Margo West Bridal Alterations

Margo and her staff are friendly and huggers (if you're a hugger, too). My dress, being a corset-back, didn't need much alterations, but what was needed was done well. I also used MW for my bustle. My bustle came undone shortly after our first dance. The loops were loose, according to my MOH, and she ended up using safety pins to hold my dress in place. I don't know if it was simply that the bottom of my dress was tulle and so it was harder to secure the bustle loops when sewing or if it just wasn't well-done, but that was added stress during the reception.

Margo and her staff are excellent. The took the time to answer all my questions, did a magnificent job and made me feel at ease. Love them!

I came to Margo at the last minute to get my jumpsuit altered she worked me in and didn't stop trying to get my dress fixed in time for the wedding! This is a great shop that I would reccomend to anyone in DFW needing bridal alterations.

I put a ton of effort into researching the very best alterations place for my Berta gown that is extremely pricey. I can’t give enough credit to Margot West and her team in how professional and AMAZING they are. They are legit magicians. I couldn’t believe how they put my words into play the way they altered my gown and the way they made a custom veil out of my scrapings. Couldn’t recommend them more. Also, bonus—they’re sisters and the sweetest cutest individuals. I even bought all my accessories from their store and they were able to give me advice on other items as well.

I am new to Dallas and didn't really know where to go for bridal alterations. I'm so glad I came across Margo West from online reviews. This place is the best! She did a lot of alterations to my wedding gown (take in, put in cups, shorten train, sew on belt....) and it was absolutely perfect. I was so happy with how the dress fit and looked. It was easy to make an appointment online, she did the alterations in a reasonable amount of time. I highly recommend this place.

I had my wedding dress altered here and had a bustle added and they did such a phenomenal job. Margo is so talented at what she does. Basically, my whole dress had to be taken apart (torso needed to be shortened, straps shortened, and different sections of the dress needed to be taken in) and she did such an amazing job at making my dress fit my body perfectly. I received so many compliments on my dress. There is no one else I would have trusted with my dress. I would highly recommend Margo West Bridal Alterations to anyone who needs alterations. Margo is great! One, she's got the best personality! Really makes it sink in how special your day is and will be and does her best to make sure you look great for it! Her prices were definitely reasonable and she was willing to work to get my alterations within my budget. She was also really open to feedback and made sure my thoughts and opinions were heard and incorporated. Also, I tried to re-purpose my cousin's veil for my wedding day, and she was really open to creative solutions to make it work for me! Also repaired a tear in it, can't even tell where! Finally, the preservation. Her price, by far, is the best bang for buck. She'll preserve your dress, garter and veil for ~$250 depending on how many washes your dress needs! My mom price compared, this is certainly the best! Would definitely recommend!

Margo West Bridal Alterations were TERRIFIC!! We had some issues with the sizing of the dress we ordered and they were so kind, patient, and sympathetic .... They made the fit absolutely perfect, worked in such a timely manner and were so reassuring always to my daughter! They also altered my MOB dress to perfection! We would highly recommend and would use again & again!

I LOVED working with Margo and her team on my wedding dress alterations! I definitely had some dress anxiety and a little bit of regret when I picked up my dress from the salon, but after Margo was finished with it, I was (and still am!) absolutely in love with my dress. Yes, she’s a little on the pricey side, but I would say she was absolutely worth it. And I also found the perfect veil to complement my dress at the store as well! I had been getting discouraged because nothing was working, and then she brought one out of her stock that was absolutely perfect. And Pat was wonderful to work with as well! I felt like I was really valued as a client every time I can in, from my first fitting through dropping off and picking up my dress after preservation.

The quality of service and expertise of craftsmanship shown is unmatched. Margo has an eye for excellence!" My first daughter looked amazing in her wedding gown. Margo suggestions made my second daughter dress look better after the first fitting. She immediately noticed things that never crossed my mind and I sew. We can't hardly wait to go back for our appointment to pick it up! I have oe daughter left to get married and there is no other place I will go to get any alterations done.

