Malibu West Beach Club

If you're looking for an amazing venue with gorgeous views of the Pacific Ocean, Malibu West Beach Club should be top of your list. We held our wedding there and could not have been happier with the decision. Knowing a majority of our guests would be coming from out of town we wanted to give them something special to remember and MWBC certainly delivered. Working with them was quite easy as they were responsive with their communications and already had some in-house decor that was available to rent. While we opted for some additional lights and other decor, we went minimalistic to emphasize the natural beauty of the venue and backdrop. There was one miscommunication on when we wanted our rental time to begin which cost us a few extra dollars, however our total headcount was below the contracted limit which MWBC graciously provided us with a refund for. Having semi-private access to the beach also made for a fun photo shoot with the bridal party and some epic shots at sunset. We are so happy we chose MWBC as our wedding venue and would highly recommend it to any couple looking for an amazing place with amazing views!

I can't say enough good things about this venue. When we were planning our wedding last year, we came across this site while browsing for venues. We made an appointment to check the venue out and let me tell you, the pictures do not do this place justice. If you want a beautiful setting for your wedding, don't hesitate and check this place out. The event manager at the facility was so helpful when we visited. She gave us this amazing list of recommended vendors. On top of that since we were a little flexible on what specific Saturday in October we wanted, she even looked up the tide schedule and where the moon would be at for our wedding day so we could get the best pictures at low tide. I used most of their recommended vendors and I was extremely happy with how the wedding day came out. All of our guests fell in love with the venue as well and kept asking us how we found it.

We got married at Malibu West in late August 2018. The weather was perfect - the venue was perfect - the staff were perfect. The bridal suite is amazing - makes everything seamless. Our guests LOVED the patio at night. Wonderful venue!

As soon as my husband and I set foot inside, we knew we'd found our perfect venue. We were looking for a venue that would allow outside vendors, as well as a location near the ocean, so Malibu West was simply perfect for our needs. Not to mention, it doesn't need too much décor - it's already gorgeous on its own, and you can't beat the ocean view. It photographs very beautifully, too. Jacqui was a pleasure to work with from start to finish. Thanks Malibu West Beach Club, for providing the perfect location and backdrop for our special day.

We used Malibu West as the reception venue for our wedding (ceremony was elsewhere) and overall we really loved it. The venue is very naturally beautiful and you don't need to do much to make it look amazing for the big day, which we really appreciated. Jaqui and her team really know what they are doing, and have everything from recommended table layouts based on your wedding size to a long list of preferred vendors and decor that you can rent directly from them if need be. I got ready in the morning in the attached bridal suite with my bridesmaids and mother, and for the 8 of us, plus photographer and hair/makeup artists, the space was perfect. I think it was really great we were able to take advantage of the space, and our day-of coordinator was able to set up the venue for the reception during that time. Logistically, it worked perfectly and Jacqui was always very responsive to our questions. For downsides, it was a bit of a pain that parking is so limited on-site and there aren't many options beyond hiring a valet company, but luckily the valet company Malibu West works with have reasonable rates and were very courteous. We were able to select Malibu West because a discount (that sadly no longer exists) and some local connections lowered the price significantly, bringing it into our budget range. Personally, I think the regular $7500-$8500 price tag to reserve the space on a Saturday for 12 hours and use their tables and chairs seems a bit steep. But hey, it's Malibu, and it's the wedding industry. I think I'm still just experiencing some sticker shock. Overall, it was still worth it for us, and we were VERY pleased with our experience. If you're able to fit the normal price to reserve the space into your budget, DO IT! You will NOT be disappointed.

