I just had my trial done last weekend and it went amazing with Bri. Can’t wait for them to do my wedding in August.

They no call no showed to my wedding and did not reply to any of my messages or emails for over 4 days afterward

The hair and makeup itself was great. The mom's loved their look, and I loved mine. Some bridesmaids looked better than others, but overall good quality hair and makeup. Communication from the booking to wedding day was a bit spotty, and when I showed up for my trial the artist had clearly forgotten about it. She also didn't remember that I had added one more hair treatment to the invoice and she had confirmed. Regardless her work was strong but organizationally she could be improved.

I can't recommend this service. I had similar issues with response times to other low reviews here and could not solidify a trial run. Requested my deposit back and received a message same-day coordinating the returned deposit. That is one of the few, and the fastest response I received. I would suggest communicating with customers that you cannot fulfill the obligation instead of leaving them frustrated and concerned. Ultimately this company made the wedding planning process more stressful than it already is.

Courtney did an amazing job with my wedding hair and makeup! She had us come over to her house for the trial run and the day-of since our venue had a set amount of time for preparations. Courtney was amazing. Following the trial, she gave me some tips and to-dos for before the wedding. She was super fun to work with and I would definitely recommend for any Portland brides ! Scheduling with Bri was a bit of a hassle. Courtney and I just communicated by text to make things easier for both of us. Everything worked out great and my fiance was WOWED. :) Thanks so much, Courtney!!!

Portland Makeup and Hair exceeded all of my expectations. Before selecting my makeup artist, I had feared that I would not look like myself on my wedding day. Serafina made me feel so incredibly beautiful, but also myself. She was also very flexible with all of my bridesmaids requests and made everyone feel beautiful on my special day. The fact that they have so many incredible artists on their staff, also makes them more flexible on finding someone for your specific wedding day.

I loved Portland hair and makeup. The girls were great and accommodating to my large bridal party. Also as a bride being nervous they kept checking in on me if I had eaten or need water.

Bri, Tana and Courtney were amazing to work with! They were punctual, organized and did a fantastic job! There were 6 of us for makeup and 5 for hair, I had my own hair dresser do mine...we did not provide pictures, simply trusted them to do what they do and were not disappointed. Our makeup was polished, we all looked gorgeous but still like ourselves, without the look and feel of heavy makeup. My girls’ hairs were beautifully done. Could not have been more pleased, so I have nothing to give but kudos to Bri and her crew! Thank you ladies for being part of my day!

My hair and makeup looked flawless!! Tana was awesome and easy to talk to and did my hair exactly how I wanted!! My makeup artist Mariam was amazing!! My makeup lasted ALL night, no touch ups needed! They worked on all my bridesmaids and mother in law and step mom and finished an hour early which was perfect! Highly recommend!

Bri and Josalyn are the absolute best!!! Bri was unendingly patient with me as I planned my wedding from across the country and had multiple questions for her!! Bri and Josalyn did an amazing job with my wedding hair and makeup and made me feel truly beautiful! They are awesome girls and I cannot thank them enough!!

I had a fantastic experience with Bri and her team for my wedding. Starting with the "trial run" they were super responsive and I felt like they really listened to what I wanted to do for my look. I had them do my, and my maid of honor's, make up and hair. After my trial run I sent Bri a whole list of notes on how things wore through the day and what I would like to have done differently. When it came time to do it for the big day it was very clear that they had read and discussed my comments and adjusted everything to just what I wanted. With so much to coordinate and manage on that day it was amazing to not have to worry at all about looking perfect. The make up wore all day and all night and my hair stayed curled longer than it ever had before. The make up and hair artists were super nice, very professional, and even helped the groom out with a blemish after they were done working on the ladies! Basically Portland Make-up and Hair provided the quality and experience that every bride dreams about for her special day. I am so incredibly grateful and would very strongly recommend them for a fun, luxurious and (perhaps most importantly) stress-free day.

