We had the most magical wedding at this venue. The venue coordinator Sarah was amazing to work with and went above and beyond. They worked with our budget and we had our wedding outside and the day couldn’t have gone better.
I knew Oak Creek Golf Club was the one when my husband and I toured it for the first time. It was an absolute dream to walk into a property that had a warm welcoming path into the back where I would find a beautiful open view of the sky surrounded by greenery, clean cut landscaping, well lit event lawn, and an elegant pergola. Of course, there were more factors to consider before actually securing our spot with Oak Creek Golf Club, such as communication, flexibility, and food and beverages.
Communication was perfect. Initially, we worked with Samantha Froelich when we were researching venues. Her friendly personality, quick response time, and detailed support through email and direct contact helped us to move forward with our decision. She followed up with us right after to thank us for considering the venue and again a few weeks after our tour to remind us what she could do to help bring our dream wedding to life. After we secured our wedding date with Oak Creek Golf Club(OCGC) for May 26, 2018 for 300 guests, we continued to communicate with Samantha for a little while. About 9 months before our wedding, Sarah Gamble took over as our venue representative. We were nervous at first because we had discussed a lot of details with Samantha, but again, the communication was perfect. We scheduled an appointment to meet with Sarah and everything was carried over without a problem. Sarah went above and beyond our expectations to make everything flow without added stress. She made sure to answer our million questions in a reasonable amount of time, customized our wedding package so that our wedding was what we imagined it to be, went food tasting with us to take notes, and nailed everything at our wedding that was promised during the planning process. On top of that, she drew out layouts of every section of our wedding day and provided us with a detailed spreadsheet for entrées, allergies, and seating assignments. She continued to support us on our big day by providing us with our own set of hors D'oeuvres and water during down time. We were so lucky to have worked with such a hardworking, bubbly person.
OCGC provided us with flexible options to make things work for us. They allowed us to drop off our wedding inventory the night of our rehearsal and also to use the Heritage Room for our morning Tea Ceremony
and set it up to fit our needs. For our reception, they allowed homemade desserts for the dessert table and rearranged tables from our package to have a dessert table and a separate
cake table. These little things were big things for us.
Food and beverages were by far the most complimented parts of our wedding. Our hors D'oeuvres, which included baby lamb with pesto, crab cakes with Lemon aioli, stuffed mushrooms, and ahi poke, were a delightful start to our wedding. Our guests loved each of the items that day and continued to compliment us days and weeks after our wedding. The bartenders served tasty non-alcoholic/alcoholic drinks and our signature cocktails. The Tuscan lemonade and Caribbean punch were the favorites. Our dinner entrées (braised short ribs and stuffed chicken) were also complimented even days after the wedding; they were said to be the best duo entrée dishes that our guests have ever had.
Not a single guest complained about the tasting throughout the night!
I highly recommend OCGC for a wedding venue. My husband and I are completely satisfied and are grateful for everything that Sarah and the staff did for us.
Oak Creek was the perfect venue for our wedding on June 10th, 2017. The venue itself is gorgeous and provides the perfect indoor/outdoor feel we wanted for our wedding. We had our ceremony outside under the beautiful dark wood pergola with white drapery and against all of the greenery in the background, it made for a beautiful ceremony site. I love that the venue is not spread out at all so guests do not need to walk far for the cocktail hour or reception. We had our reception inside the heritage room and the large patio still provides plenty of outdoor space for guests to enjoy. The architecture of the buildings only adds to the beauty of this venue.
Sarah was absolutely amazing. From day one when we toured the venue, she answered any and all questions we had and was very easy to contact via email or phone with any additional questions. During the planning process, she was always on the ball with everything that needed to be done and we had several in person meetings to discuss everything in addition to countless emails back and forth. The menu tasting went very smoothly and she even helped arranged a time for my husband and I, along with our photographer, to scout out picture locations around the venue as a golf cart is provided following the ceremony for the bride and groom to take pictures around the golf course. With how scenic the venue is, it was not at all hard to find beautiful picture locations. Since we did not have a wedding planner, having Sarah to turn to for questions or advice was great as she has a lot of knowledge when it comes to wedding planning. She ran our rehearsal for us and served as our day of coordinator at the wedding and everything went off perfectly.
Overall, I would highly recommend Oak Creek to any couple looking for a golf club/country club feel for their wedding. The entire staff was amazing and everything was perfect for our wedding day.
