Steve was a pleasure to work with--so effortless to check uplighting off our endless wedding planning to-do list. To be honest, I was on the fence about if we should get uplighting, but Steve worked with our budget, was quick with email replies, and we coordinated our schedules so that we could swing by for a few minutes as he was setting up another wedding to agree on the final lighting color. Then voila! All was taken care of on our wedding day... no further correspondence needed. Our wedding was in the Grandview tent on a beautiful late September night and I knew amber uplighting would help show off how incredible that space already is. We are so pleased we 1) got uplighting and 2) worked with Steve. Such a win/win scenario. Thanks, Steve!

Steve and Hourglass Lighting created a gorgeous setting for my daughter's sunset ceremony in a sailcloth tent. Steve created special fall leaf and branch patterns on the inside tent top which glowed on the outside. He also provided a technician on premises the evening of the ceremony to assure that everything would be perfect. And it was. Everyone told us the ceremony was magical and thanks to Steve and Hourglass Lighting it was!

I contacted Hourglass Lighting a little over a week before my wedding when I had realized I hadn't booked anyone for up light. Steve was awesome, and set us up with a contract within a couple days. The venue looked gorgeous and elegant when we arrived! Steve made everything so easy for us, so all we had to do was enjoy our day! Many thanks for a beautiful job!

Steve was awesome! He helped me out in a last minute pinch even though he was already pretty busy the weekend that I needed lighting for my wedding. We chose the amber leaves for the ceiling of the tent and it created the perfect atmosphere for our early fall wedding outside by a lake. I could not be more pleased with the lighting. Steve is definitely a professional and goes above and beyond for his clients. Our wedding would not have been as beautiful as it all turned out were it not for the perfect lighting under the tent.

Hourglass lighting did an amazing job at my wedding! The purple uplighting, the custom monogram on the dance floor (which matched the Monogram on the custom aisle runner as well as the font of the invitations), and the spot lights on the tree center pieces created a Ballroom that impressed everyone. My husband and I used Hourglass Lighting for our wedding at The Marros Estate, a huge room that looked great with uplighting. Steve was so easy to communicate with and anything that we needed he provided for us. He was incredibly professional and we couldn't have asked for a better company to use.

The team at hourglass made our wedding. Throughout the entire wedding planning process, they were responsive and flexible. We had a barn reception and the draped lighting made the venue. They helped me realize our dream atmosphere for our wedding. I would highly recommend them to any bride.

Steve was really responsive to all my questions and was professional. During a crazy time of wedding planning, I didn't need to worry about Steve and his work. He was punctual and executed exactly what I asked for. I would recommend his services! Also, at my venue they had a "fake wedding" for the couples to see, they had a DJ do the uplighting. When I saw the uplighting Steve did for my wedding it was sooooo much better and worth the extra cost in my opinion.

Steve and his team were a pleasure to work with! My wedding was in a barn in upstate NY and we wanted the whole place to be elegantly lit and not too rustic. Hourglass Lighting made it look magical and was very thoughtful about lighting different areas of the barn differently (for example, the dance area was light differently than the rest of the barn to differentiate it). Steve and his team really listened to what we wanted and made our vision happen. We could not have been happier with the results.

Steve Fernandez did the lighting for our wedding this past weekend, September 28th. He did an amazing job and was a pleasure to work with. He was able to match the lighting at our venue perfectly with our bridesmaids dresses. Having our names displayed across the dance floor added the extra touch, and we received compliments from many of our guests. I planned our wedding from 600 miles away and at first my husband thought lighting was a stupid expenditure that we didn't need but I insisted. Steve was very easy to work with and always e-mailed me back right away about any questions or concerns I had. The lighting at our reception was absolutely stunning. It made the room go from a normal banquet hall room to something truly spectacular. Even my husband thought it was worth every cent and we are still getting compliments months later about how gorgeous it looked.

Everything in our ballroom was white and we wanted an icy blue look to create a clean look. Steve gave us exactly what we wanted in our ballroom, our jaws literally drops when we saw it. My wife and I found the perfect setting for our dream wedding. An incredibly rustic barn in the Hudson Valley area in the fall with the leaves turning. My wife and I had a friend of the family who assured us he could provide everything we would need for lighting, as we had done a great amount of research and brainstorming as to how we wanted this barn to be lit. In a million years, I never thought a lighting designer could create such warmth, beauty and ambience, let alone with practically no warning. Steve blew away every expectation we had, all the while doing it with extreme ease and kindness. The pictures we have from the reception are truly stunning, and we have Hourglass Lighting to thank. Hello All, My husband and I hired Steve Fernandez to do the lighting for our recent October 12, 2012 wedding. Steve was a pleasure to work with from the very beginning taking the time to speak with us on the phone (since we planned our wedding from out of state) and work out the vibe and ambiance we were looking for on our special day. Although he had never worked at our venue before the room turned out to be absolutely spectacular. We had a warm cozy candlelight glow and some beautiful leaf projections on the ceiling. Our guests had an awesome time dancing and we attribute much of that to the "feeling" he was able to convey with the colors and lights. We could not have chosen better!

