This review is mainly going to cover having our rehearsal dinner/ceremony/reception at this location. However, I do want to say that we also had a room block here and Melissa was so easy to work with and everyone enjoyed their stay. They even re-opened the block up last minute so someone could snag a room.
I want to start off by saying that we did not have a terrible experience here, we would just never recommend anyone use this hotel as their wedding venue.
The positives: Our rehearsal dinner was nice, they did a great job decorating and the food was tasty. Food at the reception was good, they were very flexible when it came to early set-up and breakdown (most of our wedding decor was DIY'ed ourselves), the sales and banquet staff are for the most part friendly and helpful as best they can be. The ballroom needs some TLC (mainly the carpet) but only when you look at it closely, so it's still very pretty in that classic hotel ballroom sort of way. When we needed help, the Marriott banquet management staff were there for us.
The negatives: I don't know what's going on over there but by the day after our wedding it was obvious to my husband and I that the sales and banquet staff have some sort of beef which means they don't want to ever communicate with each other which caused unnecessary stress for us. What we found out was that the Sales department, who you are speaking with when booking and planning everything, doesn't actually have a good grasp of what it takes to run an event. They would tell us something was possible then we'd be told by Banquet staff a few days before or the night before the wedding that what Sales told us wouldn't work and then we were stuck making last minute changes which was very stressful. Banquet staff weren't unfriendly, and it was obvious they wanted to make these changes to ensure our wedding was successful but it was frustrating to have to deal with all of that then while we had had the venue booked for a year and our menu chosen for two months. And I'm not sure where they hire the bartenders and waitstaff from, and while they were nice, many of them seemed to have very little service experience and we and our guests were often left waiting a long time for drink refills or service.
We originally went with another hotel for our wedding block. After a year of having it booked, the hotel blindsided us telling us they were closing down during our wedding month, just a few months before the wedding. We contacted Marriott Park Ridge and they were so quick to answer us and luckily had availability. Their rooms are very nice and the service is even better from the event staff. We had a breakfast the next morning which was very nice in a big beautiful room. I would highly recommend. Special thanks to Melissa Mazzella and Sylvia Casafranca who I worked with directly.
Marriott Park Ridge was a comfortable weekend stay for Christopher and I wedding. We were able to fit all immediate and traveling family members comfortably for a stay and a reasonable budget. I would recommend this hotel for a cute weekend stay specifically during the fall season. It is a wonderful area with great spots to travel around such as supermarket, train station, boutiques and Main Street. Thank you Marriott Park Ridge! 👰🏻♀️🤵🏽
We booked our room block with the Park Ridge Marriott and could not be happier. Melissa, who is the events manager was great and helped us with any questions we had throughout the last year. The rooms were clean and spacious, and the staff were extremely accommodating. We had booked a king room attached to the hospitality suite which worked perfectly for my husband and his groomsmen to get ready. We also used Sean O’Caseys Irish Pub (the bar inside the hotel) for our after party. It was PERFECT for a low key after party with cash bar and plenty of space for multiple weddings' after parties, open until 2am!
Working with the Marriott Park Ridge from beginning to end was a breeze! Melissa Mazzella & Dominique Petruzzella we’re such a pleasure to work with. They were always so quick with responses to any questions we had. The shuttle service was so great and convenient for our guests! The front desk handed out our welcome bags with no issues. By far 15/10 for this hotel! We came back from our wedding into our room to a surprise of champagne, strawberries, and a beautiful card wishing us congratulations. We truly enjoyed our stay and so did our guests. Rooms are updated, clean, and the outside and indoor hangout spaces are great especially after we returned from the wedding we kept the party going and the hotel didn’t complain once!
We had our wedding block booked here and the hotel was amazing. Our sales rep Melissa was incredible - she always answered every email, was so helpful and responsive and scheduled everything perfectly. We had welcome drinks at the bar and Max was awesome at coordinating everything and helping me understand how much food to order. For brunch, Sylvia and Matt handled everything so well. At the front desk, they were so easy going to work with and were super helpful w/ our welcome bags. We are so grateful for all that everyone at the Park Ridge Marriott did!!! Thank you!!!
When booking our wedding at the Estate at Florentine Gardens, they recommended two hotels for room blocks. We moved forward with booking the Park Ridge Marriott.
Guests who checked in early told us during our receiving line at church how absolutely beautiful the rooms were! We were excited based off of our guests excitement. As the time drew close to our cocktail, immediate family members were receiving nonstop phone calls. Why? Because the promised shuttles (two 25 passenger shuttles) did not arrive. We had many guests from not only out of town but out of state! The shuttles were suppose to arrive at 6:30pm to get our guests to cocktail hour by 7pm. Unfortunately nothing showed up until 7pm, start of cocktail hour. After many guests already drove or Uber-ed. Some of our guests took other guests who they didn't even know!! Our own grandparents were late to our wedding because of this! The shuttle that arrived was also only a 14 passenger... Good thing people found their own way to get there or else they wouldn't have fit!! When we received a phone call about the issue, it wasn't as heartfelt of an apology as we hoped for. Seemed very forced as if it wasn't even cared about! It is very frustrating to hear on repeat that it has never happened before... So why did it happen now???
