We did our entire wedding weekend at LaKota Oaks. Working with Henrietta was efficient, professional, and comprehensive. Henrietta was responsive and extremely helpful in planning the important details. LaKota's food and service was top-notch, guests loved the s'mores welcome event, rehearsal dinner, and reception events. The hotel experience was also great. Staff was flexible with our weekend events and incredibly professional and caring. We loved our experience all-around!

LaKota Oaks is a beautiful venue with great food and service. But that's not why you pick this place. You pick this place because of Hazel. She was absolutely amazing and helped us have a spectacular day. I was a bride not looking forward to the pomp and fuss of a wedding- Hazel helped even me enjoy the day. LaKota Oaks staff was very accommodating and they really did try to work with us on all of our personal requests.
On top of that- it was beyond helpful to be so close to our rooms.
10/10 would recommend.

Wow! Where to begin. This is an amazing place to get married. From the moment we booked, the stress of wedding planning was lessened by the smiling and helpful face of Hazel. She patiently walked me through everything (sometimes multiple times) and made sure everything was so perfect for us. The grounds are so beautiful, and it was a joy to see how quickly our guests were able to relax and enjoy themselves. The staff made everything so special and took care of us like family. Thank you Hazel, Thank you Lakota Oaks Staff, you are miracle workers!!

We had our wedding this past weekend at Lakota and it was INCREDIBLE. We actually visited this venue first when we were looking for a place for our wedding, and after meeting Hazel and seeing the grounds- we knew this was it. The food was amazing, all our relatives were talking about it the next day, and from start to finish we felt at home and taken care of.
Hazel may seem "bossy", but she is truly incredible to work with. Her number one priority it you and making sure everything runs smoothly; if it doesn't she makes sure to fix it so it will.
I cannot think of a better place than Lakota for a beautiful, fun time. The grounds are breathtaking- so pictures are always incredible as well. And everything is definitely reasonably priced- weddings are expensive, but Lakota's pricings are fair and definitely worth it with all the extra care and attention you get.

LaKota Oaks was the perfect fit for our reception! Hazel is responsive, knowledgeable and very willing to work with you and your specific needs. Not to mention after the renovations, the ballroom was absolutely stunning! Having rooms, a restaurant, outdoor space, decorative grounds, and the ballroom all in one place was ideal. We had a special catered bbq for guests the night before the wedding, Saturday wedding, and Sunday breakfast. The food was spectacular and the presentation impressive! The staff was attentive and everyone is still talking about it to this day! 10/10 would recommend for your special day!

My husband and I had our wedding reception at LaKota Oaks in May. Walking the grounds of LaKota Oaks, we fell in love with the space and its glamorous and rustic ambience. It was a huge plus for us that LaKota Oaks has on-site accommodations and the rooms are reasonably priced and very nice. Once we met the Director of Catering, the amazing Hazel Scudder, we absolutely knew LaKota Oaks was the place for us. From beginning to end, Hazel was an extraordinary help and advocate throughout the (often stressful) wedding process. Her organizational skills are bar none and she helped us create our wedding schedule, provided local vendor recommendations, kept us & our wedding vendors informed, bustled my wedding dress the day of (!!) all the while bringing a smile to our faces and keeping the mood up-beat. Hazel goes above and beyond and clearly loves what she does. I can’t stress enough how working with Hazel is a huge benefit and one you may not consider when looking at wedding venues.
Thank you so much for making our wedding reception so perfect! We’re looking forward to persuading our friends to get married at LaKota Oaks so we can come back as an alumni couple! 😊

From the day we booked our wedding to the day it occurred we were never disappointed in the least with this venue. Despite the "Nor-Easter rain storm" that made its way in on our wedding day the day remained perfect for us and our guests. Loved how our ceremony, celebration and accommodations all took place in one location and the grounds were just beautiful. Our guest feedback could not stop sharing just how perfect everything came together, the food, the staff, the venue and such a great time they had. A decent portion of that amazing effort goes to Hazel the wedding venue's coordinator that prioritizes "you" as being the most important couple and never missing a beat and keeping everything in line on our wedding day. I can't forget to mention again the staff at the venue…. one word " Exemplary" Thank you everyone for making this day one of our best moments to remember today, tomorrow always.

In writing this review, we cannot think of a single negative thing to say about LaKota Oaks. We fell in love with Lakota Oaks (then Dolce) the moment we walked in and met with Hazel. The venue is beautiful both inside and out. The grounds were perfect for taking gorgeous Fall wedding pictures. The food was outstanding for both cocktail hour and dinner, and the portions were generous. The wait staff was attentive and friendly. Hazel made us feel comfortable from day one, and was always on top of next steps. Many of our guests spent the entire weekend at the venue and enjoyed all the amenities. We received nothing but great feedback from our guests as well. LaKota Oaks was a huge part of us having a perfect day.

We had a wonderful experience working with Hazel at LaKota Oaks! She was so accommodating and helpful with answering a million emails from me and my fiancé, and all four of our parents, as we planned our wedding from four different states. We loved having our guests able to enjoy the wonderful grounds and facilities for the entire wedding weekend (which they loved), and the fact that we were able to have our ceremony, reception, and guest rooms all in one place was such a comfort. We also had a built-in rain location for the ceremony, which saved us a lot of stress. But we ended up having the ceremony at the Wedding Tree, and it was beautiful. The food was also great, and we really appreciated that the wedding cake was part of our package, which saved us the extra research of finding a local bakery. Plus, it was delicious! Hazel also has a great alumni group on facebook so we could ask fellow LaKota couples any questions that came up during the planning process. We are so glad we got married there and highly recommend it!

