This was our first time staying here. The "Thnder over Louisville" was unbelievable. The staff at the hotel was friendly and very professional. The had tight security, which showed the pride that they took in keeping everyone safe. The room...
s were clean and we enjoyed the shops and the Conservatory as well. Seeing all of the horse statues outside and throughout the hotel was an added bonus.
We will definitely be back.

I’ve stayed at this hotel multiple times. It has a great location that you cannot beat and the price per night is reasonable considering you’re in downtown and can walk to most places. Beware parking is 30.00 a night, which I think guest shoul...
d get it at a discounted price since you are paying to stay there. The bars are nice and highly recommended trying them if you’re staying there.
The last time we stayed the service wasn’t that great but the manager made it right after discussing our concerns about the housekeep and the front staff during check-in.

service, vending machine on our flower dispensed soda instead of water. It said water but sodas came out 4 times! It was Derby weekend so the service was probably not as good as usual because of the crowds.

This was our first visit to the Galt House and I think our expectations were too high. When we arrived the valet told us there were no luggage carts available and that we would need to unload our car and pile our things in the lobby to wait for...
an available cart. Tyler jumped into action to help us unload and get our things inside. He was friendly and apologetic and we appreciated his help. Our reception at the lobby check in was cool at best. No welcome or a hint that they cared in the least that we were there. (Experienced the same with the concierge service later in the evening). Brian came along with a luggage cart and asked if we needed help getting to our room. He was a sweetheart. He was genuinely happy to help and loaded the cart with all of our things. We then waited almost 15 min. for an elevator! Have never seen this in a hotel before. The lobby was full of people waiting, looking for the stairway or anyway to make it to their room. One man said he had waited 25 min the day before! Our room was large and in a lovely location. Views were beautiful. Very cold and noisy though. Air gushing in through slider to the balcony. Needed weather stripping all around. The room looked like it had been decorated from a thrift shop or hand me downs from the 80’s or 90’s. A hodgepodge of things. No ambiance or warmth. Bathroom was nice and upgraded. Only one light blanket on beds and very noisy scratchy sheets. Make sure you have sweats to wear or an extra blanket. Again never experienced anything like it in a nice hotel. We did have a nice breakfast in the Exchange on the 2nd floor. Diana provided us excellent and friendly service. All in all we were very disappointed with the Galt and will surely choose a different hotel for our next visit to Louisville. The only reason we’re giving three stars to the service is because of the few employees we mentioned. Otherwise it would be 1 star. While many of the common shared areas of the hotel were very nice and and seemingly updated they really need to invest in upgrading their rooms and training all of their employees on customer service.

Don’t stay here!!

n a budget brand hotel and the attention to detail is definitely lacking. It feels like it’s dying.
The soap was empty in the shower, the hall ways smell dirty, the room feels just thrown together.
I even called the front desk asking for more soap and so far nothing
And don’t use the hair dryers they spark.
