DELICIOUS! I did not have one complaint for this company. Modern Edge delivered perfection at our wedding. I still have guests talking about how delicious the food was. They went above and beyond to make sure everything was executed correctly and in a timely manner. The bartenders were fun and added to the events fun lively spirit. I tried every beverage I had up on our specialty menu and every one of the drinks were tasty and well done. They also were fast. There was never really a long line the whole wedding night and our families and friends were drinkers. Our cake was VERY VERY good. YUMMY! People were blown away. There was not one terrible tasking item. Service was professional and everything was presented very beautifully. I would definitely recommend this caterer!

Karen at the Modern Edge did a fantastic job at organizing the rehearsal dinner and coordinating the wedding day events. Logistically it was a challenge because we worked with various vendors and the rehearsal dinner, ceremony, cocktail hour and reception dinner were all held in different locations. She and her staff were able to meet the challenge to make the day a success. Guests are still raving! If you want someone who is professional, has expertise in event planning of any type with a great staff, Modern Edge is who you want to hire.

We were extremely disappointed by our experience with this caterer. We hired them for our wedding in July. Initially we were very excited for the menu and felt that they the modern edge was a great value compared to other vendors. They were very pleasant, prompt and seemed professional for the planning stages. However the day of the wedding was anything but. First of all, the catering staff showed up an HOUR late. As a bride the last thing I want to do is worry if the guests were going to have food or not. A simple phone call saying they were running late or were on their way would’ve been the least they could do. I called both the main line and my coordinator and no one answered. We proceeded with the wedding not knowing wether or not we’d have food. The caterers finally showed up just as the ceremony was ending, when the happy hour was supposed to be starting. Instead, two somewhat elderly women showed up and my guests watched (a few helped) as the women struggled to setup the food. Crackers were dumped onto plates and appetizers that were supposed to be passed around were simply put on the table for guests to serve themselves. We ordered equal amounts of chicken and beef but got double the amount of chicken. We also paid extra for potatoes we did not get. Salad dressing was left in plastic to-go type containers. The presentation was awful. Then if that wasn’t bad enough, the two “servers” began coming around and taking plates before guests were done. The overall service and presentation was horrendous. I reached out to my coordinator a few days after the wedding and she finally responded a few days later apologizing that they were late and that there was traffic. It is unacceptable to not contact the client and at least let them know. Furthermore, several guests arrived just before the ceremony began and said they didn’t have any issues with traffic. The coordinator refunded the potatoes we did not receive plus one hour of the “servers” time. This is the absolute bare minimum they should’ve refunded. I cannot recommend The Modern Edge for your catering needs; I suggest that you pay a little more money for a professional caterer.

At first, we were excited to find Modern Edge and created a menu we thought our guest would love. We're sad to say that they were the one vendor we would not hire again from our wedding and it is so disappointing how they handled the situation following our event. 1. Food was cold: As the bride and groom, we were the first ones to get our food and it was cold. Not lukewarm, it was cold. We had other guests comment on it during the night and some even mentioned it still days after the wedding. So embarrassing and we specially stressed during our tasting that hot food was our most important aspect for the food and were told it would be hot. The pasta had congealed and so did the sauce for the steak. 2. Poor customer service: When we contacted the caterer following the event to let them know our disappointment, Karen, the owner, blamed the cold food us being behind schedule, the prayer, a short two minute welcome from the father of the bride, us for not having ordered plate covers to keep the food warm, and the venue (even though she completed a walkthrough with us to see the space before the event and discussed setup with us and the venue coordinator). We were also told we had kept plates in our car and someone had to go get them, which caused a delay. We know two of these reasons to be a lie since we were 15 minutes ahead of schedule when the prayer started and the groom (a detailed project manager) personally delivered the plates, put them in the kitchen, and labeled them for the specific uses. The captain even told us the night of the wedding she was sorry they had misplaced the appetizer plates but found them in the kitchen. We were shocked they took no responsibility and when confronted, did not back down and maintained it was not their fault. We hardly think a short prayer and welcome speech would make food go from warm to flat out cold. We’re not looking for anything in return except for Karen to apologize and take responsibility for the mistakes she and her team made on the night of the event. Instead she blamed everyone else. 3. Nickel and diming after signed contract: We were shocked during our run-through three weeks prior to our wedding, to be told we needed to hire more staff (even though we now had fewer guests than quoted) and that they were charging a cake cutting fee (even though we had specifically asked about cake cutting and were told there was no fee during our initial contracting). In the end, they did not charge us for the cake cutting and changed their staff schedule to stay within the agreed budget. We would love to say we would recommend Modern Edge for another event, but strongly urge you to reconsider. We hope their interactions with other couples and planners are much better than our experience. A few nice things as well: 1. Prior to our event, they were very typically accommodating and joined us for a walkthrough at the venue to get an idea of the space and our vision. 2. They were accommodating for meals for children and a specific dietary need for one of our guest. I felt bad asking, but they took care of this without fuss and that was appreciated.
