Our wedding was everything we wanted and even more perfect than we could have imagined! The Red Lion Hotel was amazing and the staff were so helpful. We felt like they went out of their way to make our big day the best day ever. The process and timeline were great, the meetings throughout the engagement really helped our organization and made us feel on top of things! The Dauphin Room was beautiful and the food was great. The associated vendors are also amazing, our cake and florist were awesome as well! Love the Red Lion <3
Our wedding was absolutely fabulous- HUGE thanks to Brenda and her staff at Red Lion! Everything about working with Brenda was easy and she and her team took care of everything! All the vendors they suggested were phenomenal and affordable- DJ, flowers, cake, etc. Brenda kept us informed during every step of the planning process and always answered our questions patiently and thoroughly. In addition to the wonderful staff, the hotel itself was great. Since 70% of our guests were traveling in, they gave us a great group rate on the rooms and we were able to have all the people we wanted there because it was affordable for them to be there. The room was simple and gorgeous. We were in the upstairs ballroom with just under 100 guests and it was truly the perfect size. Working with the suggested vendors was great too because they had all done weddings there before so they already knew what to do- the day of was not stressful in the least bit! And the bridal suite was FANTASTIC! I loved having so much room to put all our wedding stuff in- we had hair and make up artists come in that morning to the bridal suite and there was plenty of room for my mom, sister, and me to get hair and make up done. It was really spacious. We also really appreciated all the help that the staff gave us day-of and after the wedding. We truly felt cared about and special. Brenda and Red Lion made our wedding truly awesome. We would absolutely recommend this venue to anyone looking for superb customer service and affordable rates. We stayed well within our budget and still had delicious food and beverages at the wedding. And I really can't say enough about the staff- they were awesome! Thank you, Red Lion, for making our wedding so amazing!
The hotel itself has some 70s decor but you will not find better bang for you buck or a more accommodating wedding coordinator. Expensive to fly to Harrisburg yet plenty of free parking for guests. Brenda graciously ordered white folding chairs for our outdoor ceremony on the deck.The pool was still open, however, staff kindly closed it off during the ceremony. Chef Kasey was very responsive to our food critiques and indeed made the food very flavorful and appealing to our Chinese and Latin guests. Really convenient how all the vendors work together to make it happen. We stayed in the Presidential Suite, which offered plenty of room for the bridal party to prep and hang out. Hotel staff were generous to let us use the ping-pong table by the indoor pool for an extra hour. Very courteous people to work with.
We are still talking about our amazing June wedding weekend at the Holiday Inn Harrisburg East! Brenda was a true gem to work with and was always there to assist me in any way she could. She was extremely organized which matched well with my OCD organization! We had out of town guests come in Friday, more guests arrive Saturday and had almost 40 rooms booked in total! The front desk passed out our welcome bags to all of our guest staying! Our 320 person reception in the Dauphin Ballroom was absolutely a night we will always remember. The food was AMAZING, the room was set up exactly how we planned and the maitre'd service was top notch. We were greeted in our room with champagne, desserts from our dessert bar/candy bar and a sweet card! We woke up the next morning to eat a delicious breakfast at our farewell breakfast hosted by my parents!! Thank you so much Holiday Inn Harrisburg East for allowing us the venue to have #thebestweddingever!
The Dauphin Ballroom was a great place to have a wedding reception! Brenda was a pleasure to work with during the planning process! She was very quick to answer any questions that we had and she was willing to do whatever she could to help us along the way. Angie was a really good maƮtre d! The food was good and all of the staff was very friendly. Thank you for an awesome night that will we will never forget :)
I had an AMAZING wedding and reception. The planning process was so much less stressful that it could have been if I went somewhere else. Every detail from decorations to the flow of the reception to the napkins was all organized and decided upon with ease. I loved the people who worked with me and they made us feel very special on our day. They were very attentive to my desires and needs and made sure everything I wanted to happen happen. The food was delicious and served in a timely manner. I would recommend this venue for anyone who wishes to have an indoor reception!

They were in communication through every step of the process and helped to streamline everything by providing a list of preferred vendors in the area they have worked with in the past. Brenda was super helpful and made the whole planning process much less complicated than it seemed at first! She listened to all of our needs and helped us to develop a plan that went off without a hitch on the day of. The reception was gorgeous and the service amazing! The entire staff worked hard to make sure everything went off without a hitch and we couldn't have been more pleased with the results!