My wife and I had the pleasure of getting married at Malibu West Beach Club (MWBC) on Saturday, January 6th. We had around 145 guests and it was the perfect venue! If you're finding this as you're planning your wedding, the most important thing I appreciated from all our vendors during the planning process was this: clear and prompt communication. It keeps things stress-free and it helps ensure that nothing gets lost between the cracks. I always appreciated that Jacqui, the events manager, would respond to emails only hours after I'd sent them off. Seriously, one time I wrote her an email early in the morning here in New York, and she responded right away! I was like, "How are you up so early?!" Another thing I loved about MWBC was that we weren't locked in to using one specific vendor. They give you a list of people they've worked with and approve, but you're free to bring your own team in. This helped us save on costs (other venues we were looking at locked us into some $20,000 on catering!) Not only that, but this truly helps you make your event your own! Having that flexibility really made us feel like the event was our own, and that we weren't forced into working with any vendor we weren't 100% with. The day of our wedding, we were also blessed with Christine, who I'd be remiss in not mentioning. Christine served as our site rep for the day, but she was also the decor manager we'd been working with for months. She was professional, as well as the most positive and kind person we'd ever dealt with in our whole wedding planning process. For our wedding, chose to hang up bistro lights and use the arch provided by MWBC. Take note that you can't choose the bistro lights AND the lanterns at the same time... but I think we made the right call in choosing the beautiful bistro lights! Something I appreciated that I didn't think of when picking the venue: During the reception, the deck also makes for a nice place where guests can cool down away from the dance floor, have a drink, and just take in the sounds of the ocean! If you're looking for a beautiful beach wedding, look no further than MWBC. I don't think the pictures or a FaceTime tour do it justice--when we walked in to drop off items for the wedding, I was in awe of how much more spacious it looked... and to see the beach from the deck is a sight to behold. Thanks, Malibu West, for making our special day as awesome as it could be!!

The space was beyond beautiful and the team at MWBC was always so pleasant and flexible. We were so happy with how our wedding turned out and several guests were blown away by this venue.

I cannot say enough good things about Malibu West! I recently had my wedding here and it was perfect if you want a beach wedding but not on the actual sand. The deck overlooking the ocean made for a BEAUTIFUL backdrop and you really only need minimal decor because of how gorgeous the room is with all of the white draping, string lights and chandeliers. Most of my guests were from out of town, so if you have a destination wedding this place and the stunning ocean views will WOW your guests! The pictures at sunset on the beach are beautiful. I had about 60 guests and fit the space perfectly- I wouldn't recommend a wedding with over 100 guests booking MWBC just because it is a smaller, intimate space. With this venue, you have to hire all of your own vendors, and MWBC had a great selection of preferred vendors - I ended up using Truly Yours for catering and Kreative Hands as my florist. The only downside is that there is no parking so we ended up getting a shuttle service to transport guest to/from a hotel in Calabasas. Jacqui was super quick to answers all my emails throughout the year leading up and Christine set up all my decor on the day of beautifully. Such a nice team to work with! I used the 'bridal suite' at the venue to get ready on the day of, and it worked out perfectly. Look no further if you want a perfect SoCal beach wedding!

My daughter was married at Malibu West Beach Club this past weekend. There aren't enough words to describe how perfect everything was. This site was highly recommended to my daughter from a work friend so we visited well over a year ago and knew immediately that this was the place. Jacqui greeted us, gave us a tour and proceeded to provide us with all of the details regarding having a wedding at this venue. Not only does she work for the venue, her own daughter was married there. We were overwhelmed with information as we were just starting on our planning and hadn't even thought of most of the things Jacqui was describing. We were so grateful for all of the insight as we were pretty clueless. The venue itself is so beautiful. The guests that attended the wedding couldn't say enough about the great location and beautiful scenery. The site reps that are on location during the event were so kind and helpful. They didn't get in our way at all but always seemed to be right there when we needed them. We used many of the preferred vendors and I would suggest them as well. It was so nice to have vendors that needed little to no direction from me. They knew more about what needed to be done that I did. This venue is not a full service venue which saved us a lot of money and let us make it very personal for our daughter. She couldn't have been more happy, not only marrying her best friend but having the wedding that she dreamed of with all of the personal touches. I would highly recommend this venue to anyone, especially to those who want to be really hands on with the details.

Malibu west beach club was truly an amazing venue. We loved it from the moment we first saw it and didn't even bother checking out other venues after we found it. It's beachy and elegant, Jacquie is great. All of guests keep raving about how beautiful it was. It's great because you have choices about what vendors you want to use and the pricing is reasonable! Highly recommend!!!

Malibu West Beach Club is the perfect place for a beautiful wedding! From the moment we stepped into MWBC we knew that was where we were going to say I DO! Jacqui was just amazing to work with, from start to finish! Wow, her response time was always super fast, and I appreciate your flexibility (night shift nurse here) Everything is brought in by you, and you get a list of amazing vendors that they recommend, and all of ours that Jacqui recommend were just amazing! The views are incredible, we had a dolphin spotted while we were getting ready and a few sea lions too! I couldn't believe what a magical day we had! The moon was full and bright out on the balcony, and the weather was perfect! It was truly a Malibu fairy tail! The space is so beautifully decorated already you don't have to add much, but whatever needs you may have, Christine in the decor department has got you covered! She did our arch and our sand boxes for the table cards, and everything was beautiful. Can't say enough how special our day was, just perfection! Perfect location! Could not get enough compliments about how beautiful everything was! The lights were amazing and the balcony was a popular spot to hang out during the reception with gorgeous lights and the waves crashing below. They were so helpful and easy to work with. And really gave us a great place to get married!

