My job needs an internal Hitchswitch-style service to make the name change process just as seamless as work!

Not only do they fill out most of the forms for you, they give you detailed, easy to follow instructions for each step. The checklist also helped me remember to change my name in some of the smaller places that I definitely would have forgotten. This has been such a helpful service!

Hitchswitch made changing my name after marriage simple and fast. It really took the legwork and guesswork out of the name changing process. You still need to go to the DMV (and I chose to go to Social Security vs. mailing the paperwork in so I could get my name changed faster), but the forms they give you (already partially filled out) really save time and stress! I bought the medium package and it was perfect for my needs. I highly recommend it!

So easy to use

Waste of money and time. I followed the instructions on how to change my social security card. I ordered a certified copy of my marriage licence as instructed and mailed it into the social security office with my name change application. Waited several weeks and finally called the social security office. They let me know that I cannot change my name by mail (although Hitch Switch said I could and sent me instructions on how to do it). I contacted Hitch Switch through their website and they never even responded. I had to go to the Social Security office and do everything again. TERRIBLE customer service. Terrible company. I'd request a refund if they'd respond to me! I didnt use anything else in their packet because I couldn't trust it to be accurate.

Hands down completely worth it. I had no idea where to even START with this whole process and I was stressing out. Hitchswitch made it so easy and I especially love the support that’s available at the tip of your fingers. I will 100% recommend this service. 10/10!

I did some research on name change...and everything sounded so painful. I was completely dreading it but then I heard about Hitchswitch. They seriously made the process so easy. I was able to get my name change done within 1 month and it could have been faster but waiting is apart of the fun when you are dealing with government offices. But the package I received with my name and basic information pre-filled helped ease the burden. It came with a helpful todo list that also made the process super easy to keep track of. I just made appointments when I could or walked in, signed where I needed to and just handed over the papers and the process went very smoothly. I also did my passport picture with Hitchswitch and it was just super easy (no waiting at the local drugstore). Can't recommend the service enough. Hitswitch makes the name change process far easier than doing it alone. The forms came pre generated with explicit instructions on how to complete the remaining sections and details as to where to submit them. It couldn’t have been more clear. Is it impossible to complete all name changes forms without this service? Sure. Is it worth every penny? Yes.

Would highly recommend getting this service. There are SO many little things that go into changing your name - you think you should be able to find all this information yourself, and you probably could, but it's really helpful to have someone just tell you step by step in order what to do next, AND give you the exact forms. It's not even that expensive, so it's worth it. You can also contact them with your questions which I've found to be helpful, too.

Super helpful service for changing your name! Anything that makes government forms like this less stressful is awesome, and I definitely recommend! They made everything very simple to complete and have thought of pretty much any scenario you may have in relation to changing your name. And even if they hadn't thought of it, you can purchase the service where you have a personal agent helping you through it and get your questions answered there. Highly recommend!!! I was referred to hitchswitch by another friend that used them after she got married. She gave a really positive review about how easy they made it, and that she didn’t think she would have been able to navigate through stuff without them. We both purchased their full service package, and it really was just as easy as advertised. They sent every form completely filled out with all my information (except sensitive personal info like a social security number), and post marked envelopes so I was covered whether I decided to go in person or mail my items in. I chose to go in person, and my process was so easy with all my applications already filled out for me, and that their website provides office location information, and the documentation you need to bring. I would recommend their service to absolutely everyone, and plan on getting it as a gift to friends that are getting married in the future!

Don't waste your money on this service. You pay money so that they give you instructions as to how to change your names with the different government agencies. Sounds great but a) they give you the wrong forms or information and b) you still have to do everything yourself. They gave me the wrong forms for my voter registration (the completely wrong state) and wrong instructions for the drivers license so I was tried away, had to reschedule, and look up everything myself. When I messaged to complain there was no answer. Find a different website to help you instead of wasting your money on hitchswitch that makes your life more stressful.

While I haven't gone through the entire process yet, HitchSwitch has made my name change process one of the easiest things I've ever done! All of my friends who have changed their names after getting married have complained about how arduous the process can be, but I feel like I haven't had to deal with anything unpleasant so far! 10/10 would recommend!

I had saved this as a to-do during my Knot checklist, and I am so glad that I invested the money to do it. It has saved me money, time, and postage! It's easy to fill out the application and pay online, and they send you a nice folder with all the documents you need, checklists, instructions, and envelopes with postage! I have already started the process with changing my name with social security, and everything has gone smoothly so far.

DO NOT USE HITCHSWITCH! I wish I had read a thread like this before going through with the service. I paid for the Platinum service and everything started off smoothly. I wanted to make my maiden name my middle name, and I was instructed that it may or may not work, but I could give it a try. I was told that if it was not going to work, it would be rejected at the social security card step (step 1), so I decided to give it a shot and had no issues getting my updated social security card with my maiden name as my middle name. As such, I proceeded with the process of getting my passport updated (per the direction of my Hitch Switch "concierge"). That also went smoothly and I received my updated passport with my maiden name as my middle name. I then went to update my license as a final step in the process, and after getting the run-around from the DMV (with no direction from my concierge despite asking), I was finally told that I in fact could NOT make my maiden name my middle name, and I would need to start the process over to re-update my social security card and passport to make my middle name back to my original middle name. I tried emailing my concierge again for direction and received no response. I then tried calling the passport agency directly and was told the only way to make this update would be to get a court order name change. I am now out the $100 from the HitchSwitch package, $110 to update my passport to a name that wasn't legally allowed, and will need to spend at least $250 in court fees to legally change my name BACK to what it was to begin with. All the while, no support for HitchSwitch or accountability on their end. To say I am frustrated is an understatement. Oh, and the kicker - I live in NJ which is where the HitchSwitch headquarters are based. If they don't even know enough about the law in their own home state, I would hate to think of how misdirected they must be in other states. BEWARE before you give your money over to this scam of a company.