I couldn't be happier with our choice to use the Harrisburg Holiday Inn East for our wedding reception. We were looking specifically for a hotel since we had many out of town guests. After looking at several other hotels in the area we were very excited with what we found at the Holiday Inn. They had many different wedding packages available and were willing to customize them to fit our budget. The vendors that we chose from their list for the cake and flowers did an excellent job. Brenda was great to work with and made the process very easy for us. Our wedding reception was fantastic. They had the room set up exactly how I had imagined it. They even took extra time to set up my candy buffet table so that it looked better than I had anticipated. Our food was great and the service was fantastic. I would definitely recommend this venue to a friend.
My husband and I absolutely loved our wedding reception! The Holiday Inn Harrisburg East accommodated every want and need for us. As a bride, I felt very at ease with leaving the entire reception set up with the hotel's reception coordinator. The job the wedding team did was amazing! Everything was done perfectly and my husband and I couldn't have asked for more. All those working that night, made the evening go very smoothly. My husband and I had no issues to have to stress about the entire night. Even leading up to the big day, my husband and I were able to express our worries to the wedding coordinator throughout our several pre-wedding meetings. In regards to the food served through the in-house kitchen, my husband and I received all positive comments. All the guests said the food was the best they ever had at a wedding. My husband and I too thought the food was very good! Overall, the experience was absolutely wonderful! Thank you Brenda (the wedding coordinator) for such a lovely and memorable evening. My husband and I thank you for everything you did for us. Thanks for being so accommodating to our needs. To all those reading this review, consider booking the Holiday Inn Harrisburg East. The Holiday Inn Harrisburg East was exceptional to work with for not only our wedding day but for the 10 months up to the wedding when we booked with Brenda. There were multiple meetings that were set up a few months in advance to make sure everything was the way we wanted it for our special day. The entire staff at the Holiday Inn made us feel at ease during our big day.
We had our ceremony in the PA ballroom and our reception in the Dauphin ballroom. We choose the Holiday Inn Harrisburg East because of everything they included in the package. We did not have to set up anything for the ceremony or the reception the staff did an amazing job at set up with what we requested. Our guests loved that everything was at one place!
I could not have asked for better service from the maitre'd who was amazing! At the end of the night we stayed at the hotel and we had the champagne we had for our New Year toast, two slices of our wedding cake and a set of new year hats placed on the table in the room, it was a great way to end the evening.

The Holiday Inn Harrisburg East was the perfect place for us to hold our wedding reception. The wedding coordinator, Brenda, was an absolute joy to work with from the very first day that we met her. She is very knowledgeable in her position and all of our questions were answered throughout the whole process without hesitation. She replied to emails very promptly, and you could tell that she was working with us to make our day exactly the way that we wanted it. It is apparent that she works very hard at making each couple feel special and works to make their wedding a unique experience, and she definitely did this for our wedding. We were blessed to have her be a part of the process of planning our wedding, and we would have been lost without her!
In addition to the wedding coordinator, the entire staff was equally as pleasant and attentive as she was. The Maitre D' assigned to our wedding went above and beyond to make sure everything went smoothly and according to planned. She met us at our limo when we arrived, had our bridal room set up beautifully for the bridal party and made sure that we never went without a drink in our hands and a smile on our faces the whole night. As a bride, it was a great feeling knowing that if I needed ANYTHING at all, I only needed to look across the room and she was there for whatever I needed next.
Also, I cannot praise the banquet staff enough! The food was EXCELLENT!! Our guests raved about how delicious the food was! The food was also served at a fast pace and was served hot. The waiters seemed to check on our guests frequently and the bartenders also worked very hard to make sure that no one waited for long for a drink. The bartenders also worked to put together a signature drink that we had desired for our reception, and it was delicious!! Everyone was drinking it all night long! Everyone was catered to throughout our reception and we are very grateful to the staff for that!
The ballroom was decorated beautifully. We did not have to worry about the placement of the favors, place cards, or anything else because it was all taken care of by the staff perfectly!
We loved that the wedding packages offered at the Holiday Inn included so much. Our cake, flowers for the centerpieces, linens, champagne, bridal suite for the night, and complimentary breakfast were included among a variety of other services as well. They offer great incentives to couples as well for signing a contract... a pre-paid Visa gift card as well as a chance to win $10,000 toward your reception!
Overall, our experience with Brenda and the Holiday Inn staff was great. If we had it to do all over again, we would choose the same venue and we wouldn't change a thing. There is no doubt in my mind that our wedding wouldn't have been as perfect as it was without the service of this amazing staff. I would recommend the Holiday Inn to anyone in a heartbeat!