Our Oak Creek wedding was a DREAM. Everything absolutely exceeding our expectations. My husband and I, our families, and friends had a blast and loved the venue, food, drinks, vendors, DJ, dancing. We want to thank Oak Creek/Lorrie and her team for making this an enjoyable process for us. Lorrie is very experienced in the wedding and event industry, I knew I could trust her insight on any questions I had. She never disappointed and I was only continuously impressed by her. Thank you, Lorrie, for making our dreams come true and more.
My husbands love golfing and I love the winery/spanish look and feel so Oak Creek was a perfect venue for us. I wanted a venue that was inclusive to avoid coordinating with a bunch of vendors since I did not have a wedding planner. Lorrie was extremely helpful and even worked with us when guests dropped out last minute. She rearranged our catering to include a late night meal since our guest count had dropped us under the minimum catering requirement. She even ran our rehearsal because our officiant was unable to make our rehearsal. The whole day was seamless and stress free. We got a bonus certificate for 2 free rounds of golf which my husband really appreciated because it is a really nice course! Overall I would recommend this venue if you like this "look" and want a location that will handle all rentals and catering seamlessly!
Oak Creek was a wonderful venue. Tables, fruitwood chairs for the ceremony and nice ballroom chairs for the reception and linens were included, making rentals unnecessary. Food was phenomenal for the price. Very flexible bar and wait staff. Wedding contacts occasionally took a few days to get back to email requests, but they did not go unanswered. The team was patient and very nice. Totally willing to help work with your vision.
This place is beautiful!! Exactly what I had in mind. I got married in September during a time when it was extremely hot and all of a sudden it would rain. I wanted a location where it was have both a good indoor hall and outdoor and this place had that exactly. You enter and it looks like such a grand hall with a beautiful light up tree at the entrance. When looking into the different packages I had an option of upgrading my chairs but I didn't need to. The chairs that are included are beautiful and comfortable. They just redid their arch for ceremony, it is a beautiful wooden arch. The outdoor patio where my wedding was held was flat,even color grass. There is a bush all around the patio separating the rest of the golf course and the wedding, creating a private feeling and at night they have hanging lights that light up the whole place. The food was so delicious. I was provided with different options of food and for my tasting I got to taste the different ideas I was debating between. If you do not end up having your wedding at this location, I recommend just eating at the cafe. The only problem I had was it was a bit hard getting a hold of the coordinators at times, but I learned to just email both at a time and if one can't respond another should.
Once we picked Oak Creek everything went off without a hitch! It was the most perfect venue in every way. Lorrie and her team are amazing- throughout the planning processes, the food tasting, and the day of they pulled out all of the stops for everything. They did a perfect job on the wedding, everything was perfect, the decor, the table placements, the food was delicious, the ceremony, the vendors, and everything else was literally perfect. I could not have asked for anything more and I would 100% recommend this venue. We did our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception all outside in June and it was great!
So it is a golf course which means it is gonna be beautiful because it is super green. However, the architecture of the buildings sets it apart and the landscape truly is breathtaking especially right at sunset! The venue itself was able to host our ceremony and reception which included a guest list of around 220 people. Lorrie and Sarah are wonderful to work with and truly want to make the venue work for you. Oh and the food is SO good! We got lots of compliments on that alone! One thing I wish we could have done was sparklers and the curfew for the city of Irvine as far as music goes is 10 pm but it was such a wonderful wedding regardless! Wouldn't have changed places if we had the chance :)
As someone who works in "the industry" I have been to hundreds of weddings and been a part of many events. So when my sister in law got married, I was witness to many of the dealings with the venue. The happy couple was continually frustrated with the lack of communication in the months and weeks leading up to the event resulting in dropped details (including the bouquet toss!), non-coordinating linens (samples given months in advance and then finalized a scant 8 days before the wedding), and she was even late getting to the venue the day of the wedding. During the event, the pretty sizable bar budget was exceeded and the couple was never informed -the bar stayed open resulting in the couple being presented with almost double the expected tab at the end of the night. What a way to finish your wedding night.
The venue itself is beautiful - lots of great photo locations and the room is perfect for a wedding from 100-120 people. The bride's room for getting ready is VERY small, be prepared. Because it is a public course, you will deal with golfers and golf carts meandering through your event. Although they kept them at bay during the ceremony, they were present during pictures, cocktail and reception.
Food was excellent; but with the lack of coordination, it's impossible to give this venue a 5 star rating. No couple should go into their wedding day wondering if any detail was being missed, and with the lack of returned emails and phone calls this was the case. If you choose this venue, you might consider your own coordinator who can give you the personal attention your event deserves.
we had 160 people at our wedding and it was a little snug in the room. I would suggest only have a wedding size of 130 or less if you are thinking of booking this venue
