We held our wedding at the Hyatt Regency Reston in July 2024. We had a great experience working with Katie, their wedding planner, throughout the process. She really went above and beyond for us - helping with our rehearsal the evening before, managing everything the day of - from connecting with vendors as they came in to help them set up to setting out our escort cards for our guests. She was fantastic and made the evening run incredibly smoothly. The hotel offered our guests a great block rate and worked with us to extend it beyond the weekend itself.
The hotel itself was very nice too - we were able to have our ceremony in one ballroom and then the reception in the ballroom right next to it. We had the cocktail hour in the hallway outside the reception space, which also had a great balcony space that our guests utilized a lot throughout the evening. The hotel rooms were very nice too! The suite we were given as the couple getting married had a huge ensuite with a kitchen, large sitting space, and a huge dining room table with chairs - so it was perfect to have 9 ladies have their hair and make-up done.
We had many guests fly in for the wedding, so being so close to Dulles airport was a huge plus, and the convenience of the metro being so near meant people could easily use public transit to go into the city too. Also, having the town center area with all the restaurants and shops right behind the hotel was a major plus too - our guests had plenty they could do in walking distance.
Katie was our main point of contact for event management at the Hyatt for our wedding weekend. She was so experienced and provided us with critical information to help make decisions for our wedding even before we had signed the contract to book our events at the Hyatt! During the planning process, we had an incredibly long email thread going back and forth with huge lists of questions that we sent to Katie, and she always responded with lots of helpful information and gave us advice from her extensive experience with weddings at the Hyatt, and specifically with Indian weddings.
Katie was also really flexible to work with us on things from customizing the bar package to the schedule for the weekend. Katie made us and our event feel like a priority and that made our experience working with the Hyatt for our wedding really wonderful. Katie was a pro at coordinating with the many vendors and our wedding coordinator team to make sure everything went smoothly, and she was there the entire duration of our wedding events. In spite of being pregnant, Katie was literally vacuuming the floors after our ceremony - she was truly there to do everything she could to make our event a success.
The ballrooms in the Hyatt and the Conservatory are really beautiful. The hotel itself and Reston Town center nearby was an awesome venue to have all of our guests get together even outside of events. Ashley helped us with the room block at the Hyatt which was an awesome way for our family and friends to get more time to spend together (and to run into each other in the lobby!) during the weekend of the wedding. We got a great rate on our room block which our guests were appreciative of, and had a smooth experience with adding rooms to the block when needed thanks to Ashley’s help. We also had a great experience working with Rafi the banquet manager on the weekend of the wedding.
We had an amazing wedding weekend thanks to the really incredible work from Katie and the rest of the Hyatt team and we’d highly recommend them to anyone getting married!
The Hyatt Regency Reston was our perfect venue. The event planner, Katie Greaves made planning so seamless and easy and absolutely delivered on everything! The entire staff at the Hyatt was so helpful and friendly and Katie ensured we had everything we needed to have a stress-free day. She helped coordinate all outside vendors (gave great suggestions too) and was the best day of coordinator to ensure every ran smoothly and we did not feel like we had to be on top of any type of schedule as Katie was on top of it for us. The food and service was excellent and overall we were so thrilled with the entire process!
The Hyatt Regency Reston Town Center was the most incredible wedding experience we could've asked for. Not only were the staff all super accommodating and kind, but the space and hotel itself was super clean, renovated, and spacious. One of the best parts of having our wedding at the Hyatt Regency RTC was having Katie Greaves as our coordinator. She worked with me from day 1 all the way up until the end of the wedding. She made the entire experience from start to finish so comfortable and exciting.
My husband and I were very satisfied with the Hyatt Regency Reston as our wedding venue. Katie Greaves was kind, helpful and communicative throughout the planning process and made sure everything went smoothly the evening of the event. The bridal suite is beautiful and the hotel servers were wonderful (we got many comments about how attentive they were to our guests!). Katie was able to store some of our wedding decorations and accessories at the hotel prior to the event so that we did not have to worry about getting them to the hotel the morning of. I would recommned the Hyatt 10/10 to other couples.
