Hotel Bardo was the perfect location for our wedding reception/after party. The guests were blown away by the beauty of the hotel/reception space and the staff was an absolute pleasure throughout the entire weekend. From the day we checked in until we left, the team could not have been kinder and better to work with. From the housekeeping and reception staff caring for our every needs to the bartenders throughout the weekend being on top of all requests, everyone had a wonderful time. To those getting married in Savannah that want to wow their guests and ensure a memorable wedding, choose Hotel Bardo.
Our wedding was magnificent in this venue and we were so thrilled. What a venue - you can't go wrong. We are British and wanted a formal wedding, with fascinator hats and the Mansion was first class! The Mansion recommended Elegant Savannah Weddings for their preferred coordinator, and the planning was excellent between the. We used the courtyard for the ceremony and the ballroom for the reception. Glamorous, beautiful and outstanding. Also a quick walk to the park for fountain photos. Staff were wonderful.
The Mansion gave me the best day of my life! I worked with Mary Channaj, who stuck with me throughout the entire planning process and never failed to provide the utmost professionalism and composure as she flawlessly coordinated the rooms, menu, vendors, etc. for my wedding. I was an out-of-town bride, so I (and my mom) called/e-mailed this poor woman constantly. Never once did Mary complain or ignore us. Every question/concern was resolved--resulting in an absolutely stellar event. Guests couldn't stop talking about it WEEKS after the fact, and someone even called it "EPIC." I have so much appreciation toward the Mansion and Mary. I recommend this venue for anyone: 10/10!
We stayed at The Mansion on Forsyth for our wedding the night before and the night after. Several months before, on the day we wanted to scope out venues, the coordinator wasn't around for our short notice request (totally on us) but the consiergie was an angel and gave us a quick look around and his observations about previous weddings and the prep spaces normally used. Cornelious, the coordinator, got back to us and was very patient and understanding while putting it together from Germany through our local friends. The weather was so hot that they made an on the spot adjustment to move some cocktail tables indoors for our older guests after the ceremony, which was very considerate. The menu was delicious and the spaces didn't need any additonal decor outside of the linens they already had available and the floral package we ordered. We had a wonderful time! Side note: do consider that this is in the historical district so you'll pay extra taxes for the stay, having the wedding, tourism tax, and other things we didn't quite expect. Worth it! But don't be surprised. Thank you so much Mansion Team for being part of our day. The location is unmatched, and the service was amazing.
This was the first venue I saw and immediately wanted to have my reception here! We chose to have our reception in Chasmir’s Lounge instead of the ballroom. We were much happier because the lounge is fill of an eclectic choice of art. We also had access to a patio outside that everyone loved. The tables for seat were separated in to different rooms but we really enjoyed that because it forced people to stay out near the dance floor and mingle more. Our bartender was amazing! When ever my husband or I approached the bar we were served first! We really enjoyed it !
I don't know how to adequately put into words the experience I had having my wedding at the Mansion. Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING was top notch, 5 star and exceeded my expectations. From the first phone call with Leslie Harbin to working closely with Lea McGIlloway my planner, everything was perfect. Even though our wedding was very small (around 50 guests) Lea treated me like I was her family member, and made me feel like mine was the only wedding she was planning. She was organized, beyond responsive, caring and SUPER ON POINT!! Her and the entire staff went above and beyond to make sure everything was PERFECT! The way the room was decorated and set up, all the touches and planning were beyond. All the guests were raving about the food and desserts, as well! They are still talking about how delicious everything was. I cannot thank you all enough for making everything a dream and stress free. I wish I could do it again!!!
We held our rehearsal dinner at Mansion on Forsyth Park's gorgeous 700 Drayton restaurant and couldn't have asked for a better experience. I coordinated the evening with Leslie and she helped bring my vision to life, customizing the menu to fit our preferences while also working within our budget. Everyone in our wedding party raved about their meal and both our families agreed "it was one of the best meals they've ever had" -- the okra chips in the fish and grits were the talk of the evening. I would be remiss if I didn't also recognize the attentive service. We truly couldn't have chosen a better restaurant to kick off our wedding festivities!
I can not say enough positive things about the Mansion on Forsyth Park! My whole experience working with the Mansion leading up to my wedding was nothing but excellent and professional. The coordinator was incredible and got back to me in a timely manner. She also thought of so many things that I had not thought of. Our guests have not stopped talking about our wedding. The food was incredible. The Mansion is such a unique spot and the ballroom doesn't need a ton of decorations because it is already so beautiful. Everyone at the Mansion made my day so perfect! I would suggest any bride that can get booked here should. You will not regret it.
We loved our actual wedding, but getting up to the wedding was very stressful. The coordinator assigned to us switched 3 times, and the communication was extremely poor. The last switch of coordinators because the last one quit was the week before our wedding which added a lot of anxiety - my whole wedding was in the hands of someone I had never met! Also, different coordinators gave us different information and promises which were not carried through. The chef was wonderful, the food was delicious and the venue was beautiful. We are very grateful for everyone at The Mansion for making our day so special!