I am so thankful to have connected with The Holiday Inn East. I reside in Atlanta, Ga. with Harrisburg being my home town and place of my Wedding. The service was second to none. When I say, Harrisburg took care of me, and made my day ever so special. Kind and knowledgeable staff who made sure I felt like a princess bride,in my mid-age.The accommodations for my Bridal party were very comfortable as the food and beverage served by well mannered staff and employees, the atmosphere was just wonderful. What I can not forget to mention is the professional skills and craftsmanship of the cake bakery and flower boutique The Holiday Inn works closely with, outstanding service and quality. Working with The Harrisburg Holiday Inn afforded me to make my wedding dreams come true.

I very much enjoyed my wedding reception being held at the Holiday Inn East. I worked with Brenda to make my reception exactly what I wanted. I loved that the Holiday Inn worked with certain cake shops and flower shops that the cost of my reception also included my cake and flowers for the reception. I was also able to bring in some extra items to help support the theme of my wedding.
The food at the reception was very good. I appreciated that a dinner was held before the day of my wedding to be able to come and taste the food that I could choose from in a reception-like setting. The cake vendors, flower shops, a local DJ, and other vendors were also invited to be in attendance for this dinner to allow people to see/taste their work.
The night of our wedding, a complimentary room was provided for my husband and I along with a bottle of champagne that was used for our toast at the reception.
Another thing I really liked about this hotel is that it is located so close to the airport. My husband's family is from out of state an many of them had to fly into Pennsylvania. The Holiday Inn is within 10 minutes of the airport and this allowed for easy travel to and from the hotel/airport.
Overall, I have no complaints with my experience with the Holiday Inn East. I felt like everything was reasonably priced and it was awesome to have a worry free day on my wedding day!
Brenda, the wedding coordinator at the Holiday Inn Harrisburg East, was a joy to work with. She was easy to get in contact with and responded to all of my questions quickly and thoroughly. She is very organized and experienced and even anticipated things that I didn't think of. The food tasted delicious, and the ballroom and dance floor were beautiful. The wedding packages, though they limit some options, provided very high quality at a great value. In fact, as a working woman, I appreciated that the options for a florist and baker were already narrowed down for me because it was two less vendors I needed to research and find on my own. Furthermore, the Holiday Inn only works with reputable vendors that meet their high standard for quality. It was a great experience that greatly reduced the amount of stress that can be associated with a wedding. I didn't have to worry about rentals or a separate caterer, all was included. Plus, our guests could just retire to their rooms following the reception without worrying about driving. I would definitely recommend the Holiday Inn Harrisburg East!
The Holiday Inn East did an amazing job hosting our wedding reception. Everyone there was friendly and helpful. The staff was great and we couldn't have asked for more. There was only praises from our guests and a good time was had by EVERYONE. I would totally recommend the Holiday Inn to anyone looking for a reception site.
We held our reception at the Holiday Inn this spring. The room was nice, the banquet staff was great, and it was a great value because we were able to work with the wedding planner to customize our meals and not be locked in to an expensive package. However, that's where the great ends. We were very disappointed with the wedding planner. As a bride, I really wasn't a bridezilla, but let's be honest, the focus is pretty much on you. In our meetings, Brenda seemed to only talk to my husband. I honestly felt ignored at some points. She also would send us emails but not include both of us on the emails so it was hard to keep everything organized and stay on the same page because she would send information to only one of us and my husband and I were living an hour apart at the time. It was honestly annoying to keep straight who had what emails when it's so easy to CC someone on an email. We were also disappointed with the food. Don't get me wrong, the food was really good, but it was not prepared the same way as when we went for our tasting. We sampled the mango chicken, and it was to die for! We were so excited and told everyone to order the chicken. At our reception, though, the chicken was grilled which gave it a completely different taste. The chicken at our taste test was not grilled. Overall, we made our reception awesome with our own touches and the family and friends there, but if we had to do it again, we would definitely spend the money to have a nicer reception somewhere else.
Brenda was easy to work with in planning all the details. She was quick to respond to any questions or concerns. I had received some compliments from guests regarding the service from the staff. The food was fine..not great, not bad..It was nice to have a variety of options and the cake was included in the package.

We had nothing but the best service from the staff at the Holiday Inn Harrisburg-East! Our contact, Brenda, was supportive and very knowledgeable. Leading up to the wedding she and her staff consulted us on everything from food, to seating arrangements, to decorations... And the day of the wedding we couldn't have been happier! The reception was perfect! The food was great, especially considering it was buffet. The service was quick and very polite. We got a ton of compliments from our guests.