Bri and her team did a wonderful job for my wedding!! She listened to exactly what I wanted during my trial and created a beautiful look that stayed throughout the day even though it was 100 degrees. On my wedding day, Bri and her team were so accommodating. She had her assistant run to her home to get me hair extensions when there was a miscommunication about who would be providing them to make sure my hair would be perfect. Bri and her team also did the hair and makeup for my mom and mother-in-law and the hair for all of my bridesmaids. Everyone looked beautiful :) Her whole team was so fun and sweet! I would absolutely recommend Portland Make-up & Hair to all brides!!

Portland Make-up and Hair was AMAZING. I chose Tiffany, based on her online gallery (http://www.portlandmakeupandhair.com/#!/page/394397/tiffany). On the day of my hair trial, Tiffany had an emergency, so Bri stepped in seamlessly and did my hair and makeup for free for my engagement photos. Tiffany later did my hair and makeup trial prior to the wedding, and was very responsive to tiny changes I wanted made -- I am VERY picky when it comes to my hair and makeup. On the day of the wedding, Tiffany did my hair and makeup, and my mom's and MOH's, along with makeup for several bridesmaids. Meghann did hair for bridesmaids. Everyone was extremely happy with the results. I got TONS of compliments on my hair and makeup on the day-of, and when I show people photos from my wedding they frequently compliment my hair and makeup artist. I wanted very natural looking makeup, and Tiffany did that perfectly. The false lashes that they use are not strips -- they are like individual lashes. My lashes -- and everyone else's lashes -- looked natural and lovely all day long, and felt entirely comfortable to wear. In fact, after the wedding I SLEPT with my hair and makeup (including lashes) on and went to breakfast the next day with it looking perfect. I got tons of compliments on how lovely I STILL looked. No one noticed on their own that I just didn't wash my face! I've never felt more beautiful than on the day of my wedding. Thank you Portland Make-up and Hair!

I had Bri and Josalyn do hair and makeup for myself and my bridal party and they did such an amazing job! Not only are they talented but they are so easygoing and fun to hang out with! Bri and her girls were amazing! They were very sweet, professional and listened to exactly what I wanted. Throughout the whole process Bri replied quickly and was very thorough in answering every question I had. They were flexible in meeting us at a hotel where my bridesmaids and I were getting ready and showed up right on time. It was an amazing experience and I received SO many compliments on my wedding day. I've never felt more beautiful, & I would highly recommend Bri to any bride. :)

Portland Makeup and Hair was definitely the right choice for my wedding! I got to do a trial run with Tiffany and she was easily able to follow my inspiration pictures even though I have fine, thin hair. On the wedding day we got to work with both Tiffany and Bailey. They came to my house, which made everything easy, and were right on time. Bri had helped us create a timeline beforehand (very helpful!) to ensure we got through everyone with time for pictures. All of my bridesmaids and both mothers got their hair done and each one was equally impressive. Everyone has very different hair and they handled it no problem. Tiffany did an amazing job on my makeup as well. I don't wear a ton of makeup normally and she kept it natural but still special! It lasted all night too. Definitely would recommend this team for any special occasion!

I wish I could rate the makeup artists separately from the business. I booked Dusti and Rachel for my wedding and they did a fabulous job. Unfortunately, working with Bri was more of a hassle than it was worth. Her communication is poor and errors are frequent. I was pre-warned of this by 2 other brides, but was so impressed with Dusti's work on their days that I went ahead anyway. Once I booked, communication nearly halted. I often sent Bri several messages over several days and weeks before receiving a response. She was the only vendor I experienced stress with. The week before the wedding, she provided me with balances that did not reflect credits from canceled services. When she corrected the balance after I pointed this out, she told me a different balance than she communicated to my makeup artist. This came to light in the last 5 minutes I had to get dressed before leaving for my wedding: not a fun error or surprise. This resulted in me begrudgingly writing a revisited check as I was dashing out the door, not having the time to re-check Bri's math. Bri then sent me several texts messages and called me at 5 PM... during my wedding to discuss. While I appreciate that Bri finally communicated with me in a timely manner, during the wedding was not the time to do this. My recommendation: if you can find a way to book Dusti directly, definitely do! She will make you look even better than you'd hoped on your big day. She also deserves getting 100% of what you pay for the service, as there is no value in anything else provided. If you cannot boom Dusti indepdently, book elsewhere as a second option. As a worst-case option, book through Bri but have your coordinator manage it - it's not worth the anxiety to handle it yourself.

