We and our guests stayed at the Marriott West for our wedding, and they were so wonderful to work with from day 1. Sammy was the main contact with my mom, and she was so responsive and able to work with our changing needs. We ended up having guests saying for nearly a week due to travel, and these days all counted towards our block. We were able to have the front desk hand out welcome bags to our guests, and everyone enjoyed their stay. We were able to have private patio space to entertain, and they were very flexible with check-in and -out. Would highly recommend for your hotel block!
Our 3/16/2024 wedding was one of the best days of our lives. That’s all thanks to Minneapolis Marriott West and our coordinator Shay. From the first day she contacted us, all the way until the end, she was amazing. Shay was there for any questions I had, or any concerns.
Minneapolis Marriott West was truly a fantastic place to host our wedding. We were married Saint Patrick’s Day weekend. KIP’s has Irish events going on all weekend and they were able to manage all of the extra people and making sure everything stayed separate the day of wedding.
I really had no need for concern the day of the wedding. Everything was taken care of by Shay, our banquet captain and the rest of the staff. The ceremony went smoothly, the cocktail hour as well. Shay was also so kind to be on top of it and bring us our favorite drinks and our appetizers up the hotel room while we took in the beginning moments of being married as we would not be joining our cocktail hour. Right before our grand entrance she got us down to the ballroom for us to take a first peek at what we had visioned for the last year and a half of planning and tears came to my eyes at how much they were able to help us capture what we wanted. It was beautiful. The rest of the night, was just so perfect.
We had so many of our family and friends complement how beautiful this venue is after that day. People are still asking us about the appetizers we had. We even hosted a morning after brunch and again, the banquet captain was just so much on point and the food again, turned out great.
If you’re looking for a place to get married, don’t skip this place. There are so many other benefits you get with booking here. I honestly wish I could go back in time and do the day again because of how fantastic it turned out to be.
Thank you again Linda, Shay and Minneapolis Marriott West for our best day ever!
I cannot speak highly enough about the staff at the Minneapolis Marriott West - Shay and Linda are an absolute delight to work with. Shay was in frequent contact with me ensuring that all details are confirmed and that everything was to our liking. On the day of, Shay handled everything and she allowed me to fully enjoy my day without having to worry about decorating, setting up, or making decisions - I trusted her completely and was NOT disappointed! In addition, the rest of the staff was so kind and accommodating and the space itself was exactly what we wanted. We had a number of out of town guests who loved the location and were so pleased with the hotel itself - pick the Marriott Minneapolis West and you will NOT regret it!
The Minneapolis Marriott West was the best venue to work with for our wedding day! The staff there, especially Shay and Linda, were incredible and so easy to work with. Their hard work and dedication to making sure that our day went off without a hitch was amazing. The communication that we had with the venue staff prior to our big day was so reassuring in making sure that everything was in order. We could not have asked for a better venue, catering staff, bartending staff, hotel staff, hotel to stay at and host our wedding ceremony and reception.
Great for larger weddings as there are two hotels connected together to accommodate out of town guests we had 270 guests and there was plenty of room for everyone for the ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner/reception and to stay the night as needed.
Location is great for the Twin Cities area. Plenty of fun places indoors for pictures as well as many local parks only a 5-10 minute drive from the hotel for pictures.
We also felt very special as a couple. They put together our honeymoon suite with late night snacks, desserts and a bottle of champagne to celebrate.
Could not recommend this venue enough!
Since we had a lot of guest from out of town it was very convenient to have our rehearsal dinner, ceremony, and reception in the same location. We chose the Marriott because they were able to take care of a lot of things that other venues don't. We did our food, table settings and center pieces, and beer through the Marriott. They make the wedding day low stress by setting up the tables and taking down the tables for you. We worked with Linda through our wedding planning process and on our wedding day. She was very quick to respond to emails and answered all of our questions. She kept us organized and on track leading up to our wedding day. She was wonderful to work with! Another huge shoutout to the entire Marriott team for being flexible with us when Covid hit. They let us reschedule to make sure we had the day we always wanted. Can't recommend this place more!!
Linda, our wedding coordinator at the Minneapolis Marriott West made our event perfect!!! So detailed and professional!
The hotel rooms were beautiful, the ballroom was majestic...and the food was sooooo good! (you could cut the prime rib with a fork)! The service was impeccable!
We were very happy with our choice having our Ceremony/ Reception at the Marriott Hotel everything was amazing and a HUGE thank you to Megan our Wedding Coordinator for keeping us calm and making the whole day flow nicely!! Marriott Hotel made our Big day very special! Also we had our Rehearsal Dinner at Kips and that was just has amazing and fun!!!
Used them for hotel block. Worked with Jalaalee (new employee) and had an AWESOME experience. We continued to add additional rooms to my block. They gave us a link where our guests could easily book online. We received a free night in a suite and $140 shuttle credit because we have 20+ nights reserved in our block. So impressed by the quality of service, and highly recommend to other brides!
We were initially very impressed with Marriott West. Dan Maurer was especially helpful in the beginning planning process. However, in the seven months leading up to our wedding, we went through four different employees as our lead contact. This was confusing and we felt that we had to repeat ourselves many times over.