We also hosted a post wedding brunch the following day. Everything with that part went extremely well and we were pleased with it all!
Last weekend on October 7th, we had our wedding ceremony and reception at the Park Ridge Marriott. We also had a block of about 15 rooms for our guests. Everything we experienced was even better than we hoped for. The wedding planner, Danielle was beyond fantastic and the banquet manager, Nic worked very hard to make sure everything was perfect - the entire day and evening made all our dreams come true! The front desk and room staff were all terrific and accommodating for our guests and the Sunday breakfast staff at Braes was great for the thirty people who attended.
Danielle helped plan every wedding detail and offered excellent ideas and advise for many months, the chef, Sergio ensured beyond delicious food and beverages for our guests, Nic and his banquet staff worked so hard and treated us as if we were royalty! And thanks Claudette for the best service at the reception dinner.
The front desk personnel assisted us with anything and everything and Cara the events coordinator set up the block of rooms seamlessly even with all the changes!
Danielle and the staff really gave it 110% and made this very special day even better. Kudos to all at the Park Ridge Marriott and thanks!
My husband and I chose this hotel as an accommodation for our wedding guests and we could not have been happier! The hotel was clean and the staff were extremely friendly and they provided roomy shuttles as transportation to our wedding! Our guests loved the Pub and the pool, as well as the food that was served the next morning. My husband and I stayed overnight and were so pleased with the room and facility. We chose to use the hotel for a next-day brunch and let me tell you... the food was amazing! We were able to book a room that had an out door patio with tables and couches and it was so perfect! We worked with both Sally and Lahniya and the two of them were so extremely helpful. Lahniya was SO sweet! We will definitely be back! Thank you again Park Ridge Marriott for being so accommodating to both my husband and I as well as all of our guests! You guys are the best!
I chose the Park Ridge Marriott to host my wedding guests, and myself the morning of my wedding.
My bridal suite was GORGEOUS! Nice and spacious to accomodate everyone the morning of. Kassandra was so helpful from the moment I signed the contract. Danielle helped me set up my post wedding brunch-it was wonderful. The food and service was excellent :)
Great service. All my guests were happy and all got their goody bags which I left for them. Rooms were spacious and clean. Suite was complimentary after ten rooms were booked under my wedding block!
The Park Ridge Marriott did such an amazing job for our wedding. Their customer service was impressive from the very first phone call I made. After taking a tour of their beautiful location, my husband and I knew it would be the perfect place for our guests to stay. The rooms were very clean and well-maintained and the Marriott offered a reasonable rate for our guests.
Our hotel representative, Lisa, was so helpful throughout the planning process that we did not have to worry about anything. She listened to our needs and provided exactly what we wished for. I booked the bridal suite for me and my bridesmaids and it was the perfect place to get ready. The room was very spacious and perfect for having hair and makeup done. I also booked transportation for our guests to travel to and from our reception. The shuttle was not only on time, but it also waited for all of our guests to arrive before leaving. On our wedding night, my husband and I were very pleasantly surprised to find that Lisa had sent chocolate covered strawberries and a bottle of champagne to our room. So thoughtful!
Overall, we had a fantastic experience!
We had our wedding November 4th and we stayed at the hotel with many of our guests for a day prior and day after the wedding. The rates were amazing and the hotel and so many amenities to offer, not to mention the kept our leftover food refrigerated after the reception. Amazing hotel and great staff.
Blocking off rooms is the easy part... the breakfast buffet is great... the grounds and rooms are very nice and well kept. The only issue is the 3rd party they use for shuttles to and from Florentine Gardens... you need to make sure you have every last detail mapped out w/ your Marriott coordinator to make sure all runs smoothly. Luckily our minor problems were sorted out VERY QUICKLY! =)
It was a good, clean, well organized and friendly hotel.
Nice to have a good hotel pub for everyone to hang after the wedding.
My family hosted a private breakfast the following morning at the hotel. Food was good and fresh. The room was pretty.
The venue itself has a lot of potential and can do outdoor weddings if interested. Our only problem was the event coordinator at the hotel. He was completely disorganized, and kept coming up to us all weekend (including as the party was wrapping up and vendors were breaking down their equipment) saying that he forgot to add charges to our bill and that he needed to charge us an extra $400 for this, and $900 for that. He was the one person I was supposed to not have to worry about, and he became one of the worst people to work with. However, the matr'e d was wonderful; very attentive, and the staff was equally wonderful. I *heard* the food was excellent (I didn't have time to really eat all night), including from my new BIL who is a chef.
This was an amazing place to stay before and after my wedding! The rooms were clean and beautiful, the beds were super comfortable and the breakfast buffet was delicious! It was the perfect spot for our guests to stay!
We recently held our reception at the Marriott - Nov 2010. Wedding coordinator did a great job making sure our event was smooth and a success.
Logistically it's an ideal place for guests flying in from out of town. The quality and service was amazing.
This was the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in in my life!