The shop where I bought my dress doesn't do alterations, so I researched tailors. I set an appointment at Margo's for a first fitting and everyone was very nice. We were told it would be $1,700 for my dress to be taken in and have a couple of buttons fixed. Not knowing anything about wedding dress alterations, we put a deposit down. I went back to the place where I bought my dress and they said they had never heard of alterations costing that much. I was able to call, get my dress back, and get my deposit back. While everyone was nice and the shop was lovely, I'm getting my alterations done by someone just as well known for less than third of the cost. I'm sure Margo does a great job, but you'll pay for it.

I went to their Dallas location to have a bustle put on my dress. They not only did a fantastic job, but they also altered the long-line torsolette I bought to make sure it would work well with the dress, and even sewed it into the dress! I was lucky they were able to fit me in just a couple months before my wedding. They treated me with courtesy and respect, and clearly listened to my concerns. Now I feel so much more confident in a dress that feels made for me!

Margo and her team were so wonderful and made my dress dreams come true! I purchased my wedding dress in New York City and traveled back to Dallas with it (my home base) to have the alterations done. When the dress arrived and was too big on me I of course went into bride-panic mode, but when speaking to Margo she assured me that she would be able to make it absolutely perfect, and boy was she right! It only took one alteration to have this dress fitting my body like it was made for me (because it was!!!!) I wore a simple boat neck style dress with no embellishments and a very sleek fabric… Needless to say their flawless work made this dress so absolutely perfect for my body that I didn't even have to wear undergarments! They added in cups that were the perfect size for my breasts and gave the dress beautiful curves not to mention the stitchwork was flawless! They also helped me with the decision of how to bustle the dress which was way more confusing than I originally thought it would be, and I am so thrilled with my choice in the end! If you need any bridal alterations done, Margo and her girls are rock stars! Highly, highly recommended and I will tell all of my friends about her services!

I don't know where to start. I bought my dress from a small shop and decided to have my alterations done there as well, I went back 4 different times and left discouraged because the company kept making excuses for faults in the alterations and telling me things I wanted couldn't be done. The dress I fell in love with I began to hate! I decided to try another alterations place to give it another go, and came across Margo and her great reviews. From the moment I called and told her about my dress to the moment I stepped in the door for my first apt she made me feel like she cared and sympathized. She and her sister listen to me and told me everything I wanted done was extremely doable and that I wasn't crazy! They fixed my dress when I brought it to them with so many problems TWO weeks before my wedding day. I tried on my dress when the alterations were done a day before my wedding and I couldn't help but start to cry. It was perfect, it hugged my body they way I wanted to and the dress I was so in love with when I first bought it was back! My best friend had her dress altered here and recommended them to me. I bought my wedding dress online because I fell in love with it. It didn't fit how I wanted, so I took it to their allen location. She recreated my entire dress and I absolutely love it! The beading detail work done looks original. Wouldn't recommend anyone else!!

I got my dress altered at Margo West in Allen by Pat and she did such an amazing job! I needed to get my dress hemmed and they had to take off all the bottom lace by hand. I had such a wonderful experience! I got my wedding dressed altered in one month because I started planning a wedding 3 months before the actual day! They were very accommodating and said no matter the time frame, I would receive my dress in plenty of time. This did cost me - but the workmanship was impeccable! For such a rush, I expected to not have the dress in time for my bridal session, but the dress was perfect after the first fitting! I highly recommend the Allen location specifically! Thank you!! :)

I had a wonderful experience at Margo's Bridal Alterations in Allen. The young woman that helped me was amazing!!! She was so kind and my finished dress looked fabulous!! I am 5'1" and a size 00, they had to make a size 4 completely lace wedding dress fit me. There detail to work was so impressive, you would never know they had to completely remove the bottom lace and reattach it. I can't wait to wear come New Years Eve. There is no doubt in my mind my Daddy and fiance are going to be bawling their eyes out.

