I have worked with this location on other events for my company and they always had good food and pleasant staff. When it was time for my wedding they were one of my top two choices. We ended up choosing them over the other because of the "all inclusive" service they provided and the price tag. They were friendly and thing pretty much turned out exactly how I planned it. We planned and had our wedding entirely during the Covid19 pandemic and the location had a nearby wildfire that put it on evacuation during the planning process as well. With knowing they had to follow certain guidelines due to Covid I felt we were still able to have a pretty normal experience. We chose plated which they did very well and mad our guests feel lavished, it also cut back on the concern for buffet serving with Covid. The location is beautiful on its own, even inside their Orchid Ballroom we only had to put center pieces on the table to feel decorated. If you want a place that will feel lavish but simple to work with this is a great place.
We had our wedding here and it was the best decision! The staff was beyond helpful before our wedding and the day of! Having the hotel was great for out of town guests and the wedding party. The food and drinks were also wonderful! We would definitely recommend this venue to other couples.
DO NOT HAVE YOUR WEDDING HERE!! For such an exorbitant price, one would expect exceptional service, and this was not the case. We were not given the alcohol that we ordered, nor was there enough meat or food for our guests even though we ordered well over the actual number of guests in attendance. Some items we ordered were not even present at the reception! Furthermore, the wedding event coordinator for the Garden was so difficult to communicate with, did not correctly input our banquet event order, and failed to provide the services promised. Also, the “resort” rooms are straight from the 1990’s. While the grounds are beautiful, I would suggest that a couple looking to get married not use this venue! Very disappointing!
The Oregon Gardens was beyond amazing. From start to finish Mariah and Shana were there to answer any questions that I had and help every step of the way. On the day of, Mariah went above and beyond to make sure that I had the best day ever and that everything ran smoothly and started on time. I highly recommend the venue for weddings, especially if you have out of town guests. All of our guests loved their rooms, the gardens, and the fact they were right on site!!
Our initial encounter with the Oregon Garden was great. Their event coordinator was polite and very helpful. But when unforeseen circumstances arose they dragged their feet. My husband received rushed deployment orders and we had to cancel our wedding. The Oregon Gardens did not want to give us our money back (which legally they are obligated to if a situation such as this were to arise). It took multiple weeks and multiple loops we were thrown through before they finally gave us our money back. We would not recommend this venue to any active military couple looking to get married here.
From the moment we met with Shana, we KNEW we wanted to have our wedding at the Oregon Garden! She was so welcoming, friendly, and responsive to our many (many) and ongoing questions! The resort provided a wonderful food tasting event, which was so helpful in the menu selection, for our entire wedding weekend. A venue that allowed for our guests to remain/stain onsite was something important to us as well, and the accommodations are really wonderful. For the wedding weekend, the Resort grouped our wedding party and guests near each other on the property, which enhanced the whole fun atmosphere we were hoping for. With, so many options for both wedding and reception venues, along with the varied menu selection and beautiful surroundings, this was an easy choice for us. The entire weekend of our wedding, we were treated so well, and staff helped to make our day seamless and truly memorable. We highly recommend this location to anyone - working with Shana and Maria, was a wonderful experience.
We were married in June at the Wedding Garden, and what an amazing experience it was! Shana and her helpers had beautiful hanging baskets of flowers on the gazebo, and had lined flowers along the grass borders in my ceremony colors. The chairs and other items were set up perfectly, just as we had discussed. After the ceremony, our guests enjoyed a dinner catered by Oregon Garden staff that was delicious, and beautifully presented-- with flowers! Many guests commented on how tasty the food was. The Gardens staff were gracious and accommodating in every way, going out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and happy. I highly recommend this venue as a wonderful, beautiful, and stress-free location.
We held our wedding at the Oregon Gardens at the Garden Green and Grand Hall. We ended up having to move our ceremony inside, due to weather, but the venue was perfect either way! The lights in the Grand Hall could not set a better atmosphere!
We loved having a hotel on property for our out of town guests and several of our guests chose to stay there and they all loved their rooms.
Shana, the event coordinator was easy to work with and always returned calls and emails quickly.
Beautiful venue and great staff, highly recommend this venue!
The Oregon Garden Resort is an absolutely beautiful location for an outdoor wedding. My wedding was everything I could have wanted atheistically and I got so many compliments on the ambiance. That being said, the service from the Oregon Garden was less than impressive. And here's why:
We had to do all our own setup and take down including hanging things using a very tall ladder (seems like a huge unwise liability for the OGR). $3,300 in venue rental only got us tables, linens, dish ware, and a few staff to man the buffet line. We had to pay extra for a bartender.