LaKota Oaks was the perfect venue for our September wedding of 90 guests. Right from our first meeting with on-site coordinator Hazel, I immediately understood why she was mentioned by name in most of the reviews we had read. Ours is no different! Hazel left no question unanswered and no detail neglected. She patiently and thoroughly addressed all of my concerns, and even anticipated some before I did. The rest of the staff at Lakota is also wonderful – my guests said the service they received was phenomenal and the Fillet Mignon was the best meal they have ever had at a wedding, each steak was cooked to perfection. Having everything on site makes it such a pleasant experience for the guests and really felt like a getaway for everyone. The reception and ceremony were set up exactly as I requested with every detail placed just as I had planned. I would highly recommend this venue for anyone planning a smaller event like ours in the Norwalk room, as well as for bigger weddings in the Ballroom. We cannot thank Hazel and the Lakota Oaks team enough for making our dream wedding a reality!

We booked when this was still Dolce, but the name change didn’t affect anything. Hazel is a GENIUS and is an amazing wedding planner (for the reception portion), mood lifter, organizer, recommender, and generally great help with everything. We were looking for a venue that had beautiful outdoor space with on premise hotel accommodations, and many people were surprised that such a beautiful spot was so conveniently located in the middle of fairfield county. The ballroom could use updating truth be told, but i understand that is on the plan. the photos by the lake are incredibly beautiful, and many guests hung out by the outdoor patio and fire pit way towards morning. And i forgot to mention the food - every time we tasted something we planned to order it for ourselves, from the beef through the vegan choices. All the guests raved about the food, from the passed and stationary Hors d’oeuvres through the cake. Omg the cake tasting! We wanted it all. Even the morning after brunch was yummy. Any time we needed this or that, Hazel could recommend someone, and they were all wonderful too. I want Hazel to organize the rest of my life, and i want takeout from Lakota for dinner.
Well, you get the idea. We loved it, the wedding was perfect, and Hazel is a dream.

LaKota Oaks, formerly Dolce, was exactly what we could have hoped for and I say this with complete earnestness. Where do we begin?!
My husband and I started our venue search over a year and a half ago, beginning with LaKota Oaks. We got an energetic venue tour with the catering sales manager Hazel Scudder. Her true title should be “Catering Sales, Wedding Planning, and Organizing on Your Big Day Manager.” We looked at a few venues, but nothing measured up to LaKota Oaks.
First of all, Hazel is in charge of making sure you know what you’re doing from the first tour until the reception happens. She was readily available through email and phone.
Second, the venue includes so much: all of the food and drinks for both cocktail hour and reception, a hotel space, outdoor ceremony space, a custom cake from DiMare’s in Stamford, table linens and tea lights, a beautiful ballroom, and a full-service gym for guests at the hotel. Oh, and a room for the couple the night of the wedding.
The day of went so smoothly because all of the pieces were accounted for. One of my favorite parts was getting to have our cocktail hour hors d’oeuvres alone with my husband right after our ceremony - where Hazel bustled my dress.
The food is absolutely delicious, all of the servers are attentive and friendly. The only vendors you really need to find are DJ/band, clothing, flowers, and officiant.
I loved my wedding prep and wedding day because of this gorgeous venue.

We had the most perfect wedding and Dolce played such a huge part in that. The events coordinator, Hazel, goes above and beyond to make sure everything goes smoothly and to the plan. She even makes sure the bride and groom get ample time to eat!
I would highly recommend Dolce to any bride looking to get married in the F airfield County area, you will not be disappointed. Plus, having your guests be able to stay on location makes things like a after party and day after brunch all the better!

The Dolce is an extraordinary place. My family and I love it there! It ended up raining right after the ceremony and the staff was quick to accomodate all the guests while planning a new location for our pictures. Hazel is also amazing! Whenever I had a question she answered right away. Hazel definitely has become part of our family!

After touring Dolce with Hazel, I knew this would be where I would celebrate the best day of my life alongside my family and friends. From the beginning, Hazel was knowledgeable and always available to answer each and every one of my many questions in a prompt and positive way. We were fortunate enough to arrive in Norwalk on a Friday and stay until Sunday, as we knew the celebration would be a weekend event. The on-site spacious hotel rooms, bar and restaurant were very convenient for all guests to access as well as the many amenities offered. I was pleasantly surprised when we were invited down for a food tasting as I thought we would get small plates to taste, when actually we were all served full size dinner entrees so that we would experience what our guests would experience the night of our wedding. After the tasting, the chef came out to personalize the menu with us and make any changes that we requested. On the day of the wedding, Hazel ensured that everything ran on schedule and worked alongside our wedding planner to attend to each and every one of our needs. There plentiful and friendly waitstaff ensured that all guests would be served each course at the same time. I can not say enough great things about my experience with Hazel at Dolce, and neither can my guests as they still share their fond memories of there time at Dolce. I look forward to returning to Dolce as an alumni bride! Thank you Hazel :)

