We had our rehearsal dinner and wedding reception at Magnolia. We got married in August 2020 during COVID so our plans were up in the air in the months leading up to the event due to the ever-changing rules. Magnolia worked everything through with us to accommodate the changes necessary to have the wedding reception we always envisioned. Originally, our rehearsal dinner was supposed to be at a different location and the reception was supposed to be in the 17th by Magnolia ballroom, but we ended up having to move the reception to the lower level of the hotel which was initially disappointing because we loved the ballroom. However, the lower level was the perfect place for a reception! And we were able to move our rehearsal dinner to the ballroom so it was still included in our weekend. We got ready for the wedding in a few of the suites which was really nice. We also loved having Harry's right there to hang out in the evenings. All of the staff and employees we worked with were amazing from the event coordinators (Kathryn and Sam) to the chef to the front desk staff. I have nothing but good things to say about our entire experience. We wouldn't have had the perfect wedding celebration without Magnolia!
This place was the most amazing setting for our wedding. They took care of so much and made the day a breeze. They went above and beyond to make sure our day was perfect. If you want a venue that will really work with you and put your fears to ease, go for Magnolia.
My husband and I just got married at the Magnolia Hotel. The day of the wedding was beautiful and flawless, in major part, because of the outside wedding planner we hired (Ali Wilhelm with AWEvents).
While the wedding day itself was wonderful, leading up to the wedding was stressful. The hotel changed wedding coordinators on us a month or two after we booked. There were some communication issues in terms of responsiveness via email, but after a conversation, this was fixed. The hotel was under construction.
Overall, I do recommend this venue as it is beautiful but my advice to you is to hire an outside wedding planner.
The Magnolia was a great place for my wedding! The food was terrific and the ballroom is a perfect venue that was beautifully decorated! The only reason why I don't give it all 5 stars is just because of few problems that happened when they merged with Starwood properties. Some of my wedding party reservations were mixed up and my cousin's was even cancelled altogether. However, all was redeemed and changed quickly!
Also, I want to give a HUGE thank you to Ashley the wedding coordinator on site. She was fantastic in trying to make transition from old coordinator (before the merger) to her new role as the coordinator smooth. She was such fun to work with and always get back to me quickly with any questions that I had. Definitely recommend working with Ashley!
My husband and I had our wedding reception at the Magnolia Hotel Ballroom and it was georgous and so much fun for our guests. The food was fantastic and the ballroom was just perfect for dancing. It was also great working with wedding planner, Danielle Siegrist. We had many of our guests say it was the best wedding they had attended. I would highly recommend the Magnolia Hotel for weddings!
Our wedding at The Magnolia Hotel was absolutely perfect!!!! Danielle is beyond amazing. She's very attentive, catches all your details, and has the "can do" attitude for anything that comes her way!!! It was such a breeze planning our day with her. My husband and I have crazy schedules, she was patient with us and arranged all the planning around our schedules. As for the Venue..it's gorgeous and the venue offers amazing vendors that can do and create any theme you want. The food...oh my the food. It was soo good. We enjoyed our dinner but best of all, all of our guests complemented all of the food. We were happy and family and friends were happy. We couldn't have picked a better place. There's so much more I want to get into...how amazing the location is. The morning after breakfast. The hotel rooms. The bridal suite with champagne. The room blocks and amazing accommodations for family and friends. We are truly happy with our wedding day at The Magnolia Hotel. Thank you Danielle!! Thank you Magnolia Hotel!
Our wedding was wonderful at the Magnolia. The venue is beautiful, and the food was amazing. Danielle does a great job of coordinating anything and goes above and beyond the call of duty. The facilities are beautiful and I could have not imagined a more elegant venue for our wedding!
LOVE this place! They made our wedding so amazing from beginning to end. Danielle is a master of wedding planning and their food and beverage department will make sure that everything is PERFECT!
My current Husband and I had our wedding at the Magnolia Hotel in Downtown Denver 05/29/15.
I had to worry about absolutely nothing. It was what we wanted and more. They worked with our budget and wasn't pressured to get anything else, as other venues suggested.
The location, venue, and food were top scale; including the professional staff.
So if you want to have the wedding of your dreams with absolutely NO STRESS call the Magnolia Hotel!
