I cannot say enough positive things about PostOak, and the GM Trisha. I planned my Christmas-themed wedding from out of state and still had an easy experience finalizing and planning the big day. Trisha was so accommodating and helpful in the process of planning an out of state wedding. Trisha was someone who we bonded with immediately upon meeting, and we feel very lucky to have gotten to know her.
The PostOak staff was all very sweet and professional on the big day. Extra kudos to Chef Damien, who provided one of the best meals we’ve ever had! We had our initial dinner tasting with Damien and we’re extremely impressed with the amazing food he prepared. Our guests also raved about the dinner! Additionally, breakfast was provided to everyone staying at the lodge, complete with eggs, bacon, coffee, juice, oatmeal, and much more. This was very convenient for our guests and much appreciated.
The on-site lodges were one of the reasons we picked PostOak, since guests were coming from all over the country. The lodge provided a convenient and safe place to stay right on the property where the ceremony and reception was held. This made it very easy for guests to safely drink and not drive or wait for ride shares at the end of the night. The lodge also has a common room which gave our guests the opportunity to meet and mingle, not to mention play shuffle board, pool, and cards. Some guests even used the hot tub.
Another plus about PostOak is that they provide linens, tables, chairs, dinnerware, and bar services, which not all venues do. This made the list of vendors and to-do’s shorter than if we had to rent/book these items on our own. The bar selection was also very well received by our guests.
The space itself is absolutely gorgeous. There are several rooms to choose from for ceremonies, receptions, bridal rooms, etc. the Great Room and Dining Room feature huge stone fireplaces which provided a beautiful backdrop, especially for a Christmas wedding.
Overall, we cannot say thank you enough to the great staff at PostOak for helping in our big day and helping us achieve perfection! I can truly say our big day went flawlessly and perfectly, and that is due largely in part to the kindness and professionalism of Trisha and her team and PostOak.
Sincerely,
Veronica and Cody Lowry
Alysha was the most wonderful part of working with Postoak! She was amazing to work with and made using Postoak an amazing experience. It is a beautiful venue and you can really customize exactly what you want! The only warning I would have is to really go over the pricing of everything. They charge you for every little thing and have a lot of rules on what you can and can't do but if you stay on top of it and get everything in writing it is worth the hassle. I suggest getting a day of wedding planner on top of their wedding coordinator it made things run very smoothly.
Good Luck getting them to respond to any contact you try to make. Emailed them 2 weeks ago to ask questions and still haven't gotten a response. So glad this happened before i entered into a contract.
POSTOAK has a great team that makes your dream come true! Our wedding menu was unbelievable. Highly suggest POSTOAK for both catering and venue.
We booked Postoak because we were trying to reduce our stress in planning our wedding. Our initial wedding coordinator was nice but our contract was all wrong when we went to sign it. She said not to worry about it that we can fix any issues later without any problem... Well fast forward a month and she was no longer with the company... and all of the changes that we had requested mysteriously were lost.
Oh and good luck trying to get Postoak to ever call you back. Even after all of the headache we were still trying to give them money and they wouldn't even call us back to accept our payment. Once we got ahold of them, we tried setting up payments on a recurring basis. They couldn't even process those payments on time.
The place is good looking but the employees obviously do not care about their clients. Even the simplest request like trying to schedule a time for us to come up and visit in person has meet with week long delays on responses.
We've given up. Our next step is legal action.
