My husband and I recently got married at the host and worked with wedding coordinator cari haimes. Cari really made our wedding an absolutely incredible day. Cari was super easy to work with and always there to answer any questions that we had. Anything that we wanted or needed she was there and trying to make it happen for us. The outdoor ceremony site was absolutely beautiful, we could hear the calming sound of a flowing stream and birds chirping from the wedding arch. On the day of our wedding Cari went out of her way to set up extra decorations for us so that our reception would look extra beautiful. At the end of the night she made sure to set aside and have our extra cake packaged for us since she knew how important it was to me! I felt like anything I asked for she was able to provide! The open bar was also amazing and our guests were able to get any drinks that they wanted. The hotel may be a little dated, but the staff will truly make you feel like a king and queen!
Our wedding was yesterday at the Host. Despite the hotel, yes, needing some updating, we were excited to book a local venue, where people could literally spend the entire weekend without having to drive. The outdoor ceremony site was gorgeous! Cari, the wedding coordinator was at the top of her game at all times, a consummate professional, even when I became overwhelmed. She knew her stuff and was very supportive. Cari answered questions quickly and efficiently, and triple checked everything!
The front desk crew was friendly, outgoing, and helpful. Anything we asked for, we received immediately. And the food!!! We opted for the grand reception buffet, 7 stations of varying nationality, for 2 hours, including two carving stations. There was an insane amount of incredible food. The prime rib was amazing! The only complaint I received from my guests was the chicken in the oriental buffet, as they perceived it to be chicken nuggets covered in sauce. But everything else, they just loved!! We did not allow the chicken finger options for the kids, as there were so many selections and this was a great opportunity for the kids to try a number of new things. The kids loved the Mexican buffet, especially the mini tacos. The wait staff were wonderful, seriously it was like being waited on by ninjas, you never knew they were there, but you never went without. Empty plates and glasses would just disappear without intrusion, and anything you needed would simply just be there. The ladies assigned to our sweetheart table anticipated our every need and we didn't have to ask for a thing.
There is a large playroom with 24/7 Disney movies playing, and internet with parental locks, so when the muchkins needed a break from the action, they could decompress and play.
The Host was extremely accommodating and made our wedding memorable!! A definite for any bride to be in the Lancaster area!!!
Highly recommend!!!
Everything went just as planned on the wedding day! I worked with Raquel a lot and she provided everything that was promised. The outdoor ceremony site was BEAUTIFUL and perfect. Our reception was in the tent with about 150 people. Service was good and everything was set upk beautifully and just as planned.
The waitstaff and food was wonderful at the Host for my wedding. I felt I got a great variety of food for the money. Unfortunately, it was very poorly organized. The wedding coordinator, Rochelle, did set-up the tables and accessories well, but there was no sign showing my guests were the reception was located like promised. My guests were originally charged for drinks even though I paid for open bar because they mixed us up with the other wedding. These guests never received a refund like they were promised. I also received complaints about the rooms from about 75% of my guests (I had 50 people staying there).
The Lancaster Host Resort-showroom is an absolutely beautiful setting for the more theatrical or elegant weddings. The atmosphere already lends itself to the more formal but it can be dressed up or dressed down to your own personal taste. They allowed us to bring in our props and such the day before and store it in the back rooms before set-up that night. We had the unfortunate pleasure of a conference the evening before so our set-up was not allowed until 10pm.
Our room for the girls to prepare and for the first night was one of their suites that has a living space, bedroom and two bathrooms with plenty of mirrors.
Instead of choosing a sit-down meal, we went with the International buffet and I haven't heard one single rebuke about it. This buffet allows everyone to choose what they like and not get stuck with 'chicken or beef' ;) They do also include a dessert bar but since we had my husband's brother make the cake, they allowed us to sub the dessert bar for another food option. If you have a budget-they work with you, if you have food preferences or allergies-they work with you. They allow you a taste testing with 5 people and any extra person is a little extra cost.
They have plenty of napkin color options, 2 or 3 tablecloth options and seat covers if you so wish. A flat screen TV for slide shows and/or a fork lift, for set-to-stage transport, are available for a $75 charge each.