Dolce Norwalk is the perfect package!
Hazel: First of all, the catering sales manager, Hazel, is exactly who you want coordinating any huge event. She is kind, fun, organized, clear, and both opinionated and totally flexible. I was not the easiest Bride, as I have produced large events myself, and am a picky creative type with a SUPER type-a personality. I'm sure Hazel's life would have been easier if I wasn't quite so needy and quirky, but you'd never know it. She has a way of making you feel like the only bride that ever existed- special, heard, and worth her time. She was open to my offbeat ideas, but also provided gentle guidance when I needed it. She jumped on board with our ideas, and often came up with her own contributions and thoughts. It was a very collaborative experience. But more importantly than all of that, she was always quick to respond, thorough as anyone I've ever worked with, and very clear. I always felt that she had our best interest at heart, and never felt like I was in a business deal, or part of the mammoth Wedding machine. She provides top notch, big ticket service with a welcoming, warm, and 'family business' attitude. She is absolutely half the reason to choose Dolce for your wedding. I could go on and on and on about Hazel!
The Staff: Hazel and the staff made allowances for us that I still can't even wrap my head around. For such a busy and highly sought after venue, I expected efficient but "business as usual" attitudes from the staff. After all, we're one out of how many weddings per year? But when the time came to actually load into the hotel and set up for the wedding, I and my family were completely floored by the service of everyone at Dolce. From the front desk to the wait staff to the groundskeepers, everyone was so incredibly nice, sincere and helpful. I have never experienced such a workplace of happy, , kind, wonderful people. They set the tone for the entire weekend by making everyone feel welcome, cared for, and like part of the Dolce family.
The Venue (Ceremony): I loved everything about Dolce, but I ultimately chose it for the "Wedding Tree" outdoor ceremony space. It is a peaceful, stunning location for any ceremony. Of all the many things I micromanaged on the wedding weekend, the ceremony set up and decor was not one. The staff had everyone set up perfectly and ready to go long before my guests arrived, and it was a magical site when set up.
The Venue (Reception): The traditional ballroom is as serviceable and lovely as any well cared for venue may be, but what makes Dolce really stand out is the cocktail area and patio. Before moving into that beautiful reception hall for dinner and dancing, the guests are treated to a contemporary rustic-feeling bar area with farm tables, big comfy chairs, barn doors, a fireplace, and huge glass doors and windows overlooking the wedding tree location. The bar area doors open to a magical raised patio that matches the length of the interior, with comfortable seating and tables. The patio then opens to a lovely field with Adirondack chairs, and even a fire pit. There is even a baby grand piano you may use. All of that combined with their policy that the hotel is not open to the public (only for events on the grounds), makes you feel like your own private castle.
The Food: Outstanding. I would go back to eat there again any time. I recommend especially the raspberry-brie filo dough, Statler chicken and the ice cream sundae bar!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Dolce! Aside from the venue being absolutely stunning inside and out, Hazel is a dream. Any doubt you may have, erase it. Hazel makes sure that everything is perfect. She was able to flawlessly articulate my vision alongside our vendors and her ability to handle family dynamics was impeccable. The venue has the most incredible food We have ever had at a wedding. The entire dining experience at Dolce is scrumptious from cocktail hour to dessert. One of our favorite parts of the night was not only that our guests could just walk down the hall to bed, but that we had a private suite waiting with snacks after pictures. This intimate 10 minutes we got before the reception, just to catch our breath, was magical. If I had to do it all over again, I would chose Dolce every time. Thank you Hazel & Dolce staff for making our dreams come true!

We booked our October wedding here with Hazel and she helped us pull it all together in less than a year. Hazel is truly a gem and made sure everything came together seamlessly. From the first day we met with her she made us feel welcomed with a sign in the lobby, through the night of our wedding when she stayed to make sure that everything was just right, we felt like part of the Dolce family. Hazel was always easy to get a hold of and quick with her responses to whatever questions we had for the 9 months or so we were working with her. The weekend of the wedding, we stayed the night before and the night of. The day before the wedding and even the day after Hazel checked in with us multiple times to make sure we had everything that we needed and that we were all okay. The day of the wedding we had nothing to worry about. Everything was in good hands. All we had to do was show up. Our bridal party was well informed about what they needed to be doing and where they needed to be and how things were going to going. Hazel and her staff are a well oiled machine that made our day run so smoothly, and on schedule. Aside for Hazel and her amazing staff, the grounds are beautiful. The food is amazing. Family and friends called the next day and for a few days after raving about the wedding saying its the best wedding they've been to. Many people couldn't believe the amount of food that they had, some not having room for their dinner after the cocktail hour which they LOVED. Another plus is the rooms on site so people can crash and not have to drive - great especially if they take advantage of the after party at the bar just steps away from the reception when the wedding is over so your party can last for just a few more hours! Overall not enough words to describe this amazing place and the wonderful Hazel! Not only did we have a fantastic wedding and would we pick this place again but we now feel as if we are part of the Dolce wedding family! Truly a different kind of place with wonderful people . We were so spoiled by our experience here!

Our May wedding reception at Dolce was wonderful! My husband and I loved working with Hazel. She is professional, flexible, and kind. She was by far the easiest part of the wedding planning process and ensured that we were able to fully experience the actul event too!
The space was the perfect location to host our out of town guests and enjoy celebrating our wedding. We took advantage of the stunning patio for our cocktail hour, the lovely bar following dinner and dancing, and happily hosted brunch the next morning in their restaurant. Many, many thanks to Hazel and her team - wish we could do it again! I highly recommend this Fairfield County venue to any couple.

I was in the Lugo wedding on 6/10 and everything went so smoothly! The grounds are beautiful and the rooms are very well appointed and comfy.
The event space where the reception was held was amazing. Spacious for the size of the group, perfect size dance floor, and great acoustics for PA and music!
The staff were always prompt and courteous and very professional.
The after-party space was great as well, stocked bar with plenty of space to lounge around as well as a beautiful deck with plenty of seating.
Overall I had an amazing experience as a guest at Dolce Norwalk!

