It’s wild to look back and “review” Salvage One because it has become so synonymous with our wedding day. Salvage One was the first venue my fiance and I looked at and we fell in love with the space immediately. The ceremony space and the disco ball in particular stole our hearts. On the day of, our guests had so much fun guessing the prices of pieces of furniture, playing foosball, and dancing under the disco ball.
In addition to the whimsy of the space, their team is incredible. From the very first tour of the space, to answering random emails with spur of the moment questions, to intentionally creating a floor plan based on who we wanted closest to us day of - the Salvage One team, and specifically Colleen, ensured we were well taken care of. We highly recommend booking Salvage One for your next event!

Salvage One was the most fabulous venue for our July 2024 wedding! When we toured this space, we immediately fell in love with the vintage eclectic vibe and loved that the downstairs, courtyard and upstairs were all included with the rental, plus that the inventory in the store would make up our dinner table and chairs. The giant wooden elephants flanking the ceremony space also made for a unique and memorable touch! The architectural features and beautiful furniture in this space meant we really didn't need much decor or florals to enhance the space which helped us save a lot. The upstairs dance floor had plenty of space to dance the night away (plus a disco ball) and two great stage options; the smaller of which we used for our DJ and the larger one for speeches and cake cutting. The indoor and outdoor spaces are truly versatile and really offer something for any couple. Colleen and her staff were so fantastic (and fun!) to work with throughout the whole planning process and were great at answering all of our nitty gritty questions. They were familiar with all of our vendors and all worked so great together which made for a smooth and stress-free wedding! All of our guests complimented us endlessly on how beautiful and cool the venue was and how well it fit mine and my husband's personalities. We absolutely loved our wedding at Salvage One and hope we can be guests at an event there sometime soon so we can relieve our magical day!

Salvage One was the absolute perfect venue for our wedding. It was unique and offered flexible spaces which eliminated the need to "flip" the space. The team at Salvage One, especially Colleen, were so great to work with and were so helpful and supportive throughout the wedding planning process. I could not recommend this place and this team enough. We would get married here a hundred times over and still not be able to utilize all the incredible spaces, merchandise, and offerings of the space. 10/10!

I attended a wedding in 2014 at Salvage One and knew, if I got married, I'd want to get married there. Fortunately, my wife agreed, and it was no contest between the scant few options we considered before settling on S1!
The entire staff of this place is absolutely a dream, with special accolades to Kelly and Colleen--they're always on the ball, ready to answer emails whenever, and have the best attitude when it comes to planning things. They went above and beyond in helping us finalize our seating arrangements, even garnering us an extra table. Beyond that, S1 let us keep our decor overnight and was incredibly accommodating to all of our special needs guests on the day. We couldn't have asked for anything more to make us and our guests feel like we were at home during our wedding.
My wife and I love Salvage One, because they gave us the gift of a perfect wedding day. What else is there to say? Best wedding venue in Chicagoland, hands down!

We didn't even look at any other venues because we knew Salvage One was the perfect choice for us! Barely needed any decor, and so many cool things to look at. Our guests loved the eclectic style and we felt right at home with all the vintage mish mash of the space. Communication with the venue was on point! Definitely a splurge, but well worth the price considering we skipped floral and other miscellaneous decoration expenses as the space is already so funky.

Salvage One was already one of our favorite venue choices before we started going on our tours, but after seeing it we knew it was the one! It's so unique and we loved getting to use such beautiful decor without having to buy or rent it! They were able to work with us on having a few extra tables for our beer blending unity ceremony and for our illustrator who did portraits of our guests (one downstairs for cocktail hour and another upstairs during the reception).
Colleen and Kelly were great to work with! The more we worked with them the more we could tell they really knew what they were doing and that things would probably go smoothly on the big day, and they did! They were very responsive to questions and emails. Their system for creating table arrangements was super helpful for information I also needed to give our coordinator. And we loved their suggested vendor list, basically all our vendors came from that list!
Our wedding ended up having around 80 guests, and the size was very nice for that number, I was a little worried it would look empty. Our guests fit into the pews in their indoor ceremony area with room to spare without looking sparse. Our 10 tables upstairs at dinner gave guests room to move around and still had plenty of room for the dance floor which we needed when guests got a quick dance lesson, the disco ball was a fun bonus too!