Not a day goes by that I don't think about our wedding day thanks to the Magnolia Hotel and their Wedding Planner, Danielle Siegrist. My husband and I had an excellent city wedding in the evening. The hotel accommodated our crazy schedule for the big day. The staff was very professional and hospitable. The food was absolutely amazing and we enjoyed partying the night away in the fabulous ballroom. Thanks to the planning of the Events Coordinator, there was nothing to stress about the day of the event. Everything was taken care of from decoration setup to food prep to sequencing of events. I would highly recommend this venue for a wedding ceremony/reception. We had the best day of our lives here!
We had our wedding here on New Years Eve and it was magical. The team was great at working with us and making sure that we had everything we needed. While staying in the hotel, the staff knew we were the wedding guests and made sure to offer their congratulations and be as helpful as possible. I had very specific requests and everything was delivered on. Any issues that came up were taken care of right away. The ballroom is a true gem in Denver and the separation from the actual hotel gives you a really intimate setting. I would absolutely recommend this venue to someone looking for a downtown Denver wedding. We couldn't have asked for more!
This venue has hired a bunch of overachievers; my husband and I could not have picked a better place to get married. We first fell in love with the Magnolia ballroom. The vaulted ceiling and skylights were magical, and the mural above the bar is so unique adding just the right amount of flair to the glamorous room. The downtown location is the perfect setting to allow guests to enjoy all Denver has to offer with 16th street mall so close and Denver Union Station just a few blocks down 17th street. We loved shooting our wedding pictures in/around the historic buildings located just next door to the Magnolia. The colors are vibrant and the city's energy is irresistible. We worked with their Venue Coordinator, Danielle. She is attentive, understanding, helpful, flexible and so many more adjectives I would list if I had more time. She worked with us regarding our schedule, room block, budget and decor offering valuable feedback, helpful tips and recommendations. She and the entire Magnolia staff seem to have a genuine understanding how important each couple's wedding day is and they all go out of their way to provide the best service. My family and friends continue to tell us how much fun the wedding was and how beautifully decorated the venue was (thanks to Danielle and team). The chef created three outstanding dishes and personally thanked my husband and I for having our wedding at their venue. It was amazing he went out of his way to thank us. The bartenders were friendly, complimentary and accommodating throughout the entire night. Needless to say, our wedding day was magical, easy, stress-free and most importantly... FUN! I can't thank the Magnolia team enough for all they did to make both my husband and I feel so special and proud of our wedding. I give Magnolia Hotel Denver my HIGHEST recommendation.
I had both my ceremony and reception at the Magnolia Hotel. My ceremony was inside the hotel in front of their rock waterfall. I loved this, because I did not have to worry about the weather, and the rock waterfall brought elements of the outdoors inside. My reception was across the street at the Magnolia Ballroom. Our guests loved having everything in one location and to be able to stay and play on 16th street mall. Danielle, the wedding coordinator was amazing and took care of everything with setting up decorations etc. The food at the reception was better than any wedding food I have had. Such an amazing day :)
I had my ceremony in the lounge area and my reception in the ballroom. The ceremony area is charming, with a beautiful waterfall as your background. The ballroom is elegant and has a regal feel to it. In fact, many of my guests thought the wedding was way higher priced than it was. Which brings me to my next point, it is an affordable downtown Denver location if you are looking for a city life feel! My guests had a fantastic time and were dancing all night.
I worked with Danielle initially (first couple months) and then Nikki for the rest and the day of. They were both SO great! Danielle is extremely knowledgeable and knows the answers to almost any question you have. It was Nikki's first wedding she did by herself but she did a fabulous job. She worked with me with whatever I wanted and did so much for me on the day of. My ceremony and reception looked EXACTLY like how I pictured. Nikki did everything perfectly. I had no stresses and felt like everything was taken care of. I highly recommend this venue! P.S. The food is delicious as well!
The event coordinator was helpful in coordinating our event to help it run smoothly. She can be difficult to communicate with in that she can take awhile to respond. However, she always responds with an appropriate answer. The Magnolia Hotel was nice and updated considering how old it actually is and how small the rooms are. As the bride, I ended up having to switch to 3 different rooms (night before, night of, and night after). Unfortunately, they couldn't keep our room the same when we requested another night. The ballroom was great for our reception!
Overall, we were very pleased with the Magnolia! Their packages offered everything we wanted within our budget, and they did an excellent job executing the day! My only complaint was that a few months before my wedding, I wasn't getting responses from the coordinator, and when I called finally, they said she had left. When I finally got in touch with her replacement, she did a wonderful job and took care of everything, but it would have been nice for her to reach out to me. Otherwise, very pleased- she did a great job the day of catering to me and the grooms wishes, while staying in the background. Would certainly recommend this hotel!