We had a spectacular wedding at Dolce, where are guests are still talking about it as one of the best weddings ever! Hazel is fantastic to work with and she walks you through everything you need to know. The location is simply beautiful and very relaxing, making us and our guests feel at ease. I'm looking for another reason to have another event there!

As the father of the bride I could not have been happier with Dolce Norwalk as the venue for a wedding. The atmosphere was amazing. The food was of the best quality. Everyone at the wedding kept telling me about how wonderful a place it was to have a wedding and how much they thoroughly enjoyed themselves. The service from every person involved from Dolce Norwalk was first class from the the time you checked in, throughout the celebration, and through breakfast the following morning. Hazel needs to be commended for all her her suggestions, recommendations, planning, paying attention to details, and spoiling the heck out of us. It was great to be able to stay at this hotel and have it meet every one of our needs without ever having to venture away. This is absolutely a top notch place to hold your wedding reception and I give it my highest rating for exceeding all expectations.

Where do I even begin with talking about Dolce Norwalk and the incredible Hazel Scudder? My husband and I booked our wedding almost 2 full years in advance from our wedding on June 10th 2017, and in that time this place became our second home. I remember the day that we first walked into Dolce and there was a welcome sign with our names on it right in the main entrance - and that was just a quick glimpse of the hospitality and personal touches you get when you have your wedding here. Hazel Scudder, the catering sales manager, is literally better than any wedding planner that you could pay for - and you get her with the venue (how can you beat that!?). From the beginning, she made sure everything for our day would be nothing short of perfect. I spent many afternoons with her in her office going over details, and getting hugs when I was stressed out! On the day of, she is there for the entire reception making sure that you and your guests are happy - and making sure you get to eat your meal (so important!). My guests are still raving about how amazing our wedding was, from Hazel checking in with them, to the food, and the staff taking drink orders directly from the tables so that they didn't have to wait in line at the open bar (had lots of positive feedback abut that part!) Another huge plus about the venue is that the guests have the option to stay there - so everyone was able to walk right to their rooms when the party was over, no transportation necessary! I would have my wedding here one thousand times over, and highly recommend it to any couple looking for the perfect CT wedding.

Our wedding was one for the ages and we couldn't have had it all without such a stellar staff. Hazel Scudder was our event coordinator. Meeting her when touring the facility was what made up our minds about having Dolce host the festivites. She kept us calm throughout the entire planning process, gave us sound and professional advice on multiple occasions and, on the big day, kept everything moving without a hitch. Dolce is a well oiled machine!
I went kind of nuts with the decor and made over 100 paper star lanterns to hang over the dance floor, something the staff had not quite encountered before. It was GORGEOUS. Beyond gorgeous. A huge thank you to the set up crew!
We arrived at Dolce the afternoon before; we had the entire weekend planned there, rehearsal dinner on. Once we got there, got our bags in the room, we were able to relax and follow Hazel's cues. It was truly seemless.
The outdoor ceremony under the "Wedding Tree" was pristine, the sunset right behind us, the band rocked and sounded great in the ballroom, the food was delicious and served without flaw, the outdoor patio was romantic and comfortable with outdoor heaters, and the night before I got married I got to relax with a calming dip in their heated indoor pool. I didn't want to leave!
We didn't have to worry about clean up and when we were ready, all our goodies were ready and waiting in Hazel's office for us to pick up.
I cannot recommend Dolce highly enough. Genuinely and sincerely in awe of just how magical and perfect it all was.

This venue is wonderful! Hazel is amazing always able to answer questions and help with the little details. The grounds a beautifully kept, guests will love being able to walk around or use the amenities provided. The staff are welcoming and friendly, our wedding day was blessed with a good amount of snow, guests were frazzled and running behind. Everyone was accomodating and helpful. The cocktail hour bar is large, plenty of room for guests to either wonder around and be social or sit and relax. The ballroom is beautifully done with plenty of room for a dance floor. This is the perfect all in one venue with added bonus of serenity! I would highly recommend Dolce!

We had our wedding reception at Dolce Norwalk a little over a week ago and it was perfect! The venue coordinator, Hazel, was a dream to work with. Very responsive and professional. She made planning a wedding reception extremely easy! We used all of Dolce's preferred vendors and each one worked out great. The venue itself is beautiful. All of our guests commented on what a wonderful and unique venue it was and enjoyed the grounds and the amenities that Dolce offers. I highly recommend this venue for weddings and any other events!

We had our reception at Dolce in the middle of October. While this venue was not our original venue, we couldn't have been happier with the change. :) Understanding that our first vendor had closed unexpectedly (right after our Save the Dates had been received by guests), Hazel came to the rescue. Her calm, but bubbly attitude, helped us with this difficult transition. Upon first meeting us, she gave us all a big reassuring hug, saying that everything would be okay. And it was! Hazel took care of everything and made sure that we had our dream wedding.
We also really lucked out with the weather being nice. We were able to take many beautiful photos in front of the red barn and out on the island in the lake. With the leaves all turning colors, the photos were incredible.
The entire reception staff was wonderful. Hazel was able to successfully bustle the complicated wedding dress while at the same time making sure we ate our hors d'oeuvres during the cocktail hour. She also ran the event like the captain of a ship, making sure everything ran on schedule and that we both ate our meals.
The only negative that we can think of was that we asked the staff to save the extra party favors (Bridgewater chocolates), but those favors were misplaced and were not packed with the neatly packaged decorations leftover from the wedding. We also suggest that Dolce invest in a new mattress in the bridal suite.
Overall, it was a truly amazing experience and we couldn't have been happier. We highly recommend this venue, particularly for a fall wedding due to the incredible foliage.

