Mirbeau Inn & Spa

Be warned – Mirbeau does NOT fulfill contractual obligations. They are known to cancel signed contracts outright if they think they can find a more profitable customer than you, even after you’re technically locked in the process. I did not expect such poor customer service, nor did I anticipate such unprofessionalism coming from an establishment like this. Who knew contracts could just be cancelled by venues on a whim and what is the point of a one then, if there is no protection for the customer? I am writing this with the hope that no others have to experience the shock and disappointment that my family and I had to as a result of what seems to be new management there. We found out the hard way that even if Mirbeau initially deems your party worthy enough at the onset to initiate a contract, they will make sure to nickel and dime you at every step when putting it together. They take no accountability for when they make mistakes with contract details on their end and instead will outright cancel the contract, even if you, as the customer, point out their objective mistakes. Luckily, there are plenty of other options in town for events (venues with nicer ambiance, might I add; Mirbeau is a bit run down & the event/inn rooms are dark/musty – also, it’s refreshing to find other places that provide MUCH better customer service)! Throughout the whole transaction with Mirbeau, I kept forgetting that we were the customers in the situation (and it should never be that way). Happy to have been able find a much better alternative to Mirbeau since then and am passing along this message in hopes of saving others from having to endure a similar experience!

I cannot sing the praises of the events and wedding coordinator, Lindsey, at the Mirbeau enough!!! I have never really thrown a party let alone have any idea how to make a wedding come together. Lindsey made it so easy with all of her help. For as stressful as weddings can be this was not at all and people kept wondering how I could be so calm all throughout the process and I told them I was just so secure trusting in Lindsey and the Mirbeau. She helped me keep track of what information I needed to provide or what to find out and what questions to ask and when I needed to know things by and it never felt rushed or overwhelming. She helped me find an officiant and my hair and makeup from their trusted vendor list and all of the vendors the Mirbeau partnered with (the cake and desserts and flowers) were amazing. People couldn't believe I booked my wedding without ever having been to the Mirbeau before, or eaten there or knew for sure what my flowers would look like. But I just trusted the process and all of the vendors did a phenomenal job of following my reference photos and I couldn't have been more pleased. All of our guests were absolutely blown away by the Mirbeau. Of course everything was absolutely lovely and the reception was set up beautifully. I had a small 25 person "micro" wedding, but I always felt as if I were treated just as importantly as if I had a huge wedding. All of my experiences at the Mirbeau from my stay, bachelorette dinner, wedding, spa services, and breakfast the final day all had exceptional customer service in common. There were so many little touches and accommodations that made the whole weekend so memorable and magical. Some examples include, allowing my friends to bring in a homemade apple pie for the bachelorette dinner, all the little notes from housekeeping congratulating us on our wedding, housekeeping taking the time to save all the rose petals from the turndown service on our wedding night in a bag in the fridge for us in case we wanted to keep them (they are now dried out and in my wedding memory box), Chris (the head server? not sure the exact title/role) was particularly wonderful taking care of us all night, making sure I always had water (and I was drinking buckets for some reason haha) or anything we needed, folding napkins when anyone got up as a little touch and I loved running into him the next day and getting to thank him again and he was just amazing I don't even have the words for how he helped make the evening special for everyone, and at breakfast our final day I made a joke about the fish begging for food more than any dog I've ever seen and the server brought us out some fish food in some to go sauce containers so that we could both feed the fish and it was just a lovely special unexpected memory for the weekend that I super appreciated. Also can't forget to mention how much I love to live in the aqua terrace and that alone is worth at least a spa day there. Of course you can't beat the gorgeous setting of the Mirbeau from the bridge, water and greenery it is beautiful in any season and they really live up to their Monet inspiration. The ambiance and attentive customer service combined you really can't beat the Mirbeau. Everything from beginning to end was phenomenal and I can't wait to celebrate future anniversaries there.

