We held our wedding at the River Lodge at River Landing and I could not have asked for a better team to help through the process. Carrie was the absolute BEST. Carrie was super supportive, professional, and friendly though the whole process. She will walk you though the whole process and how everything works. Shelli helped us with booking rooms for our big day and was really helpful as well. When you book with River Landing you can pick your own vendors for your big day except for food and beverage. But let me tell you our food was AMAZING we did the Italian Buffett and my husband and I loved everything and so did our guests. The serving staff was perfect! They were so friendly and really made the day special! Thank you guys so much for the most perfect day!
Loved having my wedding here! I had my wedding in the ballroom. The grounds are beautiful and Carrie was so helpful throughout the process.
Booked a suite upstairs for getting ready and the night of. Many of my family members took advantage of the hotel room block as well.
The River Lodge at River Landing was a beautiful setting for our outdoor September wedding. Meagan was our assigned event coordinator and she was so responsive and attentive during the planning period. We had 100s of questions for her, and she answered each one in a timely and helpful manner. River Landing caterers also supplied our food, and it was delicious. We have gotten many compliments on the food served! We also booked out several of the rooms for guests to stay (as most of our family came in from out of town) and the rooms were spacious and a great space to get ready in. There was a bit of a bug problem in the rooms, but in this area there is only so much you can do about that. My biggest disappointment is that they forgot to save us the top layer of our wedding cake to freeze for our one year anniversary. My husband and I are pretty bummed about that as we also did not get any cake on our wedding night (we were too busy dancing the night away). However, of all the things that could have gone wrong… I am certainly okay with it being that.
The most beautiful place and the most incredible people ever. We were instantly treated like family. Everyone went out of their way to make our weekend perfect. If you are looking for a perfect place to get married look no further.
They were professional and accommodating to our wedding party, especially during a pandemic! Our day felt magical as we hoped it would be. Thank you!
I reserved a room for a wedding I was to be attending and paid for the room in full at the time of booking. The wedding was unfortunately and unexpectedly cancelled 12 days prior to the wedding. I called the venue to cancel my reservation and was told that I had not yet been charged for the room. Upon referencing my banking statement, I was able to find the day I was charged $180 by River Landing. Suddenly they were also able to now see that yes, I had actually been charged.
I was then told by Shelli that I could “call the bride or groom to discuss what they agreed to in their contract,” but that the room wouldn’t be refunded to me as it was 2 days last the 14 day cancellation policy.
To suggest that the appropriate action is to call the bride or groom following the unexpected cancellation of a wedding is absolutely unacceptable. 12 days notice is 12x more notice than would be required at any other establishment, and allowing the venue nearly 2 weeks to recoup and rebook the room.
On top of this, two other guests who were also set to stay at River Landing told me that the person they had spoken to on the phone told them they would not be charged for the cancellation.
For River Landing and specifically Shelli to handle this unfortunate situation with such poor taste and discretion has made this experience go from bad to much, much worse. On top of that, apparently the same policy does not hold true for every caller, as some people were not responsible for the cancelled room, though unfortunately I am out $180 for a room I will not use. A very disappointing and poorly handled situation.
I tell all of my single friends when they get married they should seriously consider River Landing for their ceremony and reception. With multiple options for ceremony and reception locations and at reasonable prices, my husband and I could not go wrong. Carrie was absolutely wonderful and accommodating for every request we had. I loved the fact that I could have my ceremony and reception in the same place and have it all catered by the same people. The food was absolutely delicious and here I am a month later still trying to figure out how they made everything so tasty. I would recommend this venue to anyone who asked.
Beautiful Venue! Helpful Staff! Wonderful Suites! However, the food was not so good ☹
This venue is GORGEOUS!! I was married at the River Lodge which is a rustic location. They have lots of other options for a wedding as well such as the ballroom-style clubhouse and golf course lawn. Everyone commented on how beautiful the venue was. They treat their brides very well. The only delta I have for them is that you more than likely will not be the only wedding happening on your day. You will not have to share a coordinator and I didn't feel any less special knowing there was another bride/wedding at the same time. The only thing that did happen was some guests were confused of where to go. We had people from the other wedding come to our site and vice versa, but they quickly figured out they were at the wrong site and were at the correct wedding in time. There were signs directing guests where to go, but it would have been clearer if the signs included the specific wedding names. Overall I recommend this venue!
River Landing is absolutely gorgeous! As far as the venue I have no complaints. It was the perfect venue for what I had pictured. I do feel like the staff could have been better with communication and helping the bride feel more prepared. Even up to my wedding day I felt lost. I didn't know what time someone from the venue would be meeting with us, none of the details with set up had been discussed in great detail, and we had to keep asking questions that we should have already had answers to. For example, I was told we would have golf cart access; yet we had to track someone down to see if we could get one because there weren't any put aside for us. Then my wedding coordinator didn't show up the day of the wedding. I found out right before that someone else was going to be filling in for her. However, the girl that was put in my coordinators place was great. The staff working our wedding was great. The food was amazing as always! My guest couldn't stop talking about how great everything tasted. I wish we would have had the same experience with the cake. Our wedding cake was leaning and the wrong color. I can't say that I was too surprised because it was almost impossible to get in touch with the baker. There were several unanswered emails and phone calls not returned. All in all I'm still happy I chose River Landing. I would just suggest staying on top of everything from beginning to end to make sure that come your wedding day there are no surprises and you can enjoy your day stress free.
Absolutley GORGEOUS venue hidden in the small town of Wallace. My guests are still talking about how beautiful everything was and how nice and helpful the staff was. The selling point is the multiple venues from the ballroom to the river lodge and everything you need is on site. My close family stayed in the cottages and the suites above the ballroom were used for the bridesmaid and groomsmen rooms where we got ready. There is also a third suite which we used our wedding night. If it rains there is a beautiful covered veranda as an alternative option for an outdoor lakeside ceremony. Loved the catering manager, Kristen. She made planning this wedding so easy and was always there to answer a question or make a suggestion. I would recommend this venue to all of my friends getting married in the future!
