We are so glad that we chose Joshua and his team to photograph and video our wedding. We were drawn to his photos and his ability to capture weddings through his website, and we ar...
e so very happy with how he captured our special day. Joshua is incredibly talented at finding moments and people to take photos of throughout the event. We look back so fondly on the photos he took for us because you can truly feel the emotion in us and our guests. His communication was great from the beginning, and we could not be happier with the photos, video, and album that he and his team worked on for us. He is passionate about his craft and works hard to make the weddings he captures so special!
Joshua was my photographer for my wedding at Windham Manor. He took photos of the day that told the story, including all of the emotions that go along with it! Joshua will do whate...
ver you would like him to- if you want group shots he’ll do as many as you’d like or couples shots, he’ll know all the best spots! My friends and family loved the photos so much, I even had some bridesmaids buy their own copies! He was polite, professional and you barely knew he was there (which is a good thing for a photographer, trust me)! I would recommend Joshua to another bride in a heartbeat!
Joshua was the photographer for my wedding which took place in my parent's garden in a private country club the Catskills. He hung around for most of the day to capture so many imp...
ortant moments. He was kind and polite, the children loved him, and the photos came out amazing!! I had a few of the images blown up and one printed onto tin. I couldn't be happier with the quality of work and I have no hesitation recommending him to others.
Cannot recommend Joshua enough!!! He was so easy to work with and his pictures simply spectacular. Couldn’t have been more impressed and amazed with how they turned out. Working wi...
th him was such a pleasure, and took a lot of stress off as he is SO experienced!! We also got our photos back extremely fast and are reliving our wedding thru our photos. Seriously, book him!
One of my best friends hired Joshua Brown Photography for her wedding in 2016, and we all loved his un-obtrusive approach focused on capturing real candid moments as well as his be...
autiful, natural editing (as opposed to overly processed). I also hate the stereotypical "wedding shots" which are so cliche - the dress hanging in the window, the shoes staged with the ring, etc etc. So when my wedding came around in 2023, while I did look elsewhere to compare photographers and price packages, I just knew what I would be getting with Joshua Brown. Our reception was held at a restaurant (Goosefeather) and we really wanted there to be a relaxed, intimate atmosphere which was a perfect fit for Joshua's approach. While Joshua himself was booked for our wedding date, his associates were available for photography and videography. I was able to look at their galleries for other couples' weddings, and I saw much of the same philosophy - focused on capturing candid moments naturally - so I went ahead and booked them.
Marlon (photographer) and Nick (videographer) were a breeze to work with. We didn't do an engagement shoot or meet them before wedding day, but they were so easygoing and un-obtrusive that it didn't matter. We just got to experience our wedding day - ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception - for the most part, oblivious to their movements and presence (other than getting ready photos and posed family photos). Receiving the gallery only ~2 weeks after the wedding was also a joy - they have such a fast turnaround time!
We were blown away by the gallery that they created. They did such a beautiful job capturing our wedding day. We loved all of the moments captured so naturally - meaningful, candid, heartfelt, hilarious, and everything in between. Us giggling in church, details of my outfits, a friend lovingly feeding his daughter, tears, laughter - the "in between" moments. They allowed us a glimpse into what our loved ones' experience of the day was when we weren't able to see them all in real time - their reactions, their joy, their laughter. They even captured the staging of a gorgeous desserts table which I completely missed - the pastry chef tossed powdered sugar on the table like Jackson Pollock! I had no idea that even happened on our wedding day, but I got to experience the drama and beauty of it through the photography.
Marlon used the lighting of the day and at the venue so well without needing to rely on heavy post-processing. Our loved ones have also been commenting on how much they love the gallery.
If capturing intimate moments at your wedding, rather than dramatically staged shots with lots of editing, is your goal - then Joshua Brown and his associates are the way to go.
We really wanted a photographer who would be both very unobtrusive, but also capture beautiful, authentic moments (and a few good pics of us). Joshua and his team did exactly that-...
-our photos are beautiful (and came SO fast)--our favorites are all the pictures of our friends and family smiling and so joyful throughout the party. Definitely recommend if lowkey, beautiful, authentic (rather than more traditional) wedding photography is what you're looking for!
Joshua and his team were amazing from start to finish! Joshua was super understanding and flexible with us as we got closer to the wedding and decided to add new things like the ph...
oto booth and rehearsal dinner coverage. He was also super cool, calm and collected on the day of the wedding, which was honestly huge when we started running behind schedule prior to the ceremony. The end-product was absolutely perfect too! We loved the genuine and candid nature of all the photos that really encapsulated everyone’s excitement all wedding weekend. As an added plus, the turnaround on our wedding photos was honestly superhuman! And they all looked amazing! Can’t speak highly enough about our experience!
Joshua was absolutely wonderful to work with! When originally planning our wedding, we did not intend to have a videographer, but as the pandemic kept many of our guests from being...
able to attend, we reached out to Joshua last minute to see if he would be able to film the ceremony and key events for us, so we could share them with everyone who couldn’t be there in person. We really weren’t sure what we wanted this to look like, but the footage Joshua gave us is exactly what we didn’t know we wanted and is absolutely stunning! It so perfectly captures the joy and love of the day and is something we are so excited to be able to share with our loved ones!
We could not have chosen a better photographer for our micro-wedding/elopement (8 total guests). Joshua was communicative and responsive to our specific requests. For example, he s...
uggested the right video so that we were able to send the footage to most of our family who lives in another country - we are all ecstatic at how it turned out. Joshua is very clear and level-headed in the direction he gives, so I always knew what to expect. Joshua's style is so beautiful and he did a great job of capturing special moments I didn't even see! If you're having an elopement or a micro wedding, do yourself a favor and hire Joshua Brown Photography!