My husband and I chose Mirabeau for our special day. Besides the beautiful property, flowers, and food, they also have a wonderful staff. Lindsey, Mirbeau’s event coordinator, was a joy to work with. She was prompt in responding to our queries, and met all of our requests. I didn’t have to sweat the small details, and could focus on getting ready for our wedding. It was a relief to not only competent coordinator to rely on, but she was a sweetheart as well. I would definitely recommend Mirbeau, and a huge thanks to their staff.

Mirbeau was the absolute best choice my husband and I could have made for our wedding. The location is breathtaking, the atmosphere is relaxing, yet beautiful and the staff are second to none; specifically their catering and event planning manager, Lindsey. Lindsey was new to Mirbeau when we planned our wedding, but in speaking with her, you would never know. She was refined, knowledgeable, friendly, helpful- and most of extremely responsive to emails and phone calls. Which made the planning process from 4 hours away, SO much smoother. We planned the wedding in a short time frame and Lindsey made our vision and day not only flawlessly happen, but memorable and special. We have visited and stayed at Mirbeau over the last 15 years because of the exceptional service the staff has provided. It is nice to see that as the years pass by, Mirbeau does not waiver in the caliber of service they provide. We cannot wait to visit again soon. Thank you staff and Lindsey for making our wedding the most beautiful day, so far, of our lives!

I would highly recommend working with Mirbeau’s Event Coordinator, Lindsey Baumann, for your wedding - we trusted her with our big day and she delivered. She was new to Mirbeau and took over mid-planning. She made the transition easy. Lindsey is a warm person and on the day-of, her calming presence put us at ease. She was very accommodating, professional, organized, and easy to work with throughout the planning process. Lindsey answered my emails promptly. She was very helpful with the menu as we had to accommodate family members that are vegan and vegetarian. She went as far as to ask the florist to re-do the bouquet to ensure it matched my vision on the day-of the wedding. She went above and beyond to make our wedding a success. Hands down would recommend her!

Lindsey was the perfect wedding planner and coordinator for us at Mirbeau! She was professional, knowledgeable and made everything happen seamlessly taking the stress away from us so we could enjoy the day. 10/10 recommend!

In 2022, my wife and I were married at the beautiful Mirbeau Inn & Spa in Skaneateles, New York. It was undisputedly the best day of our lives and we owe much of the day’s success to the resort and our coordinator, Lindsey Baumann. Unfortunately, my wife and I had to postpone our wedding not once but three times due to the pandemic. When the big weekend finally arrived, the Mirbeau and its professional staff surpassed our expectations. The grounds were beautifully prepared, and the venue made for a perfect garden-themed wedding. That said, I would like to give a special shoutout to our coordinator, Lindsey. Initially, we had a different wedding coordinator, and we luckily gained Lindsey on our team after the coordinator went on maternity leave. She jumped into the role and took over the event flawlessly from start to finish. Initially, one of our fears with a coordinator was that they would be over-controlling and have little attention to detail. Thankfully, Lindsey was the complete opposite. She was beyond accommodating to all of our requests and effortlessly managed the vendors throughout the big day. Our wedding was perfect, thanks to Lindsey and her fantastic team at the Mirbeau. I would highly recommend Lindsey’s professional expertise and the beautiful venue of the Mirbeau.

We had our rehearsal dinner at Mirbeau and also had the bridal party get ready there on the wedding day. It was absolutely perfect. The rehearsal dinner was in the tent outside in August and the gardens were so beautiful. The food, drinks and music provided were great and you couldn't beat the ambiance. Lindsey was so wonderful to work with when coordinating the most magical weekend. Our getting ready day location was very convenient and we had great food and drinks for the girls. I highly recommend Mirbeau. It's one of a kind and truly so beautiful.