We were very satisfied with our wedding experience at Hyatt! Great location, beautiful facilities. Katie Greaves did a wonderful job communicating with us throughout the planning process and she worked alongside us the entire day of the wedding and ensured everything went smoothly. The hotel has a very classy vibe and if you are looking to host your dream wedding night, definitely consider Hyatt Regency Reston!
What an incredible experience! We were married May 21, 2022 and had the most wonderful wedding day possible! Lots of people were saying "just get ready for things to go wrong, don't sweat the small stuff," whatever. But it was amazing! First off, the venue itself is beautiful. High ceilings, gorgeous chandeliers. People have not stopped telling us what a wonderful space it was. Not only that, our coordinator, Katie Frey, wow, she is the best! From the moment we booked, until our big day, she was so patient, so vigilant. She made sure everything was so meticulously planned and laid out. Our vendors had such wonderful things to say about how seamless their parts were. Going back and forth, making sure our needs were met, literally 100 emails to make sure we were ready. Then our big day came. The moment we arrived, Katie was there waiting to greet us, making sure we had everything we needed. She escorted us to our suite (amazing also) and helped us unwind. She brought drinks and the hors d'oeuvres, which we would've missed otherwise. And then, on top of all that, she BUSTLED my dress. My sisters were somewhere downstairs and I was so uncomfortable. She got down on the floor and literally figured out how to bustle it, to make me more comfortable. After a bit, she came back up and took us downstairs to get ready for our reception entrance. Again, making sure everything was laid out nicely, it went off without a hitch! She checked on us frequently, always within line sight to make sure that if we needed anything, she could respond quickly. She made sure everything was going on schedule and just that we had a wonderful time. I know this review is for the venue (which was amazing and the food as well) but what really made this experience special was Katie! Thank you again so so so much!
the event organizer is not really a trustworthy person when it comes to details.
below are examples of what happened:
1- her notebook was a mess, she will take notes of important information or requests and write them down on any empty spot at any corner of the paper. resulting in having nothing done as requesting including how the name of the bride and groom should appear on the hotel screens.
2- On the day of the wedding, actually few hours before doors opening, we get a call from the person arranging the tables and chairs asking about how many tables he should put in the ballroom. I had to go to myself to find out that he was emailed the wrong old layout from the initial proposal.
3- We requested a Cash only bar because we did not want any mess at the wedding and we informed the event coordinator that we do not want to pay for any alcohol then she offered a COMPLEMENTARY second cash bar. few days after the wedding we get a final bill saying that each cash bar had a minimum charge and if that was not met, the groom has to pay the difference of 470 dollars.
4- Hyatt has a honeymoon package offered when you have your wedding at any Hyatt hotel or resort. the event coordinator messed it up and put the wrong numbers possibly on purpose or I guess given all the mess and disorganization definitely should result in such mistake.
I gave it one star to grab attention, the venue is very nice, the food was really good thanks to the chef. If you chose Hyatt Regency in Reston you have to make sure that whatever you are requesting is going to be handled correctly.
Katie Frey was the absolute best at helping us pull everything together. She was friendly, easily accessible, and offered lots of helpful insight. Thank you!
I'm so happy my husband and I decided to do our wedding at the Hyatt Regency in Reston! We were actually just looking at the Hyatt for our guests to stay initially, but we fell in love with the ballrooms and ended up doing our whole wedding here. Stephanie is the most amazing wedding coordinator and helped us so much along the way. She was extremely responsive to all of our emails and many, many needs. They had everything we could've wanted (nice linens, chivari chairs, etc.) and our guests loved having everything in the same place. Our ceremony was in one third of the Grand Ballroom and then we had our reception in the Regency Ballroom. Both ballrooms are absolutely gorgeous and have been recently renovated. The carpet is NOT horrible colors like most hotels and the chandeliers are gorgeous! Stephanie took care of timing and confirming with all of our vendors. She went out of her way to make sure we didn't have anything to worry about. She was also a great second opinion when we were deciding things for the wedding and has excellent vendor options if you're trying to decide on photographers, uplighting, etc. The food was great. We had three passed appetizers and a dip station which seemed to work great. Our meals were served timely and people seemed to really enjoy them. I wish there had been bread already on the tables for people when they walked into the ballroom just because our wedding was so late so I'm sure people were hungry, but it was served alongside the salads.