Bri, Tiffany and Josalyn were all wonderful to work with! They all were punctual and professional and also worked great with the varying personalities and requests of my bridal party. I highly recommend them to anyone who doesn't want to think twice about or stress about their hair & makeup. You won't regret hiring Portland Makeup & Hair!!

Thank you Bri & Tiffany! These ladies did an amazing job with my hair and make-up. I couldn't be more pleased with the end result. Everything was perfect for my wedding day. I know nothing about applying makeup, Bri was great, she just did what she does best and made me look amazing. The most impressive part was that I had no pictures, just an idea in my head for the hairstyle and Tiffany was able to create my vision. Portland Hair and Makeup was exactly what I needed since I am clueless with hair and makeup! They came to my hotel on the morning of my wedding day, on time, and finished early. I didn't have to worry about a thing. Even at the end of the day, when we got home, I still looked fabulous! My wedding day was the best day of my life, these ladies contributed to that. I was very pleased with how my hair and make up turned out for my wedding Saturday. I had Jill doing my make up and Bailey doing my hair. I felt beautiful! Jill really listened to what I wanted and adjusted a few things from the trial run. Bailey worked out all the kinks during the trial run and worked in florals during the day of. I was very pleased with how it turned out. The reason I am not giving 5 stars is because it was very hard to communicate with Bri, who I booked through. I had to contact her multiple times before she responded. I was even not sure what time hair and make up would be arriving until the day before my wedding, and I had to ask for this information. She always was apologetic and warm, but I did not feel like I was a priority. The trial run was useful, but also really illustrative of the way the business functions. There were probably 10 girls having services done at any given point and it felt like a zoo. I'm glad Jill and Bailey's quality of service was so excellent. I would give Jill and Bailey's talent a soaring 5, but for the business side, I would give a 3. Every bride wants to feel special, and from Bri's end, I felt like a number.

I have to admit, I didn't do a lot of research when looking for a stylist for my wedding. A friend recently got married and suggest Josalyn. As she looked beautiful I just went with her recommendation. I am so glad I did! All of the ladies from Portland Makeup & Hair were extremely friendly, knowledgeable and talented. I had a blast at the trial and they did a fantastic job on the big day (on all 6 of us) AND we were done early!! I had the best experience, felt beautiful and had a few good conversations and laughs during the process. I could not be happier with Portland Makeup & Hair.

I'm so happy with how my hair and make up turned out on my wedding day! Bri was super easy and fun to work with, and did a great job. We did a trial about a month before and I had an idea of what I wanted. On the wedding day, I had some small changes to what we did in the trial, and she worked with it and made my wedding-day hair exactly how I had envisioned it. The florist gave us some fresh flowers to put in my hair, and Bri worked super hard to make them perfect, and would give me her honest opinion on when it didn't look right and we needed to adjust. It's awesome that Bri and her team will travel and come on-site. It made for a fun day for me and all of my bridesmaids and my mom and husband's mom to get ready all together at the venue. Bri and the stylist she brought with her (we were 7 ppl so needed 2 stylists) were super efficient and did a great job on everyone. Highly recommend for both hair and make up! The make up especially is perfect if you want to still look like yourself, but just a flawless version of that. I don't consider myself a photogenic person, but thanks to Bri I was!!

Bri made me feel like my ABSOLUTE best on my wedding day, and that is the way it should be for every bride. She definitely knows what she’s doing and makes sure that everything fits to YOU and sticks with what YOU want. Bri is also flexible and was able to accommodate my schedule to do the trial the week of the wedding since I was coming in from out of town. Her services were definitely the best value for the quality of work. Bri is top notch!

I am so happy I went with Portland Make-up and Hair for my wedding. I booked with Bri after hearing great things about her from a friend getting married. The first time I met her was for my hair and make-up trial about six weeks before my wedding. I felt super comfortable with Bri and she understood the look I was going for from the photos I brought in. She gave me some really helpful tips about skincare before the wedding. Bri and her team were excellent on the day of the wedding. They showed up on time, and were able to do varying hair and make-up styles for all my bridesmaids. What I liked most was that I still looked like myself, I didn't look drastically different with my hair and make-up done. This was really important to me on my wedding day. I was very happy with Portland Make-Up and Hair's service and I would recommend them to other brides!