The staff was amazing at taking care of the bridal party and bride and groom. If you so choose they will bring you your food and drinks. Just a word to the wisdom ;), if you get the buffet and say "Just get me a little bit of everything..." TRUST ME, THEY WILL!!! I'm talking 4 plates full!!! ;)
We had the unfortunate and fortunate pleasure of the Host changing their wedding coordinator in the middle of our planning. This caused some stress at first but Raquel Sanchez was really sweet and made sure that anything we needed or had questions about or however many times we needed to come in for simple measurements, she accommodated.
Our whole package included: the suite for prep and first night PLUS a one year anniversary stay with dinner and breakfast included;, wedding dinner with water, tea and coffee, excellent staff, tables with-cloths, napkins and center piece: square mirror, hurricane glass globe and white tapper candle, the showroom, the breathing room for in between the pictures and re-announcement and some other things that I'm sure I'm forgetting, but all of this for about $38/person.
Hope this helps your decision making and Happy Wedding :D
Just a few weeks ago, we had our ceremony and reception at the Lancaster Host! We worked with the wedding planner, Jenny, and she was amazing! She was so helpful, and really worked hard to make our dreams of what we wanted our wedding to be like a reality. The ceremony was beautiful, and then we went to the lobby for cocktails and appetizers. While we were having a good time, the room was transformed into the reception area. It was an amazing experience. Our ceremony and reception were in the Distelfink Ballroom. They also have a really pretty outdoor wedding venue that we used for some of our pictures. Awesome!
The Lancaster Host was a great place to have a wedding. They have beautiful facilities, and give you one person to stay in contact with throughout the entire process. They set up the room for you, and make it fairly worry free. One small perk that I also loved is that any time I went there for a taste testing, or to put my out of town bags together the night before, they provided free drinks (bottled water and even wine). Also, you get a free night stay on the night of your wedding, and on your one year anniversary. They were very polite, and I had no unexpected surprises. And if you want to add an hour (like I did, last minute), they only charge you for the price of the bar.
I loved having my special day at The Host! We used the Vistas sunroom and it was beautiful! It was hot when we first went in, but what can you do when it's mid-July and half of the walls are huge windows? Our food was amazing, the guests couldn't stop raving about it. Everyone on the staff was incredible. Very pleasant and focused on making sure everyone was comfortable. The coordinator is Jenny, she is fantastic at what she does and answers every questions, no matter how silly it may seem to you! Everyone is very professional and kind. The honeymoon suite was gorgeous, we loved the balcony overlooking the pool! If I had to do my wedding reception all over again, I would definitely still have it at The Host!
Great Service
Everything was perfect on my wedding date. The staff was great. My experience there was a 10+ Food was the best.
We became a fan of the food here during the Mother's Day Brunch they host each year AND we love all of the lighting in the Vista room. We wanted a morning wedding so this seemed like a perfect venue. The food was amazing, the coorinator, Jenny, was phenominal, and the room setup couldn't have been better. The price is comparable to some other locations, but what sold me is the quality of the food and the friendliness of the staff.
We got married on Nov 6th. Our wedding Coordinator Jenny was an amazing woman. She was there every step of the way and helped my organize and plan a gorgeous wedding. The staff at the host are pleasant and accomidating. Jenny was there whenever we needed her. She let us come in a few days before the wedding to set a few things up and for a small fee she took care of all of the decor i had purchased to make our fall wedding beautiful. The food was good for the price that we paid and the service staff the day of the wedding were pleasant and helpful.
They were very interested in serving us and meeting our needs. The event coordinator was very helpful and provided us with value-add options. I would recommend the Lancaster Host Resort for a reception or any large event.
The Host has a wedding planner who goes over every single detail with you, and is sweet and friendly and obliging. She gave me her email so she could answer my MILLION questions throughout the week and met with us as necessary. The food was melt-in-your-mouth delicious, the prices were all-inclusive and VERY reasonable! The ballroom was very elegant and the service was unbeatable. Can't say enough good things about the Host!