I knew Salvage One was going to be our wedding venue from the second we stepped inside! The entire space has so much character and is incredibly charming and breathtaking, without even needing an abundance of decor to spruce it up. We never even had to leave the premises to get photos because there are so many many different unique and beautiful spots both in, and outside, the venue! Every guest that we spoke with, both during the wedding and after, commented on how beautiful and unique the venue was and how they had never seen anything like it.
We were in contact with both Kelly and Colleen leading up to the day and both were very helpful in answering any questions we had—Kelly was especially great during the walkthrough at explaining everything and coordinating with our vendors and making sure they knew everything they needed to!
If you're looking for a beautiful, unique wedding venue, we would highly recommend Salvage One!

We got married at Salvage One on July 2nd 2022. It’s an absolutely beautiful and unique venue, and we got lucky with weather good enough to have our ceremony in their outdoor courtyard. They were generally flexible with us throughout two covid postponements as we were supposed to get married in 2020, then 2021, and finally 2022. One thing to be aware of is there is a company directly next door to the venue that rents their parking lot out for outdoor events, and we found out one week before our wedding date that they were planning to host an EDM concert with up to 1,000 people in attendance. Not exactly the news you want to hear that close to the wedding date, but we understand it’s not a normal occurrence for them, and typically their outdoor events are not that large or loud. In the end it wasn’t as bad as it could have been - the outdoor courtyard was shielded enough for us to still have our ceremony outside, and other than some windows rattling during the father of the bride speech, and having to find a last minute valet (which was very costly) it could have been worse. While we were hoping the venue would have been more flexible in working with us a bit more on this, they did end up helping to cover a small portion of the valet fee. We had hoped with the last minute issue coming up and all that we had on our plate in the final week, they could have done more in helping us secure a valet. One last note, we found out after the wedding that the front door was locked for a time during the ceremony while the mother of the bride was running to her car, and she was unable to get back into the venue for about a half hour, causing her to miss the first dance. Highly suggest either ensuring that the door does not get locked, or that a sign gets put up so that late guests have a way to enter if the door is locked. Overall, we are still happy we chose Salvage One. We had a few things happen that were less than ideal, but in the end we had a great wedding and reception and have some great pictures in this unique venue.

I don't think you can find a more wonderful venue, if you want beauty, character, flexibility in decor, excellent response for information and a very helpful staff! We loved everything about Salvage One, and so many of our guests remarked on what a fabulous venue it was! It is spacious, clean and has a really great vibe for a celebration. They were helpful throughout the planning and on the night of the wedding itself. A huge five stars, wish I could give 10!

We had an absolutely wonderful experience with Salvage One for our 130 person wedding! They are extremely easy to work with and the space is absolutely gorgeous. So many of our guests commented on how cool it was to see the antiques and explore the space, especially the first floor during cocktail hour. The second floor was perfectly set up for dinner and dancing. We had a fantastic wedding here and would highly recommend Salvage One to anyone.

Stop looking for another venue- Salvage One is the best. From the moment we had our first tour we fell in love with the store and with the staff. They were such an ease to work with, accomodating us as we continued to evolve the form of our wedding during COVID, and were incredibly helpful. Our guests were blown away by how beautiful and unique the space was. We could not have had a better spot for our wedding!

My husband and were fortunate enough to be recommended this venue by another venue owner in Chicago. She quickly realized we were looking for a more electric and unique space and sent us over to Salvage One…we are so glad she did! Nestled in West Town this space has so many layers to explore. The first floor is full of nostalgic treasures, the old church pews and vintage chandeliers provided a romantic and spiritual atmosphere for the ceremony. If you feel so inclined, you can purchase a chandelier used during your wedding! The courtyard and the light up “Chicago” sign were so whimsical and made for incredible photos. The showstopper is certainly the second floor with a timeless bridal suite and lovely reception space full of perfectly mismatched tables and stained glass. Plus a disco ball to dance the night away under. Unfortunately, we were a COVID couple and adjusted our 140 person spring wedding to an intimate fall wedding with 18 guests livestreamed for the rest of friends and family. Colleen and Kelly were very flexible and open to our ever-changing plans. In addition, they are very passionate about the space and have really vetted all of the vendors they choose to do business with. The rental fees are higher than other venues in Chicago but if you can keep your décor costs low, the space is worth it! Regardless, I encourage everyone to spend the afternoon with a special someone perusing all of their ever-changing treasures!

