We’ve ordered many cakes from Mermaids and never had an issue so we didn’t hesitate to ask them to make our wedding cake and cupcakes. The cakes were phenomenal however, the business caused many stresses for us just days before the event. Our info and cake order was lost multiple times. We were lucky enough to have called early to make payments on it and realized they no longer had our order on file. Three days before the wedding my Husband had a hunch to call and make sure the entire order was correct only to find out they forgot our order was supposed to be gluten free. They ended up charging us more than we were originally quoted because of this mistake. We had never had issues with this bakery until now. They’re great with smaller orders but knowing what we know now we probably wouldn’t have ordered our wedding cake through them.

The cake we order from Mermaids was INCREDIBLE! Jenny and her staff made us a cake the was elegant and beautiful but I didn't expect to be completely blown away by how delicious this cake was! We got the chocolate/sea salt/caramel cake with buttercream frosting and it was moist, full of flavor and was great to eat for the week after the wedding. We'll be ordering all of our cakes from Mermaids from now on. Wonderful staff, perfect cakes.

Mermaid's Bakery did a two tier cake along with a few dozen cupcakes for our wedding that turned out absolutely gorgeous. The price was very reasonable, the taste was outstanding, and the service was best-in-class. They went out of their way to call us on the day of because the design we requested didn't look how they hoped it would, and went above and beyond to add decorations (without any extra charge) so that it would look perfect. I would highly recommend their services for weddings or any other special events. Thank you Mermaid's Bakery!

We ordered cupcakes and a small cake for cutting - everything was delicious. In fact, the cupcakes were so amazing, the groom and I didn't get any during the reception. We didn't even get one after! The leftovers were taken so quickly! Everyone raved about them, even the people who don't like cake or sweets!!

We were excited to try this place for my birthday party. Their website says they require 24 hours notice for a cake. My husband placed order Friday morning for pick up on Saturday afternoon, and the bakery called Friday afternoon and said they couldn't have it ready. How do you run a business like that? Terrible customer service! Least they could've done was call when they received the order so we could make other arrangements. The person at the bakery called back several times, but was unwilling to work with us or help in anyway. We were simply following what was provided on the website.

There are a couple great things I have to say about my wedding cake from mermaids. The cake looked elegant, simply beautiful. I wanted to have a plain almond cake with fresh strawberry buttercream between the layers and cream/ivory frosting. They delivered on time and made exactly what we envisioned. There was only one minor problem, our cake was outside (for our outdoor wedding) a little too long and the icing started to soak into the cake. it wasn't noticiable from the outside at all, its just that the slices were buttery instead of firm on the edges and the cake itself was warm. Honestly I don't think any of the guests noticed (just the concerned bride) so my word of caution is: find a nice cool place to store your cake until the last minute.

I had a four tier wedding cake that tasted and looked wonderful!!!! My only complaint is that staff is a bit scatterbrained when it came to getting the full order details and there was a bit of confusion with the sheet cake so you need to do follow-up with them. But all in all it was a great looking wedding cake and my guests loved it!

We had a non-traditional cake of Tres Leches and it was delicious, my wedding guests are still raving about it! It was delivered on time and in tact and the owner Diana is a joy to work with! I'd recommend them for any occasion! Just a slight pet peeve about charging my card over the phone - it took them three weeks to charge my card which made me a litle uneasy as I wanted to make sure everyone was paid in a timely manner other than that the experience was great!

My experience was very similar to another reviewer -- the cupcakes were absolutely delicious; they created new flavors to meet my "tropical" theme. Diana is very creative and great at what she does -- she took my ideas and ran with them. That being said; if you like to feel in control, this is not the vendor for you! It was very difficult to get calls back and i never received a final invoice; just an "about". Be sure to stay on them to confirm details including delivery or any special requests (mine required special pre-made flowers to complete the cupcakes. If I hadn't called them, they wouldn't have been ordered in time!!) They are simply too busy and rather scattered. Very nice staff and again, DELICIOUS cupcakes, but be prepared!!