ing around the week before our wedding, I scheduled calls with all of our vendors to make sure we had everything we needed and everyone else had a laundry list of things for me - except Joshua. You can rest assured that he's got everything covered which is such a relief when planning a wedding.
We loved that he's not a fan of corny group shots and loved the "broody" tone of his photos which is why we booked him. But after viewing the first round of photos he gave to us from our wedding I see there is so much more - he found pockets of light and areas of our venue that I would have walked right past. Some of the photos I was skeptical about during the shoot (like standing in an outcropping of ferns) are my favorite. I was also shocked to get the first wave of photos two days after our wedding. They were everything I had hoped for and they aren't even retouched yet. Also looking through the crowd shots - I think he managed to capture every single one of our guests in a meaningful way. I am so impressed with the moments he caught on film and the happy expressions he captured on everyone's faces.
I also appreciated that as the night was ending, he checked in with me to see if there was anything else I wanted captured. I felt like he really cared that we got everything we were hoping for out of working with him.
I can't recommend him enough - Thank you so much for capturing our special day.

tos that recreate our wedding day in careful detail for us and our family. Joshua is also kind and calm, and spent a lot of time discussing what we wanted and the details of the wedding with us in the months before the event. He knew exactly where to be and when, and it shows in the moments captured in our photos, particularly the candid shots. His assistant Allie is also extremely talented - she took lovely candid portraits of our guests. They both handled our rainy wedding without any problem, and they provided us with our photos well within a reasonable time frame. Our trust in Joshua Brown Photography was well-placed - we are so happy with the photos we received and the services provided to us.

Joshua captured the light and scenery beautifully and we are so thrilled with all of the pictures we’ve received. Wow. Joshua and his team are masters of their craft. They were efficient, professional, rapid-service providers (we received photos the day after our wedding)...and the photos are ...
absolutely outstanding. They captured honest moments of extreme joy and emotional rawness and we are so fortunate to have worked with them. I can't wait to recommend them to anyone in need of superb photography/videography!

tiful Maple Shade Farm in the Catskills. Our interactions with Joshua prior to the event were professional and reassuring. On the day of, we were hardly aware of Joshua's presence, yet he managed to capture all the right moments beautifully. And his editing job was second to none - the final product was heart-felt and reflected exactly the mood we'd asked him for. Turn around time was as promised. And, to top it off, Joshua went out of his way (in a big way!) after the wedding day to fulfill an urgent special request for certain footage that we needed. If you want a video for your special day, you will be very happy with Joshua and his team.