Malibu West Beach Club is a beautiful venue & we couldn’t imagine our wedding anywhere else. The view is amazing. The interior is gorgeous. It is absolutely the most wonderful venue. Jacqui is wonderful, helpful & kind. We would highly recommend this venue to any couple.

We started planning our wedding about 3 months out, and looked at a number of venues all along the Southern California coastline--from Santa Barbara down to San Diego. We wanted something on or near the water, but didn't want to be kicking around sand all night. While there were a number of beautiful venues, many of them tried too hard to make their venue wedding appropriate, though they may have been better suited to host other types of events. Others were very pricey, and had you feel limited with the use of the space, and the time you were allowed to be there. My husband and I love the 12 hour rental window that Malibu West offers, and the flexibility to select our own vendors. They provide you with a list of preferred vendors, but you can use your own...we ended up about 50/50. I'd recommend using one of their preferred caterers, as they are familiar with the unique logistics of the space, and make arrangement of tables, bartender, load in/load out much easier. We selected Sabrina to be our wedding coordinator, as she does a lot of MWBC's weddings, is very familiar with all the vendors, and makes the overall flow much smoother since everyone is used to working with each other. Jaqui was very helpful throughout the booking process, and had answers to all of our questions. The entire staff there is great, and they have everything run like a well oiled machine. I'd certainly recommend Malibu West Beach Club as a wedding venue. All of our guests loved it!

Malibu West Beach Club is stunning, and my reception was absolutely beautiful. I am happy that I chose this venue, but wanted to give a fair review about it. There was a mouse found in the kitchen area just before my party started. The attending manager left it up to my wedding party to get the mouse out, stating that once it was in the kitchen it probably wouldn't come out. We assume the mouse lives there and this was not a surprise when he showed up. They also didn't clean the floor before the event. It is a beachfront location, but the ground was extremely dirty. Those setting up the reception had black feet from walking on it. All of our tablecloths were really dirty on the bottom and my dress needed to be cleaned twice to return it to a white color. There was an event two days before mine and it must not have been cleaned afterwords. The final negative that stood out was the difficulty in arranging meetings with Jaqui, the event coordinator. She is very kind and friendly in person, but rescheduled on us several times and is sometimes unresponsive via email. It made planning an out of state wedding more difficult. All of that being said, I am happy with how my event turned out and would choose Malibu West Beach Club again, I would just be really firm with requests and expectations beforehand.

This venue is very special and I cannot recommend it more highly! Choosing this place was one of the best decisions we made while planning our wedding, and everyone raved about how beautiful it was. It does take a bit more work than some of the venues that offer full food/beverage/etc packages, since you have to bring in your own vendors--but if you're up for that, then it's SO worth it. They have a preferred vendor list which is very helpful. Shout-out to DJ's California Catering and Burlap & Rose (planning/florals) for being GREAT. Jacqui at MWBC was always super quick to respond, and the decor director Christine was very sweet and helpful as well. The venue itself doesn't require much decoration because it's very pretty on its own, so that is a huge plus. Also, the newly renovated bridal suite is very cute and nice to get ready in! Another thing I loved about this place is that you get to take photos on the beach during cocktail hour. Guests seemed to enjoy that because they get to watch you from a distance, which is kind of a fun thing (and you can do the photos relatively quickly because the beach is right there - it doesn't require you to disappear for 2 hours to get your bridal party photos.) If you have a lot of out-of-town guests, one thing to keep in mind is that Malibu is not great for hotels. We decided to put up guests at The Anza Hotel in Calabasas and hired a bus to shuttle guests to and from the venue, which worked out well for our group. Also, we had 95 guests, which felt like a great size for the venue (give or take 30 people would be fine, after that it would be crowded). Definitely recommend this place to people getting married in LA! Thanks to the MWBC team for making planning easy.

Malibu West Beach Club is the perfect California beach venue. All of our guests, whether from out-of-town or from California, were in awe of our venue choice. The deck and the beach make a beautiful ceremony backdrop, and the indoor reception area is decorated with gorgeous white draperies and chandeliers that make any wedding color palette pop. The staff is very helpful and they have great in-house decor options. They provide a list of preferred vendors, and since we mostly stuck to the list, all of our vendors were very familiar with working at the beach club and with each other. I highly recommend using Burlap and Rose coordination, Truly Yours catering and Hollywood DJ for this venue. Our October wedding at MWBC was more perfect than I imagined. Everything was seamless and beautiful, and it was a very perfect day.

