Philmont Country Club

I booked with Sarah who I clicked with almost immediately. After a few month we were notified that Sarah was no longer there so we went in to meet with the new coordinator Ariel. There was no documentation of anything that Sarah offered me other than the notes that I wrote down. From here on I was nervous because it seemed a little unorganized. Months after we booked, we found out that there was major construction on the facility. This wasn't mentioned at the time of booking. I was disappointed because now the driveway to the venue is through an active construction site & Parts of the parking lot were still not finished on the day of our wedding. Trying to schedule my rehearsal was a nightmare. I was told multiple times that we couldnt set it until they made sure they didnt book anything. I had my rehearsal dinner somewhere else so the way I was told they needed to see if an event was booked made me feel as though they only considered it important if I wanted to use them for the dinner. I do appreciate that Ariel was able to get the room set up the day before the wedding so we could come in and decorate early since we were doing most of it ourselves. This was very helpful because we had to clean trash from a previous party out of the bridal suite. The day of the wedding everything really went downhill. We were told we could get into the bridal suite at 8am. When we got there, the doors were locked & there was no one to let us in. We didn't have Ariel's number because the only number provided through booking is the club's main number. I sent an email & my MOH walked around the club until she found someone to let us in. We had to look in closets find chairs and there were no dress racks in the suite besides one closet in the hair/make up room(We left 2 dress racks for future bridal parties in the coat closet). The bathrooms in the bridal suite didnt have trash bags and the outlets didnt work. Ariel and I talked the day before about the weather and the ceremony location. On Friday, there was no rain in the forecast. The day of the wedding, it was raining. My MOH tried to talk to Ariel about a backup plan if it were to rain but she kept telling her that her phone said no rain, even though it was already raining outside. The "backup plan" room had a projector and tables in it. My MOH & florist asked Ariel to clean the bird poop off of the aisle so that it didnt ruin my dress & she told them "we can clean it, but it doesnt mean they wont poop again" which to me was really unprofessional. When we moved the ceremony, my bridesmaids asked if they were going to start moving the decorations as well. They were told "you can. we wont" and that was it. I was unaware that any of this was going on but overall my bridesmaids felt as though the interactions they had were very unprofessional and not willing to adapt to unforeseen situations. She was pretty hands off unless we emailed asking for something. During our first look golfers tried to walk through because there was no one there to stop them. I had to stop mid "first look" to yell at them not walk in my pictures. We also had an issue with a toilet flooding and no one was around to help with that. Thank god our photographer was a preferred vendor and knew who to contact. We had an issue with one of the wait staff arguing with one of our guests that my husband was only 18 & the same wait staff rolled her eyes at my 8 yr old son for laying on the floor & having an empty water glass with him.

We chose Philmont for our 11/03/2023 wedding, and we couldn't be happier with the venue and the staff (special shout out to Ariel and Jimmy). We received so many compliments on how delicious the food was, which thrilled me and my husband to hear. Ariel was who I coordinated with for months, and she deserves all the good praise in the world. She was always helpful and responsive, which is key for a bride-to-be who is juggling the plethora of responsibilities and vendors prior to the big day. She was absolutely a key member of the team to ensure everything with smoothly, and had endless patience for my many questions. I would recommend her to anyone. With the recent construction going on outside the venue, my husband and I were filled with trepidation as that was something that started up a few months before our wedding day, but the staff truly went above and beyond to make sure that was nothing but a hiccup on the day. We received so much praise for the venue and the outdoor ceremony space, and our guests stated that everything was beautiful. Jimmy was incredible during our Tasting, and helped us pick the perfect menu for our guests. We chose the plated option (Filet, Tuscan Chicken, and Honey-Soy Salmon), and their Honey-Soy Salmon was a massive hit with myself and the guests who ordered it. We also heard endless compliments for the appetizers and stations serviced during cocktail hour. Jimmy was a huge help to us when it came to picking the perfect menu, and was also an excellent Day-Of coordinator. He made sure everything was running smoothly on the wedding day, and helped our rather large party line up and walk for the ceremony. The staff here are truly what made this experience incredible, and it's thanks to them that we had our perfect day. Sarah and the entire team were a joy to work with! Everyone raved about the food, especially the filet mignon. The space is great and we could utilize the outside for cocktail hour. They were willing to work with us, answered all of our questions in a timely manner and the night of the event was outstanding!

I was one of those brides who’s wedding was canceled due to Covid. When I was originally looking for places to have my wedding in 2019, the Philmont Country Club was not high on the list. As I looked through the pictures I noticed not a lot of people got married here. Back then, it was more for sweet 16’s and business dinners. After the cancellation, we were so happy we choose Philmont to get married! They literally did everything for me. I thought I was going to be stressed with decorating and setting up, but they just took the boxes from me and set everything up beautifully!!! All I had to do was show up, get dressed, and marry! The service was excellent. We have a heavy drinking family and those bartenders did not stop! Whenever I got up to dance, I would always come back to a fresh drink. The only thing I would say, is the bridal sweet is a little small. I was so jealous when my husband got the man cave next door at the golf club with pool tables, his own bartender, poker tables, darts, and more. I’m not sure if that’s always included, but the brides need love too!! The grounds were beautiful to take pictures on as well. This has been a late post, but I am so thankful to everyone at the Philmont. I would get married there every year if I could!!