I recently got married and had my reception at The Magnolia Hotel in the lounge area. The space was fun and different and had more of a "bar-like" atmosphere which is was we wanted. We really didn't want just a plain, square ballroom so this was perfect. There is a nice water feature that adds additional ambiance to an already very nice space (we did very little decoration other than centerpieces!). The food was really good and the planning staff easy to work with and responsive. There were a few small things that didn't go exactly as planned which is why this is a 4 and not a 5. They said they saved some of the passed hor d'orves for us, but we never got them (I know they ran out too, so if we weren't going to get them I would rather my guests got them). I requested a special gluten-free vegan meal for one of my guests and she was served one of the regular entrees (to their credit, it was a last RSVP and I made the request a week before the wedding, and they did eventually bring out the specific meal when I asked about it). We requested a table for the photo booth so the props could be set up and there wasn't one, but we made do. Our gifts were supposed to be brought up to our room at the end of the reception and no one did that, though when we asked, they did have someone collect everything and bring it up, plus a complimentary bottle of champagne. It was really hot and humid in the space (probably because of the water feature - and all the dancing). I really liked having my reception here and would definitely recommend The Magnolia Hotel. Good value for what you good and great customer service and food!
I would recommend the Magnolia Hotel for a wedding any day!
The location is absolutely beautiful and the staff is more than accommodating and very quick to respond to emails, phone calls, etc.
They were very helpful throughout the entire planning process.
We had such a wonderful experience with Kelsey at the Magnolia Hotel that I felt compelled to write a helpful review for other brides! I literally never had to stress throughout the planning as she would always quickly reply to my emails, worked with our budget ( we did not think we would be able to afford it), and was there on our wedding day to make sure all the details fell into place. Anytime I had a question the day of, Kelsey was behind our shoulder helping us cut the cake, getting us apps or drinks, set up all of our decor perfectly, and had all of our setup stuff brought to a breakfast room the next day and gifts brought to our fireplace suite (included in the wedding package). The hotel has lots of freebies including happy hour/cookie hour that was great to have mini reunions the whole weekend. I got lots of compliments from my guests on the hotel and the food! Thanks for making our wedding perfect Kelsey!
There was a mishap between housekeep and my mother's under garmets and shoes, but besides that the hotel was wonderful.
We enjoyed the hotel itself as well as the location!! They also had really good cookies...
We stayed here the entire weekend of our wedding. As did most of our out of town guests. They worked with us on rates, provided great service, and even strawberries & champagne on our wedding night! Love this hotel!!
We booked the Magnolia for our ceremony and reception, and held both in the lounge because of the small size of our event (around 50 guests total). Initially, I had some sticker shock, but for everything we got it was an amazing value!
The lounge is what won me over, I fell in love with the idea of getting married in front of the gorgeous water feature. We were operating on a budget, so the beautiful space was a blessing because I did not have to come up with a lot of extra decor or additional lighting. At no point did we feel pressured to add on or upgrade any services we didn't want. Everything we needed was included in the package price (linens, place settings, etc.), which meant I didn't have to keep track of a million different vendors.
For the reception, we opted for one of the plated dinner options. The food was delicious, and our servers were exceptional. The tasting was a treat, it seems like such a minor detail but it felt very special! That's when I really got that the Magnolia wanted us to feel welcome and respected, and we weren't just Wedding #842.
The best part was our event coordinator, Jessica - I could not have done it without her! She helped me stay organized and on schedule for the entire planning period, and the day of she worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make sure everything went smoothly. I always felt like I had her full attention, and every one of my requests was honored (or, I was given a reasonable explanation as to why something was not possible.) I was really able to let go of the details and focus on myself the day of the wedding, because I felt confident everything was under control.
Additionally, every member of the staff made us feel like royalty the entire time, from our first meeting with Jessica all the way up until we checked out the morning after the wedding. Our guests are still telling us what a great time they had!
Our reception was at the Ballroom at the Magnolia. It was perfect! The food was great, service was amazing and all of our guests had a great time.
Sidney was amazing and I couldn't have planned our wedding without him!
I highly recommend the Magnolia for great service, atmosphere!