Margo Bridal alterations was wonderful! I had a last-minute wedding dress crisis, and she was a miracle worker! I couldn't have been more happy with the alterations!!!

My dress was custom made and I could've worn it exactly how it came. But since I had lost a little weight right before the wedding, I wanted to get a few alterations to make if fit perfectly. I went in to Margo Bridal and had to pay over $600 to take it in less than an inch. I also paid $200 to add a bustle and on the day of my wedding, one of the buttons had popped off so I couldn't even bustle the dress. I definitely would not recommend...

Loved Margo and her staff! My dress fit perfectly and Margo was able to take my moms veil and revamp it (including removing the crown headpiece and dying the material to match my dress) and it turned out wonderful! Thank you Margo!!

LOVE Margo Bridal Alterations! I went to the Deep Ellum boutique and had such a wonderful experience. My dress was a very elaborate BHLDN dress with lots of hand-sewn details—I basically had to take the dress down a full size for it to fit perfectly and they did a phenomenal job. I would recommend Margo Bridal Alterations to any bride looking for quality and reliable service in a welcoming environment.

I just got back from picking up my dress, and WOW, Margo and her team did an amazing job! My dress before was beautiful but a little (way) too big on me, and the alterations they did are perfect! She was able to work with my schedule and give me advice on undergarments, as well as show me how a gown is really supposed to fit! If you're looking for someone to do alterations on your wedding gown (or any dress, really) I definitely recommend her, hands down.

Margo was amazing. I bought the sample size of my dress that fit very well, it did needed to be hemmed and had some slight alterations here and there. I would say Margo is a little on the pricer side, but you definitely get what you pay for. She was engaged and understanding of my concerns, we probably had 4-5 fittings just to get it right at my request and she was with me every step of the way. My dress came out perfect and looked spectacular on my wedding day. I would HIGHLY recommend her to anyone!

Margo was friendly and nice, and my dress ended up fitting great. However, things seemed very unorganized at times with me being told different dates my dress would be ready. This meant I had to come in a couple times more than expected only to be told nothing had been worked on yet or it wasn't quite ready. They also lost my ribbon that tied up the corset in the back, but "found" it later. This made me very nervous as the bride! Everything ultimately turned out fine, but the smallest bumps in the road made me uneasy.

Margo is a magician! She completely took apart and restitched my dress to fit like a glove. I lost almost 10 pounds 3 months before the big day due to a stomach virus and the seamstress where I purchased my dress was ok, but made some major sowing mistakes that shortened my dress to where I could not wear my original shoes. Margo was able to take apart my dress, find some additional length and make it fit. I felt perfect and comfortable in my dress...true fairy-tale moment made thanks to Margo!!!!!!

Margo was an absolute pleasure to work with. She altered my wedding gown to fit beautifully. I was initially worried handing my dress over to a stranger given the delicate nature of the lace and silk but her work was impeccable & Margo made me feel at ease. I highly recommend to any bride or bridesmaid!

My silk gown was absolutely perfect. I felt like a princess and it fit me like a glove. Margo was readily available to talk to and helped advise on what undergarments to wear, which can be daunting. Overall I have nothing but praise for her, she worked with my schedule and is one of the main reasons my wedding turned out as well as it did. The dress is an important part, if not the most important part next to the bride and groom themselves and Margo made mine beautifully.

Like most brides, it's tough to trust such an expensive gown to an unknown tailor. I googled the best/top bridal alterations in DFW and got this place. After reading reviews, I decided to try her out. I dealt a lot more with Lisa (Margo's sister), than Margo. Lisa was very courteous and tried to be relatable. I needed 2 gowns altered. Bridal gown just needed to have the bust taken in. 2nd gown needed to be hemmed up and fitted at the bust area as well. My first dress fitting, my bridal gown was tightened rather snugly and the 2nd gown did NOT have any alterations completed on it. I noticed during this time that the corset on my dress was protruding and asked if anything could be done. Margo safety-pinned this and said that they could cut it and the line should disappear. At the second dress fitting, the bridal gown remained unchanged. Margo claimed that she did not know what the safety-pin on the corset was for and said that she could not guarantee a good result on the wedding dress if she had to cut the corset ribs. My 2nd dress was completely altered (even though at the first dress fitting, they stated that the dress would not be cut until my final shoes were selected). Needless to say, I took both my dresses home that day. I ended up having to find a different alterations lady, who found out Margo messed up the seams on the back of my wedding gown and had stitched some things that should not have been stitched (at first it looked like my dress had been accidentally cut at the hip and sewn together). I would not recommend her for your bridal alterations.