We loved our wedding at Salvage One in September 2018- it is such an incredible space! Our guests are still talking about it now. The space is so unique- you need very minimal decor. We had 280 guests comfortably. Communication with the Salvage One staff was great- they timely answered my emails and we met prior to the wedding for all final logistics. The staff let me know when other weddings similar to my size were setting up- I went several times to get inspiration for my wedding, which was very helpful. We were married off-site, had cocktail hour on the first floor, and dinner and dancing on the second floor. We loved having the outdoor space as well. We had an afterparty at Output Bar, which is just around the corner.

An incredibly unique venue that had all our guests talking! The ceremony reception looked like a chapel and made our more religious family happy even though we did not get married in a church. Our guests loved browsing the cocktail area and some even purchased items. The reception hall is truly amazing with the wooden tables, couches, chandeliers, bar and stain glass. We cannot rave enough about Salvage One and the beautiful wedding venue it offers with so many special touches.

We had our wedding in June 2019 for 200 people at Salvage One and it was great! Honestly, the venue was probably the hit of the wedding. People loved it.
The store is open on Fri/Sat/Sun and depending on when your wedding starts you get to start setting up 3 hrs prior, so it overlaps with some of end shop hours. So I would often go about 1/2hr before closing time on one of those days to see how other people were setting up for their weddings. I went often. Even contacted Salvage One a couple of times to find out when weddings of a certain size similar to our wedding would be happening, that way I could specifically look at how those weddings were getting set up rather than risk going on a day when no wedding is happening or a significantly smaller wedding.
Salvage One was quick to respond whenever had a question via email. I was for some reason under the impression we would get a little more say as in like where certain stain glass would go or where certain chandeliers would go for the wedding, but we didn't (which honestly wasn't a bad thing cause it all looked great). The staff there was good the day of the wedding.
Main thing with a wedding there is it's a lot for you to do cause you're in charge of finding a caterer, liquor, dj, table decor and any other decorations you want along with decoration clean up at the end of the night. We didn't have a wedding planner tho and did all the decorations ourselves, so that would probably take off some of the load. However, I managed it and sort of liked that me and my family were so heavily involved.
Only bad thing I'd say is, we had our wedding first week of June and it was probably like low 70's outside (so not bad temperature wise), but ended up getting a bit uncomfortably hot on the 2nd floor reception area which does have AC (1st floor doesn't but 2nd does). Their air was blowing but didn't really feel cool. However, we had 200 people and the main decorations for our tables and window sills were candles (I want to say we had over 400 some candles), so that may have been an additional cause of the heat.

My January wedding at Salvage One legitimately couldn't have been more perfect. If you're looking for a unique space in this city open to being flexible to your needs and vision - this venue is for you. I have absolutely no negative things to say about S1 - I would have my wedding there 10 times over.

What a fabulous place! We had our daughter's wedding here in September, and everyone loved it. It is so unique to start with, and then they customize it (a little) for you. It is beautiful in a funky way, which was just the vibe my daughter and son-in-law wanted. The downstairs, where we had cocktails, is chock full of antiques and bric a brac, perfect for photos, and the upstairs ballroom is spacious and beautiful. The weather was great so we were able to use the pretty outdoors for cocktails, too.

We fell in love with Salvage One just steps after walking through the front door, an experience of awe and wonder shared by each of our guests when they arrived which set the tone for the entire evening. It's truly a one-of-a-kind event venue—not only for the unique and eclectic space and furnishings, but also for the unparalleled attention to detail and service in the planning and execution of each event. Erin and Colleen and the entire Salvage One team are EXPERTS (and of course they are—they host multiple weddings every week), and their experience and professionalism (paired with a chill, laidback attitude) made the process low-stress and fun.
The best part about Salvage One is that the space itself becomes the decor. We had so much fun adventuring around the upstairs spaces for photos, and then were able to kick back and relax with our family and bridal party in the massive suite. With just some candles and greenery, the venue was transformed—and was the perfect size for our 150 guest wedding. Everything was so magical and romantic and whimsical and authentic—totally out of a dream! Couldn't imagine a better space, or a better experience. THANK YOU, Salvage One!

