My husband and I had our wedding at Oak Hill last month, and they did an amazing job! Becky and her family were so kind and accommodating when we had to change our wedding date due to COVID in 2020. The day of our wedding went smoothy, and the venue is beautiful! I got so many compliments on the venue and how helpful and nice the staff was. I highly recommend Oak Hill!

Wow, wow, wow. Oak Hill is amazing! The venue is absolutely stunning and Becky and her staff are phenomenal. Like many others, we had planned a larger wedding and then Covid hit and we needed to postpone and downsize our guest list. Becky was so understanding and flexible, and worked with us the whole way. She is super fast at communicating while you're planning, and has lots of great suggestions. On the day of our wedding, Becky and her staff were amazing, making sure everything ran absolutely smoothly. They even added a few extra props/elements that I hadn't thought of to make what I had envisioned look even better. Highly, highly recommend!

I don't even know where to start! My now husband Jason and I toured Oak hill in May of 2019. Let me tell you, the pictures do not do it justice as it is far more beautiful in person! We were blown away from the moment we stepped onto the property. Becky was so helpful and informative from day 1. We booked right away! Fast forward through almost a year of planning anddd COVID hit. We decided to push our May 2020 wedding to July, and then our July wedding to May 2021. Becky was incredibly helpful and honestly soothing our worries during this time. Other than the date, nothing changed! This venue is the best bang for your buck! We loved how they had a ton of items whether for free or for rent, which meant less to bring and take home to figure out what to do with. Becky made it so easy with the checklist to list out each little detail, and her team set everything up just the way we wanted. On the day of, it felt like we had nothing to do which was AMAZING! Our guests had so much fun. There is so much to see and do that they were never bored! They updated the pavilion since we originally toured and I can't begin to tell you how magical it feels. Our guests kept talking about how beautiful and what a rare gem it is. I could go on and on, but all I can tell you is to GO SEE IT! Book it! You will not regret it.

There truly is no way to describe how beautiful our wedding was. We booked our wedding just under 2 years in advance. Becky was AMAZING to work with. She made sure emails went out at the right times and payments came through at the correct times. She is such a genuine person and truly cares about your wedding day. Oak hill is such a gorgeous venue. They have so many different places to get married on site. We were able to bring our dogs for the ceremony. They set up all of our decorations perfectly. All of there onsite decorations for rent and some for free are great. I 100% recommend going with all of her wedding vendors as well because they all work great together! I can say not one thing went wrong on our wedding day. We are so thankful for Oak Hill and plan to have a vow renewal there again one day!

We got married at Oak Hill Farm last month & it was absolutely amazing. The venue itself is breathtaking… our wedding felt like a fairytale. Becky & her team were so helpful, kind & accommodating. They helped us plan the wedding of my dreams in only 3 weeks… Becky keeps you very organized throughout the process with worksheets & google docs. She also gives you a great list of vendor recommendations that we loved! Becky was so responsive & went out of her way many times to help us make sure the big day went smooth. Oak Hill is so detail oriented & they have tons of rentals & decor for you to choose from... so easy! Many of our guests said it was the best wedding & venue they had ever been to. I can’t say enough good things… Thank you Oak Hill, for giving us the best day of our lives!!!

You won't find a better wedding venue than Oak Hill Farm! Their venue is so unique and absolutely breathtaking. Our guests loved all of the different locations (country store, school house) on the farm. Becky and her team were so accommodating and I couldn't have asked for a better team to bring my vision to life. They made our special day truly magical.

It is better late than never, but my husband and I got married here last June. The venue is gorgeous and I was sold when taking our tour. There were no worries or stress working with Becky and her staff. They made the day seamless and one we will never forget!

