We were so lucky to have found Megan to help us plan our wedding! We enlisted her help at the very beginning as I did not have any idea where to start. I also was starting grad school and I knew I would need the help. She totally brought our vision to life! She made the process completely stress free and it was super fun and enjoyable. Everyone couldn't believe how relaxed I was, and I credited that to Megan for how seamless everything went not only leading up to the wedding but throughout the wedding weekend and on the big day. I knew that everything would be taken care of and I was right. The wedding was an absolute dream and we received so many comments letting us know that it was the best wedding they had been to! Megan totally helped us make our dream wedding a reality. If anyone is in need of an excellent wedding planner, look no further than Megan and Austin Affair!
My husband and I met during the 48 Hour Film Project, and Megan was part of the team we were on. My first glimpse of her ability to put on an event was at our wrap party, and though it was informal, her attention to detail caught my attention. Over the course of our relationship, Megan did coordination for the weddings of two pairs of friends. We were so impressed that she was the first person we contacted when we started planning our own wedding. My mom is in the hospitality industry, and regularly plans weddings and events. My initial reason for hiring Megan was to ensure that my mom wouldn't feel the need to work on our wedding day. We used her for Day Of Coordination, and met with her three times before the big day. She helped us with design ideas, and even offered us advice on how to find non-conventional vendors. Megan coordinated all of our vendors' schedules, made schedules for my husband and I, as well as schedules for our wedding party. She and her team are amazing; I saw them helping with the bartenders and caterer throughout the night, they helped to set up our gift and guestbook tables, and kept the party moving along through the end of the night. Because of her attention to detail and ability to wrangle such a large wedding party, our night went off without a hitch (that I know of.) I think that the most important point to mention is that you know you've found someone great when you can't recall any hiccups or upsets from the night. Megan and her team definitely made sure our night was the best we could have had. I'd recommend her and her team to anyone!
WOW. I was lucky enough to connect with Austin Affair founder Megan Moran Cobb in the homestretch of my wedding planning, and what she did for us is beyond words. Thanks to her company, the biggest source of stress, fear and disorganization I'd ever had became a tight-run ship - and a fun, beautiful event that honored our marriage and our tastes more than anything we could've put together on our own.
She was sharp as a tack, creative as hell, firm with our vendors, adorable and charming around our friends and family, and happy to get her hands dirty - hanging decor and scaling ladders one minute, then whooshing in with the relaxed grace of a socialite when the party started.
I cringe to remember how opposed I once was to hiring a wedding planner. Had we called sooner, I believe Austin Affair would've saved us thousands in vendor fees, or at least the equivalent in stress. My whole family agrees (and I'm someone who was raised to shop at Ross). Before Megan took over, I put off a lot of freelance work and job hunting in order to plan this event, so there are real career opportunities I missed that I would've had time to embrace had I just called this friendly dynamo from the START.
She's also just as skilled at planning wild and luxurious bachelor/bachelorette parties and other events. What a pro.
Megan and her associates at Austin Affair were an amazing team, and made me feel calm and cool when the big day finally arived. They were always attentive and responsive when answering our questions.
We had some unique ideas about how we wanted our wedding and reception to go, and they not only were completely on board, but offered up some great ideas that put the perfect finishing touches on our own unique style.
During the night of the wedding, there was some concern from one of our other vendors, but we didn't even notice as Megan and her team were quick to handle the issue and left us to enjoy our evening, undisturbed.
Not to sound like a broken record, but I couldn't be happier with the service we received from Austin Affair. I've already recommended them to another friend of mine, and I'm sure Megan and her team will continue to make weddings here in Austin amazing.
Megan went above and beyond her call of duty when planning my wedding on 9/28/13. I had my own ideas and gave them to her and she created exactly what I wanted. When I showed up to the venue I started to cry because it looked so beautiful. Megan is extremely talented and uses her skills in very creative ways. She helped make my dream wedding come true: outdoors, important details, and overall keeping everyone calm! I highly recommend her services, not only for a wedding, but for other parties too (she helped with our engagement party).