Since I am a wedding planner, my wedding was even that more stressful, but Sydney at the Magnolia made sure my wedding was perfect, and he executed everything so smoothly and seamlessly!
My husband and I stayed at The Magnolia when we got engaged and it couldn't have been a better experience. We had a gorgeous suite, and after we got engaged, there was champagne and chocolate covered strawberries waiting for us in the room, with a note of congratulations from the hotel. Based on this experience, we decided to book our wedding night there as well.
NOT at all the same! We paid extra for a deluxe suite, which wasn't all that different from the fireplace suite we had had on our engagement - only that it cost well over $100 more. There was no recognition of our wedding at all.
The room was nice, but nothing special and definitely not worth the money we paid.
The worst part was, we were woken up at 8 am by maid service wanting to service our room. It was our wedding night!! We were appalled.
We left feedback for the hotel, and they did refund us some of our money and offered to upgrade our next stay - however, we never got an email confirmation of this, so I don't know if it would be honored. I was very disappointed in the Magnolia.
I wouldn't haver changed a thing, Sidney was amazing and he assisted my and my hud with everything. They thought of so many things, he even checked on all my vendors the week of to plan accordingly and give them instructions. We were so grateful to have had it at this location. It was also great for all the guests to take their 'drive home' in an elevator. No driving after a few cocktails. :)
We loved having our wedding at the Magnolia and our guests just can't stop talking about! We did have to change coordinators in the middle, but Sidney and Jessica were absolutely amazing. I really didnt have to worry about anything the day of the wedding, it was wondetful just to enjoy the day, they handled everything. The ballroom was beautiful but you have to watch your drinks though, if your
are not sitting at your table they tend to pick everything. They also served the top tier of our cake because we did request it, so make sure you ask. The food was great and they make you feel like royalty at the tasting. One bonus about this venue is being able to go right upstairs to your room after the reception, the hotel had champagne and strawberries waiting for us which was a great touch. I would highly recommend this venue to anyone.
Besides having to change my event planner halfway through, everyone was exceptionally nice and very helpful. They also respected my budget and I didn't have any "extra charge" surprises after the wedding. The ballroom is a beautiful place for a wedding!
The location/venue was great. The service was disappointing because some of our requests were not delivered on.
The Magnolia is one of my favorite hotels in the Denver area and I was so happy they let me use it for my wedding guests, even though I did not get married there. My guests enjoyed the location and the amenities of the hotel, including the free breakfast and the in-house Starbucks. Their valet and bell staff were super helpful with the many rounds of loading and unloading wedding stuff ~ we were sure to tip them well. Jason, the staff in charge of booking groups of rooms, was always helpful and easy to work with.
The Magnolia was a great place for our guests to stay. Its a beautiful and comfortable hotel in a fun part of town. The staff is great to work with when reserving rooms for a wedding. The only negative is that parking is very expensive, $26 to park overnight. We found that the rate they gave us more than made up for this little extra, however. Also, the included breakfast is actually a breakfast, which also saves your guests money.
The Magnolia was the perfect location for our wedding. The hotel was wonderful and offered a lot of amentities that made our geusts feel at home for the weekend. The food at the reception was great and the ballroom is beautiful. The service at the Magnolia was stand-out. Sydney Stoper, the coordinator, at the hotel is fabulous. I did not have to worry about anything the day of the wedding because I knew with him in charge of set-up that everything would be perfect. I cannot express my gratitude torward the Magnolia and everything their staff did to make my day perfect!
The Magnolia hotel in downtown Denver is the perfect place for a wedding reception. Beautiful downstairs with fountain, pool table, bar. Excellent food. We've gotten so many compliments on the appetizers. Flexibility in meal, we served the the salad, but had dinner buffet style because I did not want to keep track of food orders, hotel was very flexible. Excellent room pricing on block of rooms, with no commitment and they even honored the lower prices when they rolled out an Easter Special. In summary the great things include: location, food, Sidney (wedding planner), flexibility on food options and to stay within the budget, great room pricing. Negatives include: valet was only so-so and were a bit aggravating on wedding day missing bags in the car that needed to come up, missing them a second time when sent back to look. Also the flower vases went missing from our honeymoon suite and were never found, so I was out the replacement costs for 5 vases, which in the end was only $18. If I had it to do all over again, I would most definitely have my wedding reception here. Check them out, you will not be disappointed.