We had to pay $100 per HOUR for use of a golf car to drive our elderly guests from the hotel to the ceremony/reception site and back. The cart was also supposed to be available to us during our photo time to help us get around the gardens quickly. I never saw the golf cart when we were taking pictures and it would have been helpful because the gardens are huge and there was a certain gazebo we loved and wanted photos in but couldn't find it and ran out of time walking around on foot. The elderly only got to use the golf cart for the ride at the end of the reception, because it was no where to be found before the wedding. I'm not sure how they all struggled down to the ceremony site, but thankfully they made it safely and in one piece.
We stayed at the OGR the night before and night of our wedding as did most of our guests. They tried to get us to pay for our room both nights. Every single other venue I looked at included a free hotel room for the bride and groom and only after we pointed this out multiple times, did they offer us our wedding night for free. Given that with our wedding costs plus our guests' hotel rooms, they made at least $20,000 off our wedding, they should have offered us a free stay without being asked. It felt uncomfortable and tacky that we had to insist on that.
Finally, we had a signed contract with prepaid beer and wine based on a guesstimate the wedding coordinator there had. We brought our own wine and paid the corkage fee ahead of time for all bottles, however, we ended up taking home 18 unopened bottles. We definitely drank more beer than what we originally paid for. We never got a final bill and 1 week after our wedding, our credit card was charged for another $80. It took 4 phone calls and 3 emails to get anyone from OGR to respond to me and when they did, the final bill showed I should have gotten a refund based on our actual consumption vs estimated costs. To date, I still have not gotten an adequate explanation from them why I have been charged more money instead of been given a refund. Granted, $80 is small in the scheme of things, but I think it is incredibly unprofessional to a) not be given a final accounting of goods consumed and b) charged more money without a bill or conversation explaining why. It feels like they got what they wanted from me (money) and were done being responsive, courteous, and professional after that.
I have to give my now husband credit, he did pick this place. I even had second thoughts about going to visit in the first place, but it was great. Having a hotel on site was one of the biggest draws for us as we wanted our guests to have a place to stay. The rooms are all very nice, and the honeymoon suite is even better, totally worth the extra $75 or whatever it is. The 2nd was all the pretty lights in the pavilion. In the evening that place is beautiful. They also have one of the longest rental times (12 hours, but really it was more)of all the places we researched. Making us feel unrushed which was awesome. The banquet staff that set the room up for us was absolutely great, making sure we had whatever we needed and letting us get in the night before to start setting up (I made 400 tissue paper pom poms that we hung on the walls) making the day-of a breeze. We had both our ceremony and reception in the grand hall (I didn't want to chance May weather)and it worked out great. The room was set up w/ ceremony towards the windows w/ chairs set up in rows and then the tables set up around the dance floor for the rest of the room. We had 19 tables plus the head table and it filled the very large room nicely. The grounds are beautiful, the picture options are endless. We rented the golf cart(it costs $100/hr, minimum 2 hour rental) and Lisa one of the events coordinators drove us from spot to spot for pictures. I would have never made it walking around on my own. The garden did a big group tasting for all the wedding couples, buffet style. Not all food was presented and we didn't have big expectations for the food afterwards. Buffet food is buffet food, but the food was actually quite good and we got a lot of positive comments from our guests (we had the moonstone mixed grill). My only complaint would be that our original wedding coordinator person left on maternity leave a few months before our wedding and then didn't end up coming back, so we had to deal w/ 2 different people. That being said, Lisa upheld all the promises and such made by the first girl. Also they charge gratuity on the facility rental which doesn't make sense at all. Those are the only complaints, but not big issues at all. Highly recommend this venue.
You cannot beat the Oregon Garden for pictures alone. There are so many locations on the ground to take pictures. We had two locations one for the wedding outside and one for the reception outside. They have three options of where you can have your wedding. They can even host three weddings at the same time. Our wedding was on a Sunday so the venue cost was less. We were able to schedule a taste test to figure out our menu and appetizers. The biggest kudos for them is that you have access to the grounds from 11AM to 11PM which means you don't feel rushed to get set up and pictures done in a short period of time. Most places limit 5 hours for everything. We had a tent onsite with our wedding. It can be pretty breezy up there so outside wedding you should consider that. The only thing I would recommend is that there really is not an onsite coordinator or a wedding coordinator. You have to have your own and being diligent to be on top of the catering service manager as they project management and detail could significantly improve. Several missed communication didn't get passed down and shared incorrectly. Otherwise I loved my wedding there.