day I felt kind of sad until I saw our BEAUTIFUL photographs which Joshua turned around in a just a few days. Suddenly all the amazing memories from that day came flooding back to me! Joshua and his assistant captured the personalities of our guests and the "vibe" of the wedding perfectly. I was so grateful he was able to work with us to find a package that fit our budget. We chose him because we wanted pictures of people and moments not a bunch of posed portraits and stuff and he delivered that to a t. He was totally unobtrusive and got amazing shots of the action without anyone really knowing he was there. He was also able to capture the colors of our fall wedding in the Hudson Valley in all their breath-taking glory. Can't say enough good things about Joshua and his photography.
Joshua Brown Photography shot our wedding at Boscobel House & Gardens in Garrison, NY in September 2017 and we could not be happier with the results and our decision in Joshua and ...
his team. Joshua Brown made the day truly unforgettable and the photographs taken are absolutely stunning. The way Joshua is able to capture candid moments and raw emotion not only makes for beautiful photos, but highlights the sheer talent and experience Joshua has as a photography. His easy going approach to the day aided in the process and made all of us feel comfortable. We did not want run of the mill or over-posed wedding photographs, and we did not get this. From captures at the ceremony and many action shots at the reception, Joshua, and Austin, delivered to us what we had hoped and wanted for our wedding. The planning process was a breeze and always appreciated leading up to the wedding day and photos were delivered to us in a prompt manner. Thank you Joshua for sharing your expertise with us, we greatly appreciate the photos and immensely respect your talent. Highly Recommend!

ime, we were living in Boston and Joshua traveled up for an early morning shoot to beat the morning foot traffic of the Boston Public Gardens. We had such an amazing experience then and knew we had made the right decision hiring Joshua for our wedding as well. Joshua is very punctual as well as knowledgeable. He was always looking to the surroundings for the best spots to take a picture, even if they were off the beaten path. He definitely has a more relaxed capturing style, to get the "in the moment" shots. While we were on our honeymoon Joshua had sent us 100 of his favorite pictures. We loved seeing some of our wedding photos so soon (I couldn't believe how fast!) and they were just beautiful. I would say less than a month after our wedding Joshua provided us with all of our wedding photos, and the full collection was just stunning. I can't say enough good things about having him as a photographer in general. I feel like he was there capturing everything but he wasn't seen. I highly recommend him!!
We had a great experience with Joshua Brown Photography doing our wedding last year at the Bowers Museum in Santa Ana, CA. He was punctual and professional, and we got our pictures...
back surprisingly fast! We loved that he worked to get pictures of every single person present at the wedding. Josh has a special ability with candid shots that captured the personalities of our friends and family so well. He captured moments that we missed at our own wedding! We highly recommend him.
We can't rave enough about Joshua and Austin. We were looking for a photographer that didn't just take good staged photos but a photographer who took photos that captured moments. ...
Well Joshua did just that. Joshua is not the type of photographer that gets in the middle of a crowd and makes his presence known, he is more the type to fall back, paying attention to the little details, capturing all the intimate moments happening all around. The photos he took from our wedding came out beautifully and we couldn't have been more thrilled when they arrived to us shortly after the wedding. Besides Joshua's talent as a photographer is was also extremely professional and just an all around nice guy. Leading up to the wedding he was extremely responsive and helpful with all of our questions. We loved both Joshua and Austin and would 100% recommend them to anyone who is planning their wedding.

tos and was able to capture some really special moments and emotions throughout the day! My husband and I love all of the photos he took, whether they were posed or candid. Joshua has quite the eye and can make any back drop look beautiful. It has been 6 months since our wedding and I still look back at our wedding photos in complete awe. I have received countless compliments from friends and family about our photos too! If you are planning a Hudson Valley wedding I highly suggest considering Joshua Brown as your wedding photographer. You won't be disappointed!

r couples that your photos and video are the best way to hold on to the amazing memories of your special day. We couldn't have been happier with our choice. Joshua made the process of preparing for our big day completely stress free, offering his advice and guidance every step of the way. Joshua and his team were extremely professional and a joy to be around. They were personable, never intrusive and well dressed :). Our main objective was capturing the more candid moments of the day and the beauty of our venue. Joshua and his team managed this effortlessly. In addition to taking beautiful photos, that well exceeded our expectations, Joshua also provided them in a very prompt manner. We were pleasantly surprised to receive them so quickly. In addition to his photography services, we utilized Joshua and his team for our video. We cannot stress enough how much we loved our video, we have received compliments from everyone on the quality and creativity. It was the perfect summary of our amazing day capturing so many moments that we will cherish forever, all thanks to Joshua and his team. We highly recommend using Joshua Brown Photography for any of your photography and videography needs.

ut Joshua captured me looking gorgeous and happy on my wedding day. Rather than a ton of posed photos of family, Joshua captured awesome candids of everyone having the greatest time at our wedding. He is the best photographer i could recommend.

how quickly the night would pass us by. Joshua seemed to capture every emotion which was shared on that day, and we are lucky to have memory of it all. His website has been easy to use, and my family was able to access a selection of pictures within a few days. We loved working with Joshua and would highly recommend him.