Bri and her team of ladies, Tiffany and Jill, are INCREDIBLE! She and her crew recently did hair and makeup for myself, my bridemaids, and several other family members for my wedding. First off, she and her team are professional but really chill and fun to hang out with. They were also very accommodating with a couple last minute additions for hair and makeup. Everyone looked beautiful, without looking overdone or unnatural, and the photos are amazing! I am so happy I went with Bri and would highly recommend her.

From the first email I sent enquiring about availability, Bri was extremely responsive, professional and easy to work with. Dusti and Kyla, the stylists who worked with us during the trial and on the actual day, were wonderful. They made the whole process really fun and relaxing and everyone looked beautiful. I am SO HAPPY that Bri and her team at Portland Make-up & Hair beautified me and my 8 bridesmaids for my August 30, 2014 wedding. Before I was lucky to book Bri and her team for my wedding, I was extremely impressed with her Before & After pics of other brides. She is able to work her magic where she highlights people's natural beauty in a truly stunning way, without the make-up looking caked on or overdone. She was very receptive and so easy to work with, as I was deciding between different looks for my wedding day. Bri is also such a joy to be around--so sweet and so fun to talk to. On my wedding day, she made me feel so beautiful from how my make-up and hair were done. And I can be a sweaty beast where it was pretty warm and fairly muggy on my wedding day. But the make-up that Bri applied on me looked fresh from the morning till 2am, where I didn't really have to touch up my make-up, except for re-applying my lips with the pretty gloss color she created and provided extra for me to use later that day. One of my bridesmaids mentioned that of the times she has gotten her make-up and hair professionally done, that was the first time she was happy with the professional look as-is, where she didn't feel the need to make any of her own changes to the look. For my wedding, I got my hair and make-up done and surprised my sisters, mom, and mother in law with their make-up as well. [I highly recommend this kind of surprise! They loved it!] Bri and Jocelyn were OUTSTANDING. They were professional, courteous, and so fun. We were a bunch of gals who do not typically wear a ton of make-up, and they were really great at allowing our natural beauty to shine through without making us look like we were wearing caked-on masks. At the same time, they dolled us up enough to make us all feel so very pampered. And nothing smudged one bit the whole night! For my hair-- I got extensions and they looked fantastic. They are so easy to clip on and you couldn't tell at all that it wasn't my hair. It was very windy at my ceremony, but everything stayed in place, stayed curled, stayed perfect! I looked around for quite awhile to find the right hair & makeup crew and let me tell you--- don't waste your time looking anywhere else. Bri and her team are your best choice, hands down.

After doing a TON of research on hair & makeup options, I decided to contact Bri based on a recommendation from our photographer. From the moment I went in for my consultation, I knew that I would enjoy working with her. While, like all makeup/hair options, the price is a little steep it was worth every penny! Bri knew exactly what she was doing and nailed it on the first try at my consultation. It was such a relief to know that on our wedding day I didn't have to worry about how my hair and makeup would turn out! It looked gorgeous all day and night and had incredible staying power. Plus it looked stunning in pictures! I am so happy that I chose to go with Bri for my wedding day!

I just got married and Bri did both my hair and makeup. I was so, so, so happy with the quality of both. I live in California and planned my Portland wedding almost entirely by email. Bri always replied to my emails quickly and took care to answer all of my questions. She performs trials at her home studio which was very cute and clean. She looked at my inspiration photos and took the time to understand the style I wanted. On the wedding day, she and Sarah came to my hotel room to do hair and makeup for myself and members of the bridal party. They were great to work with: fun, polite, prepared, and able to stick to our schedule. My makeup and hair both lasted all night. I felt I looked flawless. I was initially a little nervous about looking overdone and I was skeptical about the false eyelashes. Let me say, "go for it!". You will not look over done. I felt like myself and my makeup was natural, just amped up for the specialness of the day. The lashes also looked natural, lasted all night, and then easily and comfortably came off with warm water and soap, but made a great impact in photos. I highly recommend Bri Ellis and the team from Portland Make-up and Hair.
