It all came together. Staff are amazing from checking in up to the end of the event. Their wedding coordinator Casey is very efficient and easy to work with. She recommends “Nothing Bundt Cakes” for our wedding cake and we are so happy that she did. Lots of flavor and yummy! She made sure that everything was on point given that we only had a little time for planning the whole thing. The hotel looks fabulous it was newly renovated rooms are amazing our reception is fantastic. Madison Marriott West truly made our wedding the best night of our lives. Thank You!
Amazing food, great vibe, great staff. I highly recommend. They really know what they're doing!
Our daughter had her wedding reception here and it was beautiful.
Event planner changed during the process but this transition was smooth and he offered other suggestions and help.
We were able to have some extra time for set up and take down. Food was great. They worked with us for specialty drinks. The next morning breakfast buffet was another treat for family.
Venue is beautiful - beautiful ballroom for reception and beautiful atrium with live plants and fountain for the ceremony. However, service was not great.
*Several of our guest tables at the reception had the incorrect number of seats and guests were without chairs or place settings, even though a detailed seating chart was provided to the hotel staff.
*We were provided with a locked storage room near the ballroom to be used for storing our empty centerpiece boxes and other decorating supplies, however, several items went "missing" from the room during our reception.
*When we went to check out we found that we were being charged full price for 2 nights in a suite. The wedding package includes a free suite on the night of the wedding and the upgrade to a suite was supposed to be free for the other night.
*Our final food/beverage bill had to be recalculated 3 different times because the hotel continued to make errors, and even then they managed to come up with an additional $900 in charges after the wedding that had been "overlooked" in previous bills.
*And finally, our instructions were very clear (the hotel had it in writing) that our WHOLE cake was to be cut and served - we did not want to save any of our cake to be eaten on our 1st anniversary. However, a week after the wedding the banquet coordinator called to inform us that they had saved the 8" top layer of our cake and that it was being stored in their freezer until we could come pick it up. We do not live locally so I arranged for a family member to pick it up a few days later and when she showed up to get it, she was informed that they had thrown it away. A whole 8" layer of cake (that's 16 servings) was not cut and served to our guests and then thrown away after.
I'm very disappointed in the service we received at such a beautiful venue. All planning details were clearly documented in writing by the event coordinator and it seems that those details were not communicated between members of the hotel staff.
We had our wedding reception here and absolutely loved it. Anna was amazing to work with, and the reception went very smoothly!! The ballroom was big enough for our large guest list, and it was wonderful that guests could just go upstairs without having to worry about driving after drinking. I would definitely recommend this venue!!!!
So many people said that this was the best wedding they have ever been to. The food was excellent, the wedding coordinators are so organized and have done hundreds of weddings so they walk you through everything! So attentive! I highly recommend the late night snacks they offer-a big hit with the guests. A perfect venue because it can hold guests who decide to stay over, plenty of complimentary parking, the indoor waterfall is beautiful! They have an appetizer hour in the atrium while we did pictures (helps the guests eat and drink while they wait instead of sitting around) and made for an awesome grand entrance. We also got the presidential suite which will blow your pants off. So elegant, so beautiful it was the best wedding I could have imagined. About $38 a plate for our package.
Great venue in an excellent, easy location. Event coordinator Abby is easy to work with and more than willing to help plan any aspect of the day from working with vendors to setting up the room. I gave 4 stars for value only because while there is a room food and beverage minimum required, the price ended up being over 1.5x what we were planning on.
We had our reception with the Madison Marriott West last weekend. We were engaged 2 1/2 years and booked our venue early. The hotel staff and wedding coordinators were a ton of help. The night went very smoothly. There were only a few hiccups, but they were sure to come to us directly to make sure everything was straightened out and apologized. One thing that frustrated me is that we went through about 4 wedding coordinators in the time we were working with the company. One would quit and we would have to reintroduce everything about our day to someone else. There were a lot of things that needed to be clarified so you have to be persistent. But overall, I would recommend this venue to anyone!
I got married in June 2012 and held the cocktail hour in the atrium and reception in the half ballroom.
Since the first time speaking with them the staff at the Marriott was very attentive and respectful. They made the process very easy. I was not around for the room decorating/set up but everything the day of seemed to run smoothly. The hotel itself is beautiful, the staff is friendly, and the rooms were clean and nice. They were flexible with how big our room block was, let us know who booked a room, and had early check in options available.
The food was great! They had a variety of package options for food service which was helpful.
We had a very large wedding (450) so the places in Madison were very limited. We ended up going with the conference center at Marriott (Michigan Wisconsin rooms). Everyone there was very proffesional and helped to make the room our own. With uplighting and paper lanterns from the ceiling it did not feel like a conferenc center.
Diana the wedding planner was amazing and I can not say enough about how beautiful this venue is! The food was amazing and served hot to my guests, that was very important to me!
Our guests were able to stay there. (They didn't have to drive anywhere after the dance) And the Marriott has a restaurant/bar in a open lobby area with a waterfall and big screen tv's. Guests who were more interested in talking rather than dancing loved this classy social area.;There is a high turnover of people who direct special events...can be hard to be organized.
