r future brides, because this was one of the most stressful parts of my entire wedding process. Communication was the biggest issue. Throughout the planning process, Lindsay was very difficult to reach. There were several periods where she did not respond to calls, emails, or texts, and I genuinely thought she had ghosted me. I had to follow up multiple times to get clarity on what information she needed from me. She asked for names and a shot list only about a week before the wedding, and despite the thorough list I provided, it was clear on the day of that she had barely reviewed it. The most challenging part of the wedding day was how the timeline was handled. Lindsay had agreed to the schedule beforehand, so nothing should have been a surprise. However, she spent so long on detail shots that I was ready to put my dress on for over an hour, and I never even received a hanging dress photo. We ended up missing our first look time by over an hour, and she never communicated the delay to my fiancé, who waited alone at the location with no idea what was happening. So essentially I missed out an an entire hour of photos. Being told to “calm down” when I started to get understandably anxious was not appropriate, especially when I was trying to keep the day on track. We had wanted to get all portraits done before the ceremony so there was urgency. Throughout the rest of the day, I repeatedly had to go find her to capture moments that were already on our agreed-upon list. I nearly missed getting photos with my grandparents, and I had to pull her for cake cutting, the first dance, and other scheduled moments. It felt like I was constantly managing the photography rather than being able to enjoy the day. After the wedding, communication issues continued. We were told to expect sneak peeks within two weeks but received nothing for almost a month. She also missed our contracted full album deadline by more than a week. While I understand life happens, I paid thousands of dollars for a professional service, and repeatedly hearing personal excuses did not feel appropriate or reassuring. The photos themselves are nice, though many of them felt more washed out than the warm style I had seen in her past work. By the time we received everything, I was simply exhausted by the amount of effort it took to get there. Lindsay is a decent value for the cost, and the final images are good. She is a kind human being and she could be easy to talk to and reassuring. However, if you are even slightly detail-oriented or value clear communication and consistent follow-through, this may not be the best fit. Months later, I still feel disappointed by how difficult the experience was, and that should never be the first emotion someone feels when looking back on their wedding day.
