Shayla was incredible to work with for my wedding! I was able to go in for a hair and make up trial beforehand, which was so important to me. The hairstyle she did for my trial, I didn't love, and by the end of the day I just wasn't happy with it. I reached out to her to let her know and she got me back in her studio in a timely manner to try something else out without any question, arguing, or hesitation. The second hair trial she knocked out of the park and I absolutely fell in love with. She is very easy to work with and accommodating and brought an amazing team to help with my bridesmaids on my day of!

Allie is truly amazing at what she does, she made me feel so beautiful. She also did an amazing job with my moms hair, our hair stayed flawless all night and so did my makeup! Paper Dolls is also very reliable and responds very quickly with any questions that may occur.

Shayla and her team did an absolutely amazing job at my wedding in May! I really struggled to find the right hair and makeup vendor for my wedding because I'm Asian American and didn't see a lot of vendors with pictures of brides that looked like me. I ended up choosing Paper Dolls because a friend highly recommended them and said they were the best hair/makeup she's ever seen. I couldn't agree more! Everything came out SO perfectly for myself, my bridesmaids, and our moms! I couldn't stop saying the entire day how amazing everyone looked. The best part is that Shayla really understands what you're looking for - whether it's a natural look or a heavier makeup look. My makeup stayed on the entire day and looked so good even in the evening and on the dance floor. The added bonus is that Shayla is just super friendly and fun to be around. The team was absolutely amazing! I am not usually someone who knows makeup and what works and they worked with me to make sure what I was envisioning came to life with both hair and makeup. They were incredible personable and all my bridesmaids were in love with their hair and makeup as well.

Shayla and her team are incredible! As someone who doesn't really wear makeup, Shayla was able to create a natural look that didn't seem over done and looked beautiful in photos. She also created the perfect hairstyle after looking at a few inspiration photos, and was flexible about making slight changes on my wedding day. She made me feel so confident and beautiful on my big day with a stunning up-do and gorgeous natural looking make up! Shayla is absolutely fantastic. From the day she did my makeup trial for my engagement photos, to the day she did my wedding makeup and hair—she is incredibly talented and knows how to make the whole process fun and stress-free. I was a little worried when looking for a makeup artist since I am of a different ethnicity and in the past I’ve had issues with my makeup being too light or looking artificial—but with Shayla, my makeup was flawless and natural like I wanted it. I couldn’t get over how good my hair and makeup looked on my wedding day and she made my mom, who never does anything for herself feel like a princess which made me so happy. Shayla was FABULOUS and fast! Honestly, I was a little nervous when she said she would have both my hair and makeup complete in an hour. But, she did and Everything held up for the entire day. I loved my hair and makeup- she did a fantastic job without even doing a trial first. Everyone who had their hair and makeup done enjoyed working with her and loved their looks. Shayla is simply incredible! Not only did she perfectly complete hair/makeup in a timeframe that defies all logic, she made us feel special. She made my wedding day truly remarkable, but I think I'm most pleased with how she made my mother-in-law feel. People told her all night how beautiful she looked and she really felt it! My wedding was 8/24/19 and finally I am just getting around to writing reviews! It is important to me to call out what amazing work Paper Dolls does for brides and bridal parties! I absolutely loved my wedding hair and makeup, done by Carrie who helped work with me to get my look just as I envisioned! Paper Dolls was amazing and so patient with each of the girls in the group. Everyone looked so beautiful! The makeup and hair crew worked efficiently to get through all of us (there were 10 bridesmaids!!), plus both mothers, and myself. Everyone looked so fabulous and I could not be more grateful for such a hardworking crew! I would highly recommend them!!!

I am so happy I found Paper Dolls! The entire process from start to finish was such a breeze! Carrie and her assistant did an incredible job on my bridesmaids and me. They were prompt, professional, and very courteous. I felt like they took into consideration what my bridesmaids wanted, and they made it happen! They had to work on 7 people in my bridal suite, and they ended up finishing early on us! Mind you, several of my bridesmaids had really long hair! I told Carrie what I wanted to do with my hair, I showed her makeup and hair inspirations, and dang if she didn't almost make me look like the picture! I never had to adjust or ask for any modifications, I thought everything was perfect just the way she did it. Although, if I did have any suggestions, she was eager to hear them and she definitely made sure that I was happy with the finished look. I heard how beautiful I was over a hundred times it felt, although, I could never get tired of hearing that! ;) Thank you for making me feel so gorgeous on my wedding day! Three of the most amazing ladies did our hair and make up for my sister wedding this past Saturday! All three were amazing and did spectacular jobs! Very professional and are wonderful artist! I had to plan a last minute wedding on Kiawah Island due to COVID and was stressed to say the least. I recommended Paper Dolls and am SO grateful I used them. Carrie and her team were incredible. We were unable to do a hair/make up trial beforehand, but she was able to do my vision and was so patient when I had changes. :) Every woman at my wedding were thrilled with how they looked. I couldn't recommend them highly enough!

I hardly have the words to describe what an AMAZING job Carrie did on my wedding day! Despite never having met her beforehand (our wedding was small and we worked with an incredible elopement planner who booked Carrie for us), she knew just what to do for hair and makeup for both me and my MOH/sister. She was so polite, kind, professional, and put me at ease while getting ready even with all my pre-wedding nerves. I have truly never felt more beautiful - she absolutely nailed the look I was going for with only a few basic Pinterest photos to work from. I can be picky, so I was shocked when I had not a single thing to change when she finished my look, it was absolutely perfect. It held up, too - my hair didn't fall out at all and my makeup stayed fresh throughout the night. Carrie, thank you SO much for making me feel and look incredible on such a special day!

