Beware! The photos look incredible but they absolutely fall beyond short. We spent 2 weeks calling, messaging and calling more to finally get an appointment to tour the venue. Drove 16 hours and they “lost the appointment” so the event person we spoke to wasn’t able to give a tour.
After they argued about who would do it the sales guy (talked to us like a used car sales guy on a buy here pay here lot) kept pushing his significant other’s wedding coordinator business and refusing to show us ceremony sites until after we toured all of the rental properties they have. Most of the areas were unable to be viewed due to other guests so he kept telling us just look on the website and you can see it but this is it from the road. I repeatedly asked to just see the ceremony sites FIRST then we could discuss property rentals, etc. however, he was dead set on 2 things, creating an all inclusive package (telling us 20-25k was way too little) and renting out as many luxury properties as possible.
They advertise 6k for the venue which only includes a small building without any amenities (catering area, bar, tables, chairs, additional rooms for changing, etc.), a fire pit and a small boardwalk style deck with seating for around 10-15. It is hidden that it is required to rent out all the treehouses or the fish house due to the ceremony sites.
The ceremony sites are literally in the “yard” of one of the treehouses and a cabin without any designation. The tree house site is having guests sit on top of sewage drain caps in a 30x30 approximate space but not to worry “they can remove the picnic table and mow and stuff”. He was adamant about telling us about the nightmare bridal party stories he has had and how even if we rent the entire property and pay the wedding venue fees NO ONE is to be hanging out together amongst properties, taking any photos in ANY location without prior approval, and they are NOT wedding people so do not expect anything or any help from them. They do not even have enough chairs to accommodate what they are offering on their website. Most of the photos on the website are taken at different rentals throughout the property.
Brides beware! Don’t make the same mistake we did! 3 hours of wasted time!! They are trying to be super high end but their complete lack of organization, customer service, and experience with weddings truly shows. What COULD have been an incredible property was the biggest disappointment and irritation. We should have known with the awful communication!
My advice to the owners, invest in an expert that is going to bring your venue up to Par and remove the timeshare sales guy feeling! A small investment would give you a huge return! Your property is gorgeous but weddings were an after thought just thrown on the website for sure!!!!
Norton Creek is nothing short of a magical getaway you won’t forget! The sound of the creek flowing through the property, gorgeous landscape, and the kindest staff. Highly recommend!