In preparation for our Los Angeles wedding in May 2015, we searched high and low for the best photographer. We were going for a budget wedding, but we splurged on the photographer...
. IT WAS SO WORTH IT. His pictures made our reception and wedding look more beautiful than I even remember it. And best of all, he really captured amazing candid moments with just about every click of his camera. Hiring him was the best wedding prep decision we made. These pictures are now one of my greatest treasures. I will buried them.
He was very professional and easy going. After our marriage ceremony, we were running late to meet him for another photo session. He was patient, yet helped us get the most out of the limited time that we had. My hair was getting a bit frazzled and my dress started to wrinkle, but somehow he was able to make everything look perfect. The wedding video they made for us is very well done. Joshua’s team was very friendly and pleasant to work with, and they are all incredibly skilled. They were also very prompt to respond to questions and to send us pictures, etc.
Right after the wedding party ended, Joshua sent us some of the highlights so we could enjoy them over the honeymoon. We were in awe of how stunning the pictures turned out to be. We are in love with Joshua Brown Photography.
I cannot recommend him highly enough.
We got married in May 2015. Getting Josh as our wedding photographer was one of the highlights of our wedding festivities.
I think Josh’s greatest strength lies in his ability...
to capture candid and personal moments that can’t be planned or staged. Of course, he’ll cover all of the traditional family and friend group shots, the first dance, cutting the cake, bouquet toss, etc etc. He’s great at staging those. But the photos we and our guests love the most from our wedding are the ones in which the people in the frame are just being themselves, enjoying the moment, unaware of the photographer. In that sense, Josh is great about floating around the festivities, mingling with guests and not making a big show of being a professional photographer.
He was very easy to work with in terms of setting up the logistics – flights, hotels, cars, etc. And he was great about covering multiple locations and multiple things prior to, during and after the wedding. He covered two different locations around LA, about an hour apart, to get photos of my wife and I getting ready. Then the ceremony took place in a different location. Then we had a reception later that day close to Thousand Oaks, in my wife’s parents’ back yard. Again, Josh was great about covering all of those locations.
Josh was great in terms of coaching us through the day. We had a lot of help from friends and family. But whenever we were on the spot, (which happened a lot that day) with everyone staring at us, watching our every move, Josh , with his calm and reassuring demeanor, talked us through it all and even rescued us from a couple potentially embarrassing moments.
He and his team have been very easy to work with in the wake of the festivities as well. He got us early copies of the wedding before we left on our honeymoon. We had a lot of fun in the following days and weeks soaking it all in, with the help of the photos. And he’s been really helpful and patient with us as we chose the music for our video and our favorite pictures for our album.
Finally, as for the pictures themselves – I really didn’t imagine any of the photos or videos would live up to the reality of that day. Photos and videos almost never do. But they were really beautiful and captured the moments that we want to remember. They also helped us see our festivities and friends and family from perspectives that obviously escaped our attention. (Everything was a bit of a blur that day.)
We highly recommend hiring Josh for your occasion, if you have the chance.
We got married on January 2, 2016. We heard about Joshua from a friend. We got married in NYC (Brooklyn - at the Liberty Warehouse). However, we did our first look at the Grand ...
Hyatt in Manhattan, took our couples pictures on the roof at the Hyatt, then went to Grand Central for more couples photos before going to Liberty Warehouse (the venue). At the venue, we did more couples pictures followed by our group photos at Liberty Warehouse which meant group photos of the 9 groomsmen, the 9 bridesmaids, the 2 flower girls and one ring bearer, AND 40+ family members!!! To say that Joshua and his team were calm and professional would be an understatement. They managed to calmly and seamlessly take pictures (posed and candid) at 3 different locations, in addition to the ceremony, the cocktail hour and the very festive wedding (over 200 guests and lots of personalities). Throughout the day, Joshua was a steady hand and for me as the bride, that was exactly what I needed. I don't even remember seeing him or his crew at the ceremony, cocktail hour or reception. They just blended in! We've now gotten our pictures and they are AMAZING. The candid shots from the venue are fantastic and the pictures form Grand Central are breathtaking. We've ordered pictures as well and they are already framed. Everyone who sees them can't stop commenting on the quality. We highly recommend Joshua and his team!