I was recently in a wedding at Post Oak, the lodges were really great and we had an awesome time! I'm giving 4 out of 5 stars because the night before the wedding 3 of the bridesmaids got locked out of their room, Trapping all their belongings and other things they needed inside the room. When the Bride called the person to come out and check it and yet another room that the lock got stuck on, he was less than professional and honestly a little bit lazy... He checked the door and said he could not get either door open, One of the groomsmen was one of the individuals that got locked out and he asked to see the master key and immediately got his own door unlocked. The handy man came downstairs in a tiff and smarted off to the bride. Also, the female coordinator that my sweet friend paid to have at both her ceremony and rehearsal NEVER showed until the reception. My Mother ended up not getting to enjoy the ceremony because she was doing the coordinators job... other than those two things it was so great the lodges were spacious and the rooms were tidy and my kind, beautiful and loving friend made the MOST beautiful bride
I booked POL in November of 2013 & our wedding took place in September 2014. In that time span my wedding coordinator left & I was passed around to about 3 different coordinators/ managers of sales. They were all helpful and nice to work with. However, my first planner gave us totally different (and less expensive) quotes on things such as hanging paper lanterns in the great room. The new coordinators wanted me to pay double what I had already been told- luckily it was worked out & I had saved all my emails. Also the wedding package changed from the time we booked to the time of the wedding. Initially they had included a bride & groom room the night of (just a regular room but that's fine- we just wanted to party with our family & friends all night). So we had to provide the papers that had that info too. If you use this venue just keep all your papers & save all your emails! Our wedding day was perfect, we had about 200 people & had the ceremony at the arbor & had the reception in the great room (has an extra 500$ fee to use btw) and the evergreen room. The total cost was about 17,000$ just for the venue, food, 2 kegs of domestic beer (which were like 400$ a piece) and 20 bottles of wine and 15 bottles of bubbly (which were both like 22$ per bottle). The alcohol was totally over priced but we also added a cash bar for those who prefer liquor & as a back up if our guests drank all we paid for. Plan to spend about 54$ per person, anyone under the age of 10 is 1/2 price. That's not including alcohol btw. We had about 40 rooms booked that night so a lot of people stayed to continue to celebration. Yes it was a nightmare sorting all the people and making sure they were in the right cabin but the staff at POL made it as easy as they could. FYI you do not have to "block out cabins" in order for your guests to stay. We blocked out 18 rooms in the large lodge & then three of the small lodges because we thought that's what we had to do. But your guests can still get a room even if you don't block it off & you don't risk paying for empty rooms. But you do risk a non wedding guest booking a room. I was told the staff would serve our whole wedding party table a plate of food so we could all eat together but they ended up only serving the bride and groom so that erked me but no big. Also something that was annoying was the day of the wedding my coordinator called me to see if I could come up to POL and help tie fishing line to the paper lanterns that were to be hung (and we had paid them 100$ to do) she told me they wouldn't be able to hang them unless someone came and helped so that was a stressful moment because we had like 20 other things to do. Another annoying thing was that you have to clean up all your decorations the night of! Which I felt they should have since we paid so much. At the end of the night we all had a great time and many of us broke into the pool/ hot tub drank our own liquor/beer (which no outside food/drink is allowed) and celebrated until about 6:00am. Luckily we didn't get charged with any fees for bringing our own alcohol like they said... Even though beer cans and evidence was all over the front porches. We also had brunch the next morning for all the overnight guests- which was delicious but pricey. It was a great wedding & everyone is still talking about how beautiful & fun it was so if I had to go back and do it all again I definitely would!
The venue was beautiful, however the wedding coordinator for the lodge was not organized and tried to change all details and pricing over the last month prior to the wedding.
Beautiful locationOver-priced
Completely unorganized on the planning Employees for the most part were very nice With My daughters wedding was her dream wedding but had to fight for everything that we got and did a lot of arguing
Paid a LOT of money for the food and it was left out for about 45 minutes, many guests did not get to eat
They have a new wedding planner who is trying to get things corrected. We were unfortunatly in the middle of the change and there was no communication between anyone.
Management really needs to look at this.
The arguing that went on after the wedding was ridiculous. We were over charged on several items and had luckily had the proof.
Make sure you get everything in writing if you use them.
Also, beware of the scorpions - they were everywhere.
Post Oak Lodge was BEAUTIFUL! I loved the location and having the whole thing indoors saved a lot of trouble with bad weather. A few minor complications because of a change in management. Everyone handling my wedding quit, which was quite the headache. However, they really picked it up and did their best to give me a wonderful wedding! The thing I could not stand was their lodging requirements. Luckily we had a TON of out of town family, so we filled our requirement easily. But it was such a hassle and very confusing to figure out how to book the lodges/how other people paid for their own lodge/etc. They really need to change how that works. They also don't provide a day of coordinator. Which for more than $10,000 should REALLY be included. But overall it was a BEAUTIFUL place to get married and they made my day run very smoothly!
I chose Post Oak Lodge as the venue for my wedding. It is absolutely GORGEOUS! I didn't have to use very many decorations because the rooms are beautiful. However, they do like to charge for everything. If you want your rehearsal dinner there, rooms, alcohol, and food are all extras. However, the food is OUTSTANDING! The only problem we had with the rooms were that they didn't make sure there was enough towels or toilet paper in each room, so we had to ask for these things(multiple times). However, our wedding went off without a hitch thanks to the wonderful staff, and it was beautiful! Overall, I was extremely pleased with Post Oak Lodge.
Post Oak Lodge is a wonderful place to get married! They have several locations with several environments to choose from for your special day. I had my ceremony at the Arbor (outside) and the reception in their Great room and it was perfect!! They truly care about their bridges and making sure it is a perfect day. They are willing to help you any way possible. I recommend for any special event especially weddings!!!
