aisle and it couldn't have been more beautiful. The arrangement I carried was a giant heavy bouquet without the cascading effect that I had asked for, but it was still absolutely beautiful. I just tilted it forward as much as possible to make it work. I love roses and Hillside did not disappoint. Stunning!
My bouquet was absolutely stunning. I never imagined it looking as beautiful as it did. Everyone was complimenting my bouquets and centerpieces all night. Thank you so so much I was beyond thrilled!
Hillside was amazing to work with. We had to move our wedding twice and our venue to a different state due to COVID and Hillside stuck with us the entire time. Our flowers were absolutely beautiful and everyone at Hillside was extremely accommodating, responsive and flexible. Couldn't have asked for a better florist for our big day!
What an amazing job they did with our wedding flowers! My family has been going to Hillside for years so I didn’t hesitate to book them for my wedding. The bouquets and arrangements were just gorgeous!
Maria is amazing! Her knowledge of flowers was flooring when I met with her 5 months before my wedding. She was incredibly creative in figuring out how to accommodate my budget without sacrificing my vision. We decided on a garland type centerpiece, using primarily greens, with pops of flowers. Although this is what I received, it didn't look exactly as discussed (we discussed it being circular, but it was assembled in more of a line type way), so I would recommend meeting with her a week or two prior to your wedding to physically see your vision come to life in a sample. My only other complaint is that my groom's boutonniere was incorrect. His was supposed to be different from the groomsmen, but it was the same. That being said, all of the flowers were fresh, full, and absolutely beautiful. I wouldn't have used anyone else!
Hillside Florist was very.. interesting - they were a preferred vendor of Tewksbury Country Club, and seemed like they would be a good fit for our wedding. Unfortunately, although Maria responded relatively quickly initially, we ended up starting off on the wrong foot. We scheduled a meeting with her before she left on vacation, and when we arrived, we were told she already left?? It was an hour and a half drive for us, so we stayed and met with Sarah instead, who was PHENOMENAL. If I could just give Sarah 5 stars, I would do it in a heartbeat. She walked us through every facet of the flowers, bouts, corsages, let us pick apart flowers and put them together to see what they looked like, helped us really craft our mental image of what we wanted - she was fantastic.
After meeting with her, Maria sent over a quote for everything. Now, I understand that my husband and I had an unconventional centerpiece (tall vases with vines/branches, flowers scattered through the vines, lilies at the opening of the vases, hanging votives and small hanging crystals from the branches, and lights in the vases) but the quote we received was HIGH. We were a little unprepared for it. Luckily, we were able to bring the price down by supplying most of the materials for it ourselves, and having Hillside provide just the flowers and assembly. Overall, they were... lackluster, compared to what we had in mind. Still beautiful! But not exactly what we asked for...
Pros
- Centerpieces were lovely
- Flowers matched decor beautifully
- Bouquets, Corsages, and Bouts were STUNNING
Cons
- Hillside somehow lost 6 of our 18 vases that we dropped off??? They provided enough to cover the tables for the wedding, but it was unnecessary stress the day before the wedding, especially when we were very organized when we brought everything down to them and went through it all when we dropped it off.
- Maria was VERY difficult to go back and forth with over email - days would pass between communications, and at one point, I sent over a specific request with an excel spreadsheet listing out all the expenses and asking her to confirm (because up until that point, everything was very scattered and confusing) and also asking how final payment was taken. She ignored the confirmation request, and simply told me where to make the check payable... And when she gave me the price, it was more than what I had on the sheet! I had to go back and review everything again and re-confirm pricing with her - again, not a deal-breaker, but unnecessary stress and wasted time.
- The centerpieces didn't meet our expectations. We were expecting far more flowers to be added in to the branches, and the vines to be spread out more like trees with the votives and crystals hanging from them. Instead, there were VERY FEW flowers (And I mean like... almost NONE), all the vines were almost completely straight up in the air, and all the hanging decorations were clustered together near the vase itself. Instead of looking elegant, it just looked a bit shoddy.
Overall, everything still came together well and we didn't let anything make our day bad, but it wasn't really a great experience working with Hillside (other than Sarah!).
They did a great job bringing my vision come to life. They were one of the vendors from my venue and I am glad I chose them over the other 2 options.
Hillside has always been our family’s go-to florist and once again they did not disappoint. To start our flower planning process, we met with Maria who oversees weddings and other special events for Hillside. We brought a few ideas and photos for reference and Maria was able to visualize just the look we were going for. She was very helpful with different flower combinations and colors to make arrangements that would look just right. She was very excited to tackle a few of the challenging arrangements we were asking her to assemble, but would give her honest opinion on execution and final product. She was very cognizant of what would hold up to the warm temperatures and travel time and made every effort to make sure our flowers stayed fresh all night and for many days to follow. The day of our wedding, the flowers were delivered and set up in a timely manner. My guests still rave about how gorgeous our flowers were! Overall, my husband and I had an amazing experience with Hillside and I would highly recommend them.
Maria at Hillside Florist was amazing. We had an idea of what we wanted, and she helped bring it to life. She showed us flowers and combinations that went along beautifully with our initial vision. On our wedding day, the centerpieces and boutinnieres (2 grooms, 4 best men) were perfect.
If I ever need flowers again for anything, the first call I make will be to Maria as Hillside Florist.
Maria was wonderful!! Since day one, she met with us and worked out the perfect wedding plan! She really helped us and was great at responding. The flowers were beautiful, and was everything I could have dreamed of. Thank you so much , and if we ever need flowers, we will for sure be back here!