A wonderful experience! HitchSwitch has made the name change process less stressful, and more organized. It is great to know the steps I need to take, to take some off the pressure off! the pre-filled forms made for a quick transition, so that I could send them right back out to the appropriate places. Very friendly & great customer service too.

Bought the premium package - not worth it. Essentially they ask for your contact information and pre-populate forms and print them for you. Not worth the $$ as you still have to go through and add info, find the right place to ship things, etc. Overall disappointed. Was supposed to get phone support through the premium service as well, but they don't have it anymore.

Have had so many issues with Hitch Switch! From not being able to submit my name change form because they kept requiring a state my birthplace which does NOT have one, to having all my documents have incorrect dates because of their forms "not working", it is truly frustrating! You cannot reach customer support as they never answer emails or call them because it goes straight to voicemail. It worked through instagram, but do I really have to "slide" into their DM's to get help on their faulty website? Hoping they will respond to my email in a timely manner (never got a response on the 5 emails I sent already)

A convenient way to complete all name change processes. I liked that I had all the needed forms sent with basic info already filled out. They give step by step instructions on what to fill out and in what order to complete all changes. Saved me time inquiring and searching for the correct forms and processes.

Although it was expensive, it was helpful and worth it. It takes all the guessing work out of changing your name! It’s the process easier and faster than if I would have attempted it by myself.

I am incredibly disappointed with this service. First of all, it is fairly expensive for what you are getting (some pre filled forms and envelopes) considering you have to go to the post office anyway. But my real complaint is that I was actually given incorrect information. I was told I did not need to send my passport along with my marriage certificate and form to social security, but social security’s own website told me the opposite. I emailed customer service. They didn’t reply for two days, so I emailed again and called (their number goes straight to voicemail.) finally, I get a response, but they don’t answer my question! I went back and forth with the customer service representative (who was emailing late at night, even though this company is based out of New Jersey) and was first told I didn’t need the passport. When I asked where they got that information they changed their mind and said I do! I emailed again asking them to clarify and was told it depends on the state (?) even though social security is national. I replied and asked which states… we will see if I get a response. If I followed their directions I would not be sending the correct documentation, making a long process even longer. This service was a gift from a friend and I will be seeking a refund on her behalf - it actually would have been easier and taken less time if I had just tried to do it myself.

And then along with the official paperwork were some really user friendly directions that made it super easy to get everything filled out and out the door quickly with no confusion and frustration. This is the best full name change package! I have looked at other name changing packages but they just told you how to change your name. Hitchswitch pre filled out all my documents and sent them to me in order of how I should change my name. Sent me a packet of papers that I could have printed off online on my own. Also -- the passport office did not approve my name change and said that I needed a court order to remove my middle name and add my husband's last name to mine. This was not the case at the social security office. It would have been nice to know this info beforehand. I think I've spent just as much time trying to change my name as I would have without hitch switch.

Absolutely HORRIBLE customer service! Haven't even received the packet yet! Do not waste your money with this extremely unprofessional company. Listen to all the poor reviews... seriously. My sister bought me the platinum service as a gift. I went to use the gift card after my wedding and it was loaded with the wrong level of service (she paid $99 and it said I only had $69 on the card). I have been emailing the customer service email address, platinum email address, tried chatting with an agent (no one online), and tried calling for over 10 days. Their phone line even says they'll respond within the next business day and just directs you to the customer service email. I got 1 response asking for information I had already provided.... which I provided 3 times - still no resolution. At this point, I just want a refund and tried to reach out via INSTAGRAM since they're so unresponsive! Do not waste your money on this scam of a company. Will be reporting them to the Better Business Bureau and writing "warning" reviews anywhere I can find. Wish I could give them 0 stars honestly.

THIS IS A HUGE WASTE OF MONEY. I ordered this to save myself time and thought, oh hey it might be a good idea to have someone I can direct questions to just in case. No. This is all stuff you can look up yourself and if you have any questions, forget asking the service you PAID to help you do it, and just look it up yourself. They won't answer you or you'll end up knowing more than they do after a quick google search. Not worth it all all.

Ever since COVID so many things were closed and I was having trouble getting the right answers as to how I could proceed. Hitch switch gave step by step instructions and had pre printed papers and envelopes. Just skip the head ache and make it easy on yourself, use Hitchswitch!

This was a no brainer. When I got the folder everything was so gorgeously organized (Type A people especially will love this), and I ended but having a question about making my current last name a second middle name. It was clear in the packet that this is more of a complicated process and so I emailed the support team. I got such a quick response and a very helpful answer. It feels good leaving all of this to the pros. I for sure would have messed something up.

Then aloof cam Hitchswitch. With three clicks on the computer and a few days waiting a package was received with EVERYTHING I needed to start the name change. So relieved, grateful and stress-free!

I am very grateful to have found Hitchswitch as I did not know where to start with changing my name. They provide a step-by-step sheet to follow; which I was heading in the wrong order so thank heavens I found them! If I have questions at anytime they are available to direct me :)

I got the platinum package, so I could have full access to a customer service rep by email. I have emailed the rep, the company, and the platinum support email addresses multiple times for a MONTH with no response whatsoever to my questions. I did receive the packet with how to fill out the paperwork, but that is it. I would absolutely not recommend the platinum package to anyone. Maybe the most basic, where they just send you a few pages in a packet would be worth it. Otherwise, not worth the $$$!
