The Renaissance did the job. We had our wedding block here, and we used their banquet rooms for our rehearsal dinner and brunch.
The hotel rooms and banquet rooms were nice and clean, and the hotel bar was a great place for people to meet up. However, communication was exceedingly frustrating, and getting anything in writing was a major challenge. This would have been okay except throughout the process, several arrangements we made were ultimately not offered – including transportation to and from our venue, heating stations and even plates and silverware for our catered food. Organization is not a strength of this location. We found ourselves booking last minute shuttles just a few days before our wedding as a result of this.
That said, the catering staff were incredibly helpful and were able to fix most problems (which were at no fault of their own) quickly.

I don't even know where to begin in singing the praises of Michele and her team at the Renaissance! We just celebrated our daughter's wedding with them and from start to finish they took care of us like we were family! Michele was very patient with all of our questions as we navigated through the planning stages and leading all the way up to the wedding day! The night of the wedding could not have been more magical! AND she even had Santa come visit with us at breakfast the next morning!!!
Everyone has a vision for their/their child's wedding and Michele made it the most memorable of nights! If I could give 10 stars, I would!

Had my ceremony and reception here. Place was amazing food great staff was on point def worth the money. Michele Z the event coordinator was amazing ,very smart and professional made my day go off without any mistakes. It’s been newly renovated and that’s a plus for pictures.

The Renaissance wedding department manager, Michele Zurlo was awesome. We planned everything from out of state. She was detailed, pleasant and very helpful. She offered us great vendor referrals and the accommodations and reception were both great. Our guests gave many compliments on the great food and were surprised that the decor was planned long distance.

My husband and I held our reception at the Renaissance and we could not be happier. We loved how the staff at the hotel fulfilled our requests in a polite and timely manner. Our guests (who were mostly out of town and staying there) raved about their experience. Michele, the special events coordinator at the hotel, was quick to respond to our emails and to help us put our vision for our reception in motion and bring it to fruition. We are so happy and feel so blessed to have had our wedding reception at the Renaissance North Shore Hotel! It is truly an experience we will remember for the rest of our lives!

Michele and her team put in a lot of work to make our special day as great as it was. From the intial meeting to the booking to the tasting to the final days, there was clear communication and made my job so much easier. Michele was very patient and accommodating. We received a lot of positive feedback from our guests on the venue and food especially. Everyone kept saying that was some of the best food they've had at a wedding. We can't envision how it could have been any smoother or more fun. We highly recommend this venue for a wedding reception and ceremony.

Michele is such an amazing person and coordinator! She tiredlessly reviewed every detail about the planning process with us. We had so many questions and she always hand an answer for us. The hotel is very accommodating to our requests and the staff are always been ready to help. We had a beautiful wedding there. All the guests had a great time.

It was perfect! Michele is a pleasure to work with. She made us feel comfortable the entire process, from picking food to seat covers. Michele was a real professional. The wait staff at the venue was also exceptional. They knew our drinks of choice and made sure we didn’t go 15 minutes with out one. They were even able to go up to our room and grab flats for the bride. They truly went above and beyond for us and our wedding. 10/10 would do it again.

Michele and her team were absolutely amazing! From our initial meeting, they were organized, communicative and experts in event planning. Michele went above and beyond with every last detail during our wedding weekend and the venue truly made our event magical. We are so grateful to Michele and everyone at the renaissance!

After endless searching for venues in downtown Chicago, we stumbled across this hotel after we had already narrowed down our choices to other venues. Michele, our event coordinator, was hands down the best part of the entire experience and ultimately the reason why we decided to choose the Renaissance North Shore as the location for our wedding and reception. She was quick in responding to our emails/questions and explained everything very simple. She made sure I had the least amount of stress as much as possible, especially the day of the wedding. I had a lot of experience working with hotel event coordinators for my previous job and I can honestly say that Michele is hands down the best I have encountered. If I had to repeat my wedding planning for the beginning I would have chose this venue to begin with! Also, this hotel is a short drive from the Botanic Garden, which is an amazing location to take photos!