Hillside Florist is amazing to work with for your wedding day needs! My bridal bouquet and (8) bridesmaids bouquets came our perfectly! Maria was wonderful to work with and I highly recommend!
The flowers were absolutely beautiful and everyone raved about them. The biggest thing I'm hung up on is that the person I had worked with and had my exact vision left the company 6 weeks prior to my wedding and I was not informed until I came in to pay the final bill.
Day of when the bridal party flowers were delivered they were NOT what I had wanted. Luckily, one of my bridesmaid's called in and within an hour new flowers were delivered and they were inline with what I had imagined.
Tammy and team are amazing!!! Tammy was so sweet to deal with and the flowers for our wedding were absolutely gorgeous!!! She totally got my visions and dos great work. Since the wedding I have been recommending them to everyone and will go there in the future.
Thank you so much Tammy and team!!
We used Hillside Florist for our April 30 wedding. Working with Tammy was a dream. She understood our vision right away and had great enthusiasm for the project. We discussed our budget and she worked with us to ensure our theme was reflected in the flowers. We got my bridal bouquet, three bridesmaid bouquets, two mother wrist corsages, total of 7 groom, groomsman, and father of the bride boutonnieres. She created two beautiful arrangements for the church altar (which we brought to the venue), a wreath for the fireplace at the venue, a centerpiece for our head table, and loose flowers and fillers for my sister to assemble our centerpieces. On the day of the wedding, she delivered to three different locations on time and also gave us an extra bridesmaid bouquet and boutonniere. I highly recommend scheduling a meeting with Tammy to see what she can do for you.
I worked with Cheryl at Hillside Florists for my Boston wedding in the Fall of 2014. I met with her several times, more than most brides probably do, because we were creating a vision from scratch. Cheryl helped to design and assemble a ceremony arch made out of lace and trees, recessional lavender tosses made out of magazine paper cones and dried lavender buds, and went out of her way to find rare protea flowers from South Africa for my bridal bouquet. She even stayed through the ceremony to help move arrangements into the reception space. Above and beyond service from a very busy little shop.
Did everything come out lovely? It certainly did. Was it perfect? Of course not... my particular venue did a terrible job at communicating the layout of the spaces, and Cheryl had to scramble last minute to re-adjust our designs to fill the tables and chairs with what we had discussed. There were also some minor details that were overlooked even after umpteen rounds of clarification and conversation, but that's just me being incredibly nitpicky.
Does it really matter that the boutonnieres had a full satin wrap instead of the lattice one we had discussed? No. Did we have to chase her down the day of to find a missing corsage for the MoB? Yes. But did we get the corsage eventually and was it beautiful? Yes. Did my Flower Girl's pomander ball have ivory flowers instead of the white I had demanded? It sure did. Was I a fan of the random black ribbon woven within it? Nope. But was it adorable in the long run and anything worth getting upset about? It was, and not at all.
If you use Hillside, or any florist for that matter, just remember that regardless of how clear you are in direction, these people are artists and will have taken some creative liberties. A really good one will stay within your vision, and Cheryl certainly did. She worked her butt off to make everything gorgeous. And it was!!
Make sure you meet with Cheryl! She was wonderful. She was so helpful and did an amazing job. I have used Hillside for others occasions as well and have always been very happy with my flowers.
I couldn't get over how beautiful the flowers were. The centerpieces were out of this world. I received more compliments on the flowers. The bridal bouquet was beautiful and the bridesmaid was equally beautiful. I would recomment this florist to all brides.
I have heard great things about Cheryl at Hillside's work. The flowers did look beautiful, however it was a PAINFUL experience. She was impossible to contact (for MONTHS) and even though I left message after message after message, she never called me back. Talk about adding stress to an already stressful time! When we did finally meet, she rushed through everything and I really had no idea what was going on. In the end, it all worked out and I was happy with my flowers, but it was an awful experience leading up to the big day.
I love Hillside Florist. Cheryl is the best. Her and I hit it off immediately and she put together the best center pieces and the bouquets were beautiful. She likes to help you keep the cost down as best as she can too. Super helpful and such a fun personality to work with. I highly recommend Hillside.
Cheryl did an amazing job on everything!!
I used Hillside Florist for my August 11th wedding at the Hellenic Center. I met with Cheryl who understood the look I wanted regarding flowers. She made beautiful, tall pieces for the church along with wreaths for the pews that we now have as a keepsake. When we got to the venue, the table centerpieces were bigger and better than anything I had imagined. I really wanted lemon slices in the vases and they did this with no problem. I highly recommend Hillside Florist for your next event!
Cheryl went over the top!!! I couldn't believe when I saw the bouquets arrive they were so gorgeous!! She helped from the planning all the way thru the whole process of the wedding day. I personally will be using her services again!
Cheryll was our florist, she went above and beyond! Explained everything and always took the time to take my call and make me feel welcome to express my ideas.
I had my wedding flowers done here and they came out better than what was described. They were amazing. Thank you so much for such great flowers!
I am so not a flower person. So Cheryl was awesome to deal with, she told me all I needed to know and what would look the best. She didn't disapoint either...the flowers were stuning. So many complements plus the center pieces are still alive and looking fablous after almost 4 weeks.
Cheryl was very creative in finding a unique look for the bridemaids and maid of honor's flowers. She is very talented and a lot of fun to work with. She made me feel like my wedding was the most important wedding she's ever worked on.