There was a hiccup right away in the planning process. We had initially been told by a sales manager that we could have the concierge lounge for our wedding weekend. However, a few days later, we were told that the room had been previously booked. But Dan Maurer saved the day by giving us a lovely corner suite at a very reduced rate and removed the bed, put in a refrigerator, tables, and chairs for us to use for our hospitality suite. Thank you for that, Dan.
Another issue that we had involved room placement. We had been told the week of our wedding that my family could have the suite sharing the balcony of the hospitality suite. However, when we checked in, we were told that the suite was booked the entire week/weekend, so we were on a different floor entirely. I'm not sure where the miscommunication occurred, but we were not pleased.
But I will say, Marriott West redeemed itself from these hiccups with outstanding quality and value. We were given a very reduced rate for which our wedding guests were very grateful! Our rooms were very clean. Overall, I was pleased with our experience.
We had our rehearsal dinner and our hotel room block here. The staff of Kip's Pub is absolutely unbeatable for a dinner. They put together a delicious menu, and when we had a dinner crasher, the event manager was there at his elbow to pull him away--she came and apologized, but there was no need, as this will be a legend in my family for years to come. The wait staff was the perfect combination of attentive and sassy, and when some wedding guests were in the bar til bar close, they offered an empty meeting room to them so they wouldn't disturb guests in the lobby.
Kelly, who was my contact for the room block, did a great job too. If you use marriott rewards, be sure to give them your rewards number! They also comped our honeymoon suite and gave us a discount on our wedding shuttle (Northfield lines--but they will do it with a variety of shuttle companies) because we booked a certain amount of rooms. DEFINITELY worth your time to work with Marriott, as they give you so much back when you book.
We were recommended the Marriott Minneapolis West by the Minneapolis Golf Club. They were so easy to work with.
We had guest bags for our guests staying at the hotel and they made sure that each guest received one. They also allowed early check in for people in the wedding party, so we all be there for pictures and not have to worry about having our overnight stuff with us.
We booked enough rooms to receive a free shuttle for 2 hours and they helped us set that up. We also booked enough rooms to receive a free room for the bride and groom.
The rooms were very nice, reasonably priced, and the staff was very nice and provided excellent service!
We used this hotel because it was recommended by our venue, the Minneapolis Golf Club, for guest accommodations. They offered a discount because of holding our wedding at the Golf Club. It is a very nice hotel. We booked suites for our wedding party, and they were very nice. The beds were very comfortable.
Our experience with the Minneapolis Marriott West was great. We worked very closely with Leyna and she was awesome! Quick to return email/calls and if she didn't know the answer to a question, she would always find someone who could help us. I was very nervous that a month prior to our big day, I was told a meeting was booked in the ballroom the morning of our event and I wouldn't be able to get in prior to our ceremony and had to put my trust in others to set it up. I am truely amazed at how quickly they were able to "flip" the room to our elegant wedding set up! Leyna and the event staff were even willing to set out my decor as long as I had it labeled and spelled out what I wanted. It was perfect! Pre-planning and following up was easy to do with them to ensure every detail would fall into place. Guests had a great time from their stay in the rooms, the pool and the restaurant to the cocktail hour hosted in the entry space!
This was by far the worst vendor we worked with. At the beginning, they were timely in their responses, friendly and told us what we wanted to hear. Once the papers were signed, the retracted promises, took forever to respond and were a pain to work with. The whole weekend of our wedding only one elevator worked, making it pain to haul everything we needed to. Definitely wouldn't recommend them.
We were very happy with our decision to have our reception at the Marriott. The food was delicious and the staff was friendly, attentive, and easy to work with.
The team at the Marriott made my day seamless and so memorable. From day one, the helped with every detail and I nor any of the guests have more then the best review from them.
Our stay was wonderful and everything was taken care of by Lisa W. the sales manager. We were able to make arrangements to and from the ceremony as well with their shuttle service for an extra fee. Love the marriott!
Shuttle service available, great wedding black packages.
Great rooms and staff! Nice that it had a bar/restaurant in it. There was no (free) continental breakfast or fridges or mini bars in the rooms. The double queen suites were lacking a bit for mirror space. Overall though it was an excellent stay for a good price!
We reserved a block of rooms with the Marriott for our out of town and possibly some in town guests. They gave my husband and I a complimentary room because we had a certain number of rooms that had been reserved. All of my guests loved the hotel, they have a restuarant located in the hotel. The guests with children loved the fact that they had a pool for the children to swim.. Highly recommend the Marriott !!
the general manager, the ambience, the cost, the food abikity to do your own thing set up etc.;be sure whom you event site person will be and if they don;t plan on firing her before you wedding starts, majke sure your room is clean and no stains on carpet,
Size of the room the exterior in the lobby for the cocktail hour location kosher catering; Our contact person left a few months before the event and we had to work with a new person who turned out was unable to be there for the day of the wedding so we had some miscommunication but things worked out great.
It was nice that all of the out of town guests could stay at the hotel; The receptions 'wedding planner' messed up many details that we had discussed, told me two days prior that she would be out of town and not attending, told me I couldn't have a chocolate fountain after she said I could, and I'd already purchased it and used it for my shower and they tried closing my party down early.