The Renaissance is a beautiful hotel with amazing staff. This suburban hotel gave my guests the feeling of a boutique city hotel without the crazy price tag. The staff was professional and extremely helpful, ensuring every detail was just right. For the day of, the getting ready rooms were fantastic and helped make the entire day perfect! My guests raved about the food for dinner, and we loved using the bar area after the wedding! Not enough great things to say about this wedding venue!

My fiance and I knew we wanted a venue that was a hotel, so that our out of town guests could easily spend the night and not get lost traveling from one place to another. We looked at a few hotels in the area, but instantly knew we wanted to book at the Renaissance after talking to Michele, the event planner. She was the type of person who when you talk to her, you instantly know that they are very good at their job. She was asking questions that we didn't know we should be asking and planning for details that we didn't know to plan for. Michele helped our whole event run smoothly. The hall and cocktail hour were set up beautifully, and we didn't have to worry about anything that night. Michele was waiting for us when we arrived at the hotel and made sure it all ran smoothly. After our reception, I spoke with a relative who had booked a room and there was some type of mix-up with the number of beds (not sure who was to blame), but the guest was not only given a room to meet her request, but they also gave her a bottle of wine to compensate for the inconvenience. The following morning, Michele helped us to arrange a breakfast for all of our guest, which was the perfect way to end the weekend. If you're looking to work with an experienced professional who makes your wedding day carefree, I highly recommend having your reception at the Renaissance.

Once we saw Renaissance Chicago North Shore Hotel for the first time, we knew the search for our wedding reception venue was over! My now, husband and I planned to get married 4-5 months after the first time we visited Renaissance. Our contact was Mariya who we communicated with over e-mail, as I was still living in Canada at the time. We were able to meet Mariya in March 2016 and she was a pleasure to work with, welcomed all our questions and concerns and was very understanding that my family and in-laws were out of towners, only my then, fiance, lived in the area. Mariya was very punctual and detailed in her responses as most of the communication was done on email and phone. It helped that Renaissance had many contacts for the cake, table decor, photobooth, which made it so much easier with the planning process! We loved Renaissance, some advantages and highlights we found: - Modern design and classy atmosphere - Uplighting available - Beautiful ballroom - Room blocks for guests - Ample parking - Delicious variety of food - Getting ready rooms for bridal party - Complimentary suite for bride and groom and much more! Now, 5 months later, our family and guests continue to share with us how much they enjoyed our reception venue and how friendly all the staff were! Thankful for Mariya who was always so patient with us and always had a smile on her face! Bill in the lobby was very friendly and always welcoming! By the first day we met, he already knew us on a first-name basis! We could not have had a better team, Mariya and staff, helping us and our reception looked more beautiful than we ever imagined!

Mariya is best! She is very professional and helpful! Always so quick for the response to your email, message, phone call. We cannot make the wedding happen without her help.
The price is very good, especially among the rich Northshore neighborhood.
We had the cocktail party and the reception in seperate room, which having people on the eight floor with petio for the cocktail, and first floor big ballroom for the reception, which is awesome! Thanks Mariya again for making this hapeen.
Even the preparing room for our bridal party are so nice , high end.
The cake included is very delicious and pretty. Ps, Oak Mill is the bakery vendor.
One thing want to point out. The food is not that perfect. When we did the tasting, the beef is over cooked; so we asked it medium. But on the wedding day, it was too raw. That is the only thing not that perfect. I understand it's hard to make dinner for so many people all together. May need more communicating with the Chef.
Overall, our wedding is amazing. :)

Mariya and the staff at the Renaissance were wonderful. They had great ideas and everything about our reception was beautiful. The small details they recommended really brought everything together. We got so many compliments on how delicious the food was and how beautiful the room looked. Each person we worked with to plan the day was responsive and helpful. Our day was perfect from start to finish. I would recommend this venue to anyone looking for a wedding location in the northern suburbs.