First off, the venue and view were beautiful. MWBC sits on top of a small private beach area overlooking the Pacific Ocean. We loved the location and had a memorable wedding.The venue itself was small (about 150 guests max), but very pretty. Jacqui was very helpful throughout the process and answered all our questions very quickly. A few negatives of the venue: it is already pretty expensive, and yet it only allows 12 hours of access. Within the 12 hour span, it caused us to feel very rushed. We could have paid for more hours, but for the cost of the venue, a few extra hours seems more fair. On top of that, we supposedly went over our allotted time (which we thought we had changed by indicating the start time on a form we were supposed to submit) by 15 minutes and they charged us an $18 overage fee. A bit petty in our opinion considering the venue's cost. Also, choosing this venue means you either A) require guests to fend for themselves finding parking on a busy street by the beach or B) hire their private valet service, which is also very expensive. Also, a factor we enjoyed about MWBC is that we can select our own caterer, however the venue limits choice of caterers. If you select a caterer outside of their approved list, they charge a $500 fee.

We booked our wedding ceremony and reception at the Malibu West Beach Club, and it was a dream come true! My husband and I searched for a venue in the Los Angeles area, and we knew immediately from our first visit that we had found what we were looking for. The view of the ocean is breathtaking and we couldn't have asked for a more romantic ceremony overlooking the ocean. We booked our wedding date more than a year in advance, and were very happy that we did as the beach club books very fast. Jacqui was so easy to work with and very responsive to all of our questions. She also assisted us with preferred vendors and went above and beyond in helping with our wedding details. The size of the venue was perfect for the amount of guests we had (100), and we loved that we were able to dance and interact with all of our guests in a comfortable environment. Mehta and Andrea were our site representatives on the day of our wedding, and they were both very helpful and professional to us and our guests. We highly recommend the Malibu West Beach Club for weddings, or just a venue location near the Pacific...it was a fantastic experience and we enjoyed everything about our wedding day!

“When you fall in love, sometimes you just know.” These were some of the first words Jacqui, Malibu West’s events director, said to us as we entered the building where we got married. It was true of our relationship, and very true about our choice in our venue. The moment we walked through the door we were in love. Let me paint a picture the best that I can, Malibu West Beach Club is a hidden little secret. Once you turn the corner on Broad Beach you see this beautiful intimate beach house. As you walk up the stairs a gorgeous view of your reception area opens up to a breathtaking balcony. The balcony overlooks the wonderful shore of the Malibu shore. The venue is so beautiful, we hardly felt the need to decorate. Who wants to compete with the fantastic view of the ocean, the waves, the sand? Another feature my wife adored was the bridal room. My bride and her bridesmaids arrived around noon and retreated into the room. There they got ready, stored items, drank mimosas, and relaxed before the ceremony. It was also very helpful to have a place for my wife and I to hide from guest time to time during the reception. The photos are a dream come true. After the ceremony we came down and took “the shot” (the classic MWBC balcony photo showing the bridal party and the entirety of your wedding guests). We could not have selected a better place to have a wedding photoshoot. The photos on the beach, near the water, the ones indoors and outside on the front patio. It was nothing short of magical. As for service, not one of my vendors had responded to my emails faster than Jacqui. If you want someone attentive, caring, and professional, you come here. The representatives were very helpful on the day of our wedding as well. The contract and packet include everything you need to know about the venue and also includes a VERY helpful approved vendors list. We used a lot of her recommendations and we did not regret it. Overall, this is where we chose to celebrate our love and announce to our friends and family that this is where we start our forever. I wouldn’t have started it anywhere else.

Thank you Malibu West for the most beautiful wedding that I could ever have imagined. Every aspect of this venue helped to create my dream wedding. The airy open feel, beautiful draping lights and chandeliers, and breathtaking deck overlooking the water were just a few of the details we fell in love with. Jacqui was so helpful from our initial meeting up until the day of our wedding. The preferred vendor list was great as well, we used many off the recommendations. Our DJ Alan with Music To Go Entertainment was amazing and would definitely recommend him. They also helped to setup our photo booth which was a crowd pleaser. We went with recommended caterer Truly Yours, which offered delicious, affordable food and many other services such as linens, our bartender, etc. We cannot say enough positive things about Truly Yours and would recommend them in a heartbeat. We also used CFS Design for our beautiful birch arch, pillar candles, paper lanterns and seat covers/pillows. These details brought everything together and I would recommend working with Carrie with CFS Design! Finally, our wedding coordinator Michelle from the recommended list was more than we could have hoped for. She truly was the backbone of our wedding and helped to make things run smoothly. For anyone that isn't sure they need a day of coordinator, Michelle helped to prove that having one is an absolute asset. Thank you Malibu West for helping us to create the best day of our lives!

