The absolute best wedding caterer we could have asked for. This is nothing like your ordinary catering experience. Even a month after having our wedding, we are STILL getting comments from our guests saying that they have never had wedding food like this. We have nothing but great things to say. Their main contact person had to take an unexpected leave and the owners stepped in immediately and not once did we ever fear we were going to have issues with this family business. It is worth noting that they are based out of Kansas City and we had our wedding in Lawrence, KS and the food was still hot and fresh when it was time for us to sit down and eat our food! They also were able to bring us food to our head table so we did not have to worry about that! The payment process and having to remember quantities and contracts, they used an online portal that had everything easily accessible! and it was wonderful! We cannot rave about them enough, and want to have an excuse to use them again!

Guests are still raving about the food! Chef Matthew and Jennifer provided an incredible experience! Gretchen coordinated everything perfectly and Katie’s direction of the onsite team was fabulous! With several vegetarians as guests including the groom and his family, Matthew’s was able to put together a menu that hit all the right spots for both vegetarians and the meat and potatoes crowd. The roasted red pepper pasta was the bomb!

Mathew’s Catering was absolutely incredible for our wedding!! The food was AMAZING!! We received so many compliments on their food and the service they provided. They were so helpful and easy to work with throughout the eight months that we were in contact before our wedding. I could not rave more about Matthew's Catering! Not only in the food incredible, but everyone from Matt, Jeni, and their event staff were so so awesome! From the custom menus, to the speedy and diligent communication through the whole process, to even being calm, cool, and collected when timelines adjusted the day before, everything was amazing! Matt and Jeni were a joy to chat with at our tasting, and Jeni was truly next level with any questions/requests/random thoughts we had. Anytime I had a question, she had a speedy answer and assured me that no question was a dumb question (which I so appreciated). They made sure that all our guests, even our vegan friends, had plenty of yummy options! The staff they provided to work our wedding buffet were amazing, kind, and so professional. They even offered to grab my partner and I's plates first so we didn't have to leave our sweethearts table. They were so on top of everything, we truly couldn't have asked for a better catering team. My husband and I booked Matthew's Catering for our April 2023 wedding and it was phenomenal! Throughout the entire process of tastings, personalizing our menus, communications, and finalizing wedding day details Matt, Jeni and their team were the best! They were so professional in ensuring we and our guests had the best experience. We still have guests complimenting the fantastic food and service! It was a super bonus to have two plates of leftovers for my husband and I after wedding day! We would absolutely recommend them!

Matthew’s Catering- 10/10 would recommend!!! We had scheduled a different caterer that canceled on us 8 months before the wedding. We scrambled and found Matthew’s and did a taste test. The food was amazing and we booked them for our wedding immediately. They were phenomenal. We had so many guests telling us how good the food was, especially the Mac and cheese. They were wonderful. The food is delicious, service was great, and the price was fair. Would book with them again no doubt. Thank you!

Tacos were a great option for our wedding, because we had guests with various dietary needs. Many quests complimented our meal choice after the fact, and Megan and I thoroughly enjoyed the meal as well. Both Jeni and Matt were very helpful and answered our many questions. They have many other non-taco options too. We couldn't recommend these guys more!!

Matt, and his wife and team were amazing! They cooked for our wedding, and our rehearsal dinner! They originally went going to cook for our rehearsal dinner and saved the day when another place fell through. They even cooked my husbands home cuisine (puerto rican food) and everyone loved it!!

The food was amazing! We had BBQ and our guests could not stop complementing the food! The cheesy corn was to die for! Very happy with our choice!

Matthew’s Catering could not have been a better choice for my sons rehearsal dinner. We are out of town and they corresponded with me often to make sure everything was set. Our server was prompt, professional and went above and beyond in every aspect. I cannot put into words how good the food was. The guests did nothing but rave about it and go back for more. We had such an amazing experience with Matthews. My mom and I went in for the tasting and loved every single dish. We ended up having to switch the meal plan close to the wedding due to product increases and Jen was so kind and helpful in getting everything worked out. We received so many compliments (and still do) about how delicious everything was. Also, SO affordable. Genuinely some of the best food I’ve had. Their staff that worked the buffet was also so kind. They were having a great time as well as doing a great job. Such a joy to have them there. We loved every second!

We hired Matthew’s Catering for our wedding dinner. When I tell you their food is amazing I mean it! From the beginning of hiring Matthew's to cater our wedding of 185 people I knew they would be amazing. Locally/family owned and so easy to work with. Everything was very well organized and the food was amazing. Wanted to give a shout out to the the lemon herb chicken, red pepper pasta and macaroni (my favs)! Matthew's Catering was amazing. They catered my wedding in November and the food was fantastic and I would totally recommend the steak pasta. Jennifer was a delight to work with and was super responsive to my emails even when I kept wanting to add and remove things. We also had them cater lunch to the bridal party and those helping set up and everything turned out perfect. I cannot thank them enough because the food was a very important part to my wedding.

Affordable Elegance was amazing to work with from start to finish. We started with a taste-testing and we’re one over by the delicious Italian buffet option. The pasta, salad, green beans, and breadsticks were just as delicious on our wedding night as it was during our taste-testing! Our guests raved about the chicken Alfredo. We had AE make our wedding cake as well and did part vanilla, part chocolate. It was delicious and the combed frosting look was beautiful combined with floral accents from our florist. I would be remiss to not mention the servers who did a 10/10 job. They came around many times throughout the reception to ensure our head table had full drinks and to see if we needed anything. I highly recommend this catering company for any wedding. Their customer service and attention to detail is second to none!