We really loved this venue! The staff that worked with us that weekend was amazing! So attentive and courteous, we just had the most magical weekend. My only issue was with our planner assigned to us by the hotel. This person changed many times because of people leaving this job. That was un-nerving to say the least. She did the job but was not around much that weekend, at least I did not see her. I felt she did not give us the attention we should have had that weekend. There were a few issues that never got solved after the wedding. Just be sure you really like the person who is your contact at the venue and directly ask if they will be there on the day of the wedding & that if you need anything they will be there to help. Saying all that, we did love the Mansion and it was so beautiful.
I held my wedding’s reception in the Mansion’s ballroom. It was absolutely beautiful and the catering staff was exceptional. Our wedding coordinator, Blair, went above and beyond to help us piece together our fairytale wedding. Thank you so much!
Thank you to the Mansion on Forsyth Park (and my dad, of course) for making my dream wedding come true! The venue was beautiful and the food and service was amazing. It was a perfect night for my husband and I to celebrate with family and friends.
We stayed here when we were married in one of the squares. Everyone was SOOO accommodating and kind it was well worth the steep price. I knew everything within their control would go completely as planned. Their staff were all genuinely happy to help with anything we needed. GREAT bar, not crazy for the restaurant there are just so many restaurants in town theirs wasn't worth the price in my opinion, but this hotel well exceeded any needs we had and we will definitely be back for our anniversary
Let's start with the positive aspects: the food was great overall and the chef is very accommodating with dietary restrictions as we had guests who were vegetarian, gluten-free, etc.; the venue space was beautiful and unique; and if you decide to stay at the Mansion, the guest rooms are quite comfortable and luxurious. Where this venue falls short is the banquet service aspect. After signing the contract and reflecting on the logistics leading up to the wedding day, constant issues started to surface related to hidden costs, delayed follow-up with wedding prep, lack of professionalism with the banquet coordinator and push back on arrangements promised by the sales team. During the wedding reception, the assigned banquet manager never showed up, the bartender served our guests select labels instead of the premium labels we ordered (and were charged for), and the food and beverage service was slow. Long story short, the venue over promised and under-delivered on our event and given the amount of time, money and emotion that is invested into this type of occasion, this wasn't the lasting memory we hoped for in terms of the reception.
We looked at having our entire wedding (ceremony + reception/dinner) at the Mansion, but it did not end up working for us. We ended up having our ceremony at a different location and then reserved 700 Drayton's Carriage Wine Cellar for our Intimate Wedding Dinner. Pre-planning was great - Richelle and Charnay were very helpful and seemed very thorough in covering everything that needed to be addressed before the actual event. When we arrived, everything was laid out perfectly according to our seating charts and what was discussed. The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was excellent. We loved the atmosphere of the wine cellar and the overall restaurant, and our guests seemed very happy with everything as well. I would definitely recommend 700 Drayton for an intimate wedding reception location.
We were extremely happy with the beautiful atmosphere provided by the Mansion. The food was delicious, and the drinks kept coming. Guests were greeted with hospitality.
Unfortunately, some important details were overlooked changing some of the feel of the night- Doors to the bar weren't open, cake wasn't served to all tables, and our guest book was placed off the beaten path.
Beyond that, we had a great time here and so did our guests.
We loved every part of our wedding at The Mansion. We had our ceremony in the open-air marble courtyard and the reception in the Viennese Ballroom. Both are unique and beautiful in their own way. We loved the food and working with Jeannie. She made every effort to make our entire event run smoothly and hassle free and she succeeded. Loved it!
This was by far one of my favorite vendors! We had our cocktail reception in the courtyard followed by our reception in the ballroom. Everything was flawless, gorgeous and hassle-free! You are not able to bring in outside catering, however, there food was terrific (we had plated dinners) and offered plenty of selection for our guests. I would recommend this venue without a doubt!!!
We chose the Mansion even though it was more expensive then all of the other venues we considered (Hilton DeSoto, Hyatt, First City Club)because it had everything under one roof. Our ceremony was in the Marble Garden Courtyard and the reception was in the ballroom. The food was amazing and both the courtyard and the ballroom are so beautiful that they didn't need a lot of additional decorations.
The staff was was wonderful from prebooking the event all the way until we checked out of the hotel 3 days after the wedding. I would highly recommend the Mansion, and after all of the comments from our guests, so would they!
I can not rave enough about the food that we served at our reception. It was prepared in the 700 Drayton restaurant. The staff in the restaurant were amazing Jessica the manager was on top of things and very well prepared. Her level of organization and preparedness showed throughout our reception. They were amazing. The restaurant went out of their way to help us store left over wedding cake and had it boxed up to take home the next day.
As for the hotel they were not as prepared for us as they should have been. We made a block room reservation in February and that did not make a difference. Not all of the guests were able to check when they arrived. Most of the rooms reservations were not correct and most of the rooms unavailable. The hotel had guests who they said stayed over their reservation and there was nothing they could do. The desk staff was rude. The rooms are air conditioned, but they dont work well in a lot of the rooms. I had a suite and could not get it lower than 76 degrees in the room. The wedding coordinator Andrea Powers did work to correct most of these problems as did her boss, but it was a little chaotic.