Sara Schu was in charge of all the hotel rooms. We had a little trouble getting in contact with her at times, but in the end she had everything worked out for us and there weren't any concerns. A small complaint we had was that they wouldn't hand out our hospitality bags at the front desk when our guests checked in and they had someone come to the rooms post check-in. I thought this was a little odd, but it worked out and everyone seemed to get their bags. The hotel rooms were gorgeous. I was so pleased with the bridal suite. It was the perfect place to hang out with my bridesmaids and get ready all day. Our guests loved being on the town center. We had lots of out of town guests so they were very easily entertained.
Highly recommend doing your wedding at the Hyatt Regency! We were very pleased!
very pretty town center, a little bit overprices, but very nice hotel.
Would recommend it!
To be fair, I had a great time at my wedding. But all of the little things seemed to go wrong. They didn't block enough rooms despite nine months of notice. Rooms had to be assigned and reassigned the weekend of. The flowers were then sent to the wrong rooms. Jazz music was being piped in over my wedding ceremony. Hidden $300 charge for piano tuning if we wanted to use their piano for cocktail hour. They charged guests for parking/valet when we had told them to charge it all to us. MOB tells me I didn't even hear a third of it.
The food was amazing - even the vegetarian dish. Their custom-made wine is great. The venue was gorgeous. Would I do it again? No.
I absolutely loved having my reception at the Hyatt Regency - and the reason is because of our amazing catering manager Lori Zazzaro. The entire event went smoothly and I couldn't have asked for a more pleasant evening. I think choosing a great venue is key, but having someone there you can count on is what really matters. Lori was wonderful through the entire planning process. She answered my emails promptly, met with my decorator and my caterer and followed up with them prior to the event. She went above and beyond to make sure that our event would be a success. At the end of the night, she even had cake and food delivered to our room along with some other special goodies. The Hyatt Regency is a gorgeous hotel and their grand ballroom is stunning - but the best part about this venue is knowing you can count on Lori and her staff to put together a great event.
Everyone I met with at the Hyatt was professional and easy to work with.
Our guests had no complaints. Not only was it central to our wedding, but was a great location for guests to go into DC for the day or visit local attractions. They loved staying in Reston Town Center.
I can't say enough wonderful things about how the event coordinators an staff in general at the Hyatt Regency in Reston, VA handled the details of my wedding reception. They were available and responsive during the planning process, and stayed in contact (and were flexible about any changes I wanted to make) as the wedding date approached.
I didn't hire a wedding planner or coordinator at all for my wedding (rehearsal dinner, ceremony, or reception) and the Hyatt really made that possible by being so available, responsive, and well-staffed.
I also needed to arrange several different sorts of meals during the wedding reception due to various dietary needs of my guests (kosher, vegan, gluten-free, etc) and they made that possible without batting an eyelash.
Of course the Hyatt is not the cheapest reception venue by far but in the end i really found it to be a good value because they were so fantastic, especially during the weekend of my event. I would 100% recommend it.
Also it might be good to know that I called the event manager there just on a whim when we were considering different reception venues and I was completely sure my budget would not be possible (way too low)... but I basically told them my budget and the day I wanted to hold the wedding and the number of people we anticipated having, and they said they could make it work.
Anyway--100% worth it in every way. and the food (the drinks, hors d'ourves, the meals themselves) were FANTASTIC. people were raving. just really great!
The event event planner, Natasha Mahoney, made my reception experience perfect. She was a wonderful help - so much so that I didnt bother hiring a separate wedding planner. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Natasha! The food was great and we had a great space - the ballroom, hal, and outdoor terrace.;The only problem was that my wedding reception happened at the same time of some kind of children's beauty pagent and the hotel was completely booked -- everything was packed and it was difficult to get a bellman or an elevator.