Oak Hill was the most breathtaking venue I could have imaged for my wedding. I was never a big wedding girl myself, but this place has everything. Becky runs the whole place like a pro and is truly a sweet angel, full of advice, wonderful tips, life-saving suggestions, killer vendor recommendation, and is the was the most responsive vendor that I had during my entire wedding process (what a relief!) The venue itself has so many opportunities that allow you to customize your wedding day to be the way you want it and it even has free range donkeys! Who doesn't love that!?! My wedding was extremely unusual with plenty of multi-cultural flare and Becky made it work seamlessly. I would recommend this place to anyone with a love a nature, a knack for DIY decorations and a little bit of a creative spirit. Would recommend: 1000/10

Oak Hill Farm is amazing! I cannot say enough good things about this venue and their team. They go above and beyond to make sure your wedding day goes smoothly and stress-free. They are super organized and very responsive, which was incredibly helpful during the planning process. The venue is gorgeous and so unique. Our guests loved this place, especially the roaming donkeys! You cannot go wrong with this place!

From the moment we saw it, we knew Oak Hill was where we wanted to get married! Becky was so easy to work with and made coordinating our destination wedding a breeze. The planning sheets and preferred vendor lists helped us stay organized. The property is so beautiful and is kept up so well. We are still getting compliments from our wedding guests on our venue choice. I highly recommend getting married at Oak Hill!

Working with Becky has been such a pleasure! She has been so kind and has maintained communication throughout our entire planning process. I am truly amazed at her organization and attention to detail. The staff is very friendly, and the venue is breath taking. Our family came in from all across the country and everyone was so excited to have traveled to such a beautiful location! We love that we were able to utilize the entire property, and this gave our guests a lot of fun things to explore during our cocktail hour and reception. We couldn’t be happier that we chose Oak Hill.

The Oak Hill Wedding Venue is absolutely amazing. From the initial walk Becky and her staff were so accommodating, informative, organized, and kind. The venue has something for everybody, from antique cars, horses/donkeys, antique store, rustic barn, an old schoolhouse, the chapel, and the beautiful tent! We were told many times throughout the day by guests how much they love this wedding venue. I can’t recommend this venue enough!!

Words cannot express how glad I am that we chose Oak Hill for our big day! Becky was phenomenal - she worked with her team and our vendors to ensure the wedding went smoothly, we had nothing to do but enjoy each other and the magic of the day. I had multiple guests tell me it was one of the most unique, nicest weddings they have been to. It was even more beautifully pulled together than I had imagined. 5 stars all the way, would recommend to anyone!

We had our wedding at Oak Hill Farm a few weeks ago, and I could not be happier! I worked with Becky to plan out the details and provide information, and she was wonderful. She had everything organized and laid out to make sure nothing was missed or overlooked, and she was willing to help and answer any questions I had, no matter how small they seemed. The day of the wedding, Andrea was our coordinator. She really helped everything stick to the timeline we had created so the whole day went smoothly. You can really tell the staff knows what they are doing and want to make sure the big day is everything you’d hoped for. Our guests have been raving about the property of Oak Hill Farm and how perfect everything was. I’m so happy we chose this beautiful venue for our wedding!

My husband and I got married at Oak Hill on 7/15/18 and everything about the venue was perfect! Becky and her crew are so amazing to work with. I had tons of questions leading up to the big day and Becky was super responsive. She also sends a ton of planning tools and a vendor list, which is helpful if you aren’t from the area. About 2 weeks before the wedding, I turned in an excel spreadsheet basically outlining everything and the team at Oak Hill set it all up (and took it all down the next morning for us to pick up). The property is gorgeous and there are various areas that you can set up the way you want (Country Store, Schoolhouse, etc.). There are props you can borrow for free or for a small fee too. Overall, if you are looking for a beautiful outdoor wedding location with so many opportunities for creative and fun ideas, Oak Hill is perfect and you will not be disappointed by Becky and her team...they are super professional and organized and if there is something that went wrong that day, I couldn’t tell! P.S. One thing I would suggest is if you are not providing guests with transportation to and from the venue (which I did not), remind them to have some kind of map accessible because the internet reception is not the best (which is awesome in my opinion, though). Also, let the donkeys roam around, all of my guests loved them :)

