My husband and I could not have imagined a more perfect venue than the Norton for our wedding. Beyond it being one of the most stunning museums of its kind, the team is talented, kind, professional, and fun. In wedding planning, my husband and I quickly learned that what sets vendors apart from each other is not only the service they provide, but the enthusiasm they bring to your special day. The Norton team epitomized that. They made sure we felt taken care of in the year leading up to the wedding and on our big day, and made sure every detail was perfect. The entire day flowed smoothly and we didn’t have think about a thing thanks to their expertise and professionalism. If there were any hiccups, we definitely weren’t aware!
There were ample spaces at the museum to choose from for our getting ready moments, cocktail hour, and reception. When it rained on our wedding day, the team quickly and seamlessly pivoted the cocktail hour to an indoor space, which turned out even more beautiful than I had imagined the outdoor version would be!
The museum itself provides a spectacular backdrop for photos, and our guests were in awe of the space. Highly recommend renting out the galleries for an hour during the cocktail hour - it's an added cost but our guests LOVED getting to explore as a unique wedding experience.
The Norton’s network of vendors is also incredible. Constellation Caterers are above and beyond the most incredible catering company, and we couldn’t have been more thrilled with their food and service for our wedding. Many of our guests said they had never had better food at a wedding. The servers and team made us feel so special and taken care of, and extended that to our families and friends, which really made a difference. The day after our wedding we couldn’t stop talking about how incredible they were, and all of our friends said the same thing. The Norton also recommended our wedding planner to us (who had worked with them many times before) so everything felt super cohesive and aligned. Recommend doing this if you can!
When working with the Norton, given that it is a museum, you are required to hire their preferred A/V vendor, even for minimal A/V needs. This was pricier than we expected BUT the lighting and A/V quality was phenomenal. We hadn’t expected the lighting to make such a difference but it really did, and they did a great job shifting it as the evening went on. So the money was well spent, but worth being aware of.
Overall - we couldn’t recommend the Norton more! Wish we could do it all over again!
The Norton is everything my husband and I dreamed of and more in a wedding venue! Every aspect and area of the museum is not only gorgeous, but fits the idea of what you may be looking for. All of the staff at the museum are amazing to work with and the memories from our wedding we will cherish forever!! Highly recommend the Norton for your wedding!!
The Norton is an incredibly beautiful wedding venue! We absolutely LOVE all the photos we have from there and our guests had the best time and talked about how amazing the venue was! Our experience with Alex (the initial event planner we worked with) and Emily (the catering representative) was FANTASTIC! We absolutely loved those two! They were super responsive and attentive and just a joy to work with! Our day-of representative fell a little short - we felt sort of on our own that day upon arrival to the venue and didn't really know who to turn to. I would still highly recommend the venue but would want people to go in with eyes wide open. The venue is a flat $20,000 rental, plus they have exclusive contracts with catering and lighting. Catering was INCREDIBLE - truly the food was outstanding. It was quite expensive, but they were incredible and I'd say worth it. The lighting/sound guys didn't do anything wrong and they were really nice to work with, but pretty outrageously expensive for what we needed. We had vendors lined up who were able to do the work at less than half the price, but needed to go with their vendor. Overall I would still absolutely recommend this venue - it was sooo beautiful and such a cool spot for a wedding!! Just wanting people to go in with eyes open!
We had our wedding at the Norton and had the most incredible evening. Our guests were blown away by the unique venue. The service was impeccable and it was a pleasure to work with all of the staff at the norton. I would recommend this venue to anyone looking to get married in an art museum !
The Norton Museum of Art was an absolutely dream venue for our wedding! There are so many unique and STUNNING spaces to choose from for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception with indoor and outdoor options. They also have a beautiful bridal suite that is perfect for a large bridal party. Alexandra and the entire team at The Norton are experts in event planning and went above and beyond to offer valuable insight and paid extra attention to every detail to ensure our wedding was perfect. We had a large wedding with many moving parts including location changes, last minute guest list changes, several vendors, kids, and a wild reception— this team handled it flawlessly and were so kind and enthusiastic. Thank you Alexandra and The Norton team, our wedding was truly a dream come true because of you!
Everything was done to perfection! The space, staff and food couldn’t have been better.
Lovely venue and team! Worked with me every step of the way to ensure flawless execution.
Truly a beautiful location for our event! The space is so unique - our guests really enjoyed the venue and it provided many great opportunities for our photographer to capture some amazing photos that I'm sure we will treasure for a long time. Both the indoor and outdoor spaces were gorgeous and perfect for our event. On the day of the wedding, the Norton staff was present and actively working to make sure the day went according to plan. Everything went smoothly and it was a wonderful event.
We did have a few smaller issues with the Norton that are worth noting. Despite the significant upfront cost for the event space, we felt that Norton team was often trying to "nickel and dime" us throughout the process. For example, their valet package was offered at a cost that was almost 2x what we were able to easily get from another high-end vendor. When we asked to use a screen in a hallway (just to upload some photos for guests to see on their way from the cocktail hour to the reception), we were told it would be an incremental $500 cost. The catering team (that the Norton required us to use) also unexpectedly increased their prices after we were locked in with the venue. Finally, be sure to ask about Frost A/V before signing a contract with the Norton - that was an extra few thousand dollars we weren't expecting to spend!
All in all, I would certainly recommend the Norton as an event venue! We had a beautiful day and the team was very kind and competent. Just expect some additional costs and fees to pop up throughout the process.
Having our wedding reception at the Norton was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding! It was an incredible experience from start to finish. Alex, the events director was brilliant to work with, being professional, fun and clearly knows the space and how to do the event well. It was a beautiful venue and there were staff on hand at all times to help with whatever we needed, while not intruding on the party either. You won't regret choosing the Norton for your special day!