e big day. Out of all of them, Joshua was, by far, the best choice we made!
Not only was his communication, organization, and professionalism top notch but his picture quality was absolutely incredible. We are blown away by the pictures and his (and his staff's) ability to seemingly be everywhere and capture every important moment.
We cannot recommend Joshua Brown enough. In talking to other friends (and hearing some horror stories) we've grown even more confident that Joshua is truly the best. He was completely willing to accommodate our particular family needs and was patient through last minute chaotic changes. He's truly a partner in getting the wedding you want.

ral Park we knew we met our match. For our Long Island wedding at the Cold Spring Country Club, he captured not only the big moments, but the tiny details in between. He doesn't carry crazy lighting and screens, he doesn't need to. What he did with natural light is beyond amazing. Joshua gave us exactly what we were looking for, the ability to relive our wedding day through each and every photo. Gifted and genuine to a T.
We found Joshua online and decided to use him after meeting with several photographers, viewing his portfolio, and meeting with him in person. He is laid back and very calm, but a...
lso very professional and a man of his word. We got married at night in the middle of winter, under challenging lighting conditions. Joshua still took excellent pictures. Most of all, his timing was fantastic. He captured candid moments that many wedding photographers, who tend to focus on "traditional" shots, would have missed. If you're going to use him, this is something that you need to be aware of, and want for yourselves. Although he still does some traditional shots, he takes more of a "street photographer" approach to his photography, rather than classic, run of the mill wedding shots. Joshua stayed as late as we needed him and patiently worked with us after the fact to narrow down the pictures we wanted for our album. His website was very easy to use and we received our photos without a long wait. A final point worth noting: Joshua's assignment with us ended approximately two hours early. Even though we got married five years ago, Joshua is sticking to his word to let us complete our time with him at a location of our choosing. That speaks volumes about his integrity and honesty. I highly recommend him.

tions of us and our guests leaving us with vivid and beautiful memories that we cherish now, four years later possibly more than when the day was fresh in our minds.
Joshua focused less on the scene and more on interactions and reactions. This approach best captured the moments that were most important for us to remember as well as those that we missed. It was fun to see how much fun our guests had and how touched they were by the ceremony without needing to ask.
Besides producing beautiful photos that told a detailed story story about our experiences that day, Joshua was wonderful to work with. He was creative and enjoyed what he was doing. He never told us what to do, got in the way, or intruded on a special moment -- most of the time we were unaware he was there. He has a low-key relaxed demeanor and takes his work seriously so I didn't have to worry about it, which made for a non stressful wedding day from start to finish. I was particularly impressed when a random guest without our consent began ordering Joshua around about what posed photos he should shoot. Joshua complied with the requests, ignored the guest's disrespectful tone, and quickly turned his attention back to the party at large. This could have easily turned into a dramatic scene, but instead it was nothing more than a blip on my radar. I am so grateful for his professionalism in that moment.
Overall my husband and I love our photos, received numerous unsolicited praises from friends and family on the images and albums, and have nothing negative to say about working with Joshua. We highly recommend him!
Hiring Joshua Brown to take our wedding photos was one of the best decisions we made! I found Joshua online after browsing through countless photographer's websites. When I saw his...
photos, I immediately knew he would be capable of capturing our day in the more relaxed style I was hoping for. His rates were very competitive and the booking process was simple and straightforward. He was prompt and courteous throughout all of our email exchanges in the months and weeks leading up to the wedding. In addition to the base package, we paid to have Joshua bring a second photographer and had him set up a photo booth which was triggered by our guests.
We were married at the Bowery Hotel in NYC in May 2014, and we are so thrilled with how our photos turned out. Joshua and his associate were able to capture so many incredible moments...from the getting ready shots, to our first look and couple portraits, to the ceremony and the reception, the photos truly express the the beauty and emotion of the entire day. I love the candid feeling of the photographs. Looking back at them allows me to not only re-live the day as I remember it, but to see it through the eyes of all of our guests.
I am so grateful to Joshua and his associate for the fantastic job they did! They were were professional and unobtrusive throughout the ceremony and reception, and I was amazed by both the quantity and quality of shots they were able to get. If you're looking for an easy-going wedding photographer with a more journalistic approach, I think you will be thrilled with your decision to hire Joshua Brown!

mpressed. My husband and I just received our photos for portraits, ceremony and reception and they are stunning! We've shared with family and friends and they all are also so impressed. He has a keen eye to capture great casual moments without being in your face, we didn't even notice him much around at the wedding but after looking at the photos he was everywhere and capturing great natural moments with our family and friends. Would totally recommend him, definitely a very professional photographer and we are lucky to have him doing weddings, specially gay weddings. Amazing talent.