We used The Magnolia Hotel Denver for all of our guest accommodations and our rehearsal dinner. They were amazing! All of our guests raved about their stay. Our rehearsal dinner was great too! We did action stations and carving stations and the staff customized a menu for our event! The service was great and the food was impeccable!
This review is for the Magnolia Hotel in Houston.
I would give 5 stars for the venue. Beautiful place. They have a ballroom, but we didn't use it. We got married in a church, used the third floor for the cocktail hour and then guests came down to the second floor for the reception. I loved and I'm sure all the guests appreciated that there was an actual bar and not a bar setup there. I don't think anyone had to wait for drinks. We had a 10 person band and the dance floor they provided, plus 210 guests all fit on the 2nd floor. We got reduced rates for our guests and they gave us a free night's stay at the hotel. Food was great (one of the things we really looked for in a venue) and reasonably priced for wedding food.
As for the service, I'd give 3 stars because of the catering manager. Not sure who the catering manager is now, but at the time we were planning our wedding, her name was Claudia and she made things more difficult than they had to be---sooo glad we had a wedding coordinator to deal with that. She was really unorganized and would say one thing, but it would be written differently in our contract. We had to revise SEVERAL times to finally get in writing what she agreed to. They were very accommodating though so I'll give them that! Above all, I'm very happy we went with the Magnolia Hotel for our wedding reception.
We had a wedding of about 120 people in the Magnolia ball room. It was perfect. The food was amazing - we did a sit down dinner with apetizers before hand in a beautiful room across the street in the hotel. Most of my guests stayed in the Magnolia Hotel too and everyone was very pleased with the rooms and the service. The only knock that they get is for organization. We had the wrong rooms booked for the wedding party and there were some issues with billing. But that could have been partially a mis-communication on our part. Regardless the venue was beautiful and they worked hard to make it a perfect day.
We are usually not ones to post bad reviews because we understand that things can go wrong. However, we had soooooo many things go wrong with the planning of our reception and the reception itself that we feel the need to warn others (when you consider how meaningful and expensive a wedding is). Here’s a summary of the problems: We had a gift stolen during the reception (they checked the security tapes and found this out). They did give us a credit for the cost of the gift but our catering person never called us to apologize. They charged us for $495 worth of dessert that was never served (they will be paying us back). Our catering manager made numerous mistakes while planning the wedding and we kept having to double check and correct her work--she sent us an estimate with the wrong food choices, her final count for meals was wrong, and she was going to charge the wrong credit card. Even when we would correct her work, she sometimes failed to make the proper changes. We ended up purposefully not giving her our slideshow DVD that we wanted played during dinner because she kept saying (verbally and on the Event Planning Form) that it was to played during the cocktail reception. The room was not set-up as we had discussed and requested—they left fluorescent tube lights on when they said they would not be on, they did not have tablecloths on tables in the reception room, they did not set up seating in the reception room as requested, and they ACTUALLY CHANGED THE CONFIGURATION OF THE HEAD TABLE WITHOUT ASKING US (and it made it so we had to sit across from each other instead of next to each other—it’s hard to explain because it was the weirdest setup I’ve ever seen.). We were willing to excuse some of these things but the “straw that broke the camel’s back” was when we found out a gift was stolen and they didn’t serve the dessert we paid for. We sent a letter to the Director of Catering to complain and he was very responsive and apologetic. He offered to put us up in the hotel for a special event if we wanted. Still, if we had to do it over again, we would have chosen a different venue. There are plenty of other venues in Denver.
We had our reception at The Magnolia Hotel in The Club, which is on the lower level. It was a beautiful, fun venue. The site has a pool table and lots of areas for people to lounge. We had food stations and passed appetizers instead of a sit down dinner and we received rave reviews from our guests. They especially loved the macaroni bar and the Mediterranean tapas. The catering manager was great to work with and everything went really smooth. The only complaint is that it was REALLY hot and I do not think the A/C was working properly. But, it was the hottest day of the year!
We happened open this hotel and were so thrilled with our choice. We were given a large corner suite complete with a living area, fireplace, chocolate covered strawberries, champagne, and incredibly soft robes we got to keep! The only downfall was we didn't get to enjoy our room too long because we got in so late, but even at the late hour we received incredible service and they whisked our bags upstairs while we enjoyed a nighcap in their lounge. And on top of everything, we really felt like we got more than we paid for. Other hotels were the same or more expensive, but didn't even offer wedding packages or didn't include much with their packages. We would totally recommend this hotel to anyone.