2020 has been an interesting year to say the least. However, Nina helped to make our wedding the best way to end this year with a bang! Our initial plans for the wedding were to take place in the Keyes, but as you can well imagine, the current pandemic has forced many unwanted changes on pretty much everyone you meet. We were no exception to this, giving us very little planning time. Nina was exceptionally accommodating and on top of her game. From the beautiful ceremony in the Mirbeau room to the absolutely stunning pictures (even in December) outside, to the perfectly planned and executed dinner/reception in the Provence room. Every guest, at some point came up to me and expressed their amazement of how wonderful everything was and how attentive our servers were. I also need to add that the food was OUT OF THIS WORLD! I highly recommend having your wedding here, we would do it all over again....in a heartbeat!

I have given this review a lot of thought. Our wedding was 7/20/19. My husband had worked at the Skaneateles Mirbeau for many years and it was one of our special places. The morning of the wedding, my aunt (who is known to make gorgeous wedding cakes) dropped off the large 3-tiered wedding cake with the bakery. The kitchen staff refused to let her use the fridge space because “our flowers for the centerpieces were taking up too much room in there”. Keep in mind the kitchen ovens were on and the weather outside was 92+ degrees. Later in the day, at the beginning of the reception, I noticed that half our centerpieces were missing from the tables. Mirbeau staff had forgotten to put the rose pedals around the center flowers on each table and the mound of rose pedals on the head table under the “Mr & Mrs.” Sign. The head table was supposed to have a trail of pedals from the center piece sign trickling all the way down the table around the other flowers. Forgetting these pedals made our centerpieces appear skimpy. By the time I noticed, the staff told me it was too late to put them out and they would do a rose pedal turn down on our bed instead (that they later tried to charge us for, even though they were our pedals). It was around this time during cocktail hour that my mother-in-law had to go around and fix the tables because they were missing chairs and guest place cards. When it came time for the meal, the starter salads did not come out as they were during the tasting. The “berry salad” that was supposed to be strawberries and raspberries had only blueberries. They forgot an entire tray of butternut squash ravioli for the vegetarians, and the meats did not come out at the same time so some guests missed the turkey all together. Dinner was at the very least a distraction from the 5-minute thunderstorm that passed through and knocked out all the power. The wedding coordinator didn’t even wait 20 minutes to ask us if we wanted to cancel the rest of the reception and “go to the pub in town”. I was appalled. She said they did not have a generator to fix the power issue. Luckily, a guest that lived nearby had a generator at their home and saved the day. We could at least have music and dance since the reception was being held outside in the daylight. Inside however, there were no emergency lights in the building and older guests were worried they might fall and hurt themselves when going to the bathroom. Lastly, when it was time for the cake, they dropped the gorgeous cake my aunt made. My aunt was in tears and none of the guests were able to see the cake, only the topper they “saved”. They managed to save enough cake for each guest to have a slice, but this was absolutely not the “picture worthy” cake cutting I had in mind. If it wasn’t for the amazing DJ, wonderful guests, and the fact I was marrying my best friend, our wedding would have been completely ruined. They offered us a 30% refund, but showed literally no remorse for the poor quality of care and heartache they caused. I had to literally request them to send my aunt a day pass to try and make it up to her. She still refuses to talk about that day.

Kaycee and Meg are absolute ANGELS ! They helped make a small 10 person wedding in Rhinebeck NY a dream come true. Everything was perfect and staff could not be more welcoming and sweet. The food was AMAZING, we are still talking about the best Short Ribs we have ever have. Every dish was exquisite and the pastry chef whipped up a gorgeous 3 level cake which tasted as good as it looked! We will forever remember their kindness and flexibility during this difficult time for so many brides and grooms.

My husband and I just eloped at the Mirbeau as we were one of the many couples affected by COVID-19. I cannot even express how perfect our day was and this was because of the staff at Mirbeau. Kate Slade made the whole planning process unbelievably easy and stress free. Their dining room manager is who served us our (private!!) dinner and he was phenomenal. We cannot recommend the Mirbeau enough. Our day was easy, stress free, and beautiful.