On September 7th, 2012, my husband and I got married. Two weeks beforehand, I decided that I NEEDED lighting for our tent. When I called Steve, he was so helpful. He knew he had other weddings that day but would get back to me shortly. That very next morning we spoke again and he confirmed that we were on! Not only did he make it work with such short notice, he added extra lighting to our cocktail hour the day of, free of charge, because he felt that the room needed it. He was professional, reliable and went above and beyond to ensure the ambiance at our wedding was perfect. I could not have ask for anything more!

I was one of those Brides that everything had to be done after hours (due to work schedule) and via email since I couldn't talk during work hours and Steve was great! He responded to all my emails. Wedding planning can be stressful and tedious. I can say that working with Steve was such a breeze and pleasure. If you are thinking about lighting for your event, I can't recommend Hourglass enough. Hourglass lighting did a fabulous job with our Halloween themed wedding. I knew that our venue was a bit drab and if I really wanted to make our theme come to life I was definitely going to have to do something about the decor. My groom and I just got married at the PK Hotel on Sunday, and the lighting was probably the #1 thing I was so excited for my guests to see, and WOW! Everyone was blown away!! The ceremony was in the same room, and when everyone came back in for the reception they were stunned, the lighting transformed the room completely! It exceeded our expectations by 110%! Steve did an amazing job at my Ceola Manor wedding on 9/24/2011. The blue uplighting really transformed the main ballroom into the fairytail wedding I have always dreamed about. My husband and I couldn't be happier with the way everything turned out!!!

I reached out to Steve at Hourglass Lighting only 3 weeks before our wedding date with a very specific vision and idea of what we had in mind for our reception introduction. Despite the tight timeframe, Steve and Joe (his operator) did a great job in listening to our idea, offering suggestions, and ultimately excecuted the idea into an awesome reality on our wedding day! Steve was a complete professional to work with and he was willing to work within our limited budget and still deliver an amazing service. Our contract included 2 LED Mega Bar lights, 2 intelligent moving heads, and one special spot light effect. The dance floor was rockin' all night long and the lighting set the mood and enhanced each special event in a classy and fun way. My husband and I got married in Poughkeepsie in August 2011 and had our reception in a completely white ballroom. Steve from Hourglass Lighting was recommended to us from our venue and after seeing the pictures on his website we called him immediately. Steve is wonderful and listened to exactly what we wanted and did it! We had purple lighting streaming up the walls around the ballroom during the reception and it look ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE and it TRANSFORMED THE ENTIRE ROOM - everything seemed brighter and because our colors were red and purple, it made the room look even more romantic and our flowers and colors seemed to stand out even more! I loved working with Steve from Hourglass Lighting. I hadn't been sure if lighting was something I wanted to spend money on, but after looking at Steve's website and seeing how lighting transforms a room, I knew it was a worthy investment. Steve will do a free trial run at your venue, so you can get an idea of how the lighting effect will look, so you really have nothing to lose! The only thing is if your wedding day is sunny, guests may not notice the lighting as much, so choose the right color..overall great vendor and I highly recommend Hourglass lighting!!!

Steve from Hourglass lighting was amazing. He did an amazing job. It was definitely worth every penny. He gave us many options and took his time to show us plenty of demonstrations. It was always very easy to get in contact with him and he made sure to contact us anytime he needed to inform us of any changes or anything. The day of the wedding he was there very early to set up. My guests loved the lighting. My dad loved it and also happened to mention that it was worth every dollar. Adding lightning to my venue really turned it into a fairy tale moment. My favorite color is pink so it was one the most important component of the wedding. steve really understood my vision and put toguether such a beautiful color. The lightning was the talk of the night. It made my reception looked elegant and have a piece of me at the same time.

My daughter recently got married. She had wanted special lighting and I thought it was an unnecessary expense. We had a beautiful venue and I thought that would be fine. Hourglass Lighting was the perfect touch to our wedding. Lighting was never even a thought in my mind until one day when I was searching on The Knot for something else. I came across an ad for Hourglass Lighting and said what the heck lets see how much something like this costs. After looking at the pictures I immediately wanted some sort of lighting in our room. This was a last minute touch (few months prior) but it made our entire room glow! I spoke with the owner Steve who gave me some price quotes. We did not want to spend too much money on the lighting and so I had to think about it. Our wedding reception was at the Villa Barone Hilltop Manor in Mahopac, NY which is very close to the location of Hourglass. Steve, never having done a wedding at the Villa Barone really wanted to get in there and show them what he could do. Due to this, he came down in price which made it really hard for us to turn down. Before booking he met me at the Villa Barone and he set up some lights so I could get a better feel for the colors. It was a tough decision since he was unable to set up the entire room. Unfortunately, I had to go meet Steve on my own without my husband so I had to make a decision without him. Pretty confident that the blue was the best color I had asked Steve if on the day of our wedding, once the entire room was set up if he could stick around incase we didn't like the blue color and he agreed. So Steve set up the room and came back during our cocktail hour to make sure we liked the blue. If we were not happy with the color he was going to change it for us. Upon walking into our room I was blown away! Our room was very white and elegant and the blue lighting made our room look like a scene out of Platinum Weddings. The lighting made our entire room and the amount of compliments we had were amazing! Steve did a great job and was a pleasure to work with.