First of all, we were slapped in the face with a 25% charge for service fees and taxes the week before our wedding! They made a point to put the phrase "(taxes and fees)" at the bottom but never took the opportunity to inform us exactly how much that would be until the last minute. Needless to say, we never expected it to be that much. The wedding coordinating staff was prompt at sending emails, but were almost never available to speak over the phone if you had a quick question. The site was beautiful and the food was wonderful, but after paying two thousand dollars to feed 85 people, they refused a to-go plate to my family, from a buffet (that was left over in the heating tray)! On top of everything, THREE HUNDRED DOLLARS WAS STOLEN OUT OF MY PURSE FROM THE BRIDE'S ROOM DURING MY 30 MINUTE CEREMONY!!!!!! The only thing the manager would do about the stolen money is call the police. So, I got to file a police report during my wedding reception! It was awful.
I absolutely LOVED getting married at Post Oak Lodge. The people who work there are so sweet and helpful, and everything went so smoothly. We had the rehearsal dinner, the ceremony, and the reception all at Post Oak and also all of the wedding party and family stayed at the lodge and had a BLAST. The food was incredible too!
The staff at Post Oak was great to work with. We had tables set up outside and when it started to rain they worked as hard as they could to move them inside and set them up as we previously had them decorated. I never had any worry knowing everything was going to be just they way I wanted it!
I knew the moment I saw the place in person this was it. It has so many outdoor options from woods to open fields. The main lodge where we had our reception was big enough to hold everyone. OUr family stayed the whole weekend at the lodges and we really made it a celebration. The staff was a joy to work with, everyone was always so helpful and eager to please. Definitely recommend Post Oak Lodge to anyone who wants a FUN, beautiful, different kind of wedding.
Post oak really is beautiful and I don't regret getting married there because I had no issues on and before my wedding . but if I could do it over I would because me and my husband got treated badly after the wedding. Not only was our final bill over charged by hundreds of dollars, they also randomly took out n umauthorized payment from our bank account for the wrong amount and told us they had a right to do that. The customer service is great when they are trying to get your business but after it's like you are nothing but crap to them. The departments at post oak do not communicate with each other to the point were it is unprofessional. None of the bills we received where ever verified for accuracy and it's as if their goal is to make you pay for extra things that you are not suppose to pay for . I will never do business with Post oak and I will not recommend this place to a future bride. The food is so expensive and it is not that great. Post oak is the mostunorganized business that I have ever dealt with. If you do HAVE to go with Post Oak just make sure to watch your bank account closely and pay close attention the bills you are sent because 99% of the time it will be wrong. If you can avoid post oak please do. It is not worth all the troubles in the end .
Post Oak Lodge was a gorgeous venue for my May wedding. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Everything was set up just as I wanted it and the food was wonderful. The reception was located in the Great Room with the fireplace and it was gorgeous. The ceremony was in the Evergreen room. It was a beautiful day and we had the windows open to see the trees and green grass outside. I would recommend Post Oak to anyone. Having the ceremony and reception in the same place was perfect.
I have wonderful things to say about Post Oak and horrendous things to say about them. After we signed the contract, they were suddenly hard to get in touch with, slow with replies. They also did some less than stellar things to us the week before the wedding. A week before they changed…like 7 things and I flipped out. One or two would have been okay but ALL SEVEN of them at once when we had previously discussed and agreed on them before…and to change them a week before the wedding-how horrible! Example-they tried to tell us we couldn’t have the rehearsal in The Arbor (where was ceremony was). Doesn’t that defeat at least half of the purpose of a rehearsal??
On the flip side, they were amazing the day of the wedding. The event director was there for our event and she was amazing. Anything that was wrong, she fixed. Example-I stayed the night before the wedding at the Lodge and they switched my room at the last minute due to A/C issues. The new room they gave me only had one bed and I needed two beds (girls staying with me) AND they put me right next to where my soon-to-be-husband would be and we were trying not to see each other before the wedding. I realized this after I got to my room and had everything outside the door. Not only did the director fix my room but she physically helped me move all of my stuff to the new room!! Above and beyond the call of duty. She was also full of helpful hints and suggestions when I asked. She acted like she cared about our day and I appreciated that very much.
The food was good. Mine came out cold but my guests said theirs was warm. It came out well timed and the wait staff was attentive. The chef did a good job at working with us on the menu and we got a food tasting.
Overall, beautiful day and wonderful wedding DAY experience. If you want to use them, get everything you discuss and agree upon into the contract AND expect delays when you need answers.
