Kindred Soul Photography

I absolutely loved Amber, up until after the wedding. She took our engagements and my bridals and the photos were stunning, I have no complaints. However, her communication is terrible. It was hard to get in contact with her before the wedding, but after the wedding, she completely ghosted us. I got one response, two months after the wedding, saying we would receive our photos that weekend. We didn't get them until a month later. I understand editing photos is time-consuming, but it was SO stressful wondering why she would not respond to my text messages/calls/emails. The photos did turn out great, but she loses lots of points in my book for communication.

I hired Amber as a recommendation from my amazing wedding planner/coordinator, so expected her to be just as awesome or better. Weddings are expensive and an investment, so I expect to get a good return on it. At the beginning for our engagement pics all was cool and I feeling confident about using her services. My wedding was kinda still during the height of covid, but everything seemed to be going well until the week of my wedding when I rec'd a text from her that she was not going to be able to shoot at my wedding bc she wasn't feeling well. I obviously was upset bc my contract was with her, but I had to be understanding of the situation too. What I didn't like was I had to trust a colleague of hers (Heather) who I had never met and didn't meet until my wedding day to take the best pictures possible. She did mediocre, and didn't capture very many couples pics nor family pics. (So glad I had relatives and friends who brought cameras. Most took better pics than the paid photographer, but I didn't pay them, I paid Kindred Souls for quality pics). She kinda rushed through our main pics and all the outdoor pics are hideous. Amber stated though she couldn't shoot my wedding, she'd do the editing, but she was sooo hard to get a hold of regarding status of my prints and just communication PERIOD! My wedding was in September and I didn't get my photos till mid December. I'd say I'm patient, but 4 months is ridiculous. When I sent my favorites back to her for editing I advised her they were not the clearest they could be and were too dark and to reedit. Here we are at the end of February and I still haven't heard back from Amber. Truly UNprofessional, poor customer service and a bad look on this business. They don't have to worry about me referring ANYONE to them! A waste of close to $1800, sigh.

If you want a fun, awesome, spunky photographer- you want to hire Amber! She is absolutely amazing . My husband and I used her to engagements, wedding, and boudoir ;), and she is now our FOREVER photographer. She does amazing work, and has fun while doing it. 15/10 recommend her!

Amber is just everything you need in a photographer and more. She's your hype girl, friend to lean on, confidence booster, an honest opinion, and everything in between. She finds the best shots, most creative ideas and perfect angles to make sure you get the photos you really want; and sometimes the photos you didn't even know you NEED! She listens to your concerns, and completely assures you that she's got it under control (and she does!). She's super experienced and brings her Amber flair to every shoot - she makes you feel super comfortable in front of the camera, and is constantly going the extra mile for her clients. My bridal party was obsessed with her fun and laid back personality! I truly couldn't have hired a better photographer for my wedding, she cut out so much of the stress for me and I could enjoy my day without worrying about photos for a second, because I can always count on Amber to bring the magic! She can truly do it all, from the romantic, moody shoots to light and airy, golden hour photos; she just kills it every time. On top of having an extremely talented photographer, I could also completely be myself around her and I felt like she just gets me. I didn't just have a wedding photographer, I had a friend behind the camera! She's the best!
