We found the Inn at Pelican Bay by accident while exploring venues for our daughter's wedding on October 7, 2017 in Naples, Florida. We had planned to stay one night hoping it would be a convenient place for our out of town guests. Arriving late we were greeted by Toni who offered us a newly renovated lakefront room. In the morning we met Kay, the director of Group Events. Kay mentioned the courtyard space was available for the wedding. The Inn did not provide onsite catering but Kay confidently recommended Artichoke and Company (please see our review for Artichoke and Company). While continuing our search for a beachfront wedding venue we realized the Inn was the perfect place.
The Inn at Pelican Bay is an elegant, boutique hotel with friendly and caring staff. Rooms are beautifully appointed and in immaculate condition. Our guests traveled from New York, Chicago, Virginia, California, Connecticut, Texas and other areas of Florida. Every guest raved how wonderful the experience was. The management and staff made every effort to accommodate all of our needs including a Friday night “Meet and Greet” and Sunday football gathering with the groom.
The wedding was spectacular! Our guests were greeted as they entered the courtyard with wine and appetizers. The ceremony took place lakeside at sunset. Tikki torches lit the walkway for our bride and groom. A cocktail reception for 110 people with live music and dancing followed. Canopied by trees with lights suspended from the branches, the courtyard is an intimate lakefront gem perfect for a wedding.
Thank you Kay and your wonderful and professional staff,
Cathy and Brad Goodman
The Inn at Pelican Bay usually offers two ceremony sites: a beach wedding site, and a site by the lake in the grass. I didn't want to do either. When we were shown the space where they typically have receptions-the outdoor courtyard- I knew I had to have that space for our ceremony. It was a perfect space for an outdoor October wedding; slightly isolated with enough trees to provide shade and a beautiful setting. The bridal suite I booked was gorgeous and more than accommodated the needs of myself and my bridal party. The only reason I am not giving five stars is because of a miscommunication with the event manager that was upsetting and threatened to cause some serious problems.
All of our family stayed here before the wedding, and I stayed the night before and with my new husband the night of our wedding. Overall the hotel is nice, but I was disappointed that the champagne promised to be in my suite was not there and never came. I was also disappointed on the day of my wedding when I went downstairs in a panic looking for a razor and they told me I could walk over to CVS. One other irritating factor was the elevator moves at the speed of a turtle, and I felt I spent half my time in the hotel waiting for an elevator. The room was nice and staff that I talked to was nice, but nothing too memorable that would make me want to go back. I hope my family enjoyed it more.
After exploring The Ritz, La Playa, among others...we heard about The Inn at Pelican Bay at a bridal show and thought we should check them out. Certainly glad we did! The botique hotel has access to an amazing private beach that allowed us to have the wedding of our dreams! The hotel is cute and very affordable and not far from the amazing ceremony site.
