Mens Warehouse was where my groom and groomsmen as well as father of the bride/groom/ ring bearers received their rental tuxes. I loved the tux we picked out (vera wang) and the team was so helpful in picking this out in the beginning. I would say (which is why 4 stars) that depending on the Mens Warehouse you go to- there were some errors in sizing for some of the bridal party in when they picked up their tuxes; however the team was able to have the appropriate size for the day of ( one of our groomsmen had to go to a nearby Men Wearhouse on the day of the wedding to pick up the tux that was his size). The tuxes were amazing, clean and looked perfect.
the staff was dressed and behaved unprofessionally. Never did get some of th names spelled right. Tried collecting money after one of tuxes had been pre paid. wrong color of shirts given out and 1 tux sent out of state the day before the wedding. Awful service
The tuxes were perfect. One groomsman had an issue with the size of the pants being too long, but they fixed it quickly and had them ready in time.
Using Men’s Warehouse for the groom, groomsman, father of the bride, father of the groom, and ring bearer attire was the BIGGEST MISTAKE I made in planning a wedding. Almost nothing went right. We first met with the manager at the MW store in Novi. The initial meeting went well- we discussed what we wanted our guys wearing. The manager created a store ‘account’ for our event with all the information (which shirt, which pant, each guy should purchase) listed- allowing our guys to go to any MW location and the staff would be able to access our account and see exactly which items we’d like our guys to purchase. Over the next few weeks our friends and family made their way to Men’s Warehouse stores- mostly Novi, Livonia and Westland. Everything seemed to be going just fine until about two weeks before the wedding- my husband (the groom) went to pick up his shirt and vest and asked if all the guys had been in to purchase the necessary items..they couldn’t tell us. Oh, and they also didn’t have his vest. At this point my husband started reaching out to our bridal party and found his dad was supposed to receive a bow tie in the mail that never came, and TWO groomsman we’re missing pants. We reached out to the store and expressed the need for these items ASAP. The staff apologized and assured us they would make it right. Now we are a week out from the wedding and we learn another groomsman has no suspended buttons on his pants, another’s pants were never hemmed and the groom still has no vest. We again spoke to the manager who apologized. We explained how this process has been extremely embarrassing for us as nothing has gone right for anyone in our bridal party. He promised he would make it right and would give us and the guys gift cards for our trouble. Fast forward to TWO days prior to the wedding and we find some of the guys have white shirts when they are supposed to have gray shirts (we were told all they needed was the code and MW would give them the correct items). At this point I have a million other things on my mind, stress level is at an all time high and I am fed up with Men’s Warehouse’s mistakes. We go in to the Novi store with the wrong shirts and ask to have them exchanged for the right shirts. The manager once again apologized and makes the switch. Again, he said he’d make it right. Three months later and we haven’t heard a word from this company. Working with them was an absolute nightmare. I would never recommend them to anyone and I will be sure to share my horrible experience with everyone I know in the process of planning a wedding.
My husband and I booked at the Taylor location. Harrison there was specifically helpful and placing the reservation was great. Unfortunately, my cousin tried to fill the order at a different location and despite the arrangements I made, they tried charging my 6 year old ring bearer over $200 for his rental. Luckily Harrison fixed it. The tuxs arrived early and were in great condition. There was supposed to be an e-mail sent to use 14 days prior to our event with a $400 shopping spree. The venue never sent the e-mail and we almost lost out on the spree. Other than Harrison, the staff we worked with was annoying at best and rude quite a bit. If I had to do this over again, I don't think I would use Men's Wearhouse again.
I could not be more displeased with men's weathouse. They messed up the shirts for my father and a groomsman. When they tried to clarify what the correct shirt was they were told by the brighton store that they didn't know...it should have been in their system. My mom made THREE attempts to get the right shirt-wrong one provided at the store, incorrect one shipped, correct one shipped but wrinkled and balled up in package. When she called corporate to complain they ignored her. Not only that but my pants RIPPED the morning of the wedding. Upon further inspection a tailoring error had been maid and there was extra fabric that had been added. This was done at the Brighton, MI store. Buyers beware once they have your money they won't even attpemt to help you further.
The suits looked sharp, and were ready on time. They were very helpful and easy to work with.
So the groom decided three weeks before the wedding to change what the guys were wearing from rentals to purchases and Randy at the auburn hills location hooked him up! The guys looked amazing and the process was pretty painless.
This review applies to the Men's Wearhouse Novi Town Center location. I couldn't find a link for Novi Town Center, so I am using this one. The tuxes for me and my groomsmen looked great. However, I was not happy with the customer service. The reason I chose Men's Wearhouse was because they advertised that the groom gets his tux free if he has 5+ groomsmen. I had the requisite number of groomsmen, and made this known to MW when I booked my reservation with them. Fast forward to the date I pick up the suit for the wedding, and they explained that they "didn't make a note on my account" that I was seeking the "5 groomsmen/groom's tux is free" deal. So essentially, I was being punished for their lack of adequate record-keeping. I ended up having to wait about 30 minutes to get the issue resolved, and the sales rep didn't even apologize for the inconvenience. Grooms: make sure MW notes that your tux is free -- ask for a print-out when you book
We had our groomsmen purchase their suit from Men's Wearhouse in the Art Van Plaza, and let me count the ways in which they made things difficult and screwed things up:
1.) When we first chose a suit, they took the info down so the men could come in and buy it. The men came in, they had no clue what they needed to buy.
2.) We purchased all of the men's shirts for them. We told them the staff that the men didn't need shirts. Our guys came in, and they told them they had to buy shirts. So we ended up with groomsmen all buying shirts they didn't need.
3.) My brother's suit came back from alterations and the pants had a spot on them. They said they'd order him new pants. He came back when they told him to, and instead of ordering him new pants, they tried to pawn off a pair of TOTALLY different pants. They never ordered the new ones, and they were going to just let him take the wrong ones. This was less than a week before the wedding.
4.) They overcharged my dad for his suit.
5.) Anytime I tried to call for info on their orders, they could never pull up the information. They said they couldn't find anything and literally couldn't give me any answers.
6.) The person helping us told us that our groomsmen had to come in when she was working to get the "deal" for the suits. Well, she was hardly ever there. Since when do customers have to work around an employees schedule in a store like that?
The list goes on, I am sure I am forgetting something. I would never recommend this place for suit rental or purchase. Too many mistakes that just made the process that much more stressful. I honestly don't even know how this store stays in business.
While the quality of the tux was great. The service is lacking. If the sales associate is wearing pants which are so tight that they rip while he's helping fit your fiancé, there is a problem. We even went back a second time to check the fit and he tried to give my fiancé pants, a shirt and a vest which were clearly too big. While he seemed nice, he really couldn't be bothered to actually offer his opinion on the fit. I don't think we'll be visiting this particular location again in the future.