We are so happy to have booked both our ceremony and reception at Mirbeau. Not only is the venue absolutely beautiful, but the staff and wedding coordinator (Kate Slade) were absolutely awesome to work with on all fronts.

Stunning grounds, great food, & excellent service makes Mirbeau an amazing wedding venue. The staff & the wedding coordinators are super knowledgable & accommodating to any requests that we had. It's a perfect venue for a wedding of 80 people or so (their capacity). Would highly recommend this venue for people looking to get married in the Upstate NY area.

We could not have picked a better location for our wedding! The grounds of Mirbeau itself are breathtaking. We got married June of 2018, in the middle of their peak peony bloom. It was absolutely incredible to walk through the gardens to the Monet bridge to get married. We worked with two staff members (Kate & Kate) and they were both amazing. Always prompt to respond to questions and willing to meet in person if we wanted a tour. The rest of the staff is also incredibly attentive throughout the weekend, from the spa attendants to the waitstaff in the restaurant. The Monet Deck can only hold up to 80 guests, which was perfect for the intimate wedding both my husband and I wanted. I really would not change anything about our wedding day and a large part of that was due to Mirbeau being just perfection.

The bridal party got ready here and we stayed the night of our wedding. The staff is so accommodating and friendly. Yes, prices are expensive but the spa treatments are well worth it. This is a place of luxury and relaxation with amazing views for pictures and getting ready on the patio. Definitely recommend for a weekend escape, weddings, and amazing food!

It was not only a beautiful wedding venue, but the staff made sure that we were at ease and were not stressing out about the last minute details and they took care of everything that we needed! Everything was wonderful! They really think of the little details, right down to following the bridal party around with hors d'oeuvres while you are taking pictures to make sure that you are feed as well as your guests! Everything was amazing I am so happy we went with this venue!

I cannot say enough about Mirbeau as a wedding venue. The wedding coordinator Nina is an expert. I am not from the area and had absolute confidence in her planning skills. Everything was perfect on our wedding day and the pictures are stunning. Many of my guests commented that it was the most beautiful wedding venue they had ever seen. Mirbeau is a magical, like a figment of my dreams. My guests that stayed a Mirbeau will remember and talk about that weekend for years.

We were married at the Mirbeau Inn & Spa in September 2016, and had an amazing all-around experience that exceeded all of our expectations. The venue is absolutely beautiful, and is perfect for an intimate, yet first-class wedding experience. Many of our guests have since told it was one of the best weddings they have ever attended. Nina Vitale, Mirbeau's event coordinator, was an absolute pleasure to work with and did an amazing job planning our event . She is incredibly detail-oriented and was very responsive to all of our questions and requests along the way. By the time the event came around, we were certain that we had covered all possible contingencies. The entire staff at Mirbeau was friendly and helpful and made sure our event was perfect and memorable. I highly recommend Mirbeau Inn & Spa, and look forward to visiting in the future.

Relaxing, beautiful, amazing venue for an intimate wedding!

I highly recommend Mirbeau as a wedding venue. They went beyond our expectations and the day could not have been more perfect!

I was married at Mirbeau on 10/17/15. Everything was perfect, the venue itself is picturesque and since the garden is so well maintained, I can't imagine that it ever looks bad. The temperature was mid-thirties and they still allowed us to get married outside. They also allowed our dog to be part of the wedding! Prior to the wedding, I worked with Nina, their wedding planner, she is great to work with and often answers questions before you think of them. Mirbeau has a few options for receptions, since we were only having a small wedding, we had our reception inside in the Provence room (which worked out since it was freakishly cold). They do have an outside venue for larger parties. While we were inside we had a served dinner, and they have a pastry chef that made the wedding cake! We just sent them a photo and it showed up! I really can not give anything but praise. This venue was amazing, the reception was amazing, food was amazing, the staff and of course Nina were just amazing. Everything was simply perfect, my family loved it. If you have particular questions I'd be happy to try to answer any, but you would not be remiss to contact nina at Mirbeau.