We new instantly after visiting Salvage One that this was going to be our venue. It is so uniquely beautiful and so not boring stuff wedding hall. We had so many guests tell us after the wedding that it was just such a fun environment. The outside space was perfect for our cocktail hour and never felt crowded. The upstairs is so big there is so much you can do (or not do) with the space to make it personal to your wedding. We were worried about the acoustics upstairs as we already new we were going to have a band instead of a DJ, but it sounded great! The staff was so fabulous and accommodating and definitely wedding professionals. They were very responsive to all emails and really made our day stress free. You do have to bring in your own catering and alcohol, but they give you list of some fabulous caterers to choose from. I couldn't of imagined having our wedding anywhere else!

Colleen and Erin at Salvage One are so wonderful! They were super helpful in their thoughts, ideas, and recommendations for my February wedding. I couldn't have pulled off a wedding in four months without their expertise, quick responses, and wedding knowledge. They are exactly the people you want on your side when planning a wedding. The staff at Salvage One was super helpful and did a wonderful job setting the ceremony and reception space. I am so lucky to have found a date that worked. Such a beautiful venue with an amazing staff. Thank you!!

I cannot say enough about the people and the overall appeal of Salvage One to show my full appreciation for their contribution to making our wedding day so memorable! My initial concern was cost because we had a pretty tight budget for our wedding, but it was absolutely worth every penny because I didn't have to worry about decorating the space or hiring a day of Coordinator--Colleen and our caterer Danielle from Maison (on the Salvage One vendor list) took care of everything!
Everyone I worked with at the store was so accommodating through the entire planning process. My mom and I stopped in multiple times to check out the space as we were planning and whoever was there at the time always stopped and chatted with us and invited us to come and see the space when it was fully prepped for other weddings so we could imagine its potential. We even stopped by to bring in our centerpiece ideas so we could lay them out and make sure they worked with the space and the woman setting up for the wedding that day stopped and chatted with us to make sure we felt welcome. Colleen and the other coordinators answered all of my questions promptly whether I was contacting them through the phone or by email. She also arranged a meeting a few weeks out to discuss final details and plans for the day-of. She had an answer for everything and asked all of the right questions--things I hadn't even considered, and provided easy solutions for everything so that the day could run as stress-free and smooth as possible! No additional wedding coordinator necessary with this team!!
Our guests raved about the space, and because of it's unique nature we were able to get so many awesome photographs---I recommend getting up on the roof at sunset! I especially appreciated using the bridal/groom suite so that our photographer could capture getting ready photos all in one location.
Amazing day. Amazing location. Amazing team. Best venue ever!

If you're looking for a unique, warm, rustic place for your wedding and reception, look no further. This is your destination. From the moment we visited Salvage One to two weeks after our wedding when we picked up an item we had left our wedding night that they held for us, service was top notch. Kim and Brandy were friendly everytime we stopped by in person or emailed. They responded within a day to all emails (and I was sending A LOT of emails especially the weeks leading up to the wedding). They also provided great guidance during the walkthrough a week before the wedding so we were fully prepared on our big day.
Not to mention the ready-made decor built into this truly unique and beautiful venue provides a perfect backdrop without needing much (if any) additional decor of your own for your wedding day.
We had 165 guests and the space was perfect to accommodate all our guests and I think we could have had 200 easily.
The staff that helped clean up and pack away our items at the end of the wedding were just as friendly as Kim and Brandy.
We also received countless compliments on our unique venue from our guests.
Thank you Salvage One for providing a venue with warmth and charm equal to the love we felt on our wedding day!
A one of a kind amazing venue in Chicago.
Choose Salvage One as your wedding venue and you will be so glad you did! (do it soon though as people book this venue a year in advance!)
