Located in Golden Valley, MN, Metropolitan Ballroom & Clubroom is a wedding venue that is operated by D’Amico Catering. The entire location was especially designed for hosting gatherings and great consideration was put into the facilities to make it a premier event space. You can enjoy fine food and dance the night away in an elegant area that features an array of sophisticated touches throughout the decor. For well over two decades, D’Amico Catering has been hosting events throughout the Twin Cities and their neighboring suburbs. The company was founded by the D’Amico brothers Larry and Richard who are the children of immigrants from Italy. They are also second-generation restaurateurs, so one could say that the enthusiasm and passion for events and good food runs in the family. They operate their business on an ethos of sustainability, providing menus with fresh flavors. They strive to source from food vendors that obtain their produce and meat through ethical means. These values carry over into their operations at Metropolitan Ballroom & Clubroom. At Metropolitan Ballroom & Clubroom you can celebrate your nuptials with gatherings between 20 and 1100 people. Antique-style chandeliers hang from the ceiling and you and your guests can dance on gorgeous wood floors. The DJ or band can perform on a stage that is situated before a dance floor. Sound and lighting systems help to maximize use of the space. Outside, your guests can avail of the parking, which is free of charge and plentiful. Food is provided by D’Amico Catering with a variety of menus to choose from. To help you tie your event together, the company also employs event planners. These services and individuals assist you in making the most of the ballroom for a wedding to remember year after year.

Hidden gem just outside the Twin Cities. We had our wedding here in February of 2023 and still get compliments on the venue (recently remodeled) and the food. A few reasons I didn’t give 5 starts & things to know if you book with them: - I wouldn’t recommend working with Krista as your event planner. Many missed details and poor communication. I would recommend Bre. - Overall communication between the actual event planner you work with before hand & the day of coordinator/day of event staff is minimal & frustrating. There were only two planning meetings accounted for prior to our wedding which is crazy & I had to proactively reach out to set up additional calls. - Quiet a few details were missed on the day of the wedding & as the bride it was frustrating when it’s a day you just want to go smoothly. A few missed details that stood out.. 1) There were multiple vanities & mirrors available when we toured the venue but they weren’t there the day of the venue. We had 1 mirror when getting ready & the staff had to scramble to find a second 2) we were originally told the wooded are could not seat 200 guests (they said max 180) so we spent $800 to outsource a temporary wall. When we first arrived at the venue, all of the chairs were set up & when I talked to the staff they said they had seating for 200 & we didn’t need the wall. 3) The head table was set up incorrectly & I had to have them fix it. 4) During dinner, the event manager asked me what tables parents were sitting at. I thought this was odd because I had already filled out a sheet saying which tables were VIP & who should eat first after us (which was more than just the parent tables). My brothers table should’ve eaten right away & ended up eating last. - All in all these little things aren’t the end of the world, but when you have planned for them, communicated them, reminded the venue of them, it’s really frustrating when you show up day of and these things have clearly not been communicated.

The Met is definitely a hidden gem of a venue in the Twin Cities! My husband and I got married there in January and it was absolutely stunning. We had a magical day! The venue was recently remodeled and it’s just beautiful. Everything went smoothly and the team at D’Amico was helpful and responsive. The location is great and super easy for both local and out of town guests to get to.

We cannot speak highly enough of our experience with the Metropolitan and D'amico! From beginning to end, this was the best company to work with. The food was absolutely delicious, we were able to create a 100% customized menu with various stations. We also had the BEST cake I have ever had (marble with caramel filling - I usually do not like sweets but LOVED this cake), and mini donuts on all of the tables for desserts. The waitstaff was also excellent from beginning to end, they made sure that my husband and I were able to eat and drink throughout the entire evening. Our event planner was named Kristen Zwieg, and she was amazing. WE LOVED THE METROPOLITAN AND DAMICO!

Our daughter's wedding and reception were held at the Metropolitan in June. We couldn't have been more pleased. Our event coordinator, Christie, was exceptional. She answered all our questions quickly and provided very helpful suggestions to logistical challenges. The on-site coordinator the day of the wedding, Audrey, was wonderful as well. She and her staff were very attentive to all of our - and our guests - needs. The food was phenomenal. Our guests still talk about how delicious the food and the wedding cake was and how the service was unbelievable. We did drape the ceiling in both the wedding and the reception space, which added to the ambiance of the Metropolitan. We highly recommend this venue. We couldn't have been more pleased.

The Metropolitan's Clubroom was an amazing venue for our small wedding (85 guests). The dark wood, the multi-level spaces, the stage and dance floor - all created the perfect atmosphere for our ceremony and reception. Our event coordinator was very responsive and detail-oriented; she was a delight to work with. The food (catered by D'Amico) was excellent - we got compliments all night long. We couldn't be happier with how it all turned out! We would highly recommend this venue.

My husband and I LOVED working with The Met. Our coordinator was amazing and made sure all our needs were met before the wedding. The staff during our reception was kind and helpful. We felt our wedding went off without a hitch. The Metropolitan is large and can hold a large number of people comfortably (we had about 350 seated guests for dinner). We had live music during our reception and the space was perfect for sound AND dancing! The food was delicious (one of the reasons we looked there) and the space was unique. We would highly recommend this space.

We had our ceremony and reception at the Metropolitan Ballroom and Clubroom. The venue is gorgeous, and our guests absolutely loved it. Damico caters at this venue, and the food was amazing, and the service wonderful. The supervisor of the reception staff looked after me, my husband and family the entire evening. The venue has amazing ambiance if you want something that has a really classic feel.

We recently had our wedding reception here, the food was amazing and all our guests raved about it. We had just shy of 300 people and still had enough room for people to move around without feeling crowded. Large dance floor and stage which is perfect for a band. At some point the bathrooms could be updated a bit but there are enough to accomodate the amount of guests we had. Overall our guests raved they had a wonderful time and the venue looked beautiful!