My husband and I were married on July 11,2015 and both our wedding ceremony (on Mirbeau's beautiful blue bridge) and reception were held at Mirbeau Inn and Spa. I would highly recommend this wedding venue to anyone that wants a high class wedding for a smaller amount of guests. Our coordinator (Nina) made sure our wedding was perfect. The staff at Mirbeau decorated the venue exactly how I had dreamed of and the food and service was absolutely amazing. The wedding was flawless. Many of our guests came up to me at the wedding and said "This was the best wedding I've ever been to." and "This is the best wedding food I've ever had." The wedding was also described as a "Fairytale" by numerous guests. We have Nina and the staff and beauty of Mirbeau Inn and Spa to thank for that. Please consider this beautiful venue if you have a smaller guest list. I am so happy that we chose Mirbeau. It was the intimate romantic garden wedding that I had always dreamed of.

Mirbeau was the perfect setting for our mid-May wedding which was a second marriage for both of us. The ceremony only involved us (the groom and myself the bride) and our 5 20-something year old children. The staff at Mirbeau was very attentive and had the perfect balance of being available and helpful, but not being invasive. From the beginning Nina, the event coordinator was responsive and informative about details and, because we aren't local Skaneateles citizens, helping us find local a florist, photographer, and hair stylist services. Nina personally oversaw the details of accommodations, too. We were fortunate that the weather permitted us to have our ceremony outside in the Monet garden, but Nina had worked with us during the planning stages to find a second choice location for the ceremony that the inn would have used to accommodate us if we had to be under cover. Mirbeau is a beautiful and special location. It was perfect for our little wedding party of 7 because we started the day with spa treatments and enjoyed the hot tub and meditation room. Everyone was relaxed and happy - the day went just as we hoped. My overall rating would be 4.5 stars.

My wife and I had an absolutely lovely private wedding ceremony at the Mirbeau Inn and Spa in May 2015 - just us and our five combined kids. Everything was perfect, from the spa treatments (with all seven of us in bathrobes together!), to the ceremony on the romantic Monet bridge in the backyard, to our overnight stay at the inn. Our Mirbeau wedding coordinator Nina was a total delight; she made the entire wedding day run smoothly and easily. Thank you so much for a memorable wedding. We will certainly return for our anniversary next year!

Former French teacher, engaged in Paris, wed at Mirbeau; idyllic French inn modeled after Monet's gardens at Giverny. My family has been enjoying Mirbeau for years - it was my first and only choice for our wedding. The entire staff is wonderful, yet it's the Event Manager who helps the whole team shine. Nina is the true miracle worker - she remembers every detail and request (large and small) with ease and a sincere smile. While the small/intimate capacity was limiting we wouldn't have changed a thing because no detail was spared. The food was excellent (filet and salmon), and the wine selection was also wonderful. 5 star service from a 5 star venue! We can't wait to go back and remember our wedding every time we return!

We cannot speak more highly of Mirbeau! We loved the venue as soon as we stepped onto the property…but after meeting the staff, we knew that this was the place for us! The venue was beautiful, the food was amazing, the cake was flawlessly done, the staff was professional and accommodating…our day ended up being more perfect than we could have possibly imagined!

I was married in June 2014 and could not have imaged a better day. Nina, the wedding coordinator is truly a pleasure to work with. From the months leading up to my wedding until the day of, I never felt like I had to worry about something getting accomplished or organized. She took care of EVERYTHING, and was incredibly calm and professional during all of it. The venue cannot be beat when it comes to beauty and elegance. Everyone raved about the food, alcohol selection,desserts, and staff. While Mirbeau is more expensive than other venues, I whole heartily believe it is/was worth every penny.

Getting married on Mirbeau's bridge was a dream come true!! Everyone was so helpful and really made the day special. We loved the rooms!! It was a great time!