We absolutely loved our wedding experience at Dolce! I would highly recommend this venue to any bride to be. We had originally booked our wedding at Cobbs Mill Inn, however, when we got the terrible news that it had shut down we were distraught and desperate to find a new venue. Luckily, we came across Dolce and set up an appointment. Let me just say that Hazel was such a pleasure to work with!! Her personality, professionalism and experience make her one of a kind. A few of my friends that recently got married told me that the wedding planning can be stressful especially towards the end, however, with Hazel's help the entire process went smoothly. Thank you Hazel for all of your help! We look forward to seeing you on our 1 year anniversary!

There are not words to describe how amazing Dolce is! My husband and I knew going into our wedding day the food was going to be amazing and they certainly did not disappoint. But with the weather being rainy I was concerned my dream wedding wouldn't come true without an outside ceremony. Boy was I wrong. The amazing team at Dolce along with our florist blew my mind when they brought the outside inside. From trees to flower petals to pumpkins. They put together everything to make the most beautiful, magical moment when I turned the corner to go down the aisle. But the dedication and attention to detail did not stop there. Everything was beautiful, the rooms were comfortable, the staff were more than friendly they were like family. They were just as excited for us as our guests! Hazel is so attentive and helpful I was able to truly enjoy the entire process from planning all the way through saying I do. I 1000 times recommend Dolce Norwalk to anyone looking for the wedding of their dreams!

I wish there were more stars available! This would still not adequately describe just how amazing our wedding at Dolce Norwalk was. Hazels attention to detail and flawless execution and foresight allowed us to just focus on our wedding day and not have to worry about a thing! The entire staff is amazing and I felt like I was celebrating with family. I would recommend Dolce Norwalk to anyone who wants to have a wedding they will remember fondly for years to come.

I had the most amazing wedding ever at The Dolce and I would recommend this place a million times over. Hazel takes the stress and worries out of wedding planning and honestly helps in every aspect.. She answers every email in a timely fashion, and was fun and a breath of fresh air every time we met and talked.. Our wedding night was FANTASTIC!! everything went off without a hitch.. Hazel eased my worries and made sure everything went smoothly.. My guests shared that this was one of the best weddings they have ever been to! It was beautiful and perfect! Our experience with Dolce Norwalk was overall good. Our guests had a blast are still talking about our reception; we couldn't ask for better feedback. But there were several bumps that called for a less-than-stellar review.
The good:
-The DN grounds are vast and beautiful, peacefully tucked away in a residential area. DN is a hotel, so guests could drink and not have to worry about alternate transportation to another site after the reception.
-Hazel was terrific at keeping the reception on schedule, and she designed the timeline so that food was plentiful throughout the evening (e.g. instead of doing toasts with guests at their tables with nothing to eat, salads were brought out just prior). Don't worry about booking a separate day-of coordinator here.
-Although other groups can be present, only 1 wedding takes place at a time. We had no idea that another group was there until we saw them at the bar after the reception.
-Guests raved about the quantity AND quality of the food--as did we! And Hazel will make sure that you (the bride and groom) get to eat.
-Complimentary entrée tasting! We were so full after trying generous portions of 4 options. You can also sample some of the hors d'oeuvres at DN bridal expos.
-The room rate was very reasonable for lower Fairfield County--less than $200 a night with all taxes included.
The bad:
-Communication left much to be desired.
Hazel's response time to emails was highly inconsistent. On several occasions I had to wait well over a week or 2--and I had to follow up as well in a few instances to even get a response. After reading rave reviews about how responsive Hazel is, I expected better. To be fair, at one point Hazel was very ill and out of the office for several days, but there was no real justification for the other delays.
We were not told of renovations that DN was undergoing until they were well underway--and we found out via DN's Facebook page. In the end it wasn't an issue, but something this big should have been shared with us before we even signed our contract.
We reserved an 8-passenger van to transport our bridesmaids and groomsmen to the ceremony and back. Hazel notified ONLY me less than 3 hours prior to the ceremony that the van was "in the shop" and that we'd have to use the 6-passenger van. I relayed the message to my parents, who agreed to take one of the party members with them after the ceremony. Because no one bothered to tell the groom (which I had assumed Hazel would do--my fault for believing this), his parents were unaware of this snag, and the best man was left behind at the church after the ceremony. We missed close to a half hour of photography time AND the entire cocktail hour because of this.
My husband and I booked post-reception karaoke at DN for our guests, which was to start shortly after 11 PM. At 9 PM, Hazel came to us (while we were enjoying our meal) to tell us that the karaoke machine was "broken". No proposed solution, just that she was "very sorry". I firmly told Hazel--twice--that we would not deny our guests what we promised them and that she needed to find a solution to this problem. Thankfully our DJ offered to stay on to provide music for karaoke. Had it not been for him, our post-reception bash would have been ruined.
If it weren’t for the subpar communication (and subsequent avoidable van and karaoke situations--you'd think these would have been checked BEFORE the wedding day), Dolce Norwalk would have our full recommendation.

Dolce was not my original venue but when the Cobbs Mill Inn unexpectedly closed 9 weeks before my date they came in to save the day. It turned out to be better than I ever could have imagined. The grounds are gorgeous for photos with several options for ceremony sites, the food was impressive, they have very nice onsite accommodations and offer a buffet breakfast the next day.
The entire staff is wonderful but I must single out catering manager, Hazel Scudder, who coordinated everything for the day and she is an absolute pro. I had nothing to worry about and they day ran perfectly with her in charge.