Malibu West Beach Club is a fantastic venue for a wedding, especially if you're looking for a beachy, romantic vibe! It's right on Zuma Beach, with a gorgeous patio overlooking the beach for the ceremony and cocktail hour. The venue is smaller and more intimate, but holds a lot of people comfortably. Jacqui makes it easy for you to bring in all of your own vendors from a preferred list, and you get to have your own bar, without paying per person and extra for top shelf or signature cocktails (like hotels try to charge!). Our wedding went perfectly; it was a perfect 75 degree summer day in August on the beach. Everyone raved about the beach, the view, the venue, the party - which was rocking until midnight!!! Best venue to have a beachy wedding - highly recommended and a GREAT value for the location, when most other hotels and venues charge far more to hold a wedding on the beach in LA or San Diego.

We picked the Malibu West Beach Club for our wedding because from the minute we walked in for our tour we could tell that they professionalism and quality of the events manager Jacqui would make our wedding planning smooth and easy. Their list of vendors was incredibly helpful, Jacqui was quick to respond to emails, and the day of coordinators provided for the evens were both very helpful to make sure everything went well. Not to mention the location is absolutely gorgeous. We loved the whole experience and were so happy we chose Malibu West!

spelled groom's name wrong on welcome sign. people were on private beach when the beach was supposed to be "closed to the public". small venue, but enough for the small size of our wedding. nice ocean view. we paid extra to have our tables & chairs set up before we arrived to decorate, but they were Not set up.

We loved working with MWBC. However, there is no guest parking, and one of our closest friends' cars was vandalized and important things were stolen. One of MWBC members took one of the spots contracted to us, so we were down one. Also, we were told the beach would be empty, but there were groups of people hanging out on the beach. One of the staff looked homeless, which was a little weird to us. Other than that, it was a beautiful venue, and we would totally encourage anyone to have their wedding there. They really worked with us so we could customize and have the vendors we wanted. We were SO thankful for that! In the end, our wedding was a fairytale dream come true, with the most angelic setting.

The club was the perfect place to have our wedding. We were overlooking the ocean without making all of our guests sit in the sand, And the bridal party were able to go down to the beach and take pictures and use the life guard tower for some amazing sunset shots. Our guest total was around 100 people, to venue held everyone comfortably. The club even allowed our dog to come, he was an important part of our wedding given that he was our ring bearer.

Marilyn and her staff were wonderful to work with. On the day of the wedding they went above and beyond to help out. The venue is STUNNING! Gorgeous ocean view, reasonable price, MALIBU, you can bring in your own alcohol... the list goes on. This venue was one of the best decisions i made during wedding planning. I would recommend this venue to anyone wanting to have a wedding in Malibu or with an ocean view.

The only negative thing is there are no hotels near the venue, so we had to have our guests shuttled from Westlake Village. Overall, all of our guests loved it and had a wonderful time! We highly recommend MWBC for a beautiful beach wedding!

pro: beautiful view, can bring outside bartenders and caterers, great price for what you get, FULLY customizable, no tacky decor to work around, cons: the tar from the beach was on my feet and his shoes (from photos) we got charged for carpet cleaning as a result, says max of 150 but that really isn't accurate for a wedding.. we had people hidden around a wall and they couldnt see our slideshow, parking (pretty much requires a valet) overall would definitly recommend this place for any event.. keep it close to 120 people and you'll be ok, helen and carrie (coordinator and designer) work with the venue a lot and are PHENOMENAL! use them!

The beach club was a beautiful and intimate venue for my ceremony and reception. I had about 90 guests and it was the perfect size. Many guests complimented on the venue. The club was very helpful throughout the planning process.

It was on a private beach with a beautiful view. It was very open with lots of windows and light. It also had a great deck were we had the ceremony and later cocktails.;Have a plan B in case it rained. It rained the day before and we thought it might rain the day of and we weren't sure where we would hold the ceremony.

It is an intimate setting right on the beach! The deck allows for a beachside wedding without having to be on the SAND! GREAT SPACE!