When I walked in the Renaissance hotel it was like the place was made for my wedding. Everything in the lobby was purple and silver which were the colors of my wedding. The Northbrook ballroom was perfect size for my guest list and I loved the large hallway outside for the cocktail hour with the cute furniture and stairs down to the room with the arched doorways. Everyone was very friendly at the hotel. Kristin was a joy to work with as she is on top of everything and so sweet! I highly recommend working with her. I forget his name but the man who stayed all night in the room running the staff was awesome. He was kind and always asking me and my parents if we needed anything and if everything was good. The tech guy (Mike I think) was so helpful in setting up our video slideshow, especially because it wasn't working last minute with our projector, but he came to the rescue and the video was perfect. The room was decorated and so gorgeous. The food was absolutely delicious, even the late night snacks! I had my ceremony in the same room and it was put together so nicely and the staff did an amazing job transforming the room during the cocktail hour while letting us quickly take photos at the alter while they were tearing down the ceremony to put up the reception. We took a shuttle to the Chicago Botanic Garden for photos and it was so beautiful, even with the trees mostly bare! Our wedding night had the first snow of 2014 and it was beautiful seeing the snow covered ground at night outside. We love the hotel so much we are going back next weekend for our one year anniversary and spending the night there again. The photos we took in the hotel are beautiful, especially the ones in the lobby with the matching purple and silver! I knew the Renaissance was the place we should get married the minute we walked in it! I definitely recommend having your wedding at the Renaissance Chicago North Shore Hotel!
The bar in the hotel stayed open until 2am for us and the beds were so comfortable to sleep in, even my guests told me that! Having a brides room all morning to have our hair and makeup done in their and food and drinks was awesome!

Everyone here was so lovely! If I needed anything the faculty were there in a heartbeat to help me out. Not to mention the room I stayed in was great! Comfortable, clean and spacious. Definitely would recommend!

To make a long story short, I was told by my contact that they would "let me know when my room block was approaching full", which of course they did not. I had guests who didn't want to "bother me" going to other hotels to book. This was a problem for me because we had booked transportation to our venue from the hotel. When I called them, they said "oh yeah, I see your hotel block is full, and there is nothing we can do about it because we are full that weekend". The contact between myself and the hotel was often slow, lagging, and responses would come days later. I wanted to cancel the block, but it was weeks before the wedding and I couldn't do it. I will say that the service during our wedding weekend was AMAZING. The hotel staff was great and they did everything to make us happy (including removing the fee for internet access for the presidential suite). If you have to book here due to the closeness to the CBT for your wedding, I would sit down and underline your terms and conditiosn IN PERSON before booking a contract.

The hotel is gorgeous. The food was amazing. All my family and friends thought we spent a lot more than we did. The only down side was a new Carering Director that is seriously struggling with learning her job. Everyone else I worked with at the hotel was fantastic and made the process easy.

I can not rave enough about the Renaissance North Shore and Jeaneatte Ocampo. I visited many venues before choosing the Renaissance and none compared in value. Jeanette was great to work with and very responsive. You could tell she truly cared about how well my day would go. She was there for every step of the process. We chose stations instead of a plated meal (mashedpotatoes, carving, pasta, fiesta, and ice cream sundae). Our guests were raving about the food and the experience. They said it was some of the best food they ever had let alone best wedding food. It was absolutely delicious. The staff was hospitable and kind the entire night. The room (The Northbrook Ballroom) was gorgeous and just as I had envisioned it. When looking for a venue no other place provided a as large or a cocktail area and ballroom. My husband and I do not drink and Jeanette was willing to work with this unique aspect to our reception, which many venues turned us down because of. She helped us create a perfect evening that we will remember for the rest of our lives. Thank you so much Jeanette!