My Husband and I were booked to get married at another venue. Unfortunately, 5 months out from our wedding we heard from a friend (not the venue) that it closed. I called Dolce in tears (literally) and Hazel made me feel as if everything was going to be okay. Once we met Hazel and saw Dolce, everything fell into place. They even made my original date work- we had already sent out save the dates. Dolce is absolutely gorgeous!!! The property was fantastic as was the service they provided. Hazel took the pressure off me so I could enjoy being the bride! I was in control with out the stress- Hazel is a life saver!! She put up with my "bride moments" and made time for me and my wedding as if it was the only one. My wedding day was the best day I could've ever dreamed of. The ceremony was perfect! The service and food was amazing! August 2, 2015 was truly the best day of my life and I owe it all to Hazel and everyone at Dolce! I felt like a queen the whole day. Our friends and family still tell me how great the wedding was and some have even asked to do it again! I would do it again in a heart beat! Loosing my first venue was truly a blessing and it brought us to the best! My husband I would recommend anyone to Dolce. We feel like Hazel and Dolce are family.

If I were forced to write a review about Dolce in 1 word I would have to choose "perfect." My ENTIRE experience with Dolce was perfect. On my wedding day, everything meshed together in a perfect harmony. My florist has done numerous events at Dolce, so they knew exactly where to put everything to create an even more stunning landscape than Dolce has just with its own grounds. We chose to do an outdoor ceremony under the "wedding tree." What we pictured vs what was delivered would be comparing standard definition vs high definition. Spectacular. When I walked down the aisle, I was in pure awe of what I saw in front of me.
Following the ceremony, my husband (still getting used to that) and I decided we would like to have a few moments to ourselves rather than join the cocktail hour, but Hazel and her team ensured we had some of our options to snack on. All of our guests were thoroughly impressed with the offering and overall quality of the entire cocktail hour.
Then came the reception. Wow. The menu we had to choose from was incredible. The tasting, even better. The dish being served at your own wedding, words can not express. Throughout the entire time, from ceremony through reception, the entire team at Dolce was there serving us hand and foot. Not once did we ever have to ask for anything, they asked us before we even knew we may want something.
Now a big part of the wedding that everyone warns you about: you will not eat at your own wedding. WRONG! Hazel and team ensured that we had plenty of opportunities to enjoy our meal. They let us know when the dishes were coming up so we could pause thanking our guests, grab some bites, and resume thanking. We not only got to every guest to thank for joining us, but got to eat every single plate that was served. I must admit, I have a weak spot for champagne, which my flute was never empty (it helps me dance better). Did I mention that the florist, DJ, and photographer have all done numerous events at Dolce, so they were friendly with the staff and knew every single caveat with Dolce in planning the setup, photos, etc.?
Yes, I know that my wedding day would be "perfect" anywhere, but I really feel that the team at Dolce went above and beyond to ensure that every single thing with my wedding day was going to be perfect. Everything. They ensured we had a timetable so everything would work out. They checked on my husband to be and his groomsmen to make sure they were actually getting ready and not goofing around. They made me feel like I was part of their family. That is HUGE. How often do we wish that we had a personal experience with any service we have? We had that. We were part of their family, and they let us know it. If we weren't happy, they weren't going to be happy. I wasn't happy, I was on cloud nine. I can usually think of a few things that I could change to make something better, but Dolce ensured that nothing could have possibly been changed to make it any better. My wedding at Dolce was perfect, in every sense of the word.

We just had our wedding at Dolce and the whole weekend was fabulous. Dolce provided beautiful scenery along with a unique set-up that allowed our guests to essentially have the run of the place for the entire weekend. The food was wonderful and the service was great. Hazel Scudder was absolutely amazing and so was easy to work with--she truly made sure that the entire day ran smoothly. We had such an amazing wedding and couldn't have been happier with our experience at Dolce.

What a perfect venue for a wedding, especially if you have guests from out of town. The setting is spectacular. Hazel was phenomenal, so professional and calming and had some terrific suggestions. She was warm and welcoming to our families from the Friday evening rehearsal to the wedding itself. She was with us every step of the way. Hazel, also had the difficult task of moving our wedding ceremony from outside to inside at the last minute. I will always be grateful to her for moving the flowers off the Chupa and using them to decorate the inside space. All of our guests raved about Dolce. The food, the setting and the Sunday Breakfast. Hazel just made everything so much easier and I didn't have to worry about anything.

Dolce is a totally hidden gem. It made my daughter's wedding amazing. I found this secret by chance and it turned out to be wonderful. It had everything we wanted from ceremony to reception along with guest rooms for our out of town guests. The best part of Dolce iis Hazel the wedding coordinator. She walked me through it all without a glitch.
Next event will be at Dolce. My guests are still talking about the best wedding they've ever been to thanks to Hazel and Dolce.

My father actually suggested we check out Dolce as he is in the event business and has worked parties there before. Knowing he has good taste, we happily obliged and I couldn't be more grateful for the suggestion. We had our ceremony, reception and morning-after brunch at Dolce AND all of our guests stayed there for the weekend. The food was AMAZING, the service was very professional and you can't beat the location. Dolce, in any season, is so beautiful and offers the intimate feel we were going for. Hazel and the team were extremely flexible and willing to accommodate our needs and took care of everything the day-of. Compared to other venues I visited (up and down Fairfield county, a few in Westchester and the surrounding areas, plus a couple in Rhode Island) Dolce has the best amenities at a price that you won't find anywhere else. I cannot praise Hazel and the Dolce team enough for making our wedding day the best day of our lives!