Gorgeous venue, indoor & outdoor options, and a phenomenal venue manager (Becky). She takes care of EVERYTHING, it's like having a wedding planner for free! We hardly had to bring anything to the location for decor and all that. Also they have ANIMALS! (donkeys, cats, dogs, horses, cows, etc)

Had our whole wedding here, Dressed in the barn-house, ceremony overlooking the water-fountain, Antique Car, Truck and various items used all the day. Chapel as a backup ceremony spot in case of rain, schoolhouse lawn for cocktail hour and schoolhouse we used for place-cards and guestbook, country-store was for s'more supplies. Our guests LOVED IT HERE. There were roaming donkeys on the grounds, the spacious tent felt vast yet inviting. The staff was more than accommodating. They took and set up our decorations better then I had planned in my mind (and I'm OCD about this). They stuck to our itinerary even when thins got chaotic. We felt accommodated and never rushed. There were heat laps set up and the sides of the tent brought down to keep us warm. The fire-pit for the s'mores was amazing. Becky and her staff went above and beyond, even making sure to contact us days ahead of time for a road blockage and corrected detour driving directions so our guests and us were right on time and not 20 minutes late. I can't say enough good things about them. Our guests LOVED it so much that two are talking about using them for their wedding anniversaries. I hope they do because I can't wait to come back. The scenery is phenomenal and I got everything I wanted and more. They were GREAT!

The two stars are for the fact that the property looks nice. I did not have my wedding here simply due to the rude treatment I received when touring this place while in search of a venue. In all honesty, this place was my dream wedding venue because of the farm property/grounds. I had an appointment to meet with Becky a few weeks ahead of time to see the venue. I live an hour and a half away, which I told Becky. 30 minutes before the appointment, as I am driving to the venue on time, Becky frantically calls me and tells me that the group who was supposed to tour the venue before me was late to the appointment and that I needed to get there ASAP to combine our tours, or they'd start without us. I told her I expected my own tour with my group like we had planned for weeks and it would not be fair to penalize me for the group before me being late. However, when I arrived at my scheduled time, Becky had already begun the information portion of the tour with the group ahead of us. Becky treated me as if I was the late one, and I missed out on approximately 1/3 of the tour because the bride before me was late to her appointment. I insisted that Becky spend extra time with me at the end to give me the information she had given the group before us, which she did reluctantly. The entire time, Becky had her phone out texting and constantly checking the time as if she did not have time for this. She was very rude and unfriendly the entire time, did not make me feel like a potential client, and simply was unprofessional in dealing with the situation. I would never have trusted someone like this to provide an accommodating, worry-free wedding day for me without glitches. This place has potential, but beware of the owner/management! Stay away if you care about customer service on your WEDDING day.

Just....WOW. We had our whole day and night here and it was worth every penny. First of all, the grounds are BEAUTIFUL. Every guest told us it was the most beautiful wedding they had ever attended! Second of all, Becky, the coordinator and owner is so professional and AMAZING! She is one of the reasons why I was not as stressed as I might be because she responded to my emails and phone calls quickly, she was always positive and cheerful when we interacted, and was extremely flexible! The grounds are kept up, the workers there do such a beautiful job and are super friendly, there are chickens, cows and horses casually hanging around, and they set up and take down any decor you bring. I hardly brought any decorations because so many are included in the price. If youre looking for a beautiful, farm life, diy wedding with virtually no diy stress involved--then this venue is for you!

