LPL (especially Eden! ) creates a dream for our wedding. We coordinated almost everything from a distance, and she made sure everything was beyond perfect. We stayed at the lodge, had our ceremony and reception there, and had Chef do our food and cake. The process was easy, communication was spectacular. Eden made me feel like a queen and made everything go so smoothly, even when the button on my dress broke 5 minutes before the ceremony (of course someone was there from LPL so repair it in time!) When we realized the night before we didn’t have table cards or menus, Eden made them and had them ready! There were more special touches than I can possibly list, and we can’t wait to return to the Lodge for many years to come.
When we walked into Lake Placid Lodge we knew instantly that this is where we wanted to get married. The lodge is so beautiful, and rustic, and cozy. Each room is prettier than the next - from the fireplaces, to the antique rugs, to the rustic furniture .. you will feel like you are secluded in your own cozy winter wonderland. For our small, intimate wedding we knew we wanted something special - and Lake Placid Lodge was just that.
The planning process was a bit complicated. Perhaps I'm just an over organized person, but I often felt like I had to follow up with multiple emails and reminders in order to get answers. The lack of communication meant most of our planning was unfortunately left for the last two weeks - which caused a bit of chaos. There were billing errors, and food errors, and other timing errors - BUT nothing significant enough to damper the big day. Ashley (who took over for Chris as the coordinator) and CJ (the general manager) were very accommodating. Their hospitality more than made up for any of our planning frustrations.
The food was wonderful, our guests raved about the venue, and the atmosphere was PERFECT for our simple rustic winter wedding. Lake Placid Lodge is VERY expensive compared to other venues in the location, but if we had to do it all over again we would 100% do it exactly the same. Sometimes location and venue are worth the price, hiccups and all. My advice: don't be afraid to follow up again and again, double check your receipts, and make lists of everything you brought and want to take home.
It is impossible to surpass the level of service that my wedding guests and I received by the Lake Placid Lodge staff. Tom, the property manager, was incredibly accommodating, friendly, helpful, detail-oriented, available and pretty much willing to do anything I asked. I highly recommend this location!
Do not have your wedding with Lake Placid Lodge. We attempted to book our wedding and it took almost two months for Greta, the sales manager, to get back to us. By the time she finally got back to us the date and time for our wedding had been filled. If she had gotten back to us on time we would have had our desired time slot. She made no attempt to rectify the situation. There was such a huge time lag in her responses back to us that I had to tweet the Lake Placid Lodge on twitter, and even then I didn't receive a response. Horrible service.
We instantly fell in love with the lodge when we visited the fall before we got married. We knew with the views of the lake that we had to have our ceremony on the patio overlooking the lake. Unfortunately since we were getting married in March, our numbers were a bit too big to have both the wedding and reception at the lodge. We decided to have the ceremony and rehearsal dinner at the lodge and it was the best decision we could have made. Working with Amanda was an absolute pleasure. She has the most calming demeanor which came in handy during the rehearsal. The food was absolutely amazing. We went for the family style BBQ to switch it up a bit from the more formal wedding food that we would have the following night. It was so good and our guests really appreciated the uniqueness. Amanda made sure the ceremony went perfectly. She was awesome! Highly recommend any event at the lodge. We can't wait to go back!
We had our wedding in early Aug 2013 and could not have had a better experience. Greta and the whole staff was amazing from start to finish! All of the ceremony venues are spectacular and the porch that we got married on was so beautiful. Thanks to the Lake Placid Lodge for making our wedding so special and unique.
Our wedding was perfect. Every single staff member at the lodge bent over backwards to make our weekend PERFECT!! They all knew who we were, even with it being a busy weekend for them. They were helpful from the beginning, all of our consultations were great and they helped us plan the best day of our lives! We cant wait to go back for another relaxing weekend very soon.