We couldn't be happier that we chose Matthew's Catering. Jeni and Matthew were great from start to finish and communicated wonderfully. They catered both the rehearsal dinner (taco bar with all the extras) and the reception dinner (Brisket and Pulled Pork with all the extras). Our guests raved about it both nights.

We hired AE for our wedding and they were absolutely amazing start to finish. They created the perfect menu for our family, baked two spectacular cakes and provided beautiful linens. We received many compliments on the dinner and cake from our family and friends. What makes them even better... The evening before the wedding I realized that the ivory table cloths we ordered did not look right at the venue. I called and left them a voicemail after hours asking for their help. They called me back the next morning before their open hours and arranged white linens to be picked up immediately. They completely went above and beyond!

Loved this caterer. So happy they were available on our special day. They made everything so easy and were always very available for questions. The food was amazing but I think the longest standing compliments are from the sheet cake they brought for the guests. They made sure my husband and I had food while everyone was up grabbing their own. Everything was great!

I felt so taken care of throughout the entire process working with Affordable Elegance. From easy communication to SO many options to make my day perfect, they really went above and beyond. We had about 130 people and everyone was so happy with the food and service. The cake was amazing! We went with a standard white wedding cake and we have multiple compliments on how much it was enjoyed.

From the tasting experience with customized menu options based on what we were looking for, to making our actual wedding day a seamless and wonderful time for all of our guests, we truly thank Matthew and Jeni for being part of our journey! Their salad dressings are all homemade and choosing which ones to serve our guests was one of the hardest decisions we made during wedding planning (just kidding... but really they are all so good). Matthew was very open to our feedback and suggestions & Jeni was responsive throughout the entire process, and proactively reached out two weeks before the wedding to confirm all the final details. If you are looking for a caterer in the KC area, I HIGHLY recommend Matthew's Catering. They catered our son's wedding this fall and from the first tasting to the final clean up, it was an exceptional experience. The food was delicious and plentiful, and very pretty on the plate. They were on time, and the servers were excellent. The butlered apps, and plated dinner featured fresh food. Their prices are reasonable and very friendly and pleasant owners.

From out tasting to wedding day, Mathew and Jeni were amazing! This was the BEST wedding food that I have ever had!! I heard SO many compliments on our wedding food from all of my guests! We did the Pasta bar and let me tell you... I wish I could eat this food once a week!! It was so good! One thing that I my husband and I were sad about was our promised leftovers, that we never ended up taking to our hotel. This wasn't a huge issue, we just were looking forward to this perk from our caterer. (this wasn't there fault, just a bummer) All in all, We would highly recommend Matthews catering!!!

When I think back on my wedding day I remember sweet moments in the ceremony, a few dances, our friends and family, and... THE FOOD!!! The food was a huge hit with all of our guests and I seriously wish I could re-live that meal on a daily basis. Jennifer and Matt were absolutely amazing. I reached out with 2 weeks left, and they were so accommodating. The food was good, and they were so easy to work with to get all the details together. I'm a young bride, so money was tight, and I was unsure what I was doing for a lot of what I was supposed to do, but Jennifer had everything handled on the day of!

Affordable Elegance Catering did a splendid job from Day 1 in making sure every little detail was perfect for my special day. The tasting that we did was absolutely delicious - and the caterer took her time to sit with us while we tasted everything and to answer any and all questions that we had. Anytime leading up to the wedding that I had a question, as soon as I sent an email, a detailed and punctual response was sent back. Communication was seamless and easy - which made wedding prep much less stressful! The day of the wedding, they incorporated my color scheme into their buffet display, were friendly and courteous to all of my guests, and went above and beyond to help myself, the bridal party, and the guests with anything that they needed. I highly recommend Affordable Elegance Catering in Kansas City. If I had it to do all over again, I would choose them again in a hear beat!

They were amazing!! The food was perfect. They were so helpful with the whole process and even asked us about things we didn't even think of. The staff was friendly and professional. From the very beginning, working with Jeni and Chef Matt was great. We wanted to do a more unusual menu and Chef Matt created a meal to exceed our expectations (a combination of greek salad, mediterranean rice, grilled veggies, pita and hummus, and his own take on shawarma chicken). Our guests couldn't stop talking about it! I mean, to get compliments that it was the best wedding food and just food in general that they ever had was outstanding and made us feel like we were able to really treat our guests! Working with Jeni was so refreshing! She is professional and caring, and brought up so many details that I hadn't even thought of that elevated the service we received. She even cut our cake for the guests! We also had our rehearsal dinner catered by Matthew's Catering and were so impressed with his KC BBQ. The brisket was melt in your mouth tender and the sides were delicious. The price is very reasonable and the quality and value can't be beat. This team is truly an asset to an event they serve. Just wonderful. We were so incredibly lucky to find them. I will be recommending them for any and all occasions. They are THAT good. We had an phenomenal experience with Affordable Elegance for our daughters wedding. They helped us through many decisions and advised us on various segments of the wedding day. We chose a BBQ menu and customized it a bit — a Mixed Green Salad, Smoked Brisket, Pulled Pork, Loaded Garlic Mashed Potatoes, Hickory Baked Beans, Seasoned Green Beans, and Cornbread Muffins w/ Honey Butter. The food was amazing — repeatedly had guests commenting on how good the food was and amazing the catering crew was — such great service! They had our tables and buffet preset the day before, the buffet service was flawless, they cleared tables efficiently, and assisted with anything that was needed. Such a cordial and kind staff! DeeDee, we can’t thank you enough for helping us make Emily and Colby’s (postponed and long awaited) wedding day the best day ever! Kudos to Chef Greg the food was delicious! Thank you to your staff as well... Camie, Karlie, Rachel and Chris!!