WOW! Just WOW! My daughter connected with Carrie of Paper Dolls through her exceptional wedding planners, Pure Luxe Brides. Carrie met with her to do a trial hair and make-up session July 2019 then again in March 2020 for her bridal portraits. She was so supportive and flexible when the wedding was delayed from May to July 12th due to Covid. She and Shayla arrived promptly the morning of the wedding to do the hair and make-up for my daughter and her five bridesmaids. They were attentive to every detail and so personable! Their work is impeccable. The ladies were stunning! I highly recommend Paper Dolls without reservation!!

I ended up not going with Paper Dolls for my wedding hair & makeup simply due to different styles BUT I did decide to get 7 clip-in extensions to help my curls hold and last longer and Shayla matched my hair perfectly!! Shayla was an absolute sweetheart to work with!

I'm so glad I hired Paper Dolls for my wedding hair/make-up. Carrie did mine and I could not have been happier. From our first emails back and forth, she was extremely responsive and professional. At our trial, she did not finish until we got the exact look I was going for. She kept showing me my make-up and made small adjustments as we went. I was always so nervous how my look would turn out all put together on my big day but it was 100% what I envisioned. I truly felt gorgeous. You can tell she is extremely experienced and confident in her skills, and the end product shows! The airbrush make-up lasted all evening and I got SO many compliments! My bridesmaids that got hair and make-up all looked amazing as well. Seriously hire Carrie, you will not regret it.

Carrie and team did a FANTASTIC job on my bridal and bridesmaids' hair and makeup for our wedding. Everyone looked natural but gorgeous. Due to a medical issue, the makeup artist who I had done my trial with was unable to make our wedding day. Since we were not local to Charleston and unable to do a 2nd trial, Carrie herself went above and beyond to come to do my makeup after another wedding she'd already had booked. It looked even better than the inspiration photos I showed her. 100% perfect. Kelly did the bridesmaids' makeup and they all looked amazing. Kristin did our hair and did a wonderful job. All the ladies were on time, responsive, extremely friendly and we had a blast getting ready with this team.

Paper Dolls came highly recommended by both our wedding planner and photographer, so I decided to book with them. I did not do a hair and makeup trail before the wedding (simply to save money), so I was a little worried that I wouldn't get exactly what I was picturing on wedding day. As soon as Carrie arrived I knew I had nothing to worry about! She is a true professional and really knows what she's doing. She's very focused on her work but was also a lot of fun to have around. I showed her one picture of what I was thinking for my hair, and she nailed it. My makeup was outstanding - I wanted a natural, enhanced look, and she could not have made it more perfect. All of my bridesmaids looking amazing and loved their hair (not easy for a group of 7 women). One of the most amazing things about Carrie's work is that my hair held ALL day. She finished my hair well before noon, and it still looked perfect when the reception ended at 11:00 (and I danced A LOT). Multiple people commented to me after the wedding that they couldn't believe how good my hair looked all night. I could not recommend Carrie more highly!

Carrie and her team are AMAZING at Paper Dolls and I (and all the girls) cannot recommend her enough! I felt beautiful, yet natural, and had a glow all night long. Carrie was amazing!! I met her only on my wedding day due to a last minute change in my make up artist. Carrie was very flexible and fit me into her busy schedule which I appreciated so much! I loved working with Carrie for my wedding party's hair and makeup on the day of. Everyone's makeup was so beautiful and aligned with what they had asked for. She did an incredible job on my hair - even though I only decided on what I wanted that morning LOL. She did my trial as well as my spray-tan the day before the wedding, which was a service I was really happy to learn about! Great communication throughout the process!

I knew from my initial call with Carrie, that Paper Dolls Wedding Hair & Makeup was the perfect fit. And I was right. Carrie did my hair and makeup for both my rehearsal dinner and wedding. I always get nervous to get my hair and makeup done because I don't really deviate from my normal routine often, but Carrie immediately put me at ease. She is a true professional and helped me pinpoint what I wanted (I barely even had pictures to provide direction) and proceeded to absolutely nail it. Not to mention, she's just an awesome person. I was referred to Shayla and Paper Dolls from my wedding planner and I knew from my first phone call with Shayla that I was going to enjoy working with her. I had my first trial with Shayla over 6 months before my wedding - I showed her pictures of hair and makeup that I liked and she executed it perfectly. I wasn’t sure how soft I wanted the makeup to be (I knew I didn’t want dark Smokey eyes) but she made sure to pause several times throughout to make sure it was exactly what I wanted. Even with the hair trial, she put in my extensions and showed me the look as she was creating it to incorporate any adjustments. I was appreciative of that since many hair and makeup artists I’ve had in the past just wait until the end. A few months before the wedding I was having second thoughts about my hair style (since I was thinking updo instead of down) and Shayla was great about helping me book a second trial to make sure I was happy with it a few days before the wedding. I LOVED the new hairstyle. Originally I was going to do a transition where I took out the bottom part of the updo to have a second hairstyle, but I loved the updo so much that I decided to keep it for the whole day! The day of the wedding I was so impressed with how efficient Shayla and Allie were with getting all of my girls through hair and makeup, even through all of the girls getting distracted by prosecco, going outside, and dealing with dress mishaps. I was SO blown away by how amazing my hair and makeup turned out the day of my wedding! I didn’t think it was possible but it turned out even better than the trials and Shayla created my “Bridal glow”. I wish I was local to Charleston because I would go to Shayla for all of my hair and makeup needs in the future! Highly recommend!