We decided to do cupcakes for our wedding, which saved us a ton of money but people also ate more of our cake and got to try three different flavors. Fantastic flavors and looked perfect.

These gals are amazing. So incredibly talented, easy going, professional & accommodating! Wish I had a picture of my cake to post. I was very specific, and they NAILED IT!

Their cakes and cupcakes are to DIE for they were a HUGE hit at the wedding.

I've used Mermaids for birthday cakes over the years, so we figured we try them for our wedding. They were fabulous! I loved their laid-back vibe and the fact that they don't charge differently for weddings. We did a variety of cupcakes (four flavors, three sizes) and a small cake for us on top, and it was delicious, beautiful and reasonably priced. It was just what we wanted. The only downside (which Mermaids had no control over) was that our venue still charged a cake-cutting fee even though we went with cupcakes. That was a bummer.

My fiance(now husband)and I had a wonderful time with Mermaid's from the start. What a cute little shop with friendly girls and delicious treats. We were able to sample all the flavors we wanted and took the extra home. I was able to email the owner pictures for my vision of what I wanted my cake to look like. And they matched it perfectly. We had so many compliments on the cake. I recommend the chocolate!!

Everything is made from scratch, lots of flavors and even gluten free! Not to heavy. Friendly staff. A little disorganized, but not enough to make them hard to work with. They do a free 1 year anniversary cake! One problem... they only have 1 delivery person, so if your venue is far away... you might have to have someone pick up your cakes.

They did a great job. They listened to my ideas. The cake looked and tasted great.

We had beautiful cupcakes from Mermaids Bakery at our wedding. Not only did they look great, but they were delicious as well! The guests loved them and that they had a choice in their cake consumption :) I was a little ambivalent about the colors of the frosting, and sensing that, someone from Mermaids called me the day before to see if I had changed my mind. I had! In the busy days before the wedding, I had forgotten to call to change the colors, so I was so happy that they called me instead.

Taste--We chose this bakery due to their ability to make gluten-free cupcakes taste, well, not gluten-free. I will give them 5 stars for that. Their cupcakes are delicious, and generally speaking, quite cost effective. They are absolutely amazing and everyone ate more than one. Red Velvet was a must. Now on to the less than 5-star ratings... Service-- The bakery is busy, and I found myself having to double and triple check my order with them. They are a bit scatterbrained, and I wasn't confident that we were speaking the same language when it came to decorations, flavors, etc. I even emailed pictures of what I wanted, called to confirm, but didn't get exactly what I had hoped for upon delivery. Professionalism-- All of my other vendors were organized and left me to be a worry-free bride, however, not knowing the outcome of the cupcakes left me a little unsettled, not to mention never receiving an invoice, being over-charged, and little add-ons that kept upping the overall cost. Flexibility-- They are fairly flexible as long as you can pick up your own cake/cupcakes. That's right. The morning of your wedding, you can come and get 'em. They do offer a delivery service, but I was told that my venue was out of scope ( a 25-30 min drive for them). So, after a plea and an additional $60, they were able to make it happen. Funny thing, upon arriving at 2pm on our wedding day, my cupcakes hadn't even been decorated yet, so I wonder what would have happened if I had picked them up at 9am as planned? The extra time seemed to be needed.

After tasting the cake at Mermaid, I looked no further. It was delicious and beautiful! The only thing I would change would be to have it delivered, rather than picked up by family. The cake wasn't packed to travel, and by the time it got to the venue (a two+ hour drive with windows down in 15 degree weather and coats used to block sunlight from melting the icing) we had to pick dust and dirt off of the icing. In the end it was still beautiful and tasted great, but some cardboard and saran would have helped.

Very pretty cake but was kinda dry. I was a little disappointed. They are hard to get in contact with.

I looked everywhere for a bakery with the best red velvet cake in town and Mermaids was the place!! It was amazing. I couldn't have asked for a better bakery!! They are also going to send us a new top tear for our 1 year anniversary for free... I can't wait to have our cake again.. Easy to work with and everything was on time for delivery.. I would recommend them to anyone..