I had very high hopes for Margot Alterations. She was extremely attentive and nice on my first visit - my sister and mother joined me at her Allen location (my parents' house is just 5 minutes from her Allen store front). We then scheduled my next two appointments at her Deep Ellum location since I live in Fort Worth. At my second appointment, I called 20 minutes after our scheduled time and she assured me she was almost there. She called me back 10 minutes later telling me she was at the wrong location! I had to wait outside in my car for an hour for her to arrive. She proceeded ensure my mother and me she would be at the Deep Ellum location for our next appointment and made a "special note" on her calendar. At my third appointment, she was not there on time and I called her 10 minutes after our scheduled appointment. Her sister picked up and told me she was driving and would be there soon. 30 minutes later she was still not there. I called and it kept going straight to voicemail. As soon as I started to leave she called me laughing, saying she was in the wrong location again. At this point I was extremely frustrated. It takes me an hour to get to Deep Ellum, and vacation time had to be used to be there within her business hours. After flat out arguing with me about how these things happen sometimes, I reminded her she had already done this to me because she seemed to have forgotten about the previous incident. She was able to accommodate me with a Saturday appointment at her Allen location so I would not have to miss any more work. My dress ended up looking great! She did a last minute adjustment and sewed the top layer of lace onto the silk dress underneath so it would not separate as I walked. I thought that maybe all the headaches she gave me were worth it, not to mention the $866.00 I was charged for the work. Well.. right before I walked down the aisle.. my strap completely snapped off where it was sewn to size and was falling down, and the last minute stitching she did came apart as my dad was getting me ready to go. Thank goodness my aunt is really good with a needle and thread. She was able to do a temporary fix before BOTH straps snapped again after the ceremony. I had to change into my "send off" outfit about 30 minutes into my reception. I typically only write reviews if I have something good to say, but brides already have enough on their plate - and this just left a bad taste in my mouth.

Margo is great! She altered all lace my wedding gown to perfection. I am a size 4 on top and a 10 on bottom, and I had an all over lace v-neck fit and flair gown in a size 10. When I bought it was a little worried about having the top altered 3 sizes smaller, and having it still fit and look great. Margo exceeded my expectations. It fit like a glove and looked like it was made just for me! You would not even know it was altered at all. like I said, PERFECTION!

In the end I was happy with the alterations to my veil Margo made. She had my item for 17 days and two hours before my appointment called to tell me it wasn't completed. We rescheduled for the following day, my wedding dress was still wet from the cleaning when I arrived and the veil had literally just been finished. It added stress to my wedding experience.

I got my dress at David’s Bridals, but after reading mixed reviews about using their in-house tailors, I decided to go elsewhere. I found Margo on several review websites, and I can attest to all of her other reviews. I didn’t need any major alterations, but the minor adjustments she did make made a world of difference! She even brought to my attention a big rip in the lace that I didn’t notice and repaired it at no cost. The dress fit perfectly, and I was able to wear it comfortably all day (from 10am-past midnight)!

If you have concerns about your wedding dress alterations like I did take your dress to Margo! I had a full beaded and lace bodice that needed to be taken in 2 inches a month before the wedding. Margo took one look at it and within a 15 min consultation had a plan of action and quote ready for me. We scheduled 3 fittings once a week to assure the perfect fit. After the dressed was altered Margo had it steam cleaned and held the dress for me until the day before the wedding! The expense was worth every penny!!!