Words cannot explain how beautiful our wedding was at Oak Hill Farm in Apple River , IL. My husband and I live in Schaumburg IL and we knew it would be a hike for all our guests but it truly was WORTH IT! Everyone said it was the best wedding they have ever been to. It is nice to get away from the hustle and bustle of the suburbs and city and enjoy the land of Jo Daviss County around Galena and Apple River. Becky makes planning a peice of cake as she is very organized with recommended vendors. My advice to future brides......Price all vendors out! Just because they are more expensive doesn't mean they are better! Every detail, food, music, decor, service, bakery was FIRST CLASS and we have the best day of our lives. I recommend this venue to anyway wanting a country wedding with their loved ones. We had our guests stay at Stoney Creek Inn and Country Inn and suites in Galena and they took school buses there and back from the venue. I wish I could relive the day! Thank you Oak Hill for everything! 10 stars all the way!

Oak Hill in Apple River, IL was wonderful. They were responsive to questions and they had staff to set up the ceremony and reception (we used the venue for both). The site is beautiful. It is also unique with their old country store, one room schoolhouse, and little chapel.

It's hard to believe we said "I do" just a little over a month ago already. We could not have been more pleased with our whole wedding day at Oak Hill Weddings! Thank you so much to Becky & your entire staff. You truly are amazing at what you do. Not only is the setting beautiful (there is no such thing as a bad picture with all the different backdrops to choose from) but your hard work helped me keep as calm and collected as I could be. Thanks again for everything. It wouldn't have been possible without you.

Oak Hill is a beautiful, romantic, rustic, amazing venue. There are so many unique touches throughout the grounds, and the barnhouse and chapel are picture perfect. I loved how we had complete access to the barnhouse to hang out and dress before the ceremony. The guys and girls have seperate unique areas which came in handy. Becky and Sandy made our wedding experience soo memorable. Easy to work with and professional. My favorite moment was leaving the chapel as newly weds in a hourse drawn carriage. It was perfect! I highly recommend Oak Hill Farm to anyone wanting a beautiful unique country wedding. Kurt and Gabby June 29, 2013

This venue is Amazing... this is THE place to host an event. From the beautiful landscaping to the hands on role of the family who runs the property. Our wedding was perfect because of the location!!!

Oak Hill was the most amazing wedding venue. The property is truly a must-see. Our photographer told us we were making his job so easy because this place is just simply perfect. Becky and Sandy are amazing to work with. They help you out when you need it and are so accommodating. The area is very secluded, private! The photo opportunities are endless at Oak Hill. This place is such a great find. It's vibe is sweet, scenic, antique elegance, full of character. We got married in the Barnhouse, which is a barn converted to a home with lodge-like charm. The detail is amazing. A deck overlooks a yard and pond. There is a classic chapel, an old school house and a general store that make pictures unlike you've ever seen. Our time at Oak Hill was so great, and they are great to work with. Easy, stress-free and accommodating. It doesn't get much better.

Having my welcome hour (cocktail hour held before the ceremony in lieu of a receiving line. Thanks for the idea, Becky!) and ceremony at Oak Hill is by far the BEST decision I made while planning my wedding. I am still getting compliments from guests saying it was the most beautiful wedding they’ve ever been to, and I give Oak Hill 100% of the credit. The shabby chic, vintage, rustic vibe from Oak Hill can be found nowhere else. The chapel, schoolhouse, country store, and original hay barn make it a unique setting. Working with Becky was so fun and easy. Living in the Chicago land area, I relied heavily on emails when contacting vendors in Galena. Becky always responded back to me quickly and fully answered all of my questions. Sandy, Becky’s mother, was our officiant and did an amazing job. The day of the wedding went so smoothly. Becky and her husband were there to set everything up, greet guests, and even hold my train while walking down the steps to the ceremony (we held ours outside below the barn house in front of the pond). Oak Hill will always hold a very special place in my heart and I will definitely be going back to visit with Becky and Sandy. I have a feeling that I will be attending a wedding there in the future as many of my guests are still raving about Oak Hill’s beauty and even want to hold their own wedding there, too.

Becky from Oak Hill was great to work with. We had our ceremony and reception at this location. She coordinated with all of our vendors and made my day a lot less stressful. The venue was absolutely gorgeous. Our pictures turned out beautifully. Definitely check this place out in person, you'll fall in love with it!