Dolce Norwalk was the perfect choice for my husband and I. The staff and setting were more than we could have hoped for and made our day better than we could have imagined.
From the hotel itself, to the ceremony space, to the smooth transition into cocktail hour and reception everything was beyond perfect. The staff was exceptional, especially Hazel!! This day couldn't have happened so smoothly without her!! She took care of every last detail and made sure we were where we were supposed to be and kept us on a great timeline to enjoy the night and our guests.

Dolce is a hidden gem in Norwalk. We live in a different state, but the manager, Hazel, help make our wedding planning process so smooth and stress-free. Hazel is such a warmhearted and detail oriented lady. It was so pleasant to work with her on my wedding planning. We had our wedding reception at Dolce in June. We chose Dolce because it fits the style of our weddding, elegant with a rustic country feel. We are glad we made this decision. Our wedding reception was a great success. All the guests were so impressed by the delicious food, superb service, and beautiful views at Dolce. Hazel was with us the entire night making sure everything went well. We definitely recommend Dolce to recently engaged couples who are looking for wedding venues.

Dolce Norwalk could not have been a better venue choice to hold my daughter's wedding. The attention to detail, the food, the service, and absolutely everything involved to make our day special was off the charts excellent! We have never heard so many rave reviews from guests attending a wedding as we have about Dolce Norwalk. From the very first meeting, the event manager Hazel was welcoming and informative. As we continued through the planning process she made excellent recommendations. By the time we reached rehearsal, she walked us through every step and it all played out perfectly the next day at the wedding. Having my entire wedding weekend at the Dolce Norwalk was the best decision I ever made. The entire year and a half leading up to the wedding from the large room block to the 3 parties of over 150 people, planning was seamless thanks to Hazel Scudder. She was incredibly organized, easy to work with, personable, flexible, and truly made our weekend perfect. The staff throughout the weekend was incredibly accommodating particularly Patricia, who made sure the weekend itself was seamless, low stress and amazing. The grounds at the Dolce are gorgeous and made for an incredibly beautiful and fun filled weekend for all of our guests. The rooms are pristine. The food at each event was more delicious than the next. There is something for everyone at the dolce. From Bocce, to Tennis, to Pool, to Basketball, to walking trails, the enormous bar and incredible staff…I can’t say enough. I just wish I could spend every weekend at the Dolce! Special thanks again to Hazel for being so incredible, professional and organized.

I can't say enough good things about Hazel and this venue. From start to finish, planning with Hazel was extremely easy and everything was perfect. I received many comments from guests on how wonderful the food was and what a beautiful venue Dolce is. All of the servers and bartenders were super nice and checked in to make sure everything was going well. Even the breakfast the next morning was great! Would not have changed a single thing. Our wedding was held this past New Years Eve and it was a night I will never forget. Dolce was amazing in everyway possible. Our event coordinator, Hazel, became a member of our family as she helped make our wedding vision a reality. The venue was perfect for hosting out of town guests, and provided us with everything we could have needed, including: signage, a projector for our slide show, delicious food, karaoke, and the chef did an INCREDIBLE job recreating a Rhode Island authentic dish for our after party. I cannot recommend this venue or it's sensational staff highly enough, they are a well oiled machine that could make any bride and groom's day run smoothly. My husband and I got married on June 21 2014 and it was a fairy tale wedding at Dolce. Leading up to the wedding Hazel, our coordinator, was awesome to work with and so much fun. She helped ease our concerns and answered all of our questions. She was with us the entire way. The big day of was executed flawlessly. The food was really amazing and our guests kept commenting on how gorgeous the venue and the grounds were. Perfect venue for a perfect day! Couldn't ask for anything more. Service was great, rooms were great, food was great, and staff was great! We arrived Friday afternoon, did our rehearsal dinner here and didn't leave until Sunday! All of our guests said it wasn't just a great place but a great wedding! The hair and makeup people came to the hotel, breakfast was delivered to my room so I wouldn't risk running into the groom to be, and the bar was the perfect spot for the after party. Secluded location....no one knows it is here...shhh. There is inside locations for the ceremony as well as lots of choices for outside! Picture spots everywhere. A Special shout out to Hazel for keeping everyone where they needed to be. The only bad part....is it is all over! But, we will be back for a visit. Dolce was the first stop on my wedding venue list and I cancelled every stop after that. From the get go I knew this was the place to have my reception. EVERYONE and EVERYTHING was amazing from the very first second we walked through the doors!!! Hazel works with the bride to make all her dreams come true! I currently reside in Las Vegas, but wanted to get married in my hometown, and even from 3,000 miles away, I knew my wedding was going to be phenomenal. Communication was never an issue, Hazel and her entire team kept my mother and myself in the loop at all times. The venue itself, spectacular! The cocktail hour was amazing and I have heard nothing but positive compliments from my guests, still to this day, about it and the dinner. Desserts, Cake, Drinks, Dancing I could continue forever about my wedding night and how unbelievable it was and honestly still is for my husband and I. We talk about it often, relive it in our memories and could not be more grateful for Hazel and the entire staff at Dolce. Dolce makes your dreams come true. :)

