My husband and I knew that we wanted to have our wedding on Orcas Island, and for us, the only option was Rosario. The property was perfect for our tastes as it is both charming and beautiful, well-kept and rustic. Jolene Versailles and Lori Fast were a dream to work with. They are easy to reach and keep in communication with you throughout the planning process. The site where we got married – the Point Lawn – is seriously the stuff of dreams. Pristinely manicured landscaping atop a hairpin bluff that overlooks the water and rolling hills of the island with 360 views – Breathtaking. Then the reception venue, the beach house is just a short 5 min walk. It has a deck with more beautiful views, a well-manicured side-lawn and deck perfect for cocktails, and the front of the reception hall has floor-to-ceiling windows with views of the water, which makes a perfect setting for the head table. The venue is made for your band, as there is an alcove for them in the back, and the beach house deck has shade and power hook-ups for them to do a small set during your cocktail hour. The ONLY negative thing I will say in this review is that the beach house does have a rather dated/conference roomy look to it, the carpet is pretty ugly ect... but this is nothing that a good florist and decorations person can’t fix. Then when the party is over, people can walk 5-10 minutes to their room. This is a BIG reason why we loved this venue – it is so easy for guests, there is so much to enjoy right on the property, and there is no drunk driving after your reception. Now to the catering. If you have your wedding at the resort you are required to use their catering and drink services, you can find your own pastry chef for your cake. Trust me this is not a problem; the catering menu is AMAZING. We had the soy-glazed salmon and coconut rice and Rosemary steak as entree options – people were still raving to me about the passed appetizers and food at our wedding 2 months later. The drinks were really spot on as well, and they were very flexible in catering to our signature cocktails, finding fresh ingredients to make it taste artisanal. The service staff are incredibly professional. I brought my own recipe for a cookies and cream cake that their pastry chef executed past my expectations. My mouth waters just thinking about it. So many elements of our wedding were tied in with the resort and they were all executed flawlessly. They really work hard to make your vision of your wedding come true here. The adult pool is amazing, and there are lots of organized events that can depart from the docks of the resort – we organized a private whale watching tour that our guests really loved. PLUS for those who are flying in, they can land via seaplane on the docks of the resort – doesn’t get more direct than that! The prices for rooms are very reasonable and you will NOT have any problems holding enough rooms for your guests – they really bend over backwards to make sure all guests have a room. If you are looking to have a fairy tale wedding of your dreams on Orcas Island or anywhere in the San Juans, stop looking around and call Rosario. You can thank me later.

Rosario resort is the perfect venue for creating lifelong memories of an amazing wedding weekend. Our daughter and son-in-law were married at Rosario in July 2018 and it was an outstanding experience. The resort is small enough that you really feel like it’s your place for the weekend and large enough to provide many opportunities for recreation in addition to the wedding festivities. The Point Lawn was a stunning venue for the wedding ceremony, but the beach house lawn would also have been beautiful. A huge added plus is the wonderful back up venue that the music room provides. There’s no need to obsessively look at your Weather Channel app to see if it’s going to rain because you will have a lovely indoor option if needed. In addition to the absolutely spectacular setting, the ability to settle in for an entire wedding weekend provides everyone the opportunity to connect, play, and enjoy each other. If you’re weighing whether or not to have a wedding in town or weekend at Rosario, there really is no contest. Prospective couples/families might notice that the Beach House reception area is a bit dated and could use a remodel. However, in the capable hands of Veronica from Orcas Events and Cindy from The Nest floral design, this space can be transformed into an elegant venue. The bank of glass windows looking out on the bay provide a stunning view and the deck is the perfect place to enjoy a warm summer evening if you’d like to step away from the music and the dancing. The staff at Rosario resort are exceptional. Jolene and Lori provided caring, creative, and can-do help in planning the event. They continually checked-in with us all weekend to see how everything was going. April, the banquet manager, went out of her way to address every request and worked above and beyond expectations with extra touches like moving the flowers from the wedding reception site to decorate tables at the morning breakfast at the mansion. Jesse, the chef, provided a delicious buffet for the wedding and was back the next morning with incredible energy doing everything he could to accommodate our needs at breakfast. The wonderful ladies at the front desk were very helpful and enthusiastic. We felt like they were truly excited to be part of our celebration and made every effort to help us all feel special. Rationally, we know that Rosario is having weddings continuously through the summer, but the hospitality of the resort was so exceptional you felt like your event was the most special wedding of the season. Our daughter and son-in-law were thrilled with their wedding and our guests described their experience as “remarkable,” “extraordinary,” ”spectacular,” and “fantastic”. Mission accomplished thanks to the wonderful people at Rosario!

My daughter's wedding was stunning. The ceremony site perfect with such gorgeous views. The staff warm and welcoming. Food was delicious, served with wonderful wines. Our rooms were great, all with wonderful views of the islands and the water. Truly a wonderful experience.

Rosario Resort is the perfect wedding venue. It is a blend of beautiful views, great accommodations, great food, the Moran Manson, history, boat moorage, pools, spa, lovely grounds, Island time, and a great staff. One wedding per weekend at this venue increases its appeal as the wedding party, family and friends enjoyed a wedding and a vacation. Our daughter and son-in-law were married there in July of 2015. The whole experience exceeded our expectations. The Point Lawn for the wedding was spectacular and the Beach House with its own Chef for the reception was perfect. The hors d'oeuvres , dinner, and wine were exceptional. We highly recommend the band "Wingmen" for a great evening of music and dancing. The staff, especially Jolene, Lori, and Keali attended to our every detail and need. They were exceptionally organized, timely, receptive, available, genuine and friendly. Working with them from the time we booked Rosario until the final details after the wedding was seamless. A daughter's wedding is such an incredibly special moment in your life and when everything around you works for this memorable day, it increases the joy and makes the whole experience enjoyable.