Dolce in Norwalk CT was the perfect location for our fall wedding.... with the beautiful lake and Fall leaves around us. We were lucky to have the ceremony outdoors and then had the cocktail hour and wedding reception inside. The planning was so easy and enjoyable, we were lucky to work with Hazel Scudder who is a talented, and professional events coordinator and took care of every detail and made the experience pleasurable. The wedding included a wedding cake from my favorite bakery in Greenwich - shuttle transportation and a big bridal suite with a connecting bedroom for our wedding night.
The wedding day went seamless my bridal party looked amazing walking down the aisle to canon D pachelbel. And my father was so proud to walk me down the aisle to my soon to be husband. We shared our vows and declared husband and wife then whisked away to do photos. When we were finished we went to our bridal suite to regroup and found a table filled with appetizers and drinks that Hazel prepared for us. Then joined our bridal party who just came out of the cocktail hour and perfectly lined up outside of the ballroom waiting to be announced. Everyone felt great walking into the ballroom with purple lights and a our song waiting for us to do our first dance. Followed by a champagne toast from our best man and maid of honor and then the starters were served a yummy of cup of New England clam chowder and caesar salad which played into our New England theme wedding. In between Hazel came by to make sure we greeted our guests then came back to the table to make sure we enjoyed our meal which was filet mignon with mushroom risotto - yum!! After a night of dancing we cut into our wedding cake and then indulged into a yummy ice cream sundae bar....at everyones table we had little chocolates, and macrons....it was the perfect wedding.
I highly recommend having your wedding at Dolce and setting up a meeting with Hazel - who is now a friend for life.
One last note my bridal party kept mentioning how beautiful the cocktail hour was walking in to a friendly staff holding wine, champagne and bellinis. The bar service was fantastic.

We recently had our wedding reception at Dolce Norwalk. We knew from the minute we walked in the door for our first visit that this was the place for us. It's a sprawling, beautiful location tucked away in a quiet setting. On the big day, everything was perfect (even the weather!!). After cocktail hour out on the patio the guests were moved into the main ballroom for dinner.
The appetizers and main courses were phenomenal, and the STAFF was unbelievable. They made sure each guest had exactly what they needed. Alison, Renee and the entire staff were by far the most amazing group of servers I've ever encountered. They really made sure that every guest had an excellent experience, and no want or need went unmet.
The wedding manager, Hazel, stayed throughout the whole wedding and made sure every detail was taken care of. She's amazing... there is absolutely NO need for a wedding planner because she's on top of everything.
Working with Dolce, the entire planning process was extremely easy which made for a VERY enjoyable day. We'll definitely have fond memories to look back on.
They really do a phenomenal job and I highly recommend Dolce to anyone who wants to have a great, stress free event!!

Dolce Norwalk is the total package and more! The grounds at Dolce speak for it's self making for amazing pictures that helped captured all of our memories from that special day. The food was all cooked to perfection and displayed beautifully. The staff at the hotel as well as the service during our reception were friendly, patient and very accommodating.
Hazel the event coordinator at Dolce is the real treasure there, she made planning a wedding in 4 months easy and stress free. She payed attention to every detail making our day absolutely flawless and she did it all with a smile on her face. Her calmness made me worry free and able to enjoy every minute of my day. From the beginning to the very end of the planning of our wedding Hazel was always sure to make herself available and be in contestant communication with us to answer any of our questions.
Many of our guest still can't stop talking about how Dolce is the "hidden gem" of Norwalk. They all raved about the food, service and accommodation. The children that attended our wedding thought the pool and the basketball courts were the best part of the whole wedding!
If my husband and I could do it all over again...
We wouldn't!
It truly was the best day of our lives and Dolce is what helped make it the most amazing day. We couldn't be happier!

Dolce Norwalk gave us the opportunity to have an almost destination wedding, conveniently located 10 minutes from our house. Dolce's grounds are beautiful and they have so much to offer.
We were able to create the wedding weekend of our dreams. The day before our wedding we had informal "lawn games," utilizing the badminton, bocce, tennis and horseshoes. It was a great way to informally visit with all of our guests before the big day.
The day of the wedding everything was so easy. We got ready in the bridal suite and had pictures down by the pond, fountain and barn before the ceremony. Our pictures came out beautiful.
The ceremony was under the wedding tree which was just beautiful.
Cocktail hour was outside on the patio followed by a reception in the ballroom. We opted for the "stations" package and our guests raved about the food.
Hazel, Dolce's events manager is amazing. She is the perfect combination of your favorite aunt and a drill instructor. Hazel ensures everything runs smoothly and on time, and she does it with love and compassion. Nothing will fall through the cracks! Hazel worked with us on all the details of our wedding and helped ensure that our vision of a cocktail party like wedding (but with lots of food) came to life.
After the reception we moved the party upstairs to "The Bar" and continued the celebration. It's a great atmosphere up there with pool tables and table shuffleboard.
Our out of town guests (and even some of the local ones)stayed on property which was so easy and we didn't have to worry about anyone driving.
Dolce was not the cheapest place we looked at, but it wasn't the most expensive either. It offers a great value with several packages to choose from. There are no hidden extras or surprises either - and even the cake is included.
Everything about the weekend at Dolce exceeded our expectations. We love Hazel, we love Dolce, and we would recommend them to anyone. If you're even toying with having your wedding here (or any function), set up an appointment with Hazel for a no pressure tour. You won't be sorry!

My husband and I were married at the Dolce Norwalk on August 2, 2014 and had a truly wonderful and memorable experience. The venue was the perfect place for an intimate affair with lots of out of town guests; everyone was able to stay on the premises and spend time with each other and enjoy the grounds, with no worries about getting people from place to place. The planning process was incredibly simple thanks to the amazing Ms. Hazel Scudder.
